You Can Own This Awesome STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Poster

Wow, this is a gorgeous poster. Bottleneck Gallery and Acme Archive have teamed up to release two new posters from artist Grzegorz Domaradzki (aka Gabz) based on Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and if you've been holding off on buying a poster until the perfect one comes around, today is your lucky day.

Take a closer look at the regular and the variant versions below.

Gabz SWTFA 1.jpg
Gabz SWTFA 2.jpg

You might expect a poster like this to go on sale and immediately sell out. But thankfully, as io9 tells us, the regular version is a timed edition for $50, meaning they'll print as many posters as are ordered between when it initially went on sale at noon today and 11:59pm EST on April 9. So as long as you get your order in during that stretch, you're guaranteed one of these beauties. (The variant is a different story. There are only 250 of those being printed, so they're more rare. They also cost $60, if you're quick enough on the draw to snag one.)

Watch this video to get an even closer look at some of the stellar details.

Professional Clowns Are Furious Over the Film Adaptation of Stephen King's IT

The first trailer was recently released for the feature film adaptation of Stephen King's It and people seemed to love it! It definitely got me excited to see the movie and judging from what I've seen, it looks like it's gonna be a great and scary flick!

Not everyone is happy about the film, though. A group of real life clowns are kinda pissed off about the movie. These are the clowns that are hired out for birthday parties and they don't want another wave of creepy-clown paranoia spreading across the country.

Guilford Adams, a 42-year-old L.A. resident who has performed as “Gilly” the clown tells Mel Magazine, "It’s gonna be bad for clowns", and 33-year-old Nick Kane of L.A. who goes by the name of "Mr. Nick" says "It’s ruining our business."

They are afraid that It will "make kids so terrified of clowns that their parents will stop booking clowns for birthday parties." One clown even says that he’s already "experiencing the negative effects of the It remake: He noticed a considerable drop in traffic to his Yelp page in the days immediately following the trailer’s release."

I think those creepy-ass clown stalkers that were all over the place last year did more harm to the clown community than this trailer for It. It's not like parents are going to take their kids to see this crazy R-rated horror movie so it shouldn't really affect anything unless the parents are going out of their way to show their kids the movie.

It’s never been harder to be a clown, all of them say. Clowns were once a source of entertainment and even joy, but their depiction in the media has robbed them of their wholesomeness and transformed them into something children fear.

Personally, I didn't need to see a horror movie to tell me clowns are creepy. The first time I laid eyes on a clown was all I needed to instill that fear! Hell, has the clown community ever recovered from the serial killer John Wayne Gacy, who was a clown named "Pogo" for his day job?

Starting a controversy like this is definitely a great way to get in the press to drum up marketing and business!

Compelling New Trailer for the Tupac Shakur Biopic ALL EYEZ ON ME

"I report from the streets, I'm educating and keeping it real."

We've got a new trailer for the upcoming Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez On Me to show you today. Tupac was an incredibly influential artist and the this film's story focuses on his rise to fame and the journey will take audiences all the way to the fatal drive-by shooting that occurred in Las Vegas in 1996. This seriously looks like a great film that tells a powerful and compelling story and I'm looking forward to seeing it.

All Eyez On Me tells the true and untold story of prolific rapper, actor, poet and activist Tupac Shakur. The film follows Shakur from his early days in New York City to his evolution into being one of the world’s most recognized and influential voices before his untimely death at the age of 25. Against all odds, Shakur’s raw talent, powerful lyrics and revolutionary mind-set propelled him into becoming a cultural icon whose legacy continues to grow long after his passing.

The movie was directed by Benny Boom and stars Kat Graham, Lauren Cohan, Hill Harper, Jamal Woolard, Danai Gurira and Demetrius Shipp Jr. as Tupac Shakur.  It's crazy how much Shipp Jr. looks like him!

All Eyez on Me will open in theaters on June 16, 2017.

