A new version of the Alien: Covenant trailer that was released a couple days ago has surfaced. This is more of a red-band trailer that includes a few bits of additional gory footage. One of the most notable clips used in it is a creepy shot of an Engineer that has completely been stripped of his skin. I'm not sure how that would fit into the story, but my first thought is that Michael Fassbender’s android David from Prometheus started doing some experimentation on the planet, which leads to seeing all of the different kinds of Xenomorphs that inhabit it. This is all just speculation on my part, but we'll see.
The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.
Alien: Covenant stars Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, Benjamin Rigby, and James Franco.
Alien: Covenant is set to open in theaters on May 19.

It looks like Lucasfilm's Han Solo: A Star Wars Story is about to get another great actor. Michael K. Williams, who has starred in The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, and The Night Of is in talks to join the film in a key role.
There are no other details on who he'd play, and it's hard to guess or speculate who his character could be. But judging by the films and TV shows that he's been in, it's safe to assume that he's going to play a shady character who resides in the underworld of the Star Wars universe.
If cast in the film, he'll join Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Woody Harrelson, and Emilia Clarke. The film is currently shooting and is being directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller from a script written by Jon and Lawrence Kasdan.
No story details have been released for the film, but we know it will explore Han and Chewbacca's adventures "before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope, including their early encounters with that other card-playing rogue from a galaxy far, far away, Lando Calrissian."
Williams is a solid actor, and it's awesome to see that he might actually end up in a Star Wars movie. The untitled Han Solo movie hits theaters May 25, 2018. To see a previously released photo of the cast packed into the Millennium Falcon, click here.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story gets the HISHE treatment, and as usual they're on point with their analysis! Why did they park so far away from the house?! I also really loved the Bane/Darth Vader comparison as that scene in The Dark Knight Rises always makes me laugh! There's always that one guy stupid enough to think he can go against the powerful villain! Check out the video below.

The post-credits scene for Kong: Skull Island has been revealed. Flickering Myth saw the scene ahead of the film's release on March 10th, and the most spoiler-free description I can give you is it sets up an epic monster showdown. Now...for the spoiler version.
The scene opens with Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson are being interrogated in a room in Monarch. They are shown the nuclear detonation footage that creates Godzilla, cave paintings of Rodan, Mothra, and King Ghidorah. The final painting shows Ghidorah and Godzilla fighting and then the film ends.
This is supposed to be a setup to the upcoming Godzilla: King Of Monsters, which is out in 2019! I'm super excited for that film, although I'm still on the fence as to whether I'll be seeing Kong: Skull Island in theaters...what about you?

I've got three awesome new TV spots and a clip from Ghost in the Shell for you to check out today! These are some promos that you've got to watch because they've got some cool new footage and they also offer some additional insight into the story. If you're excited about this movie or just curious, make sure to watch these! There are plenty of great new shots of Scarlett Johansson as The Major.
All the new footage that I've been seeing for this film continues to impress and it actually looks like director Rupert Sanders had a solidly developed story to work with when making the film. This could actually turn out to be the great movie fans are hoping for!
Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, "GHOST IN THE SHELL" follows the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic¹s advancements in cyber technology.
Ghost in the Shell also stars Michael Pitt, Juliette Binoche, “Beat” Takeshi Kitano, Michael Wincott, and Pilou Asbæk. It will be released on March 31st.

Jesica Henwick, the actress who plays Colleen Wing in Marvel's upcoming series Iron Fist, recently shared her experiences in dealing with script secrecy. The actress has appeared in some pretty high profile projects that include Game of Thrones and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. All of these projects require a certain level of secrecy so that no information leaks out, and she talked to Games Radar about the level of security to keep their secrets safe.
"Every time I take one of these jobs I think I’ve experienced it all in terms of secrecy, and then a new job goes and adds another level to it."
She then went on to talk about her experience with Lucasfilm and Disney while working on The Force Awakens, and it's seriously crazy! They go to great lengths to keep their info locked away. After reading this, it's hard to imagine how anything would leak out!
"On Star Wars it culminated in this four-hour session where they took my phone away and they took my bag and my coat so I had no belongings with me. They led me into this tiny room which had a safe in it, and inside the safe was one envelope, and it was sealed, and inside the envelope were my pages. The pages were red so you couldn’t photocopy them."
When it comes to Marvel and working on Iron Fist, it's not as intense, but there's still a verification process to read the scripts because they won't send them to you. She explained:
“They don’t send you the script, you’ve got to get an app on your phone to access the scripts and the app has to be double-verification, like they’ve got to call you and you’ve got to get the passcode!”
These are some drastic measures to keep a project's information safe. I honestly don't know how any information leaks out for these projects! It just must be the loose lips of people working on these shows and movies, people who have gone through this process of secrecy!

