Christopher Nolan Explains that DUNKIRK is Not a War Film and Why It's His Most Human Film Yet

I recently had the opportunity to see some incredible footage from Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk that completely blew me away. The movie tells an intense true life story from World War II and from what I've seen, the movie looks like a war film, but according to the director... it's not.

While talking to Associated Press, Nolan was talking about the PG-13 rating of the film and in the process, he explains why Dunkirk is not a war film:

“All of my big blockbuster films have been PG-13. It’s a rating I feel comfortable working with totally. Dunkirk is not a war film. It’s a survival story and first and foremost a suspense film. So while there is a high level of intensity to it, it does not necessarily concern itself with the bloody aspects of combat, which have been so well done in so many films. We were really trying to take a different approach and achieve intensity in a different way. I would really like lots of different types of people to get something out of the experience.”

The film definitely looks like it's going to be quite the experience and I'm confident that anyone who sees is going to get something out of it. The director goes on to say that Dunkirk is the most human film he's ever made, explaining:

"I feel like Dunkirk is such a universal event and it involves so many people that to try to encapsulate the specific detail of the human experience wasn’t the way to go. What we decided to do was to really try and live in the moment of the experience … the very immediate and human desire to survive. It’s the most human movie I’ve ever made because it’s about the desire for survival. We wanted to tackle that and make what I refer to as a very present tense narrative where you’re in the moment with the characters. You’re not necessarily spending too much time discussing who they were before or who they will be after."

This is an interesting approach because it doesn't sound like there's going to be much character development. He just wants to put the audience right in the middle of the action of what these characters will be forced to endure.

After seeing what I've seen, I believe that this could be Nolans greatest film and I can't wait to see it when it opens on July 21st.

Tested Checks Out The Original Green Ranger Helmet From POWER RANGERS

Tested got their hands on the original Green Ranger helmet from Power Rangers, and it looks just as glorious now as it did in the 90s. Of course, "original" in this case still raises some questions with the Tested staff as there's no real idea as to whether this helmet (provided by Saban) was from the American set of the series or from the Japanese original Super Sentai. Honestly, I don't care because it looks amazing enough for me to whip out my wallet and buy one now! I'm sure that will change when I see the price tag on these bad boys but I'll keep dreaming for now. Check out the helmet in the video below.

Honest Trailer For THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS: TOKYO DRIFT

I'm a huge Fast & Furious fan, but even I can't get behind the love for Tokyo Drift. Yes, it has some good moments, and it's certainly not the worst of the franchise (lookin' at you, 2 Fast 2 Furious), but I've seen people say it's their favorite movie of the whole series, and I find that to be an insane opinion.

Still, this new Honest Trailer doesn't give Justin Lin enough credit for bringing this franchise back from the brink of oblivion. This is the start of one of the biggest comebacks in movie history.

The Upcoming DUNE Adaptation will be written by FORREST GUMP Writer Eric Roth

Legendary Pictures is in the process of developing a new feature film adaptation of Frank Herbert's Dune. They've just hired screenwriter Eric Roth to write the script for the film. He's a talented screenwriter that has worked on films such as Forrest Gump, The Insider, Ali, Munich, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and more. As you can see he has a great track record and is sure to deliver a solid script.

Dune is being directed by Denis Villeneuve, who previously made Arrival, Sicario, and the incredible looking sequel Blade Runner 2049. With the level of talent that is being brought on to develop this film, I'd like to think that we can expect great things from this new adaptation of this classic sci-fi story.

Set in the distant future, “Dune” follows Paul Atreides, whose family assumes control of the desert planet Arrakis. As the only producer of a highly valuable resource, jurisdiction over Arrakis is contested among competing noble families. After Paul and his family are betrayed, the story explores themes of politics, religion, and man’s relationship to nature, as Paul leads a rebellion to restore his family’s reign.

Dune is actually one of the few properties that I really want to see a new film for. I'm a fan of the original movie directed by David Lynch, but I always thought that it could've been a much better adaptation. I think Villeneuve has the ability to give fans some incredible. What do you all think?

Ian McKellan Explains Why Passed on Playing Dumbledore in HARRY POTTER

Ian McKellan is one of those iconic actors who can do practically anything. So, it's no surprise that after Richard Harris, who played Dumbledore in the first two Harry Potter films, died, the studio began talking to McKellan to replace him.