The TRON Lightcycle Power Run Roller Coaster Might Being Coming to Disneyland and Disney World

The TRON Lightcycle Power Run ride that originally launched at Disney Shanghai may be making its way to Disneyland and Disney World! According to WDW News Today the ride is close to approval and could happen in the next five years.

According to sources, budget and preliminary design teams for Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts have been sent out to Shanghai to make the project into a reality here in the United States.

Apparently, the decision to move forward with bringing the TRON Lightcycle Power Run was heavily influenced by Disney's desire to reboot the TRON film franchise. It's good to know that Disney hasn't given up completely on the TRON franchise. I just wish they would've continued the story that started with TRON: Legacy.

The ride will be included in Tomorrowland where the Tomorrowland Speedway is located. They say the plan is to release it sometime before October 1st, 2021, which will coincide with the 50th-anniversary celebration of Disney World.

Things with the ride are subject to change over the next few years but it's something that Disney seems to be seriously considering. This make me happy because I've been wanting to ride this roller coaster so bad, I just didn't see myself going all the way to Shanghai for it.

Joe Manganiello is Developing a DUNGEONS & DRAGONS Film

Last year Warner Bros. announced that they would start developing a feature film adaptation of Dungeons & Dragons. There were no details revealed at the time of who was involved with the development of the project, but Joe Manganiello (True Blood) recently revealed that he's co-writing a script with a friend.

For those of you who don't know, Manganiello is a huge Dungeons & Dragons fan. We actually recently shared a video of him playing the strategy game on the Dungeons & Dragons series CelebriD&D.

I have no idea if the film Manganiello is working on is connected to Warner Bros. film, but it would make sense if it was. The actor has a relationship with the studio and is supposed to be playing Deadshot in The Batman

On the most recent episode of the "Happy Sad Confused" (around the 53:00 mark), the actor reveals that to help in the process of writing the script, he held a creative summit with Wizards of the Coast, who is the creative force behind the Dungeons & Dragons property. He wanted to talk to them about "where [the film] could go, what it should look like, and what it should be."

After the World of Warcraft movie bombed at the box office, we learned that it's not an easy task to effectively adapt these epic fantasy properties that appeal to general audiences and hardcore fans. When talking about the key to getting something like this right the actor says:

"Obviously, there's a spectacle. There's dragons breathing fire and lightning. But what makes a great superhero or fantasy movie is the human aspect. It's got to be about something. We root for those characters in Game of ThronesFellowship of the Ring was about friendship, this undying love for your friends. That's something everyone can identify with.
"When a movie is about something human and real emotionally people are going to want to see. Then you get some dragons breathing fire, and hey, I'm in."

This whole thing is in the very early stages of development, but Manganiello says he's "talking to all the right parties" to make it happen, which means he's gotta be in talks with Warner Bros. since they currently own the movie rights to the property.

I hope it all works out! I'd love to see an epic Dungeons & Dragons movie get made with Joe Manganiello!

Activision Plans on Building a CALL OF DUTY Cinematic Universe!

0
0

We've known for awhile that Activision was planning on developing a Call of Duty film franchise. They announced their initial plans about a year ago and we haven't had any updates since. Now today we've learned that they've been developing something big for the property. According to Activision Blizzard Studios co-presidents Stacey Sher (Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight ) and Nick Van Dyk, they plan on building a Call fo Duty cinematic universe. This is obviously inspired by the formula that Marvel has found success in with their own movies and TV shows.

While speaking with The Guardian, Sher revealed that they have long-term plans in place for the property that will encompass both movies and TV series. She explains:

“We have plotted out many years. We put together this group of writers to talk about where we were going. There’ll be a film that feels more like Black Ops, the story behind the story. The Modern Warfare series looks at what it’s like to fight a war with the eyes of the world on you. And then maybe something that is more of a hybrid, where you are looking at private, covert operations, while a public operation is going on.”