It looks like Disney is surprisingly looking to got back to the grid with a Tron reboot. We just recently posted some story details regarding director Joseph Kosinski's Tron 3, but it looks like Disney is opting to give Tron a fresh new start. According to THR, they are looking a casting Jared Leto (Suicide Squad) to star in the reboot.
According to inside sources, the new project is "not a direct sequel and is being built out of the source code of the deleted Tron 3 script." They go on to say that Leto would play a character named Ares, who hasn't appeared in any of the movies before, but "he was a key player in that script" for Tron 3.
I have so many mixed emotions about this! I love the Tron franchise, I loved how they moved it forward with Tron: Legacy, and I wanted to see that third chapter of the story happen. It looks like we could see a version of that story happen, or at least elements of it, but it won't be connected to the previously made films and that's what bugs me.
The project has not officially been given the greenlight yet, there's no writer attached and there's now word on if Kosinski or any of the other producers involved with Tron: Legacy will return. I hope that if Disney does move forward with it, they do some great. I'd love nothing more than to be surprised with a badass Tron reboot.
Disney is Looking to Reboot TRON with Jared Leto
It was recently announced that New Line Cinema has picked up the rights to a horror script that was written by up and coming writer Mike Van Waes. The setting for the film will take place in Oz from The Wizard of Oz.
THR got the exclusive scoop on this project and this is what they had to say:
The project, which is in the early development stages, will have ties to the universe created in the 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum that was adapted into the classic 1939 film starring Judy Garland.
Baum's story — about a young girl and her dog who are swept away to a magical world where she teams up with the Lion, the Tinman and the Scarecrow to face off against the Wicked Witch of the West — has been adapted numerous times over the years and also used as inspiration for various film, TV and stage stories. Along with the 1939 film, there most recently was the 2013 Disney live-action film Oz the Great and Powerful starring James Franco, and the characters have appeared on the ABC series Once Upon a Time. On stage, there was the 1975 musical The Wiz, and another hit show with Wicked, which began in 2003.
There is absolutely no other information on what this project is. We don’t know if it is a terrifying new take on the original story or if it is what Oz is like now. I would love to know. Anyone who knows me knows that the original Wizard of Oz is one of my all-time favorite movies. I am always interested in a new take or expansion of the Oz universe. For instance, if you haven’t read the Dorothy Must Die book series, do it. Totally fun to read and gives you a new perspective of life after Dorothy has killed the Wicked Witch.
Anyway, I have nothing to base an opinion on yet, but I hope that a horror flick set in Oz is as amazing as it sounds. We will keep you up to date on any further info that we can get on this.

Everything we've seen about season three of The Leftovers seems to indicate that shit is about to go down! That's further backed up by this new promo advertising the series on HBO. You'll see a lot of what was shown in the first trailer but also some very brief flashes of new footage as well. If you're as obsessed with this series as I am you'll appreciate it just as much as I did.
Are we finally going to see the end of the world? I guess we'll find out in April.

