    fan-made-poster-art-for-an-animated-sequel-to-transformers-the-movie1

The animated film Transformers: The Movie traumatized me when I first saw it as a kid. It pretty much killed off all of my favorite characters, some of which met their demise in the first 10 minutes of the movie! Regardless of that, I did love the movie. The Transformers animated series tried to continue the story, but it was just never the same after that movie.

Artist Marco D'Alfonso created a poster for a non-existent sequel to the movie that he calls The Transformers: The Movie 2: The Dark Matrix. It's got a great title! I'd actually like to see a direct sequel to Transformers: The Movie that didn't involve anything that happened in the series afterwards...something totally new and fresh that picks up where the movie left off. It could and should totally be done!

We've got a new clip for you to check out for James Gunn's twisted new film The Belko Experiment. The story centers around a South American location of an American company called Belko. The office building houses 80 employees who are mysteriously sealed off one day and ordered to kill each other or be killed themselves.

In this clip that's been released, the co-workers gather together to discuss their options, none of which look good. Judging by the blood on the floor, it looks like the killing has already started. In the end, as we've seen in the trailers, we know some people will be going on a killing spree, while others fight to survive.

This movie looks like it going to be a violent and bloody good time. It has a great cast that includes Tony Goldwyn, Michael Rooker, Sean Gunn, Adria Arjona, John Gallagher Jr., John C. McGinley, David Dastmalchian, and Melonie Diaz.

The movie was directed by Greg McLean (Wolf Creek) from a script written by Gunn, and is set to be released in theaters on March 17, 2017.

    james-gunn-shares-a-new-behind-the-scenes-photo-from-guardians-of-the-galaxy-vol-21

Director James Gunn released another cool image from the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. It features Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Drax (Dave Bautista), and Gamora (Zoe Saldana) on board the Milano. The photo comes with the caption:

    "The Milano, in trouble."

Don't worry, I have a feeling all of our favorite characters are going to make it out of this movie alive. Remember, they're all supposed to show up to fight Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set to be released on May 5th and it can't get here soon enough! I'm especially excited after hearing the news of it getting a perfect score at a recent test screening.

Last year we learned that Bryan Cranston would be teaming up with Battlestar Galactica's Ronald D. Moore to develop a sci-fi anthology series called Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams. That series has now officially been picked up for 10 episodes by Amazon.

Cranston is set to produce and star in the series that will feature adaptations of the short sci-fi stories written by Dick. There are hundreds of stories by the author, many of which have already been adapted, but there are a lot that still have yet to be explored on the screen. There are no details on what specific stories they are looking at adapting for the series, but I'm sure they'll be good ones.

Moore will be writing the scripts for the series alongside Michael Dinner of JustifiedTravis Beacham (Pacific Rim), Tony Grisoni (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas), Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), Matthew Graham (Doctor Who), David Farr (The Night Manager), and Dee Rees (Bessie).

It's good to see that this series is actually moving forward. Dick has written some great stories and it will be awesome to see some of them adapted for this series. With the kind of talent that they have developing this show, it should turn out to be good!

Are there any specific stories that you'd like to see Moore and his team explore?

Most of the superheroes in the Marvel Universe reside in New York City, and as you know, New York City is not a cheap place to live. As I've watched the Marvel films and TV series, I've wondered how much these heroes pay for rent, and now thanks to this infographic all my rent questions have been answered!

It's interesting to note that Peter Parker would be paying more rent a month than Stephen Strange. I don't know how a young freelance photographer could afford $3,800 a month, but I guess that's just how he rolls. Strange is a freakin' surgeon and according to this breakdown, he's paying $3,600.

Some of the other heroes involved with this infographic include Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Jessica Jones. I have no idea how accurate this is, but it comes from Rent.com so I imagine they know what they're talking about.

DC has revealed their new line of DC Bombshells action figures and statuettes that are sure to burn a hole in your wallet if you're a collector. I'm a fan of the '40s style pinup take on DC's classic female characters. Over the past few years, they've exploded in popularity and they even have a fun new comic book series!