Right there, she's already given us what three of the films that they are developing. The report goes on to say that the projects "will draw on the feel of the different incarnations of the game rather than transposing existing plots." Van Dyk adds:

“It’s going to have the same sort of high-adrenaline, high-energy aesthetic as the game, but it’s not a literal adaptation. It’s a much more broad and inclusive, global in scope … a big, tentpole Marvel-esque movie.”

This is exactly what I've been saying Paramount Pictures should do with the G.I. Joe franchise! It'll be interesting to see how this will all play out, but I'm really excited for it because I love the Call of Duty game franchise.

Marvel has found success with their cinematic universe formula and everyone else wants in on the action. As long as they pump out quality films with decent scripts and great storytelling, people will keep coming back for more. With Van Dyk on board, there's a good chance that Call of Duty could see that success. He played a big role in acquiring Marvel and Lucasfilm for Disney and helping them become the powerhouse properties they are today.

There are so many characters that they could use and create to play with and so many stories that they could tell in the Call of Duty universe. This could easily sustain a cinematic universe if handled correctly.

As far as the TV aspect of the franchise goes, they are looking at "a TV series focused on historical conflicts such as World War 2 and Vietnam, which is how the Call of Duty franchise started, again mirroring Marvel’s four series on Netflix: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist."

Awesome! I'm in, and I can't wait to see what they do with this! They hope to release the first installment of the film franchise go into production in 2018 and release it within a couple of years. What do you all think about Activision building a Call of Duty cinematic universe?

The Origins And Evolution Of Stop Motion Animation Are Explored In This Cool Video

While stop motion animation has come a long way in recent years, its roots go back to the times of Thomas Edison! I guess it seems obvious given the technical simplicity of making stop motion work, but man is it a challenge to make it look nearly as good as people continue to make it today! Georg Rockall Schmidt shares a brief history of the medium and goes into some depth about how stop-motion animation first started, and how we got to where we are today in the video below.

ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN Writer Admits He's Confused By Peter Parker's Best Friend In SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING

0
0

While he's stoked and flattered to see one of his characters appearing in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Ultimate Spider-Man writer Brian Michael Bendis has a bit of confusion over the role of Peter Parker's best friend, Ned Leeds. For those unfamiliar with the situation, many Spider-man fans have pointed out that Ned Leeds bears a striking resemblance to a comic book character created by Bendis, Ganke. In the comics, Ganke is the chubby Asian best friend to Miles Morales, who is not the Spider-Man we're seeing on screen. Bendis shares his thoughts on the Ultimate Spiderman podcast (via io9) below:

I’ll be very honest right now. I have not talked about this publicly, but it feels very bizarre. Most of the time the characters that I’ve had a hand in creating that have made it to the screen, from Jessica [Jones] all the way to Maria Hill and Quake, the level of quality of the adaptation and care in which they bring the character forward past the adaptation into its new life has been uniformly amazing — my luck in this area has been second to none.

I’ve not seen Spider-Man: Homecoming, so I’m gonna wait until we see what we see. But, yeah, it was bizarre and flattering. I don’t even know if Ganke was the inspiration, or they just got to their own place with a character like this on their own. I don’t know. It does seem like it might have been, but no one’s told me either way. There’s so much else in that trailer that’s from ‘Ultimate Spider-Man’ that I would assume that, yes, it is… It’s weird only because Ganke wasn’t part of Peter’s story—he was part of Miles’ story.

Keep in mind that we're still unsure of where Ned Leeds story will take us. Ultimately, Ned Leeds goes onto become the Hobgoblin in Peter Parker's storyline, so perhaps going off looks alone and comparing him to Ganke is a bit unfair. Still, the fact that Ganke was a best friend to Morales and Leeds is the best friend to Parker and they both look similar may leave a sour taste in the mouth of Ultimate Spider-Man fans...how do you feel about it? Do you even care?