While talking to McKellan on BBC's HARDtalk show, host Stephen Sackur, brought up a quote from Richard Harris, who was a critic of Ian Mckellan's saying Ian was, "Technically Brilliant but Passionless."

The good Sir Ian McKellan responded that while the statement was said by Harris, it was nonsense. He then related a story that after Harris passed how the studio talked to Ian about playing a role in Harry Potter.

"When they called me up and said would I be interested in being in the Harry Potter films, they didn't say in what part. I worked out what they were thinking, and I couldn't... I couldn't take over the part from an actor who I'd known didn't approve of me."

To think, Sir Ian McKellan could have added yet another wizard to his already great wizard roster. Gandalf the Grey, Gandalf the White, Magneto (who is like a mutant wizard). While I respect McKellan's choice to not play such a huge role because of the previous actor's thoughts on him, I can't help but wonder how great he could have been.

To be fair, Michael Gambdon, who ended up taking the role, did a wonderful job. It's just one of those interesting other choices, like the Sean Connery Gandalf, the Will Smith Matrix, or the Patrick Stewart Cogsworth, that we will always have to wonder about and that people in a separate universe may be enjoying.

Sackur then clarified that McKellan could have played Dumbldore, to which McKellan responded:

"Well, sometimes, when I see the posters of Mike Gambon, the actor who gloriously plays Dumbledore, I think sometimes it is me."

Truly a classy man.

JURASSIC WORLD Remade With a Parkour T-Rex

We've seen tons of videos featuring a blow-up T-Rex costume, but none quite like this. YouTuber DevinSuperTramp has essentially remade Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic World, but with parkour — and yes, even the dino does parkour. The most impressive part of this video is that it's clearly shot in Hawaii, and it looks like they may have even been able to film this on the same locations that the movie used for its principal photography. Arnold Schwarzenegger Will Not Return to THE EXPENDABLES Without Sylvester Stallone

Recently we reported that Sylvester Stallone will not be coming back for the fourth installation of The Expendables. In that article, I said that without Sly the franchise just wouldn't be the same. It looks like I'm not the only one with that opinion, and another key actor is going to bail on the project.

In a recent interview with EW, Arnold Schwarzenegger said he will not star in the movie without Sylvester Stallone. He reportedly said:

"There is no 'Expendables' without Sly. I would never do the movie without him, no."

So, now two of the biggest names in The Expendables are out. If enough people begin to bail, there may be no one left to make an Expendables 4 movie.

Maybe they can just get extras who actually are expendable to play the roles. Just a bunch of regular looking no-name dudes getting brutally killed throughout the movie. Ya, that's what made people want to go see the first three films. Not the big famous action stars kicking ass. Get your shit together Expendables!

Each of the videos in our new cosplay series will focus on individual cosplayers. We'll conduct brief interview's with each of the talented and creative individuals that we come across at the conventions that we attend and, of course, we'll also include some shots showing off their awesome costumes.

Like any new series, things are going to be a bit rough at first, but we'll get better and evolve the more we do it. Thanks for watching!

Michael Bay Confirms the BUMBLEBEE Spinoff Movie will be a Prequel Story

Bumblebee is one of the more popular characters in the Transformers film franchise and Paramount Pictures has been developing a solo spinoff film for awhile now. There hasn't been much revealed regarding the story of this film, but now we know it will tell a prequel story. While talking to MTV, director Michael Bay confirmed:

"It'll go a little younger, and it will deal more with his character and it's just about him."

That sounds to me like Bumblebee will be the only Transformers character that we see in the film. Then when asked where the movie will fit into the timeline of the rest of the Transformers movie Bay said, "back." This is just the first solid information that we've learned about the Bumblebee movie.

They then went on to joke around about seeing a little younger digitized Shia LaBeouf in the film, which obviously isn't going to happen, but it's funny to listen to them talk about it.

When we first met Bumblebee in the Transformers franchise he was a beat up a yellow Camaro. With the solo film being a prequel, I imagine we won't see him in his slick new Camaro form. We actually might get to see him in his days as a classic Camaro. Who knows, maybe we'll even see him in action as a VW bug, which would actually be kinda fun.

