The BBC has released an adventurous looking promo poster for the upcoming 2012 Doctor Who Christmas special, titled "The Snowmen." We've also got a photo featuring some of the episode's terrifying looking frosty villains.

The episode is set to air on Christmas Day, and will feature the first appearance of the Doctor's new companion, Clara. He will also will cross paths with the homo-reptilian Silurian Madame Vastra (Neve McIntosh) and her associate Jenny (Catrin Stewart). It was written by lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat (Sherlock), and it looks fantastic!

Christmas Eve 1892 and the falling snow is the stuff of fairy-tales. When the fairy-tale becomes a nightmare and a chilling menace threatens Earth, an unorthodox young governess, Clara, calls on the Doctor for help. But the Doctor is in mourning, reclusive and determined not to engage in the problems of the universe. As old friends return, will the Doctor really abandon humankind or will he fight to save the world – and Christmas – from the icy clutches of this mysterious menace.

If you haven't seen the trailer for the episode yet, or you just want to watch it again, check it out below! This is sure to be a fun and exciting episode!

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Set to Play Batman in JUSTICE LEAGUE?

$

Ever since The Dark Knight Rises was released and ended with Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character taking over for Batman, there was a ton of speculation that the actor would be the next Batman. Now, according to an inside source, it looks like this might actually be the case.

Hitfix reports that "Joseph Gordon-Levitt absolutely will be appearing in Justice League as the new Batman." Apparently the studio is in talks with the actor and solidifying deals for Gordon-Levitt and at least one other actor from the Nolan Batman films. No word on who that will be, but I imagine if this is true it would have to be Gary Oldman, it's the only other character that makes sense.

We've got awhile before Justice League gets made, but we might not have to wait until 2015 to see Gordon-Levitt as the Caped Crusader. There's a possibility that he could show up in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel. Snyder recently hinted at a connection between the two films. The site speculates that he could appear during the closing credits of the film. "How crazy do you think fans would go if Superman were to take to the skies at the end of Man Of Steel, finally ready to fully accept his role as mankind's most powerful protector, only to have the closing credits interrupted when something catches his attention and he swoops down out of that sky, landing on a rooftop where Jim Gordon stands next to the Bat-Signal, interrupting just as the new Batman arrives for a chat about Gotham's latest problem?" I'm not sure if Man of Steel fits in with Nolan's timeline though. Remember, The Dark Knight Rises took place 8 years after the events of The Dark Knight

As cool as it sounds to see Gordon-Levitt in the role of Batman in Man of Steel and Justice League, I'm not going to get my hopes up, and it doesn't really make sense to me. We've heard a lot of conflicting reports about how Justice League will be handled. We previously heard that Justice League would actually be the launching point of the new rebooted Batman. I just don't see how Bruce Wayne couldn't be a part of this universe, and that's one of the main reasons why I doubt this rumor is true. Bruce Wayne and Superman need to meet, and Bruce Wayne needs to be the Batman that is involved with Justice League, and the rest of the DC universe. It just seems like Nolan's Robin/Batman would throw everything off outside of his trilogy. It worked for Nolan's films, but I don't think Nolan's Batman universe fits in with the rest of the DC universe.

I guess we'll find out sometime in the near future if there is any truth to this rumor. In the mean time would you like to see Gordon-Levitt as the next Batman in Man of Steel and Justice League? Do you think Nolan's Robin/Batman would work with the rest of the DC universe?

LES MISERABLES - French Poster and Review Round-Up

Universal Pictures has released a classy looking new French poster for Tom Hooper's Les Miserables, which recently had a couple of press screenings. The movie has been blowing up with positive buzz, so anyone that's looking forward to the film will be happy to know that you'll most likely end up really liking it. It sounds like most people believe that Anne Hathaway has the Best Supporting Actress award in the bag with this one. I've included some of these reviews from around the internet for you to read through.

The musical epic also stars Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Aaron Tveit, Samantha Barks, Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen.

Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption—a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. Jackman plays ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Crowe) after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine’s (Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.

The movie will be released on December 25th, and here are the reviews...

