T2: TRAINSPOTTING Featurettes Focus on Spud and Renton and Where They Are in Life

When T2 Trainspotting begins, it's been 20 years since Renton (Ewan McGregor) has been home. As you might expect, it's a big shock for Spud (Ewen Bremner) when he returns. We have a couple new featurettes for the film that focus on Spud and Renton and where they are in their lives when the film picks up. Renton is clean of heroin, but Spud is still struggling with it. Renton tries to help him get clean and find purpose. Bremner and McGregor talk about their characters in the videos below and fill us in on how they've been imagined for the film.

First there was an opportunity……then there was a betrayal.
Twenty years have gone by.
Much has changed but just as much remains the same.
Mark Renton (Ewan McGregor) returns to the only place he can ever call home.
They are waiting for him: Spud (Ewen Bremner), Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller), and Begbie (Robert Carlyle).
Other old friends are waiting too: sorrow, loss, joy, vengeance, hatred, friendship, love, longing, fear, regret, diamorphine, self-destruction and mortal danger, they are all lined up to welcome him, ready to join the dance.

T2 Trainspotting opens January 27, 2017 in the U.K. and Ireland and March 3rd, 2017 in the U.S.

One of my favorite movies to watch with my family during the holiday season is director Frank Capra's It's a Wonderful Life. It's such a great film that never fails to bring a tear to my eye.

Artist Barret Chapman pays tribute to this wonderful Christmas film with a piece of poster art he created for the Hero Complex Gallery. It's called "I'll Give You The Moon, Mary," and it focuses on the charming moment in the story when George Bailey (Jimmy Stewart) tells Mary (Donna Reed) that he’ll lasso the moon to pull it down for her if that’s what she wants.

If you want to order yourself a poster to add to your annual Christmas decorations, click here.

I've got an amusingly ridiculous Christmas short film for you to watch today called "Star Wars: The Santa Menace," and in it, we get to watch Santa and Jesus have a lightsaber battle over who should control Christmas. The short comes from The Dangerous Brew, and they offer this brief plot summary:

Jedi Jesus must defeat the ultimate Sith, Santa Claus, in order to end the war on Christmas, once and for all.

I hope you're all having a great holiday season!

The World Needs More DIE HARD Christmas Ornaments

One creative Redditor decided their Christmas was not complete until they had an ornament for their favorite Christmas movie, Die Hard. Seeing as the market doesn't have much in the way of merchandise for the film this time of season, StuFx took it into their own hands to make an ornament that shows John McClane making his way through an air vent!

I'm super jealous and want this on my Christmas tree next year! Anyone else have homemade Christmas ornaments they'd like to share?

The world of Pandora from Avatar is coming to life at Disney World Resort's Animal Kingdom. As someone who is slightly critical of the overblown licensing and constant promotion of the franchise that is still delaying and working on its second film, even I can't be cynical about this! What little completed work you see of Pandora in this video will amaze you, I can promise that! Take a look at what's been built so far below.

First Look at Jamie Foxx and Ansel Elgort in Edgar Wright’s BABY DRIVER

Edgar Wright has given us our first look at his new film Baby Driver in two photos that he shared with EW. I’ve really been looking forward to this movie because I’m a huge fan of Wright’s work.

In the film, Elgort plays a getaway driver who wants to leave his life of crime behind after falling for a girl who is being played by Lily James. What makes the character so interesting is the fact that he suffers from tinnitus and the “movie’s action is choreographed to the music he plays to drown out the ringing in his ears.” Wright says that he listens to a wide range of diverse music during these chase sequences, but didn’t reveal what any of the music was. However, he did say:

“I always wanted to do an action movie that was powered by music. It’s something that’s very much a part of my previous films and I thought of this idea of how to take that a stage further by having a character who listens to music the entire time. So, you have this young getaway driver who has to soundtrack his entire existence, particularly the bank robberies and fast getaways that come afterwards.”