The toys made their debut this weekend at the New York Toy Fair, which I wish I was at right now. The photos you see here come from io9 and they offer some details on the figures as well.

The next wave of 6.75-inch Bombshells-themed toys include Hawkgirl, Supergirl, Batgirl, Bumblebee, Mera, and Katana, and they are all based on the original artwork of Ant Lucia. Each one will cost you around $25-30 when they're released later this year.

There are also two new statuettes being added to the line. One is a 12-inch deluxe Harley Quinn that will go for around $200 when it's released in September. The other one is of Teen Titan Starfire that will be released sometime next year. Check out all of the figures below!

Charlie Day stopped by Hot Ones to promote Fist Fight, and what started as a simple movie plug turned into a fantastic interview! In addition to Day eating a lot of wings, he also answers a bunch of candid questions about his life and other celebrities, and they're all amazing. I laughed quite a few times but I actually lost my composure when he talked about arm wrestling a friend for rights to a hookup and then ended up meeting his wife because of it! Check out the full video below.

    star-wars-obi-1-2-3-is-a-charming-numbers-book-for-the-kids

What better way to teach kids how to count than with the characters, creatures, aliens, and more from the Star Wars universe. I've got a preview for a charming little number book for kids called Star Wars Obi-1 2 3. The book was written by Calliope Glass and Caitlin Kennedy with art by Katie Cook.

The book counts from numbers 1 through 20 and each number comes with a cute poem and illustration. You can see a few examples of that below. StarWars.com interviewed Cook about the book and said:

"It comes from me LOVING Star Wars. Really. It’s a franchise I adore, so I try and put as much of stuff everywhere. Fun stuff. Weird stuff. Charming stuff. Cute stuff."

As far as seeing any future kids' books based on the characters from Rogue One, she says:

"You know, I don’t think we’ll see many kids books based off Rogue One characters. Ha. Although now I wish there was a pouty Krennic in a book someday, whining that the Death Star is his project and Tarkin is a meany."

Star Wars OBI-123 was released earlier this week and you can order it here.

The past weekend, the Toy Fair in New York City took place, and a bunch of awesome action figures and other toys were revealed. DC Collectibles showed off some awesome toys for the upcoming Zack Snyder-directed film Justice League!

One of the coolest things they showed off was the Justice League Ultimate Batmobile from Mattel, which is remote controlled. It even comes with a real exhaust that blows out freakin’ smoke! This is our first look at Batman’s ride in the new film, and it’s really not that different from the vehicle used in Batman v Superman. This thing will be going for $250, but it’s totally worth it! We've got some photos of that Batmobile below along with a video from Nerdist for you to check out where you get to learn all of the awesome details about the RC vehicle. .

I’ve also included some images of the Justice League premium 12-inch statues featuring Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Aquaman. The statues for the film will cost about $150 and are limited to a run of 5,000 per statue. You can check those out below as well.

DC movie fans, you have some cool stuff coming out for you to add to your collection.

    shockers-costume-revealed-in-spider-man-homecoming-promo-art1

We've known that Shocker would be one of the villains introduced in Spider-Man: Homecoming and that he would be played by Bokeem Woodbine. The character was teased in the international trailer as he wields some kind of power gauntlet. Now today, thanks to Eric Cameron Films, we've got a first look at Shocker's costume in the film thanks to some promo art he came across at New York Toy Fair.

We didn't really know if Herman Schultz, aka the Shocker, would actually be suiting up in Spider-Man: Homecoming, but it looks like he will, and he'll be sporting a comic-accurate black and yellow suit. The suit design isn't 100% the version from the comics, but it's still got that Shocker look to it.