Mike Ryan - Huffington Post

I will say, as a complete novice to the world of Les Miz (I've decided to go with Les Miz, by the way), I thought the film was wonderful and found myself momentarily confused only a handful of times. (This is arguably my fault for being easily confusable.) My personal favorite movie this year is still Argo, but after seeing Les Miz, my gut is telling me that it will beat both Argo and Lincoln for Best Picture. And the talk you may or may not have heard about Anne Hathaway being a shoo-in for Best Supporting Actress as Fantine is true. (Though, again, not knowing anything about Les Miz, I was honestly shocked by how little she is in this movie.)

Tom O'Neil - Gold Derby

Reviews are embargoed until Dec. 11 so it's tricky to discuss the film, but here goes. The audience flipped for it. It's (nearly) everything that "Les Miz" nuts hoped for. Eddie Redmayne is the big surprise. His performance wows and, yikes, who knew he could sing like that? Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter try to steal the film -- and the contents of every pocket in 19th-century Paris. But Carter can't win. Anne Hathaway has Best Supporting Actress in the bag and Hugh Jackman poses a serious threat to Daniel Day-Lewis' dominion over Best Actor.

Scott Feinberg - Hollywood Reporter

Whether or not the use of actors' live on-set singing (as opposed to re-recording it in post-production) actually enhances the believability of a film more than it compromises the quality of the music, audiences seem to have been sold on the former, thanks in large part to Universal's recent featurette about the practice. Moreover, any "first" makes for a great talking-point on the awards season campaign trail. (Incidentally, all of the musical numbers were also shot in close-up and uninterrupted takes.)

Steve Zeitchik - LA Times:

There will be plenty of review takes later, so suffice to say that in-between the movie offers some rousing emotion and vivid set pieces, uneven pacing and the sight of Russell Crowe singing. (He's fine as the law-enforcing Javert but, like Hugh Jackman’s Jean Valjean and the other males in the cast, pales next to the women, Amanda Seyfried’s Cosette and particularly Anne Hathaway’s Fantine, whose single-take, close-up "I Dreamed a Dream" is bound to bring down multiplexes and land her on Oscar ballots.) Other Kleenex-producing musical numbers include the large-scale “Do You Hear The People Sing?," offered in reprise later in the film. (Samantha Barks' "On My Own” did not have the same effect on this reporter; others may disagree.)

Don Cheadle is Back as CAPTAIN PLANET!

"Captain Planet turned my daughter into a tree."

Don Cheadle has reprised his role as Captain Planet in Funny or Die's hilarious sequel, Captain Planet 2! In this sequel Captain Planet is crazier than ever, and expanding his powers. I'll admit, I was never a big fan of Captain Planet until Cheadle stepped into the role.  Just because the character is eco-friendly doesn't make him a cool superhero.

Check out the sequel below, and if you haven't seen the first one yet, click here.

You got to love the guys over at Robot Chicken and their ability to make anything funny. This time they have made a hilarious short based on the new game, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. Now at first I thought this would be a full on lengthy skit, but it seems that it’s more of a commercial. But either way, it’s still funny regardless.

With Robot Chicken taking on Star Wars and DC Comics in TV specials, it’s about time we got some video game specials as well. I would definitely tune in.

Check out this awesome sci-fi animated  short called Dark Vessel, which is packed full of bloody robot murder, mysticism, reincarnation and revenge. The film was made by Rocky Curby, and here's the synopsis:

A hopeless romantic is caught trespassing while trying to woo a girl. Problems occur when the girl's father forces him to remove a dead man's shadow. Tragically, the romantic becomes a vessel of death.

This is such a cool film! I seriously wasn't expecting what I got when I sat down to watch this film. It's brutally violent, and the fact that it features animated robots that can bleed is really fun. Check it out!

The Weinstein Company has released two new extended TV spots for Quentin Tarantino's badass looking film Django Unchained. One of them is called "Let's Get to it", the other is an international trailer. Both of which feature some great moments from the film.

The film stars Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo Dicaprio, Kerry Washington, James Remar, Don Johnson, Franco Nero, Walton Goggins, Bruce Dern, M.C. Gainey, RZA, Tom Savini, Michael Bacall, Dennis Christopher and Laura Cayouette

Django Unchained will be released on December 25th, and there's no doubt that it's going to be an extremely fun and entertaining film. Will you be seeing this movie or Les Miserables on Christmas Day?