Kubo and the Two Strings director Travis Knight is set to direct the film from a script being written by Christina Hodson (Shut In, Unforgettable). Knight is a solid director and that fact that he's involved is a good thing. Bumblebee is scheduled to be released on June 8, 2018.

After watching this trailer I can't remember if the original Anne Of Green Gables was this dark or not. I was super young when I watched the television mini-series and I remember the mom being a jerk but damn! This trailer for the new Netflix adaptation of AOGG, Anne, starts off really sad and depressing, but things brighten up by the end of the trailer! Overall, I think this version will be worth the watch. Check out the first trailer and stream the series beginning May 12th.

Christian Bale is being eyed to play the former Vice President of America, Dick Cheney, in an upcoming biopic. The film, which is being directed by Big Short director Adam McKay, will look to focus on the political career of Cheney dating all the way back to the Richard Nixon era to his stint as Vice President under George W. Bush

Variety tells us that in addition to Bale, McKay is also in talks with Steve Carrell to play Donald Rumsfeld and Amy Adams to play Cheney's wife. Personally, I'm just waiting to see how Christian Bale manages to transform himself to play Dick Cheney because they do not look even close to similar! No release date or title for this project yet, but we'll keep you updated as we learn more.

Synopsis for Marvel's THE INHUMANS, Which Promises to Be Unlike Anything You've Seen on TV Before

A new synopsis for Marvel's upcoming series The Inhumans has been released that sheds some light on the story that the series will tell. It reveals that Black Bolt, Medusa, and the rest of the Royal family are hiding out on earth after a military coup back on Attilan, the ancestral home of the Inhumans. The synopsis reads:

After the Royal Family of Inhumans is splintered by a military coup, they barely escape to Hawaii where their surprising interactions with the lush world and humanity around them may prove to not only save them, but Earth itself.

This means that the series will begin with the character Maximus succeed in overthrowing his brother's rule, and the bulk of the series will take place on Earth dealing with Black Bolt's attempts to take back his throne.

With part of this series being shot in IMAX, we already know this isn't going to be your average TV series, but according to Mark Endemano, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Disney Media Distribution, it's not going to be like anything we've seen before. He says:

"I promise you, this is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before on television. It brings a richness and depth of storytelling."

He didn't say how the series would be any different from what Marvel has done before but it's exciting to hear that it's going to be something epic. I was kind of apprehensive at first because I was hoping that the Inhumans would be a movie, but maybe TV will be a better place for it. We'll just have to wait and see!

Inhumans, which is filmed using IMAX cameras, will debut in IMAX theaters in the United States on September 1. The show will receive its broadcast debut on ABC on September 26. The series is produced by ABC Studios, Marvel Television and IMAX, and stars Anson Mount, Serinda Swan, Iwan Rheon, Ken Leung, Eme Ikwuakor, Isabelle Cornish, Mike Moh, Sonya Balmores and Ellen Woglom.
The first two episode of Marvel’s The Inhumans (directed by Roel Reine) will premiere in over 1,000 IMAX theatres across the globe — for a two-week run — starting on September 1, 2017. ABC will then premiere the weekly television series on Tuesday, September 26. Marvel's Iron Fist showrunner Scott Buck is serving as its showrunner.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Doesn't Like the Script for THE PREDATOR and Won't Be a Part of It

Uh oh. Arnold Schwarzenegger has read the script for Shane Black's The Predator and he says he didn't like it! There was a part for him in the film but after reading the script he decided to not be a part of it. While talking to Yahoo! about the film he said:

"They asked me, and I read it, and I didn’t like it, whatever they offered. So I’m not going to do that, no. Except if there’s a chance that they rewrite it, or make it a more significant role. But the way it is now, no, I won’t do that."

So did he not like the story or did he just not like the fact that they role they had for him was smaller than he would have liked? Black, who played Hawkins opposite Schwarzenegger in the original 1987 film responded to a fan on Twitter and he also hopes that Schwarzenegger didn't think the script was bad.

In a separate report from Alien vs Predator Galaxy, they say that Schwarzenegger’s character Dutch was supposed to show up at the end of The Predator to tease a sequel. If that is the case, it sounds like he probably would have a bigger role in the sequel. That would've been cool! It doesn't really matter anymore, though, because he's not doing it. That's a shame.

Regardless of what Schwarzenegger says, I'm still excited to see the movie!
