I'm a big James Bond fan, and I absolutely loved Skyfall! One of the things I enjoy watching from all of the Bond films is the stylistic opening title sequence. They're fun, classy, and trippy. I liked this title title sequence, and I especially liked Adele's theme song. Daniel Kleinman created the opening sequence for Skyfall, and it's now available online for you to watch whenever you want! Thank you internet! If you haven't watched Skyfall yet, I highly recommend that you do it as soon as you can. It was one of my favorite 007 films! Watch the title sequence, and let us know how you think it ranks among the rest of the Bond movies' opening titles!

Recently we shared a new 60-second clip from Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained, and now we have some sweet wallpapers. The movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Gerald McRaney, Dennis Christopher, Laura Cayouette, M.C. Gainey, Don Johnson, Kerry Washington, Anthony LaPaglia, RZA, Tom Wopat, James Remar, James Russo, Todd Allen, and Jonah Hill.

Synopsis:

Set in the South two years before the Civil War, DJANGO UNCHAINED stars Academy Award®-winner Jamie Foxx as Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Academy Award®-winner Christoph Waltz). Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles -- dead or alive.

Success leads Schultz to free Django, though the two men choose not to go their separate ways. Instead, Schultz seeks out the South's most wanted criminals with Django by his side. Honing vital hunting skills, Django remains focused on one goal: finding and rescuing Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), the wife he lost to the slave trade long ago.

Django and Schultz's search ultimately leads them to Calvin Candie (Academy Award®-nominee Leonardo DiCaprio), the proprietor of "Candyland," an infamous plantation. Exploring the compound under false pretenses, Django and Schultz arouse the suspicion of Stephen (Academy Award®-nominee Samuel L. Jackson), Candie's trusted house slave. Their moves are marked, and a treacherous organization closes in on them. If Django and Schultz are to escape with Broomhilda, they must choose between independence and solidarity, between sacrifice and survival...

3 Actors Who Might Be Harry Osborn in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

Director Marc Webb is prepping for production on The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which is set to start shooting in February 2013. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are set to reprise their roles and getting ready to get back into action. Shailene Woodley will be joining them as Mary Jane Watson, and it sounds like Jamie Foxx will be joining the cast as the villain Electro. There are several other characters to cast for the film, but one of the other main characters they need to fill is Harry Osborn, played by James Franco in the Sam Raimi films.

This is a big role for any actor to land, and THR has some information on the character and who is up for the part. The studio was originally looking for bigger, athletic actors, but they have since changed it up and are now looking for actors that are more "dark and edgy." Hopefully, they won't make the character emo like Raimi tried to do with Peter Parker in Spider-Man 3. It was also revealed that Harry will be a college kid who befriends Parker.

According to insiders, there are three young actors in the running to take on the part: Brady Corbet (Melancholia), Dane DeHaan (Chronicle), and Alden Ehrenreich (Beautiful Creatures). Of course there could be other names thrown into the mix as well. Each has a certain quality to them that I like for the part, but I think DeHaan would be my choice. He's got that look, and it seems like he fits in well with the world that Webb has created, plus I liked him in Chronicle. Who would be your choice to play Harry Osborn?

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to be released on May 2nd, 2014.

Watch the Trailer for THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES

Screen Gems has released the first trailer for the fantasy adventure film The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. The movie is based on the first book of a series written by Cassandra Clare. The movie stars Lily Collins (Mirror, Mirror), Jaime Campbell Bower, Lena Headey, Jared Harris, Kevin Durand, and Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

I'm not really sure what to think of this movie. I'm not completely sold on it. There are aspects of it shown in the trailer that I like, and others that I don't. It kind of sits in that middle ground--the movie could be fun and entertaining, or it could be bad. One thing I know for sure is I wasn't really blown away by anything in the trailer.