Synopsis:

Set in the South two years before the Civil War, "Django Unchained" stars Academy Award®-winner Jamie Foxx as Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Academy Award®-winner Christoph Waltz). Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles – dead or alive.

Success leads Schultz to free Django, though the two men choose not to go their separate ways. Instead, Schultz seeks out the South’s most wanted criminals with Django by his side. Honing vital hunting skills, Django remains focused on one goal: finding and rescuing Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), the wife he lost to the slave trade long ago.

Django and Schultz’s search ultimately leads them to Calvin Candie (Academy Award®-nominee Leonardo DiCaprio), the proprietor of “Candyland,” an infamous plantation where slaves are groomed by trainer Ace Woody (Kurt Russell) to battle each other for sport. Exploring the compound under false pretenses, Django and Schultz arouse the suspicion of Stephen (Academy Award®-nominee Samuel L. Jackson), Candie’s trusted house slave. Their moves are marked, and a treacherous organization closes in on them. If Django and Schultz are to escape with Broomhilda, they must choose between independence and solidarity, between sacrifice and survival...

Danielle Fishel Writes Heartfelt Letter to BOY MEETS WORLD Fans

If you’re like myself, then you grew up on ABC’s T.G.I.F. block of shows. I mean, who didn’t love Family Matters, Step by Step, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, Hangin' With Mr. Cooper and of course Boy Meets World?!

News broke yesterday that both Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel would be reprising their roles as Cory and Topanga. Now Fishel has even written a very heartfelt letter to all the adoring fans who grew up on this show.  You can read it in its entirety below, but she mainly touches on what we can expect from the new show and how it will be different.

She says that she has no idea who else from the original show will return. With William Daniels (better known as Mr. Feeny) still acting, most recently seen on a stint in Grey’s Anatomy these past weeks, one would think he would return. I remember hearing an interview on SiriusXM with Fishel, where she disclosed that the whole cast is still very close to this day and often talk to each other. So who knows, maybe Savage and Fishel will try to coerce other former cast members to return as well.

Here’s one thing that may shock you all. Remember Angela from the show? She was in a relationship with Shawn, Cory’s best friend. Well the actress that played her, Trina McGee, looks very different these days. Take a look below and prepare for your jaw to drop.

Danielle Fishel’s full letter to Boy Meets World fans:

First of all, let me say that you, the fans of Boy Meets World, have been awesome.  That word is often used incorrectly by people, including myself, on a daily basis but you have truly been awe inspiring.  You, yes, even YOU, are the reason that Girl Meets World WILL BE MADE.

I do not know how many BMW cast members will be returning for GMW, or how often they may appear if and/or when they do appear.  I am going to do my best to not speak for others with this open post.    But because I have known Michael Jacobs, Ben Savage, Rider Strong, Will Friedle, and Bill Daniels for 19 years, I know we share many of the same feelings regarding the 7 wonderful years we spent making BMW. Those years were among the most warm, hilarious, insightful, educational years of my life and I wouldn’t trade them for the world.  Another thing I wouldn’t trade for anything is the integrity and the heart with which BMW was made.  I promise with the entirety of my heart that we will make GMW with the same honesty, innocence, and intelligence that you learned to expect from BMW.

I say this because making the decision to do the show involved more conversations than you can possible imagine.  These conversations were with the same people I mentioned above because they were all instrumental in creating and maintaining the heart of BMW.  The first comment out of every person’s mouth was, “Let’s only do it if we think we can create something as special as we did with BMW.”  When the news leaked that GMW was in the making, literally days after I first heard about the project myself, Michael Jacobs and I had a conversation and we talked about how we were both so blown away by the reactions from all of you.  We felt honored. We felt nostalgic. We felt touched by the excitement in your comments, tweets, Tumblr, and Facebook posts.  But most of all, we felt inspired.  We felt inspired to bring these characters back to life and to tell you more of their stories. Michael said to me, “Danielle, when I read what people say BMW meant to them it makes me so very proud of all of us.  I think it is important for us, for as long as we are fortunate enough to have this opportunity to do GMW, that we all look each other in the eyes every so often and make sure we know we have something of value to offer the audience.”  I think we have that with GMW.

