Sundance Review: The South Rises and Invades New York in Dave Bautista's BUSHWICK
Dave Bautista and Brittney Snow star in this crazy intense action thriller called Bushwick. Like most films at Sundance, I knew absolutely nothing about this movie before going to see it, and I ended up thoroughly enjoying it!
Bushwick is a non-stop action thriller that follows Bautista and Snow as they fight to survive an army invasion in Bushwick, New York. At first, neither of them know what's going on, but as they continue on their insane journey, they learn that the south has risen again. Texas and a few of the other southern States want to secede from the rest of the country so that they can maintain the America that they love. As the way to force the government to grant them their secession, they invade Bushwick, New York to hold it hostage, but when the citizens fight back, the army is ordered to shoot and kill all who get into their way.
There is absolute chaos, destruction, and death happening all around them as they attempt to make it across the city to an extraction point where US troops will take them to safety by helicopter.
It's a fascinating concept, and it's something that could very well eventually happen somewhere down the line if things in America continue to escalate the way that they have recently. The movie serves as a great commentary on what we are seeing these days. I've been seeing more and more people talk about a new Civil War, and if it did happen, it might look like what this movie portrays.
This is a hardcore film that doesn't hold back on the brutality of war. One of the things that I liked about it was that it was filmed in a way that made it look like there were extremely long takes. The camera follows the characters as they venture through this deadly war zone where it seems like they are constantly being shot at. It kinda plays out like a war video game would. That's what it reminded me of.
Bautista and Snow both give decently solid performances. Nothing award worthy, but they definitely fit the characters they play. This was a fun, fast-paced movie that I enjoyed, and I recommend that you check it out when it eventually gets released.

Here Are Two Apollo 17 Astronauts Singing on the Moon
If YouTube were a thing in 1972, this definitely would have gone viral! Two astronauts on the Apollo 17 mission get to singing while they are hopping around the Moon, and it's just an amazing thing to watch. My favorite part is when one of the guys comments that he is skipping and the other dude gets SUPER uptight about the implication he's doing the same thing! It's a short and sweet 30 seconds worth your time, check it out below.

STRANGER THINGS Star Millie Bobby Brown Cast in GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS
Legendary Pictures has announced that they've cast Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown in Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Earlier this week, it was reported that Trick 'r Treat director Michael Dougherty would helm the next installment in the franchise.
Brown is the first cast member who has officially joined the movie. There's no information on the plot of the film or her character, but I imagine she'll play a major part in the story Dougherty has planned.
This will also be Brown's first big movie role since her popularity exploded playing the character Eleven in Stranger Things, which earned her a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination.
Godzilla: King of Monsters is currently set to be released on March 22, 2019, and that will be followed by Godzilla vs. Kong, which will be released on May 29, 2020.

Samkwok workshop is at it again, and he's created this incredibly badass custom-designed Optimus Prime action figure. He took the original Toys Alliance MAS-01 Mega Action Optimus and then transformed it into this piece of awesomeness. I wish more toy companies would just make the extra effort to make their toys look like this in the first place.

Trailer for Lifetime's Britney Spears Movie BRITNEY EVER AFTER
Lifetime has released the first trailer for their upcoming Britney Spears movie Britney Ever After. It focuses on the pop star's rise to fame, the point where she hit rock bottom, and then how she pulled herself out of the rut she found herself in and back into the spotlight. These Lifetime movies are ridiculous, but people sure do love to watch them.
Britney Jean Spears was just a young girl from Louisiana trying to make a name for herself in the music scene when her talent became undeniable to all those around her. While handlers soon began planning her every move, Britney found solace with fellow pop singer Justin Timberlake. Tragically, as Britney’s star continued to shine, her private life crumbled after the divorce of her parents and her tabloid breakup with Justin. Her personal behavior soon eclipsed her pop icon success as a quickie marriage to childhood friend and later, an ill-fated marriage to dancer Kevin Federline, became the talk of the world. With her life spiraling out of control, Britney hit rock bottom, lost custody of her sons and was placed under her father’s conservatorship. But despite her past troubles, Britney has battled back to rebuild her career to its former glory, proving to everyone that she’s a timeless force in entertainment.
Britney is played by Natasha Bassett in the film, and I'm sure fans will want to check it out. Britney Ever After premieres on February 18th.

Cool Teaser and Poster Art for GHOST IN THE SHELL - "They Didn't Save Your Life"
While we wait for another trailer to be released for the live-action adaptation of Ghost in the Shell, here's a cool new poster and promo teaser that you can check out. The teaser features Scarlett Johansson as Major Motoko Kusanagi, and it teases one of the many alterations that have been made to her.
It seems like fans are actually warming up to this movie. I've been seeing more positive conversations about it online than negative. I grew up on this franchise, I'm a huge fan, and I'm excited to see more of what director Rupert Sanders has done with adapting this story for the big screen.
The story follows the Major, "a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology."
Ghost in the Shell is set to be released on March 31st.

