With season two of Attack On Titan set to kick off this April, the show's two directors sat down to answer some questions on the new series. Neither one really gives any specific details on what we can expect, but if you read the manga because you were convinced we would never see a season two, you know what's coming. Hear both directors share their thoughts on the process, why it took so long, and what fans should get excited about below.
Hear The ATTACK ON TITAN Directors Talk About Season 2 and Its Challenges
In less than 20 years, we've managed to eradicate tube televisions from the mainstream market. It's hilarious to think when this ad rolled for the Phillips flat screen in 1998, my family had a 32-inch tube television in our living room. Now I think everyone in my family at least has a 50-inch flat screen in their living room, as well as another TV in some other room.
Look how bulky this thing is! That thing would destroy whatever it fell on! Luckily, they trimmed down the size and made them a lot more manageable than tube televisions ever were. I remember it being a task to move one of those tube televisions, and don't even get me started on those giant box big screen TV's...how did we ever use those?!
It's great to look back and speculate on what we will all be using in another 20 years. Check out the classic commercial below.
Flashback: Here's One of the First Ads for a Flat Screen TV in 1998
Director Terry Gilliam has been trying to get his film The Man Who Killed Don Quixote made for the past 17 years. Today, he's once again started shooting the film, and hopefully this time it isn't plagued by problems like the first time, which was chronicled in the classic documentary Lost in La Mancha. This is the filmmaker's seventh attempt to make the film!
Last year it was announced that Adam Driver (The Force Awakens) would be taking on the lead role that was originally played by Johnny Depp. Over the years, both Jack O'Connell and Ewan McGregor were attached to the role.
Jonathan Pryce (Brazil, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, The Brothers Grimm) is set to play Miguel de Cervantes, the hero of the story. That role previously had Michael Palin, Robert Duvall, Jean Rochefort, and the late John Hurt attached to it.
The movie also stars Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace), Stellan Skarsgård (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Joana Ribeiro (A Uma Hora Incerta), Eva Basteiro-Bertoli (Black Bread), and Rossy de Palma (Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown).
Gilliam's new vision of this story is a modern and satirical twist on the classic Cervantes tale. Driver will play Toby, "a jaded commercials director who travels to Spain for a shoot and comes across a gypsy who gives a copy of his student film - a lyrical re-working of the Don Quixote story set in a quaint old Spanish village. Moved by the discovery, Toby sets off on a bizarre road trip to find the little village where the student student film was shot and gets caught up in a series of catastrophies."
I couldn't be more excited that Gilliam is finally making this passion project of his. I honestly wasn't sure if it would ever happen, but here it is! It's happening, and I can't wait to see it! After all this time and hard work have been put into making this film happen, I hope for Gilliam's sake that it turns out to be exactly what he wants and that it turns out good.
The original screenwriter of the first version of the film, Tony Grisoni, who wrote Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, Tideland, and (uncredited) The Brothers Grimm with Gilliam, is still credited with the Quixote script.

Kong: Skull Island is in theaters now, and Mondo has teamed up Legendary Art Series to debut two brand new posters celebrating the movie from artist Francesco Francavilla. Both posters will be available at a random time today at mondotees.com.
Kong: Skull Island by Francesco Francavilla. 24"x36" screen print. Hand numbered. Edition of 335. Printed by D&L Screenprinting. $60
Kong: Skull Island (Variant) by Francesco Francavilla. 24"x36" screen print. Hand numbered. Edition of 95. Printed by D&L Screenprinting. $85
Here's a statement from the artist:
"I can safely say I am a life time fan of KING KONG. When I was offered the opportunity to draw the big ape on a poster for this new, badass edition, it really was a no brainer. We really wanted to play on the majesty, the gigantic size of Kong, so after a couple of layouts, I came up with him looming, reaching over the island - a little nod to the classic image of King King looming over NYC skyline. It helped that the movie has so much great visuals that I tried to implement in the layout."
Good luck snagging these if you want them. As always, Mondo pieces are incredibly hard to get, so you'll have to pay close attention and be on their site the minute these go on sale or try your luck over at eBay if they're already sold out.