Here's the Synopsis:

CLARY FRAY (Lily Collins) is an ordinary Brooklyn teenager until the night she meets the mysteriously tattooed JACE, who turns out to be a half-angel warrior known as a Shadowhunter. When Clary finds out her mother JOCELYN has been abducted, she desperately hopes Jace will be able to help. After a whirling golden portal transports her across time and space in a heartbeat, Clary realizes she too has the powers of the Shadowhunters. But can she harness them in time to save her mother?

Clary, Jace and their fellow Shadowhunters endure one breathtaking battle after another against vampire, warlocks and demons—only to discover Jocelyn hid a terrible secret from the fiercest warrior of all: VALENTINE. Cast out from the world of Shadowhunters, Valentine abducted Jocelyn believing she had a powerful tool known as the Mortal Cup. Using her newfound gifts, Clary finds the Cup, only to be brutally betrayed and forced to relinquish it.

Still reeling from this setback and racing to save Jocelyn before it’s too late, Clary finds herself caught in a battle between forces she barely understands. Based on the best-selling series by Cassandra Clare, MORTAL INSTRUMENTS is a magnificent urban fantasy rich in detail and suspense, about a girl’s journey to the darkest corners of the underworld to save those she loves.

The movie will be released on August 23rd, 2013. Now watch the trailer.

A crazy red-band trailer has been released for The ABCs of Death, showing what kind of terrifying madness awaits those that are going to see the epic anthology horror movie. I think you have to be a hardcore horror fan to appreciate the insanity that this movie has to offer. Seriously, it looks pretty horrific. This short red-band trailer is NSFW, as it contains lot of blood, carnage, and boobs.

Twenty-six directors. Twenty-six ways to die. The ABC's of Death is perhaps the most ambitious anthology film ever conceived with productions spanning fifteen countries and featuring segments directed by over two dozen of the world's leading talents in contemporary genre film. Inspired by children’s educational books, the motion picture is comprised of twenty-six individual chapters, each helmed by a different director assigned a letter of the alphabet. The directors were then given free reign in choosing a word to create a story involving death.

The film's directors include Banjong Pisanthanakun, Angela Bettis, Adrian Garcia Bogliano, Jason Eisener, Ernesto Diaz Espinoza, Bruno Forzani and Héléne Cattet, Gadi Harel, Thomas Malling, Yoshihiro Nishimura, Simon Rumley, Tak Sakaguchi, Yuji Shimomura, Marcel Sarmiento, Srdjan Spasojevic, Timo Tjahjanto, Andrew Traucki, Nacho Vigalando, Jake West, Ti West, Ben Wheatley and Adam Wingard.

I love horror movies, so you can count me in! The ABCs of Death will be available on demand January 31th, 2013 and will get a theatrical release on March 8th.

Sam Raimi Set to Produce Big Screen Adaptation of ANGELFALL

Sam Raimi has acquired the right to the fantasy novel series Angelfall. The series was self-published by Susan Ee until Amazon came along to publish it. It sounds like an awesome story that will make for a great movie. It centers on warrior angels and one in particular that teams up with a girl who's on a journey to rescue her little sister from an angel stronghold.

Here's the official description of the book:

Six weeks after angels of the apocalypse descend to demolish the modern world, street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night. When warrior angels fly away with a helpless little girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back… even if that means making a deal with an enemy angel Raffe, a warrior who has been left bleeding and wingless. Having only each other to rely on for survival, the two journey towards the angel's stronghold where she must risk everything to rescue her sister and he must decide whether to put himself at the mercy of his enemies for the chance to be made whole again.

You can count me in! That sounds awesome! Raimi will produce the film alongside Rob Tapert, Good Universe, Joe Drake, and Nathan Kahane. Raimi had this to say in a statement,

Susan is a brilliant writer. She has created a fantastic world with instantly engaging and real characters. I immediately connected with the material and knew that she had conceived the perfect combination for a great fantasy film.

Angelfall became an instant success across a broad demographic of readers resonating with the ravenous young adult crowd as well as adults. The book ranked #1 on Amazon’s Most Wished For Teen Book list and #1 best seller in Sci-fi & Fantasy. Ee is a lawyer turned writer, and Angelfall is her debut novel. The second book in the series will release in fall 2013.

