THE WALKING DEAD is Getting a Retro Black and White Overhaul

0
0

As if The Walking Dead couldn't get any more awesome, AMC has announced that they will be giving season 1 and 2 a classic horror black and white movie makeover! As a fan of classic old school horror movies, like Night of the Living Dead, this is pretty awesome and I'm looking forward to rewatching this series in black and white.

Earlier this year the pilot episode was given a black and white makeover, and the network liked it so much that they decided to do it with the first two full seasons. It would also serve as a throwback to Robert Kirkman's original version of the comic book because it was done in black and white as well.

The announcement showed up in the official Walking Dead magazine, and AMC says the new versions will "give the series a Universal Monsters feel as well as mimicking the artistic style of the comic." The new cuts are scheduled to start airing on AMC in February of 2013!

Amber Heard Joins Kevin Costner in THREE DAYS TO KILL

Drive 3D co-star Amber Heard has been cast alongside Kevin Costner and Liam Hemsworth in the McG-directed action thriller, Three Days to Kill.

The story centers on a Secret Service agent played by Costner "who decides to retire in order to reconnect with his estranged family. Heard will play the woman who offers him access to an experimental drug that could save his life in exchange for one last assignment, which Costner must complete while coping with the drug's hallucinatory side effects." Luc Besson wrote the script for the film with Adi Hasak.

I'm not the biggest fan of Heard, she's such a terrible actress, and I'm surprised every time she gets cast in a film. Yeah, she's good looking, but it doesn't hide the fact that she can't act.

She's set to star in Robert Rodriguez's Machete Kills, Robert Luketic's Paranoia, and will soon be seen in an indie film called Syrup alongside Shiloh Fernandez, Kellan Lutz and Brittany Snow. She most recently starred alongside Johnny Depp The Rum Diary. What do you think of Heard as an actress?

STAR WARS Production Photos - The Originals Vs. The Prequels

It's pretty amazing to see how far technology has come over the years, but as we all know sometimes green screen and CGI isn't as good as the old school practical special effects. Judging by these photos it looks like the original Star Wars films were so much more fun to work on than the prequels. Everything just looked so much cooler!

THE BOURNE LEGACY Blu-ray Review

0
0

When I first heard that Jeremy Renner was stepping into the lead of The Bourne Legacy, I was confused and a bit annoyed. I could not understand why Matt Damon would want to leave a franchise that he was made to star in. Renner is no Matt Damon, but he is equally explosive in this intense action thriller. Universal Home Entertainment released the film on Blu-ray and DVD this week, and I had the chance to check it out for a second viewing. I always love watching a movie more than once, and especially love seeing the behind the scenes featurettes that are on the Blu-ray.

Tony Gilroy directs the fourth Bourne film that stars Renner, Edward Norton, Rachel Weisz, Joan Allen, Oscar Isaac and Albert Finney. Gilroy penned the script with his brother Dan, which throws audiences directly into a an expansion of the universe created by Robert Ludlum. The first films followed Damon on his search for his true identity, and this film focuses on Renner’s Aaron Cross as he tries to survive after the Government decides to eliminate the Bourne program.

Not only does Cross have to go on the run to elude hitmen, but he has to find a way to get a supply of the pills the government was feeding him to make him a super agent. During his quest for the "chems", as he continues to refer to them as, he connects with the lone surviving scientist (Rachel Weisz). The duo form a type of partnership, Cross will keep the scientist safe and she will help get him the chems.

The pacing of the film starts off slow but it gives us a pretty look behind the curtain of the Bourne training program. Renner is a great actor that continues to capture audiences attention when on screen. The pacing picks up later in the film, and the chase sequences are really cool. They are so cool, that I consider them to be on the same level as the ones that fans have come to love from the first Bourne films. Renner is born to be an action star, so I would be fine seeing him in more of the franchise.

The Blu-ray has some of the features you have come to expect with a Universal release. Here is a breakdown of the included features:

  • Audio Commentary: I always love it when the commentary includes a director and at least one of the stars. This commentary only includes the team behind the camera, such as Tony Gilroy, co-writer Dan Gilroy, editor John Gilroy, director of photography Robert Elswit, second unit director Dan Bradley and production designer Kevin Thompson.
  • Deleted Scenes: These scenes were deleted for a reason, and are pretty worthless in my opinion.
  • Re-Bourne: This section goes into depth on how the filmmakers decided to continue the Bourne universe without Jason Bourne.
  • Enter Aaron Cross: Crossing Continents: This portion takes audiences on a journey to the various filming locations.
  • Moving Targets: The cast and crew discuss dividing the film's focus between Aaron and Marta.
  • Man vs. Wolf: No this is not a hold over from The Grey, but it does feature Renner sharing what it was like to face off against wolves.
  • Wolf Sequence Test: This portion shows the animated storyboard/footage reel created for the wolf attack.
  • Capturing Chaos: The Motorbike Chase: Go behind the camera for the filming of the epic mortobike chase.
  • My Scenes Bookmarking

If you are craving some action, then The Bourne Legacy will be a perfect choice. Renner and Weisz work well in the roles, and Gilroy does a superb job of expanding the Bourne universe without Damon.