3/4: New York Toy Fair 2017 was a blast! Thanks to @firstordertransmissions and @makingstarwars, I was lucky enough to attend @Hasbro's off-site event today, and was blown away! This is Hasbro's best year for Toy Fair by far, and all of the Hasbro staff members were a class act! They held an amazing theater presentation talking about everything that they have in store for the next few months. We got sneak peeks at all sorts of toys including new 40th Anniversary Star Wars figures, Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 figures, and of course, Spider-Man Homecoming figures! Once I got to the show floor, my jaw literally dropped to the floor when I saw how amazing all of these figures look, especially @TomHolland2013's 6" Marvel Legends Spidey figure with Peter's head. It looks exactly like Tom! When the event was over, Hasbro was kind enough to send everyone home with a gift bag with some toys including Star Wars Black Series Figures and Marvel Legends figures! I was fortunate enough to receive a Black Series Baze Malbus, and a new Marvel Legends Green Goblin! They look absolutely spectacular! Hasbro has really stepped up their game over the past few years, and I am so grateful to @firstordertransmissions and @makingstarwars for giving me the opportunity to attend this year! Thanks again Hasbro for making this an incredible Toy Fair! A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is set to be released on July 7th, 2017.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has already said that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was a standalone film and that it wouldn’t be getting a sequel. For those of you who saw the movie, you know (SPOILER!) a sequel involving all of the main characters would be very difficult to do unless they all came back as zombies.

Technically, the sequel to Rogue One is A New Hope, but there's going to be another sequel coming in the form a novel called Star Wars: Inferno Squad. This new Star Wars story is set directly after the events of Rogue One, which means it takes place concurrently with what is happening in A New Hope

Inferno Squad follows the story of “an elite Imperial squad and their mission following the events of Rogue One.” You can check out the official plot description below:

You don’t steal plans to the Death Star without making the Empire angry. We’ll learn how angry very soon. The Rebellion may have heroes like Jyn Erso and Luke Skywalker. But the Empire has Inferno Squad. After the humiliating theft of the Death Star plans and the resulting destruction of the battle station, the Empire is on the defensive. In response to this stunning defeat, the Imperial Navy has authorized the formation of an elite team of soldiers, known as Inferno Squad. Their mission: infiltrate and eliminate the remnants of Saw Gerrera’s Partisans. Following the death of their leader, the Partisans have carried on his extremist legacy, determined to thwart the Empire — no matter what the cost. Now, Inferno Squad must prove their status as the best of the best and take down the Partisans from within. But as the danger intensifies and the threat of discovery grows, how far will Inferno Squad go to ensure the safety of the Empire?

Sounds like a great story that I look forward to reading. Rogue One was such a great film, and the fact that we will get a new story that spawned from it is pretty awesome, especially because I wasn’t expecting it. The book was written by Christie Golden and is set to be released on July 25th, 2017. I seriously doubt it will be adapted into a film.

A new teaser trailer has been released for HBO's amazingly funny comedy Silicon Valley, and it offers us our first real story details. There are some surprising big and exciting things that are going to happen, and they have Jared screaming for joy.

This is one of the funniest comedies on TV, and if you haven't been watching, you're missing out on something special. The series comes from the mind of Mike Judge and is inspired by his own experiences as a Silicon Valley engineer in the late ‘80s. This is before the time he created series like Beavis and Butthead and King of the Hill

Season four will consist of ten episodes, and it looks like the adventures of Richard Hendricks (Thomas Middleditch) and his friends are about to take a fun an interesting turn.

The series also stars TJ Miller, Zach Woods, Kumail Nanjiani, Martin Starr, Josh Brener, Amanda Crew, Matt Ross, Suzanne Cryer, and Jimmy O. Yang. It's set to premiere on April 23rd.

With the recent terrible adaptation of Assassin’s Creed, Hollywood proves that it still has not learned how to make a proper video game movie. As of right now, my two favorites are Silent Hill and Warcraft. I also have a soft spot for the first Resident Evil movie. But for the most part, the studios and filmmakers developing the majority of the video game films just never can get it right.

One video game property that I always thought would make a badass film is Metal Gear Solid. The film has been in development for years, and as of right now, all we know is that Kong: Skull Island director Jordan Vogt-Roberts is attached to direct, and the script is being written by Jay Basu. We haven’t had any updates on the film since 2015 with the announcement of the writer, but the director recently sat down with We Got This Covered and offered an update.