It's been over 26 years since James Cameron's Terminator 2: Judgement Day was released in theaters. Now fans will get the chance to see it for the first time in 3D this summer! We know that Cameron has talked about his desire to do a 3D conversion of the film, and now we'll finally get to see it on August 25th!
When previously talking about his desire to convert T2 over T1, Cameron explained:
"Terminator 1 I don’t think so because you could upgrade it to 3D but it’s still pretty gritty, available light photography, low budget filmmaking. We’d spend more converting it to 3D than we spent on the movie. That feels a little imbalanced to me.
"But Terminator 2 is a more polished film and, I think, it has a kind of timeless appeal. If there was someone who was interested in doing that, and we could make a good case for the business model like, perhaps let’s say, it’s never been on screens in China which in the next few years is about to become the biggest market for films worldwide. That alone might justify the cost of a conversion which might be 6 or 7 million dollars. And then a 3D re-release might attract some eyeballs in North American and Europe and then the Chinese release, which would be the first release on the big screen, might pay for it."
It's awesome that he was able to make this 3D conversion happen. I haven't seen T2 since it was first released in theaters in 1991! Now, 26 years later I'll get to see it on the big screen again, and this time in 3D! With Cameron overseeing the 3D conversion process, I know he's going to want it to look as perfect as it can be. I'm excited!

This past week Marvel has bombarded us with casting new for their ambitious Inhumans series. So far we've got Anson Mount (Hell on Wheels) playing Balck Bolt, Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones) playing Maximus the Mad, Serinda Swan (Smallville) taking on the role of the queen, Medusa, and Ken Leung playing Karnak, Black Bolt’s cousin and closest advisor.
The studio has now announced the rest of the main cast of the series, which will include the roles of Gorgon, Crystal, Triton, and Auran. Below you'll find a breakdown of each of these characters and who is playing them:
Eme Ikwuakor (“Concussion,” “Extant”) as Gorgon – Cousin of Black Bolt (Anson Mount), member of the Royal family, and leader of Attilan’s military. With super strong legs, complete with hooves, he can generate destructive seismic waves with a single stomp. The yin to his cousin Karnak’s (Ken Leung) yang, Gorgon would rather fight than talk to solve his problems.
Isabelle Cornish (“Australia Day,” “Puberty Blues”) as Crystal – Medusa’s (Serinda Swan) sister, Crystal is the youngest member of the royal family and has the ability to control the elements. Impetuous and independent she is also deeply devoted to her family.
Mike Moh (“Empire,” “Street Fighter: Assasin’s Fist”) as Triton – Black Bolt’s cousin, he’s calm under pressure and supremely athletic. His gift is his fish-like ability to live underwater.
Sonya Balmores (“Beyond the Break,” “Soul Surfer”) as Auran – Head of the Royal Guards on Attilan, a capable and no-nonsense woman. She is fiercely loyal to the King of Attilan.
Ellen Woglom (“Californication” “Outlaw”) as Undisclosed Character – smart, intense, and focused—so focused that oftentimes, social skills take a back seat. Her job at a private aerospace company is her life, second only to her passion for all things space and lunar. She’s primed to be swept up in an adventure.
Lockjaw as himself – Crystal’s 2,000 lb canine companion; he is a two-thousand-pound dog (yes, a dog!) with the ability to teleport.
Executive Producer Jeph Loeb had this to say about the casting in a statement:
"We’re thrilled with this cast. Eme, Isabelle, Mike, Sonya, and Ellen round out an incredible array of talent that will finally bring the Royal Family of the Inhumans to IMAX and ABC."
Executive producer and showrunner Scott Buck added:
"With Eme, Isabelle, Mike, Sonya, and Ellen portraying the rest of our leading roles, we have a strong cast that is going to add tremendous depth to our Royal Family."
The series explores the never-before-told epic adventure of the royal family including Black Bolt, the enigmatic, commanding King of the Inhumans, with a voice so powerful that the slightest whisper can destroy a city.
Feature director Roel Reine (Death Race 2, The Marine 2, The Lost Tribe, The Scorpion King 3) is set to helm the first two episodes of the series, which will be shot in IMAX and premiere in IMAX theaters on Labor Day weekend. The series will then start its eight episode run on ABC on Tuesday, September 26th, 2017. All eight episodes are expected to run on the network over consecutive Tuesdays, which means that the finale will air on Tuesday, November 14th, 2017.
Marvel Announces INHUMANS Casting for Gorgon, Crystal, Triton, Auran, and Lockjaw
Disney XD has released the first trailer for season two of their Guardians of the Galaxy animated series. It looks like we don't have to wait until Avengers: Infinity War to see the Guardians and the Avengers together onscreen. This trailer shows that they will collide in the animated series when the two superhero teams cross paths with each other.
I don't know if you watch this series or not, but to me, it just seems like wasted potential. It's a very cheaply made series, but the kids seem to enjoy it. There are some fun moments in it, but it could and should be so much better. If you're a fan of it, then this Avengers crossover seems like it'd be something to get excited about.
“Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy” season two will follow Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Groot on a mission to protect Star-Lord’s home planet of Earth, when they cross pass with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, the Avengers. After an epic battle, the two teams come together to save Earth from an alien mad scientist, The High Evolutionary, but inadvertently unleash an ancient weapon. With every alien baddie in the galaxy after this weapon, the Guardians must unlock its secrets before it destroys them and everything they’ve sworn to protect.
The series stars Will Friedle (“Boy Meets World”) as the quirky leader Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Trevor Devall (“Johnny Test”) as the temperamental, tough-talking Rocket Raccoon, Vanessa Marshall (“Star Wars Rebels”) as the unparalleled warrior Gamora, David Sobolov (“Transformers: Prime”) as the rough-edged warrior Drax the Destroyer and Kevin Michael Richardson (“The Cleveland Show”) as tree-like humanoid Groot.
The Guardians of the Galaxy animated series returns on March 11th with a one hour season premiere.