This film sounds like it’s going to be a blast, especially with Wright at the helm. The guy has never ever made a dull movie, but he described this one as an action crime thriller:

“It’s funny in places but it’s not a comedy. It gets genuinely tense and threatening. That was actually a fun thing for me — to do dramatic or thriller scenes which just up the ante.”

The film also stars Jon Bernthal, Eiza González, Jon Hamm, Jamie Foxx, and Kevin Spacey as the crime boss. The director went on to talk about working with Spacey:

“He’s amazing. I had a slight out of body experience, the first day on set with [him]. His first scene was a big monologue scene, and he started doing it, and even though we’d done a table read and we’d rehearsed it, when we were doing a take, I was just completely lost in the moment of him talking. Then I thought, Oh, yeah, I wrote this! [Laughs] I was briefly hypnotized by Spacey — and him spitting out my words was an absolute joy.”

Baby Driver hits theaters on August 11th, 2017.

This Short Film Pitches an Awesome POKEMON GO Style GHOSTBUSTERS Game Idea!

A Pokemon Go-style Ghostbusters game!? I’d play the hell out of that! Here’s a fun short film that pitches the great idea of a game where you are a Ghostbuster going around catching ghosts on your phone. The short is only meant to be a parody, but it’s a great idea that actually has potential. There are a few things that would need to be figured out to make it a bit more interesting than just catching ghosts. I guess the ghosts could be leveled up and battle each other like in Pokemon Go. The initial concept is pretty fantastic, though. The video comes to us from Kaipotainment.

If there's something strange in your neighborhood... Don't call the Ghostbusters, you are the Ghostbuster.

Batman and Superman Will Argue Over Leadership in JUSTICE LEAGUE

Even though Batman and Superman were fighting alongside each other at the end of Batman v Superman because both of their mothers are named Martha, it sounds like they're still going to have a few kinks in their relationship in Zack Snyder's Justice League

Superman will obviously come back from the dead, and when he does there's going to be an argument over who will lead the newly formed Justice League team. In an interview with Total Film, Henry Cavill says,

"There's pretty much an argument between him and Batman as to who is the leader."

Last time these two guys had an argument they tried to kill each other. I doubt that will happen again in Justice League.

Personally, I always thought that Batman is a better leader. He has years of experience leading with his background running a company. Just because Superman returns from the dead, has super strength, and can fly doesn't mean he qualifies for leadership. Bruce Wayne is a proven true leader. In the end, though, I'm sure that they will lead the team together with their unique strengths.

Which of the two heroes do you think makes a better leader?

Justice League opens in theaters on Nov. 17, 2017.

It’s been awhile since we’ve posted any fan-made stuff for Stranger Things, so here’s a beautiful rendition of some of the musical score as a cello medley. It was performed by Nicholas Yee, Kyle Dixon, and Michael Stein.

Stranger Things was an instant classic that became a pop culture phenomenon. Luckily the story will continue with a second season, and I can’t wait to see how that plays out.

RICK AND MORTY Have a Breakdown in Rough Look at Season 3

It looks like Rick and Morty will be facing some hard questions in season three! A recent Twitch cast with the writing team from the show featured a voice storyboard where both Rick and Morty break down after an especially tiresome situation, and it's about as hilarious as you would expect! While the end of the clip hints that the two might walk away from the random life-threatening adventures for good...I doubt that will be the case.

Check out the clip below and be ready for season 3 of Rick and Morty in 2017.

See How Quickly SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE Breaks Down a Set Between Sketches

There was a period between when Will Ferrell left and about 2012 or 2013 when I stopped watching Saturday Night Live, but I've gotten back into it in a big way over the past few years. The episodes are hit or miss — spoiler alert: they've always been that way — but I enjoy watching this cast work (Kate McKinnon is the best), and I'm fascinated by the history of the show. It's been around for more than forty years, and it almost always feels as if it's on the edge of chaos at any given second. But that energy is part of what makes it so good, and NBC has released a fun little behind the scenes video that gives us a quick look at just how fast the crew has to break down a set between the opening sketch and the monologue.