Watch: Frank Sinatra Tells Hilarious Story About Don Rickles

0

The internet has been sharing a lot of Don Rickles clips since his passing this week, and while all of them are funny, I don't think I've laughed at any as hard as I have this one! This is a classic Johnny Carson clip in which Frank Sinatra recalls a time where Rickles ran into him in a restaurant. I'm not going to spoil the story because I can't do justice to it like Frank does, but it just goes to show you how Rickles was just as funny when he didn't have an audience as when he did!

His humor will be missed.

Ewan McGregor Says Playing Two Characters In FARGO Wasn't That Difficult

Playing one actor on a series sounds like it would be a daunting enough job, let alone two! That's before you add in that you're jumping into Noah Hawley's world of Fargo, which in two seasons has established a portfolio of some fantastic performances! For a veteran like Ewan McGregor though, he makes it appear as though it wasn't as difficult as it would sound. The actor spoke to THR about his two roles in Season 3 and how he reacted when he learned he would be playing two characters:

"I felt like I understood them from the writing and I don't make the job very complicated for myself as an actor,"

That confidence! It's not like I can fault him as McGregor has played two roles in a feature before (The Island), but make no mistake just because McGregor wasn't worried about performing he still concedes that it was a lot of work:

"I got up there [to set], I suddenly went, 'F—, I've got two jobs to do here.'"

We'll see for sure how well McGregor does when his characters make their debut on Season 3 of Fargo April 19th. Check out a teaser for the two characters below.

Anne Hathaway Shows off Her Kaiju Dance Skills in Funny Clip for COLOSSAL

I've got a great clip to share with you from Anne Hathaway's new film Colossal. It tells the fun and dramatic story of a giant Kaiju monster that suddenly appears in the city of Seoul, South Korea, and starts destroying it. What makes this so interesting is the fact that Hathaway's character is the Kaiju!

The clip below shows us a great scene in which Hathaway reveals that she's connected to the giant creature to her friends by showing off her Kaiju dance moves. This is one of the more amusing light-hearted scenes in the film, but there's so much more to the story that none of the marketing has revealed yet. I won't spoil it for you, but this is a movie worth watching. You can read my review for the film here.

Colossal is one of the most unique and fantastic giant monster movies that I've seen. You can check it out when it's released on June 30th.

Photo of Henry Cavill Wearing Christopher Reeves' Superman Suit For His MAN OF STEEL Audition

I've heard that Henry Cavill slipped into Christopher Reeves' classic Superman suit during his first audition for Man of Steel about 5 or 6 years ago. Well, today director Zack Snyder shared a photo he took of Cavill wearing the suit and as you can see he looks great! No wonder he landed the gig! The photo came with the following caption from Snyder saying, "I knew when I saw him he was my Superman."

This is what Snyder previously had to say about it:

"We didn’t have the suit made when Henry was auditioning, so he wore the original Christopher Reeve suit. He put it on and when he came out of the trailer, everyone was like, ‘Dang, you’re Superman!"

I was wondering if we'd ever see this photo and I'm glad that Snyder released it! You can check out the full image below.

I remember the days when I used to rock a Walkman! I loved that damn thing when I was a kid! There's a whole generation out there that will never know the greatness of what it was like to listen to music on a Walkman.

I've got a new Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 promo for you to check out called "Blast from the Past with Peter Quill" and it features Chris Pratt amusingly explain what it was like to own a Walkman back in the day and he talks about and highlight all of the wonderful functions... that it doesn't have.

This video reminds some of us just how old we really are! Check it out.

Catch Up with the FAST & FURIOUS Saga in Less Than Seven Minutes

If you're planning to see The Fate of the Furious when it opens next Friday, you have a few options.

  1. Spend the next few days rewatching all seven of the movies released thus far.
  2. Ignore the rewatch and go into the new film cold, hoping you'll be able to figure out what the hell is going on
  3. Watch Burger Fiction's quick supercut of some of the series' best moments, and THEN go see the new movie

I'd honestly recommend option 1, but if you don't have the time, 3 is far better than 2.