The most important thing is that the movie is still in development, and he’s not going to be dropping out of it anytime soon because it’s a project that he fought to be a part of and now that he is, he’s not giving it up. He says:

“Metal Gear is something I’ve been attached to for a long time. It’s a movie I fought tooth and nail to try and attach myself to because it is potentially the most precious property on this Earth to me. And it is one of the most tricky and idiosyncratic properties on the planet, where the creator’s voice, Hideo Kojima, is a genius.”

The director goes on to explain why the property is so tricky to adapt:

“It would also be one of the easiest properties for Hollywood to mess up. Luckily, there are very smart producers on it. It’s the type of thing where it would be very easy for Hollywood to be like, ‘Oh, it’s like Mission: Impossible!’ No, it’s not Mission: Impossible. ‘It’s like G.I. Joe!’ No, it’s not G.I. Joe. Metal Gear Solid IS Metal Gear Solid and can only be Metal Gear Solid.
“It is an incredibly tricky thing to adapt because of how specific the tone is. Kojima’s tone is so brilliant in what it does. The tone of this movie at times could take itself very seriously, be very intense, and then next moment, it can be very goofy and very sort of out there. There is no other property on the planet that I would want to protect and shepherd more than the Metal Gear Solid property.”

It’s great to hear that he actually has an understanding and respect for Kojima’s work and it’s something that he wants to perfectly capture for the film and not screw up. He then adds:

“We are working on a script and have great producers. The goal is to get the script right and do justice to a movie that is unlike anything else that exists in movies or video games or anything. It’s one of the most influential properties in my life. And I’ve been fortunate enough to get to know the creator over the last couple of years. Just to be able to spend time with him is great.”

Hearing what Vogt-Roberts had to say here upped my excitement for the possibilities of this movie. It sounds like he knows what he wants from it. He just has such a great passion and that passion can definitely rub off on fans like me.

Of course, we’ve heard other filmmakers of video game film projects say the same things and have the same passion, then leave us disappointed. I know I shouldn’t get my hopes up, but this is one of those video games that I’d love to see a great movie for.

What do you think about what Vogt-Roberts says about adapting Metal Gear Solid? Do you think he’ll be able to pull it off?

After The Matrix Trilogy concluded with The Matrix Revolutions, I didn't expect to see any other sequels. However, The Wachowskis did leave a little tease at the very end after Keanu Reeves' Neo died so that the war between man and machine would end. At the end of the film, Sati asked, "Will we ever see him again?" And the Oracle replied, "I suspect so. Someday." That does leave the door open for a sequel if the Wachowskis ever got the urge to give the franchise a fourth chapter.

I have no idea if there has ever been any talk or consideration by anyone involved with The Matrix franchise, but if it ever did happen, Reeves seems like he'd be up for reprising his role under the right conditions. When talking to Yahoo Movies, the actor was asked if he what it would take for him to jump on board a fourth film and he said:

“The Wachowskis would have to be involved. They would have to write it and direct it. And then we’d see what the story is, but yeah, I dunno, that’d be weird, but why not? People die, stories don’t, people in stories don’t.”

I guess there's a chance that one day we could see another Matrix movie. After all, we've been seeing a lot of revivals recently of older properties. If it does happen, it's great to hear that Reeves would be up to reprise his role of Neo.

I've gotta say, it was really cool to see Reeves and Laurence Fishburne together up on the big screen again in John Wick: Chapter 2. That made me want to go back and watch The Matrix again, which is still a great movie! I might actually be ok with another chapter to the story if they have a great story that is as good as the first film.

Would you want to see a fourth Matrix film?

A new Japanese poster has been released for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and it features an adorable little Groot standing on a mountain of dynamite with an unlit match. I have no idea why he's joyously and innocently teasing that he's going to blow himself up, but that's what he's doing!

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set to be released on May 5th.