This was taken during the episode Casey Affleck hosted a few days ago. As I watched it live, I was wondering what that crew member was doing in the audience's bottom left corner of the stage, and though this video shows him working on something, I still couldn't figure out exactly what he was doing. I love the director's voice though: "Just get out of there." Behold:

Teaser Trailer for DOCTOR WHO Series 10 Showcases Goofy New Companion

Bill (Pearl Mackie) is goofy, loud, over the top...and more importantly, the completely opposite personality that may be just what The Doctor needs. It's no secret Doctor Who has been in a slump ever since the departure of Matt Smith, but very few are putting the blame squarely on the shoulders of current doctor Peter Capaldi. After watching this new trailer and seeing brief glimpses of the two interacting, I think they can bring the magic back.

Let's be honest, Jenna Coleman and Capaldi are both great actors...but there was just zero chemistry between the two. Perhaps now with a fresh companion and a new showrunner on the horizon, things will be different!

Just from the short teaser, I'm already getting strong "Donna Noble" vibes from Bill and I think that might be a perfect match to the grumpy stoic Doctor that Capaldi has embodied. This allows Capaldi to stay in his element where he thrives in the drama and smark, and leave the cornball antics to his new companion.

I have high hopes this matchup works out! Let's keep our fingers crossed as series 10 debuts in 2017.

Disney Releases Extended TV Spot for BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

"Think of the one thing you’ve ever wanted and find it in your mind’s eye.”

Disney invites you to be their guest in a new extended TV spot for their live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. The movie looks great, but we still haven't heard any of the actors singing the classic songs from the film. I'm really curious to see if the actors are actually going to be able to pull off the music. I hope so! It just concerns me a little that Disney hasn't shown any of those musical numbers off yet in a trailer. Maybe they're holding onto it for the next main trailer they plan on releasing.

Beauty and the Beast is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within. The film stars: Emma Watson as Belle; Dan Stevens as the Beast; Luke Evans as Gaston, the handsome, but shallow villager who woos Belle; Oscar® winner Kevin Kline as Maurice, Belle’s eccentric, but lovable father; Josh Gad as Lefou, Gaston’s long-suffering aide-de-camp; Golden Globe® nominee Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, the candelabra; Oscar nominee Stanley Tucci as Maestro Cadenza, the harpsichord; Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, the feather duster; six-time Tony Award® winner Audra McDonald as Madame Garderobe, the wardrobe; Oscar nominee Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, the mantel clock; and two-time Academy Award® winner Emma Thompson as the teapot, Mrs. Potts.

Beauty and the Beast will be released in theaters on March 17, 2017.

This year marks the fifteenth anniversary of one of my favorite movies, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. It was the first time we saw the terrifying Eye of Sauron in live-action (well, a CG creation in a live-action film), and now you can celebrate not only that 15 year anniversary, but also bask in a lazy post-Christmas haze by eating leftovers and queuing up this five-hour Yule Log video in which Sauron's eye stares directly into your soul.

Carrie Fisher Is in Stable Condition Following Her Heart Attack Last Week

As you all know, on Friday Carrie Fisher suffered a major heart attack on an airplane that left her in critical condition. I'm happy to report that she has pulled through and is currently in stable condition. The news of her recovery comes from her mother Debbie Reynolds on her Facebook page in which she says:

"My daughter, Carrie Fisher, is in stable condition. If there is any change, the family will share the information at that time. To all her friends and fans, I thank you all for your prayers and good wishes."

It's so good to hear that she is doing well after the frightening ordeal of being in full cardiac arrest. Fisher reportedly stopped breathing for several minutes. She was rushed into intensive care at the hospital where she was put on assisted breathing.

I'm happy to hear that she is doing better, and I hope that she has a full and speedy recovery. Our thoughts are with her and her family as they are going through all this scary time in their lives.