Breaking Abbey is a hilarious sneak peak at the upcoming season of Breaking Bad as performed by the men of Downtown Abbey as seen on The Colbert Report. The video is uncensored and is NSFW, but oh is it is funny. I have not watched too much of Stephen Colbert, but I like what I saw here. I have to confess that I have never seen Downtown Abbey, but I love me some Breaking Bad.

TRANSFORMERS 4 Will be "Very Different" from the Previous Films

0
0

It's no secret that the Transformers franchise is headed in a different direction, with a whole new cast and a set of new robots that will battle each other. Mark Wahlberg is reteaming with Michael Bay and taking on the lead role in Transformers 4. While promoting his new film Broken City the actor told I Am Rogue that this Transformers movie would be "very different" from the previous films. With all the other changes that have been announced I think we all assumed that would be the case. Here's what the actor had to say about working with Bay, his excitement for the Transformers, and how his role in it will be the most challenging role yet.

I had a great experience working with Michael. We really hit it off. We complement each other so well on set and we took something that was really good and I think we made something special with Pain and Gain. He said to me (on set), 'What do you think about doing a Transformers movie with me?' I said, 'Well, what do you want me to do? He told me and I said, 'Absolutely!' I think it will be the most challenging role that I’ve played and it’s an opportunity for me to do something extremely different. It’s going to be very different from what the first ones were. I’m excited about it. I talked to Steven Spielberg and I talked to Brian Grazer and I said, 'Don’t worry guys, this is not me taking a paycheck and running with it. This is me trying to … I liked what the guys did with like The Avengers, for instance. When I watched that movie I was not interested in seeing it at all but it was entertaining for me as well as for my kids. I think they did a really good job and we want to do something special with it, so I’m excited about it.

It would be cool if this next movie ended up being incredible. There's always the possibility that it could end up being better than the first three films. It's not like that would be very hard to do. Ehren Kruger (Transformers: Revenge of the FallenTransformers: Dark of the Moon) is currently writing the sequel, and it will be released in theaters on June 29th, 2014.

TMNT Concept Art From 4th Live-Action Film Shows Kirby The Fifth Turtle

Here is some cool concept art by Kevin Eastman for the fourth live-action Turtles movie that never was. Eastman did the art from 1995 to 1997 for the film tentatively titled, TMNT: The Next Mutation. The images show off the "fifth turtle" Kirby, as well as Fang, Shredder, Spyder, Nano Spyder, Super Shredder, Kasey (Casey), Talbot, Lawson, Bugman, and Evil April.

The fourth fillm was planned as being less kid-friendly, which would have been cool. Check out the art thanks to CBM and share your thoughts in the comments.

New Trailer for Jason Statham's PARKER

0

Jason Statham has a new movie coming out called Parker, and I am usually super psyched for them... but this probably the first time I am not. I have no idea why somebody would give a british guy a texan accent as a "disguise"... you are setting yourself up for failure. Also Jennifer Lopez.

The movie will be released on January 25th, 2013. Here is the latest trailer...

Jason Statham... you can do better.

Here's the Synopsis:

Parker (Jason Statham) is a professional thief who lives by a personal code of ethics: Don't steal from people who can't afford it and don't hurt people who don't deserve it. But on his latest heist, his crew double crosses him, steals his stash, and leaves him for dead. Determined to make sure they regret it, Parker tracks them to PalmBeach, playground of the rich and famous, where the crew is planning their biggest heist ever. Donning the disguise of a rich Texan, Parker takes on an unlikely partner, Leslie (Jennifer Lopez), a savvy insider, who's short on cash, but big on looks, smarts and ambition. Together, they devise a plan to hijack the score, take everyone down and get away clean.

New Photos for THE HANGOVER 3 and RED 2

Here's a few new official photos from the upcoming films The Hangover 3 and Red 2 that were released on EW recently.

Directed Todd Phillips is bring the Wold Pack back for a third time. Bradley CooperEd HelmsZach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha are all back to reprise their roles as Phil, Stu, Alan and Doug.

This time, there's no wedding. No bachelor party. What could go wrong, right? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off.

Phillips has said in the past that this third movie will break the formula that we saw in the first two films and do some different. As long as it's entertaining and makes me laugh... I'll be good. Here's two new photos from the film featuring the Wolf Pack back in the Las Vegas, and another one of Ken Jeong sporting a highway patrol outfit. Is this his new job or a cover? Phillips explains, "He's darker than ever. A fitting end to this three-part opera of mayhem and bad decisions." He goes on to reveal that Alan's character is the center of the story,

The Hangover Part III is Alan's story. He's going through a crisis after the death of his father, [and] the Wolfpack is all he has.

The movie hits theaters on May 24th, 2013.

Then we've also got out first look at Bruce Willis, John Malkovich and Mary-Louise Parker in director Dean Parisot's Red 2. Here's what Parisot had to say in a recent interview,

All of those great Bond and Bourne movies you've seen, we go into that world and have those kind of set pieces. It's just our characters that are completely ludicrous.

He goes on to say that Helen Mirren might steal the show again, ''She is genius and unbelievably sexy — and somehow unbelievably macho.'' I thought the first movie was great, and I'm looking forward to this sequel! The movie comes out on August 2nd, 2013.
