I Have No Idea What's Happening in the New YU-GI-OH Movie Trailer... But I Like It

Last I checked in on the Yu-Gi-Oh universe there was some new kid throwing dice and riding a motorcycle. Somewhere between then and now, Yugi and the gang are back to face someone who I think is trying to banish the world to the Shadow Realm? Without giving out spoilers, I can say that essentially...yes this is what Yu-Gi-Oh: The Dark Side Of Dimensions is about. The film was released last year in Japan and was meant to be a one-off reunion of sorts for the fans to see their beloved characters once again.

Visually it looks like the series was given an upgrade, and even though it sounds like the same story as always, I have to admit the trailer got me a little excited.

For those that haven't seen it yet, everyone you love from the original series looks to be back in tow! Check out the English trailer below and look for a showtime in your area when it comes to the states January 27th through February 9th!

Here's What 2016 Would Look Like As a Horror Movie

We've experienced some major celebrity deaths in 2016, but I don't know about you, but I'm getting really tired of people blaming the year itself as if it's some sort of sentient creature stalking our icons and taking them away too soon. But instead of making a "clever" quip on Twitter about it, the team at Friend Dog Studios actually came up with a creative way to channel their displeasure with the past twelve months: imagining what a horror movie might look like that did feature 2016 as a personified, sentient killer. My favorite part? The slowed down, creepy cover of "Auld Lang Syne" — that's another cliche that should go away immediately, but it's still in full swing and it works exceptionally well here.

According to Ben Mendelsohn There Are "Enormously Different" Versions of STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE

We all know about the drastic reshoots that were done for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. A lot of the footage that was replaced can be seen in the trailers that were released for the film. A lot of that footage was part of the final act of the film. There was obviously a different outcome of the story. We don't know the details on what this original ending entailed, but in an interview with Collider, actor Ben Mendelsohn, who played Director Orson Krennic, said that there's an "enormously different" version of the story that exists. He explains:

"We did have multiple, multiple ways of going at any given scenario, we had multiple readings of it. So should they ever decide to, there would be a wealth of ways of approaching these different things. And I know from having seen sort of the crucial kind of scenes throughout it, I know there’s vastly different readings of at least four of those scenes."

He was then asked if there was an alternate version of the story that exists because of the differences and his response was:

"Absolutely [there is a different version], with enormous differences within I would’ve said 20 or 30 of the scenes. There really would be. There would be enormously different renderings."

I would really love to see the different scenarios of how this movie could have played out. I hope that they will include all of this alternate footage on the Blu-ray. Hell, would it be cool if they actually recut the different versions of the film using that unused footage!? That would be awesome! I doubt it'll ever happen, though.

Earlier this week it was rumored that Deadpool would make an appearance in director James Mangold's Logan. That was later debunked by the director and by actor Ryan Reynolds.

According to THR's Borys Kit, just because Deadpool isn't appearing in Logan doesn't mean that we won't eventually see them together on film. He recently sent out the following Tweet:

Well, he obviously thinks he knows something! What we know is that Reynolds wants to bring Hugh Jackman's Wolverine into his Deadpool sequel. However, Jackman has made it very clear that he's retiring from Wolverine after Logan. Maybe, just maybe, Jackman is considering some kind of cameo. It would be pretty badass if it happened, but we'll just have to wait and see.

THE GODFATHER Script-to-Screen Video Includes Coppola's Commentary on One of the Film's Most Famous Scenes

Everyone reading this has seen The Godfather (or at least I hope they have), but I've never seen a section of it broken down in quite this way before. Vimeo user Glass Distortion has a really great script to screen analysis video that plays out the scene in which Michael Corleone (Al Pacino) kills Sollozzo and McCluskey in the restaurant, and it not only includes the descriptions from the screenplay, but also some commentary from director Francis Ford Coppola that I'd never heard before. Heck, even if you're a Godfather connoisseur, this is still probably worth watching just to appreciate the staging and the way the tension in this famous sequence plays out.

The Final Trailer for LOGAN Is Being Released to Fans as 1,974 Film Frames

20th Century Fox has just launched a new website for Logan where fans can sign up to get a custom, limited-edition postcard featuring a single frame from the upcoming final trailer for the Logan movie. There are 1,974 film frames in this last trailer, and that's how many will be sent out to fans.

There is a significant meaning behind the 1974 frame count as it refers to the year that Wolverine made his first Marvel Comics appearance in The Incredible Hulk #180 and #181.

They are only giving away 1,974 unique frames, so if you want one, you better sign up for is now! You can do that right here. Once you receive your frame, you're supposed to share it online using #OneLastTime. I already signed up for mine!

This obviously means the final trailer will be released soon, so stay tuned for that! I'm excited to see what it entails! That first trailer was so powerful, and I hope this last trailer will offer fans something even better. Logan hits theaters on March 3, 2017.

HBO Moves Up Release Date of Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds Documentary to Next Week

In light of their untimely deaths, HBO has decided to move up the release date of their documentary on Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds. Deadline reports the documentary will now air January 7th. Bright Lights features the lives of both Fisher and Reynolds and centers on Reynolds' Vegas show and the two living together as performing begins to take its toll on Reynolds.