I haven't read the book yet, but I think I have to now.

The Types of People You See at Gaming’s Midnight Releases

As more and more of these blockbuster games come out, we all set out to experience that midnight release event sooner or later. This week, Call of Duty: Black Ops II was released and gamers across the country lined up at their local game stores to be the first of their friends to get hands on the game.

But have you ever entered a line for a midnight release, and then just scanned the crowd? You’d be surprised at the various types of people there. Dorkly has created a very funny comic that illustrates pretty much every type of individual you will encounter at these events. I have to say, it’s pretty damn spot on.

Disney Wants to Release 2 to 3 STAR WARS Films PER YEAR!

Disney is going to re-launch Lucasfilms Star Wars franchise in 2015 with Star Wars: Episode VII. When this awesomeness was first announced, they said that we would be getting one new Star Wars film every two years. It looks like we're going to get a hell of a lot more Star Wars than that though!

Fanboys and fangirls are going to be in Star Wars bliss. In a recent interview with EW, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy revealed that the studio wants to pump out "two or three films a year"! How insanely cool is that! It's crazy to think that there will be a point that every year we will get a new star wars movie!

It makes sense. Hell, Marvel pumps out two to three Marvel movies a year. This would go along with Lucasfilms' rumored plan to build an Marvel style movie universe for Star Wars that will include offshoot movies focusing on individual characters!

I'm extremely excited about this, how can I not be!? I was hoping that something like this would happen! I couldn't help but think though... "what if people get burnt out on Star Wars movies?" Then I thought, "Are you kidding!? If you're a Star Wars fan you'll never get burnt out!" Think about it, we fans continue to spend money on seeing the same Star Wars movies over and over again everytime they are re-released in theaters and various forms of home entertainment. Of course we're going to happily jump at the new stuff! Then there's the Marvel comparison... the movies just get better and better, and I can't wait for more Marvel movies! The Star Wars universe is just as big and even more exciting to me! So yeah, if Disney brings us three Star Wars movies a year, I will excitedly show up for every one!

Bring it on Disney/Lucasfilm! As a huge Star Wars fan this is exactly what I want!

You can read Kennedy's full interview in the next issue of EW, which focuses on the future of Star Wars.

Bryan Singer's X-MEN Sequel Will Not Include Leather Suits

As much as I enjoyed Byran Singer's X-Men films, I never really cared for the leather X-Men suits that he used. The director is re-teaming with his costume designer from his first movies, Louise Mingenbach, for X-Men: Days of Future Past, but thankfully we won't be seeing those leather suits in it. Singer tweeted the following...

I appreciate that. It will be cool to see what the new suits do end up looking like. I loved the designs from X-Men: First Class, so hopefully they end up being some kind of cool updated version of those. Brightly colored spandex anyone?

Freddie Wong and his Rocket Jump team have created yet another entertaining action-packed short film called Far Cry Vacation. It was made in conjuction with the video game Far Cry 3. I love watching Wong's stuff, you can tell these guys just have an extremely fun time making these short films.

Sometimes, a little R&R can get a little boring.

Enjoy the show!

Aaron Sorkin's Steve Jobs Movie Only Has Three 30 Minute Scenes

$

The Social Network screenwriter Aaron Sorkin is in the process of writing a Steve Jobs biopic for Sony Pictures. This is the good Steve Jobs movie that we're waiting for, not the one starring Ashton Kutcher.

It seems Sorkin has come up with a very interesting and different way to tackle the story. According to The Daily Beast, Sorkin says his upcoming biopic will consist entirely of three half-hour scenes. Each scene takes place in real-time, and they will depict the events back-stage leading up to a major product launch during Jobs' life. The product launches that the film will feature include the original Mac, NeXT, and iPod, which are all perfect centerpieces.

I'm intrigued by this storytelling format, and it's something that I can definitely see Sorkin doing. It seems similar to the format of his great HBO series Newsroom. Sorkin hopes to end the movie with the text of the ‘here’s to the crazy ones‘ ad.