I say that so that I can say this: GMW is a new show.  It isn’t BMW brought back to life but in current day.  It will have familiar faces, familiar themes, and familiar messages.  It will also have new faces, new themes, and new messages. BMW never spoke down to the audience and we are going to do our best to never do that with GMW.  But please keep in mind that this there will be episode 1, of season 1, of a brand new show.  We started at the same place with BMW but we evolved and we evolved quickly.  For those of you who knew and loved BMW, please allow this show to evolve as well.  Stick with us. Give us a chance.

In the meantime, a sincere thank you to every one of you for all of your tweets (I read them all, every day. It killed me not to be able to talk about it!), even those of you who asked us not to do it. There were only a few of you but I know why you don’t want GMW to happen and I appreciate that BMW meant enough to you that you don’t want to see its legacy tarnished. I can assure you, we don’t want that either. Your love, dedication, and appreciation means more to us than you could ever know and it will be the driving force behind our passion to make the best show we can possibly make. Thank you for giving us the chance to do it again.

Love,

Danielle

Ridley Scott's THE FOREVER WAR Gets a New Scribe

Ridley Scott has been working on developing a big screen adaptation of the book The Forever War for about 25 years. The last thing I heard about the film was back in 2010 when Blade Runner scribe David Peoples was hired to write the script. It's now being reported that the film is now going to be written by D.W. Harper who most recently worked on Tom Cruise's sci-fi film All You Need Is Kill.

The sci-fi novel was written by Joe Haldeman in 1974, and Scott described it is as “a science-fiction epic, a bit of The Odyssey by way of Blade Runner, built on a brilliant, disorienting premise.” Scott was originally supposed to make that film after he made Blade Runner and Alien, but it didn't happen due to some rights issues. Fox 2000 now owns the rights to the book, and it looks like it's finally moving forward.

I'm looking forward to seeing Scott take on the challenge of bringing this story to the big screen. I'm sure he'll end up doing a great job with it. Hopefully Harper can pump out a solid script!

For those of you not familiar with the story, here is the description of the book:

The Earth's leaders have drawn a line in the interstellar sand--despite the fact that the fierce alien enemy they would oppose is inscrutable, unconquerable, and very far away.  A reluctant conscript drafted into an elite Military unit, Private William Mandella has been propelled through space and time to fight in the distant thousand-year conflict; to perform his duties and do whatever it takes to survive the ordeal and return home.  But "home" may be even more terrifying than battle, because, thanks to the time dilation caused by space travel, Mandella is aging months while the Earth he left behind is aging centuries...

Terrifyingly Hilarious Ghost Girl Elevator Prank

One of my favorite things to do growing up was to scare the hell out of my brothers by rigging their bedroom up like a haunted house. Sheesh, I still like trying to scare them! My most recent prank involved a creepy 3 foot tall doll.

There's a little ghost girl elevator prank from Brazil that's recently hit the internet that is both terrifying and hilarious! Terrifying for the victims in the elevator, and hilarious for those of us that get to watch those people in a terrified state. I won't lie, something like this would scare the crap out of me if I were put in this situation! Check it out!

First Look at Arena Costumes in THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE

Some new set photos from Hawaii have hit the internet giving us our first look at Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss), Josh Hutcherson (Peeta), Lynn Cohen (Mags) and Sam Claflin (Finnick) sporting their new arena costumes in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. For those of you who have read the book, it looks like they are filming the Cornucopia scene. I think the costume designs are pretty cool. It was recently revealed that all of the arena scenes in the movie are being shot in IMAX.

The movie is set to be released in theaters and IMAX on November 22nd, 2013. What do you think of the costume designs?

The movie also stars Liam Hemsworth, Lenny Kravitz, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Toby Jones, Woody Harrelson, Jena Malone, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amanda Plummer, Patrick St. Esprit, Meta Golding, Bruno Gunn, Alan Ritchson, E. Roger Mitchell, Maria Howell, Stephanie Leigh Schlund and Jeffrey Wright.

Here's the Synopsis:

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour' of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) - a competition that could change Panem forever.