Telltale Games is doing some great things in the gaming world, especially for casual gamers like me. Their Walking Dead series and their Batman series are both great! They have now released our first look at the upcoming Marvel game Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series. They also offer some new details on what the game will entail along with the voice cast.
That cast includes Friday Night Lights star Scott Porter as Star-Lord, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor actress Emily O'Brien as Gamora, Uncharted actor Nolan North will play Rocket Raccoon, Watch Dogs' Brandon Paul Eells will voice Drax, and The Wolf Among Us' Adam Harrington will voice Groot.
The story for the series will follow the Guardians team as they discover a powerful artifact after a major battle. Each of the Guardians wants the relic for different reasons, as does a villain who is the last of her kind.
Here are some additional details that were shared in the press release:
The first of five episodes in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series will premiere digitally in 2017 on consoles, PC, and mobile devices.
“The energizing blend of humor, emotion, teamwork, and full-on sci-fi action-adventure of the Guardians provides an enormously satisfying space to explore through Telltale’s unique style of interactive storytelling,” Kevin Bruner, Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games previously said. “In Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, players will take on multiple roles within the ragtag band of heroes, and take the pilot’s seat in directing their escapades around the universe. We are always honored to be working with the best creative partners and storytellers in entertainment, and working with Marvel on this series leaves us excited to share what we’ve been developing when it premieres in 2017.”
“With story at the core of everything that Marvel creates, who better to team with than master storytellers Telltale Games,” said Jay Ong, Senior Vice President, Games & Innovation, Marvel Entertainment. “Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series fully showcases Marvel and Telltale’s rich legacy of storytelling, and fans will find themselves immersed in an original, character-driven narrative. As part of our strategy to establish a new standard for Marvel games, this is certainly among the great titles to come.”
The series will also be coming to retail as a special season pass disc, which will include the first episode in the season, and will grant access to the subsequent four episodes as they become available for download via online updates. Specific platform details are yet to be announced.

Today marks the 20th anniversary of one of my favorite shows of all time, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This past week creator Joss Whedon and producer Gail Berman both shared their thoughts on the series and what it means to them. Today we get to hear from the series star, Buffy herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar. She posted a heartfelt and emotional letter on Instagram recounting her time on the series and thanking the cast, crew, and fans for all their support. It reads:
"20 years ago today, I had the greatest privilege to bring Buffy to your tv screens for the first time. It was a long and challenging road to get there. First the movie, then a passed over pilot presentation, and eventually a mid season time slot on a little known network. That first season, we liked to think of ourselves as the little show that could. While we knew the potential, I don’t think any of us saw the lasting impact our show would have. As an actor, you wish for that one role where you can leave your mark and forever be remembered, with Buffy I got so much more. She’s a feminist challenge to gender hierarchy. Buffy may have been the Chosen One, but I was the lucky one. Thank you to Gail Berman for always believing there was a show in that movie. Thank you to Joss Whedon, for trusting me to give life to one of the greatest female characters ever created. Thank you to David, for always being my Angel. Thank you to James for understanding that while Buffy and Spike may have been love/hate, I have nothing but love for you. Alyson, as any woman knows, you are nothing without the love and support of great female friends, so thank you for being that. Michelle, you will always hold a key to my heart. Thank you to all the incredible actors for seven seasons of amazing performances. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the incredible crew that worked tirelessly (and also really tired) to bring this show to life. And lastly, but most importantly thank you to all of you, the fans. We made this show for you, and your unwavering support has kept this show going long past our seven years. You are everything. And always remember... 'if the apocalypse comes, beep me'"
As I've said before, I'm currently watching the series with my two girls and they are absolutely loving it! It's a ton of fun to watch their reactions as they go from episode to episode. I hope they are able to be inspired by the series, its characters and themes, and what they have to offer.

In next week's episode of Star Wars Rebels, we'll finally get to see the long-awaited rematch between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Maul. While we patiently wait to see that epic showdown, we got a brief new promo that teases what's to come.
This is an older, Alec Guinness-era version of Obi-Wan Kenobi that will be taking on Darth Maul again after they faced each other in The Phantom Menace. Darth Maul was pissed about how that turned out and now he's out for revenge. I can't wait to watch Kenobi kick his ass... again.
The fates of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Maul have long been intertwined. From their fateful duel in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace where Kenobi left Maul for dead, to their tragic reunion in Star Wars: The Clone Wars when Maul wreaked havoc across the galaxy before disappearing once again. In the upcoming episode of Star Wars Rebels, “Twin Suns,” the dark warrior has managed to track down his old enemy to the desert wastes of Tatooine. Will their rivalry come to an end?
This is going to be a momentous event in the Star Wars universe and it's coming next week! The episode is called "Twin Suns," and it airs on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 8:30 pm.