Anime Artist Transforms His Sons' Drawings into Awesome Character Designs
Anime artist Thomas Romain has created a wonderful series of character designs that are based on original drawings created by his two sons. He calls this little series of his the “Father and Sons Design Workshop,” and it's pretty incredible to see him bring the full vision of his sons designs to life like this. His kids have gotta be loving this. It also is encouraging them to use their imaginations.

Check Out This Snazzy and Unique STAR WARS Skater Action Figure
Here's a crazy flashy and unique Star Wars action figure that features a skater all decked out as C-3PO with R2-D2 as his board. It was a custom job created by CHOGY, and there are only 20 handmade sets available for sale. I love the attention to detail that was put into the creation of these figures. They turned out pretty sweet.

Ridley Scott Is Producing a Vampire Series Called THE PASSAGE
Fox is developing a new series with producer Ridley Scott that actually sounds pretty interesting. It's a vampire series called The Passage, and it's based on the fantasy book written by Justin Cronin. The series is also being developed by Liz Heldens (Friday Night Lights) and Matt Reeves (Rise of the Planet of the Apes).
Heldens wrote the script for the pilot episode, and according to Deadline, "The Passage begins as a character-driven government conspiracy thriller and morphs into a post-apocalyptic saga with vampires. The series spans over a century and focuses on a young girl named Amy who must save the human race."
Sounds like it could have a Buffy the Vampire Slayer kind of vibe, which is kinda cool. With the team of talent developing the series, it has potential to be great and entertaining series.
The book trilogy was originally being adapted into a movie by Scott Free Productions back in 2007, but the producers eventually felt like it would work better as a series, which is probably the right move. Right now a lot of TV shows are proving to be better than movies. Here's the description of the book:
An epic and gripping tale of catastrophe and survival, The Passage is the story of Amy—abandoned by her mother at the age of six, pursued and then imprisoned by the shadowy figures behind a government experiment of apocalyptic proportions. But Special Agent Brad Wolgast, the lawman sent to track her down, is disarmed by the curiously quiet girl and risks everything to save her. As the experiment goes nightmarishly wrong, Wolgast secures her escape—but he can’t stop society’s collapse. Radical G.I. JOE Cartoon Character Cosplay Video
I've got an awesome cosplay video for you to check out featuring several cosplayers dressed up as G.I. Joe characters from the classic '80s series. The video was shot at DragonCon as a tribute to their fallen friend. I am a huge G.I. Joe fan, I rarely see G.I. Joe cosplay like this, and I'm completely blown away by the costumes in this video. VIKINGS Star Travis Fimmel Developing WYATT EARP Series for History Channel
Vikings star Travis Fimmel has found his next big TV project with The History Channel. He's teaming up with the network to develop a scripted series that tells the legendary stories of Wyatt Earp and other "iconic sinners and anti-heroes throughout history."
Fimmel wrote the first episode of the series and will take on the role of Earp. The first installment "will focus on Earp, from his days in Dodge City and his relationships with Doc Holliday and Bat Masterson, to the real story of what happened during the legendary gunfight at the OK Corral."
I went on a Wyatt Earp history binge after I saw Tombstone for the first time. There are so many incredible stories to tell about his life, and I am stoked that we are going to get a series that focuses on those stories.
Arturo Interian, History’s SVP of scripted programming had this to say in a statement:
“Travis is a remarkable actor and we’re honored to continue our relationship with him after his recent magnetic performance on ‘Vikings’. Just as Travis brought a completely fresh and unexpected approach to his character Ragnar Lothbrok, this would be an unconventional portrayal of Earp like you’ve never seen. We intend to capture the violent spirit of the great Sergio Leone films through telling the true story of criminal turned lawman.”
Fimmel added his two cents, saying:
“I’ve always been fascinated with what motivates people’s transgressions and the scandalous journey into infamy. I wanted to re-examine stories people think they know without the rose-colored glasses of Hollywood and let the audience decide for themselves if people like Wyatt Earp were sinners or victims of life circumstances.”
I'm 100% on board with this and I can't wait to see how it turns out!

This is a clothing line for serial killers as the clothes and accessories are made to look like they are made out of human skin, faces, and other body parts sewn together in a gnarly manner. Netflix Drops Teaser Trailer and Release Date for Their Thriller 13 REASONS WHY
At first glance, I clicked on this trailer because I thought Netflix had a project with Kristen Stewart on the way and quickly realized that is Katherine Langford who just has that pout look down! I ended up staying because the premise of Netflix's new series 13 Reasons Why sounds pretty good! Here's the description...
Based on the best-selling books by Jay Asher, the Netflix Original Series 13 Reasons Why follows Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) as he returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker—his classmate and crush—who tragically committed suicide two weeks earlier. On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Will Clay be one of them?
The whole thing looks to be a teen drama fest, and I watch a lot of CW so obviously I'm down. Will you be watching March 31st?