Sorkin went on to talk about meeting with people who were around Jobs in life such as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak saying, "These people…revere him despite of the fact that he made all of them cry at one point. But he made all of them better.” He went on to admit that Jobs wasn't perfect, and that there's “no point in writing about someone unless they’re flawed. He then compared Jobs to The Beatles saying, "It’s a little like writing about the Beatles. There are so many people out there that know so much about him and that revere him. I just saw a minefield of disappointment."

I love Sorkin's work, and I'm looking forward to seeing his vision for Jobs realized on the big screen. I'm sure it's going to be as good as we all hope it will be. What do you think of his three-scene story format?

You can watch Sorkin talk about Steve Jobs in the video below:

BLACK OPS II – THOR Easter Egg Hidden Within the Game – Wait, What?!

$

If you’re like me, then you have been playing Treyarch’s latest game, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, nonstop since it was released this past Tuesday. So far, I have to say that the game is much better than I ever thought it would be. But like with all COD games, you have to give it a full month or so to see if you really like it that much.

But here’s something that you may not have known about the game, there’s a Thor Easter Egg hidden within the game. Yea, totally odd right? What connection would Thor possibly have to the Call of Duty universe? I guess we can’t expect too much. I mean, there are zombies in the game after all.

Want to know where it’s located? Well then, this is what you need to do:

  • Start the Celerium Mission
  • Complete the mission up until the point where you fly in using the special suits
  • Once you have actually flown in, landed and defeated all the enemies, walk to the cliff and drop down to a lower area
  • You will see a very dark cave nearby where you can walk in
  • There you go, Thor’s Mjolnir Hammer and all its awesomeness is in front of you!

Ok let’s all speculate, how would Thor fit into the Call of Duty universe?

Guillermo del Toro Says SLAUGHTERHOUSE-FIVE Is Not Dead!

$

0

It's been a long time since we've had an update on Guillermo del Toro's adaptation of the book Slaughterhouse-Five. I didn't think it would ever happen, but never say never! There's a chance that it might! The book is set in World War II and and centers on time jumping and an alien abduction. In a recent interview with The Hunffington Post the director revealed that Charlie Kaufman (Being John Malcovich, Adaptation, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind) was working on developing it with him initially.

I will tell you, my idea was to get Charlie Kaufman to write it. And I spoke to Charlie Kaufman about it and we came up with an idea on how to approach it, which I thought was very, very interesting. But, it was right at the time I went and started "Pacific Rim." So the studio, they didn't want to invest in that project if it was not going to be my next movie. So, you know, it gradually cooled a little bit. But the exact take I proposed to Charlie Kaufman is the exact take I would do with the material.

It would have been so cool to see this team up for this movie. Slaughterhouse-Five wouldn't be an easy book to adapt, because it's kind of all over the place, but Del Toro gives a little insight on how he would do it saying,

How can I put it? The first "Slaughterhouse-Five" movie that was done was a really good movie, but it's about flashbacks and flash-forwards. And what is gorgeous about the book is that he becomes detached from time.

The Tralfamadorians say, "Like we can see a mountain range. We can see the alive, we can see the dead, we can see ourselves at age five and we can see ourselves ancient. It makes no difference." It makes no difference. And that was the idea that we were talking about. We were talking about how it was going to be very experimental. But, you know, if I had the money to pay for any of these movies, I would do it. I would do it in a second.

Now that I think about it, it sounds like something Terrence Malick would like to do! The director was then asked if the project is dead, and to that he replied...

No, no, no. It may still happen. But, I don't control the material. Let me put it this way: when I control the material, I never give up on a movie. I mean, "The Count of Monte Cristo" was 15 years. "Devil's Backbone" took me a decade or more. But, if I don't control the material, I have no say. It's a property of Universal.

Well let's hope Universal gets their shit together and moves this film into production! I'd love to see Del Toro and Kaufman's vision of it brought to the big screen. I have no doubt they would turn this story into an incredible movie.