Disney has released the first photo of Emily Blunt in the role of Mary Poppins in Mary Poppins Returns. I always thought she was a perfect choice for the role, and after seeing this photo it solidifies the fact that it was inspired casting. Yeah, I know it's just a little photo tease but she looks great, and I'm sure it will spark some excitement among Mary Poppins fans.
The film is currently shooting in London and has a great cast that includes Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton, Moana), Ben Whishaw (SPECTRE), Emily Mortimer (Hugo), Julie Walters (Harry Potter films), Colin Firth (The King’s Speech), and Meryl Streep (Florence Foster Jenkins). Even Dick Van Dyke is in the film! He plays Mr. Dawes Jr., the chairman of Fidelity Fiduciary Bank. It was also recently announced that Angela Lansbury will play the Balloon Lady, a character from PL Travers’ original children’s books.
Set in 1930s depression-era London (the time period of the original novels), Mary Poppins Returnsis drawn from the wealth of material in PL Travers’ additional seven books. In the story, Michael (Whishaw) and Jane (Mortimer) are now grown up, with Michael, his three children and their housekeeper, Ellen (Walters), living on Cherry Tree Lane. After Michael suffers a personal loss, the enigmatic nanny Mary Poppins (Blunt) re-enters the lives of the Banks family, and, along with the optimistic street lamplighter Jack (Miranda), uses her unique magical skills to help the family rediscover the joy and wonder missing in their lives. Mary Poppins also introduces the children to a new assortment of colorful and whimsical characters, including her eccentric cousin, Topsy (Streep)
The film is being directed by Rob Marshall (Into the Woods, Chicago), and it will be released in theaters on December 25th, 2018.

I just recently started getting into these strategy card games, and they are a lot more fun than I thought they would be. Now Batman: The Animated Series is getting its own card game based on the classic episode "Almost Got 'Im."
This episode is considered one of the best episodes in the series as centered around Gotham’s villains playing a game of poker and sharing their stories about how they almost defeated Batman.
The game comes from Cryptozoic Entertainment, and it can be played by five to eight players. Each player takes on the role of one of the villains — Joker, Penguin, Riddler, Two-Face, Poison Ivy, and Killer Croc. If you've seen the episode, you know that one of them is an undercover Batman. Depending on each person's role, the players either attempt to reveal Batman or covertly take out the rogue's gallery of villains.
You can watch a video description below. This could be a fun game to play with a group of friends.

This piece of CG fan art created by artist Felipe Ferreira awesomely reimagines Donald Duck as an evil looking cyborg. The first thing I imagined when I saw this thing, was it tagging along with The Terminator as he's hunting down and trying to kill Sarah Connor in The Terminator. The thought of that just makes me smile.