If you've been to college in America, you're familiar with cornhole. It's the game in which two opposing teams attempt to toss bean bags into a hole on their opponents' board. Now, the team at Hyperdyne Labs has built the coolest cornhole board I've ever seen: it's based on the trench run sequence from the original Star Wars, and in addition to looking like a section of the Death Star, the board comes complete with lights and sound effects that take this thing to an entirely different level. Check it out:
Pretty incredible, right? I'm not actually sure if this is for sale or not — it doesn't seem like something Disney/Lucasfilm would be OK with people selling without approval — but either way, it's a super rad way to enhance a classic game. Excellent work!

We've already seen a lot of great and exciting footage from director James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The movie is going to be a blast! Marvel has been pretty careful regarding the information they have released and they haven't really revealed that much in the way of the details that make up the story. Although, we do know the basic overall plot.
Cinema Blend recently sat down with Gunn to talk to him about the film and he offered some great information on the story arcs for each of the core team characters. Don't worry, he doesn't get into any spoiler territory, but he does offer some information that we haven't heard before. Especially in regards to the relationships of the characters and how they are bonding with each other.
"That's the first thing people say when they see the movie. The first movie was about Peter Quill, and the second movie has every single character have a complete arc, a complete story. They each learn something. It's a story about Peter Quill, with his father, but also his abusive step-father, Yondu.
"It's about Nebula's relationship with her sister, Gamora, and how that's not all that we saw in the first movie. It's a lot deeper and more complicated than that. We thought in the first movie that Gamora was the good guy, and Nebula's the bad guy, but that really isn't the whole story."
"I think it's a story about this poor little Rocket, who is in search of a father and in search of a somebody to give a shit, who cannot find it - and maybe does a little bit with Michael Rooker's character."
"It's about Dave Bautista and Mantis together, who become on the one hand close friends, and then on the other hand she's a surrogate daughter for the daughter that was murdered."
"And of course Baby Groot's relationship with all of them, they are the worst parents in the entire world! Who else brings a two-year-old son into a giant battle with a giant monster? Terrible parents! And maybe Gamora and Rocket are better than the other two. The other two are terrible. All of those things come together in a way that seems pretty magical."
I want to watch this movie right now because I'm just so damn excited about it! It's going to be fun to see how exactly the story arcs for these characters will play out throughout the course of the movie.
Set to the backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.
The movie stars Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Elizabeth Debicki, and Chris Sullivan.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be released on May 5, 2017