ASSASSIN'S CREED III Made to Look Like A Comic Book

If you think about it, the Assassin's Creed universe would benefit from a comic series. If there is already one of these, you'll have to excuse me, but I think that with the science fiction backdrop, the series would do well with an extended universe. Seeing this artistic interpretation of Assassin's Creed III makes me think of all the cool stuff that could be done with the series. Then again, we don't want there be an over-saturation of the universe.

This artwork was done by Deviant Art user, Carlos Gomez.

Also, I would really like to see that axe make contact. Such a tease, bro.

Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart Join X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST!

Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart will officially be reprising their roles as Professor X and Magneto in Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past! The director announced the news on his Twitter account...

That's so freakin' cool! The fact that the film has a time travel plot made me hope that we would see some of the other actors from the original X-Men films reprise their roles. The fact that McKellen and Stewart will be back is huge news for fans! This is exciting stuff! It will be interesting to see who else they end up casting from the original movies!

The storyline alternates between present day, in which the X-Men fight Mystique's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and a future timeline caused by the X-Men's failure to prevent the Brotherhood from assassinating Senator Robert Kelly. In this future universe, Sentinels rule the United States, and mutants live in internment camps. The present-day X-Men are forewarned of the possible future by a future version of their teammate Kitty Pryde, whose mind traveled back in time and possessed her younger self to warn the X-Men. She succeeds in her mission and returns to the future, but despite her success, the future timeline still exists as an alternative timeline rather than as the actual future.

Fox hopes to release Days of Future Past on July 18th, 2014.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is Not Involved with JUSTICE LEAGUE

$

A rumor was recently reported that Joseph Gordon-Levitt would be playing Batman in Warner Bros' Justice League film and possibly make an appearance in Man of Steel

The rumor stated that "Joseph Gordon-Levitt absolutely will be appearing in Justice League as the new Batman." Well as I expected, the news turned out to be false. Gordon-Levitt's reps have flat out denied that the actor has any kind of involvement with Justice League. Hollywood.com followed up with his reps who "have refuted the rumor entirely." So there you have it.

It would have been nice, but like I said in the original write-up, it makes no sense for Bruce Wayne not to be involved with Justice League. He's a key component to the team, and I just don't see how Justice League could exist without him. I also don't see Levitt's character outside of the universe that Christopher Nolan has created.

If this information was leaked out by studio insiders, maybe it was just to help create some buzz for the upcoming Blu-ray/DVD release of The Dark Knight Rises

Warner Bros. has revealed the first film clip from Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, and in it we see Gandalf (Ian McKellen) giving Bilbo (Martin Freeman) the sword Sting. The sword is eventually handed down to Frodo in The Lord of the Rings.

The movie hits theaters December 14th in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D which will be presented in 48fps in certain locations. Here's the first clip!

Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakenshield. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers.

Although their goal lies to the East and the wastelands of the Lonely Mountain first they must escape the goblin tunnels, where Bilbo meets the creature that will change his life forever…Gollum.

Here, alone with Gollum, on the shores of an underground lake, the unassuming Bilbo Baggins not only discovers depths of guile and courage that surprise even him, he also gains possession of Gollum’s "precious" ring that holds unexpected and useful qualities … A simple, gold ring that is tied to the fate of all Middle-earth in ways Bilbo cannot begin to know.

First Crazy Look at V/H/S Anthology Horror Sequel

I really enjoyed the first V/H/S anthology horror film, my favorite story in the movie was the Halloween haunted house story. A sequel is currently in the works called S-VHS and we have your first bloody look at one of the films in production.

There's some great directors taking on segments of this film that include Gareth Evans (The Raid); director Eduardo Sanchez (The Blair Witch Project) and Jason Eisener (Hobo With a Shotgun)Timo Tjahjanto (Macabre); Adam Wingard (You’re Next and A Horrible Way to Die); Simon Barrrett (V/H/S writer) and Sanchez’s producing partner Gregg Hale.

The image you see above is from the segment being directed by Evan and Tjahjanto. It looks like it's going to be pretty insane. The sequel follows a similar structure as the first film, with a pair of investigators discovering a tape while looking for a student.