Here's the plot summary for the book:

Slaughterhouse Five follows the story of Billy Pilgrim, optometrist and time traveler. The novel jumps through time with Billy as he lives the events of his life over and over again. In this dynamic framework, the reader sees the terrors of war, the quiet desperation of suburban life and the breakdown of the psyche through Billy's time jumping eyes. Just before he is captured as a prisoner of war, Billy experiences his first time jump. Here he sees his whole life, past, present and future, unfold. After the war, Billy returns from Europe to resume his civilian life, but does not cease moving randomly through time, witnessing his birth, his death and events in between. He is eventually abducted by aliens who experience time in much the same way as Billy except that they prefer to look only at life's more pleasant moments. Despite his family's objections, Billy tells the world of his time traveling and of his abduction, highlighting the story with a detailed account of his death.

Here's a character breakdown:

Billy Pilgrim: the protagonist of the novel, Billy Pilgrim is a WWII veteran who becomes a prisoner of war at the time of the fire bombing of Dresden. The reader also sees Billy as an optometrist and a family man who has become "unstuck in time". This phenomenon causes him to travel back and forth in time experiencing and re-experiencing the events of his life.

Roland Weary: a fellow prisoner of war who incorrectly imagines himself as a glorious hero and who blames his death on Billy.

Paul Lazarro: also a prisoner of war and friend to Roland Weary. Lazzaro makes it his mission to see Weary avenged by killing Billy Pilgrim.

Narrator: the author himself plays a small role in the novel interjecting facts about the war and his own experiences in it. The narrator's role serves to frame the events of Billy Pilgrim's life, giving the novel a cohesive thread.

Tralfamadorians: the aliens who abduct Billy Pilgrim as a specimen for their zoo. The Trafalmadorians perceive life and time in four dimensions and so understand Billy's tendencies to jump from time period to time period.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY Renewed for Third Season!

For those of you who are fans of the twisted FX series American Horror Story, you will be happy to hear that it's getting a third season with 13 episodes. It was also revealed that many of the actors will return for season 3, including Jessica Lang!

I've been loving this second Asylum season, and I think it's even better than the first. It's just so awesomely insane! Did you see last night's episode!? Holy crap it was good! I honestly had no idea that was coming. I won't saying anything else, but you need to watch it if you haven't already. I'm excited to see how this season ends.

Production on season 3 will start next summer and premiere in the fall of 2013, most likely in October. FX and American Horror Story creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk haven't revealed details about the third chapter of the TV horror anthology, but I already can't wait to see what we have coming to us!

They've made it clear that each season is going to be different from the last, so I don't expect to see the Asylum setting in season 3.

Scott Derrickson To Direct DEUS EX: HUMAN REVOLUTION Movie

Sinister director Scott Derrickson has been hired by CBS Films to direct the big screen adaptation of the Square Enix video game Deus Ex: Human Revolution. He will also co-write the script with C. Robert Cargill

I know of the game; it looks really cool, but I haven't played it. The story is set in the near future, when dramatic advances in human augmentation have triggered a technological renaissance. The protagonist, an ex-SWAT security specialist named Adam Jensen, must embrace mechanical augments in order to unravel a global conspiracy.

I loved Derrickson's Sinister, and he also directed The Exorcism of Emily Rose and The Day the Earth Stood Still. I think he'll do a solid job bringing Deus Ex: Human Revolution to the big screen. Here's what he had to say in a statement,

Deus Ex is a phenomenal cyberpunk game with soul and intelligence. By combining amazing action and tension with big, philosophical ideas, Deus Ex is smart, ballsy, and will make one hell of a movie. Cargill and I can’t wait to bring it to the big screen.

This is the third big video game adaptation that's been announced recently, along with Michael Fassbender's Assassin’s Creed, and Tom Hardy's Splinter Cell. Now let's get Halo and Bioshock back into development!

It will be fun to watch this movie come together. It will be interesting to see who ends up being cast in the lead role.