Logan is still seeing a lot of success at the box office. I've seen it twice already, and I'll probably see it at least one more time before it leaves theaters. It's just such a great and powerful cinematic experience.
While talking to CB, Mangold opened up about the film and expressed his hopes that its success will encourage other studios to take risks and experiment with other comic book films. He says:
"Honestly, what I'd love this movie to open the door for is continued experimentation. Not someone saying, "This is what must be done every time.' The film makers are allowed to take on these projects and instead of making a movie that can be cut seamlessly to the last movie and no one will see the difference, that the film makers and the actors are allowed to express themselves. I think where things have gotten a bit stale the last five or six years is everyone movies somehow need to look the same. And partly, it's not just the studios, the fans and even the press, have created this cottage industry around busting anyone who does anything different... If you were in the restaurant business and you busted everyone every time they cooked a scallop or a steak or a piece of asparagus differently than the last guy, you would stop having good food, real soon.
"I sometimes think about, if someone says, 'Go ahead and sleep in this bed but don't move the pillow and don't move the covers that you don't even dream. You don't fall asleep. You don't dream.'
"The reality is that people need to make a decision whether they want a TV show, The world's most expensive TV show and star directors and actors to come in and be part of this TV show or whether they want people to extend themselves. Take risks every picture and see how different directors and actors interpreting these iconic roles that are a part of our culture change with different voices. And I think that for too long... If there was anything I hope we'd be like part of changing would be just saying, 'Shake it up. Let go.' And that example was created even in the comic book world. New artists would from would come on, from Frank Miller to Jim Krueger to the Neil Gaiman to on and on it goes.
"That artist would change and the sagas would change and the looks would change and the uniforms and costume would change. And the back stories would get altered. Lois Lane seemed perpetually 30 years old for 58 years and it didn't bother anyone. That people loved living in different interpretations of this world and somehow this idea of creating an impenetrably perfect universe got created and valued to the extent of every thing else. To the expense of everything else. And I think that if we were of any influence I don't think it should be that just every movie should be rated R. It's that every movie should be whatever way that particular story and characters. Create an interesting dream for the film makers and actors involved."
I 100% agree with Mangold! I would love to see the other studios like Marvel and DC start taking more risks with the comic book films they make. Marvel is currently in a groove that they aren't breaking away from anytime soon. They have a formula that is working, but how much better could their films be if they broke that formula and surprised fans with something totally different. I believe they taking more risks and experimenting with their Netflix series. It might be jarring at first in the films, but what if it turned out better than what they've been doing?
As for DC and Warner Bros., they are still in the process of getting a handle on their DCEU films, so they are totally in a place to take more risks and experiment, which I think they are actually doing by making films like Suicide Squad and Gotham City Sirens, as they are films that focus on villains.
I think Hollywood in general really needs to start shaking things up, taking risks, and experimenting on original film projects. Right now it's just a world of remakes, reboots, and sequels.
Director James Mangold Hopes LOGAN Will Open Up Comic Book Films to Risk and Experimentation
I've got a cool set of illustrations here created by artist Shawn Coss that puts a creepy monstrous spin on the Zodiac signs. Coss managed to conjure up some great creature designs. I've never really been into the whole Zodiac thing, but I appreciate the awesomeness of these. What do you all think of the designs he came up with?

Mission: Impossible 6 is scheduled for release next summer, and it'll be the first time a director — in this case, it's Chris McQuarrie — has returned to make a sequel in this franchise. One of the things McQuarrie did spectacularly well was introduce a wonderful female lead in Rebecca Ferguson's Ilsa Faust, and now it appears that he'll be bringing another leading lady into the spotlight in the still-officially-untitled M:I 6.
Variety reports that Vanessa Kirby is in final talks to play one of the new leads in the sequel, and though details are scarce, the report indicates that the role should be on the same level as Ferguson's last time around. That's a big part, and considering Ferguson is returning alongside franchise stalwarts Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, and of course, Tom Cruise, I'm starting to wonder if McQuarrie is in danger of including too many cogs in the wheel here. I'm not doubting his skills as a writer — Rogue Nation was great, and he's never given me reason to doubt him — but crafting a story with tons of characters like that takes a deft hand. It's definitely doable, especially if most of the supporting players have smaller roles, but it's also something to keep an eye out for.
Kirby stars as Princess Margaret on Netflix's The Crown, and she's appeared in movies like Me Before You, About Time, Jupiter Ascending, Charlie Countryman, and more.
Mission: Impossible 6 starts production next month and will hit theaters on July 27, 2018.

Disney is really sinking a lot into ensuring kids, parents, uncles and aunts know there is a new DuckTales on the way. I'm not complaining because I'm probably going to be watching it with my little niece here when it premieres this summer! A new trailer for the series has brought an unexpected character into the fray, Donald Duck! We never saw too much of Donald in the original series so it will certainly be interesting to see how he fits into the new series. I'm also a fan of the updated look and outfit, what about you?
Also have we ever established who Huey, Dewey, and Louie's parents are? Knowing Disney they're likely dead.

It's kind of crazy to think that in the 17 years that Hugh Jackman played Wolverine, he never put on the classic costume or the mask. He did an amazing job in the role, but it's kind of a shame that it never happened.
Jackman recently posted a photo of himself on Twitter holding the Wolverine mask that he never wore, and even in his retirement he still won't put the damn thing on and take a photo! The fans want to see him put it on!
At least he's still having fun teasing the fans.