The film received high acclaim at Cannes prior to the actresses' passing, so at least this will feel more like an homage than a quick "strike while the iron is hot" deal that so many studios seem to jump on when stuff like this happens. Will you be watching the documentary when it airs?

Creator of Atari's E.T. Game Tells the Story of the Worst Video Game Ever

Here's a fun little animated video from Great Big Story, who spoke with Howard Scott Warshaw and asked him to tell the story of how he created E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial for the Atari, which is a game that's been referred to as the worst video game in the history of the medium. That's a bold claim, but if you've played it, you'll know where the griping comes from. XBox produced a documentary about the game, but if you've never seen that, this is a nice primer, and you're getting the info straight from the horse's mouth.

Marvel Uploads Two Full Episodes of ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN to YouTube

In case you don't frequent the animation side of Marvel, I'm here to tell you that the Ultimate Spider-Man series is pretty fantastic! Unfortunately, the series is ending after its fourth season, but that means it'll soon be coming to streaming!

I don't know if any of this has to do with why Marvel uploaded two full episodes of Ultimate Spider-Man and Ultimate Spider-Man vs The Sinister Six on YouTube, but I figured it was a good opportunity to introduce the bulk of you to the series!

Season one of the series is a bit goofy, but they definitely pack it with more than enough action to will make up for the obvious moments you're watching a show geared for children.

By season three you have Spider-Man taking on The Sinister Six and things are a tad darker, but nothing too spooky. It seems like at this point in the series most of the kiddie aside moments are gone, and it's mostly action and story along with some great callbacks to the franchise.

You can catch the final season of the series on Disney XD.

Star Wars and steampunk. I don't know if we'd go as far as to say that they're two great tastes that go great together, but they're definitely two massively popular pieces of pop culture that have transcended their origins and become a way of life for obsessive fans. So in a way, blending them seems only natural.

This video from AWEme (via LaughingSquid) takes you step by step through the process of building an R2-D2 steampunk teapot. If you're still clueless about what this means, you'll understand everything you need to once you realize that one of the listed elements of creating this thing is "old stuff from an electronics junkyard."

HAN SOLO: A SMUGGLER'S TRADE Is a Fun STAR WARS Fan Film Worth Checking Out

While we wait to see how director Phil Lord and Chris Miller's Han Solo standalone film turns out, we have a fun and charming Star Wars fan film that centers on the character for you to watch! It's called "Han Solo: A Smuggler's Trade," and it focuses on one of Han's early adventures as he embarks on an adventure to rescue his friend Chewbacca. It feels like a perfect mix of Star Wars and Indiana Jones.

The Universe's favorite intergalactic smuggler sets out on an epic quest to rescue an old friend. He uses his mechanical skills, cunning wit, and his creative interpretation of the rules to fight, flirt, bribe, and barter his way to victory. But will it be enough? Before there was A New Hope, there was Han Solo -- just an outlaw trying to survive in a galaxy more corrupt than he is... and far less forgiving.

The movie was directed by Keith Allen and stars Jamie Costa as Han Solo, Cory Leeper as Chewbacca, and Doug Jones as Gyorsho.

When you're from a certain area and an actor in a movie tries to adopt your native accent, it's normally pretty easy to tell whether they've gotten it right or very, very wrong. But not many of us are qualified to make the same judgment about accents from different areas of the world. That's where Erik Singer comes in. He's a dialect coach, and in this video for Wired, he breaks down 32 actors' performances and talks about whether they've nailed their accents or what could use a little work. See if your favorite ridiculous accent made the cut here:

Science Vs. Cinema Video Explores How Scientifically Accurate ARRIVAL Is

One of the reasons why I love the sci-fi film Arrival so much is because it told an intellectual sci-fi story involving aliens using an approach that made an attempt to use real science. We all know Hollywood likes to embellish things a bit, especially with sci-fi movies, but according to this new Science Vs. Cinema video, the filmmaking team that created the film actually came very close to real scientific theories and practices.

The science of the Denis Villeneuve-directed film is discussed and evaluated by Mathematica creator Stephen Wolfram, SETI astronomer Seth Shostak, and linguist Jessica Coon. The video is almost 30 minutes long, but it's absolutely fascinating, especially if you're into real science and aliens.

It's been hilarious watching all the videos of people attempting to use their Alexa and failing! My favorite so far is this sweet little boy who wants to hear the Winnie The Pooh song "Tigger Tigger," and Alexa starts reading a porn title! Things get NSFW pretty quickly, but it's only language and it's so funny and innocent I doubt your boss would mind that much. Check it out below.

Also, check out this guy screaming at Alexa because he thinks it's named Trevor...

Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill Reunite on the Set of STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII in This Photo

Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker and Carrie Fisher's General Organa reunite for the first time since Return of the Jedi in this photo from the set of Star Wars: Episode VIII. Both actors are in costume and seem to be enjoying some relaxing downtime on the set.

The photo was shared by co-star Oscar Isaac with the following note:

“She had no patience for pretense or small talk. She saw through things, at a different angle, with the gritty wisdom that comes from the hardest lessons. And, man, did she make me laugh. Will miss you dearly, Carrie.”

Fisher had already finished her work on Episode VIII, and there's no information on how her untimely death will affect the rest of the saga, but at least we will get to see her as Leia one more time.
