The Evolution of Batgirl from 1956 to 2016 Featured in Infographic

Batgirl has a long, interesting history and has evolved a lot over the years. We've got a great infographic for you to check out today. It comes to us from Fun.com and it shows all the versions of the character we've seen since she was first introduced into the DC Comics universe in 1956. It also offers up information of each of the versions that she's gone through.

There have been several versions of Batgirl over the years, but the most the definitive one has been Barbara Gordon, who made her DC Comics debut on November 29, 1966 in Batman #359. While it’s been 50 years since Gordon’s debut as Batgirl, there was another Bat-girl (Betty Kane) who debuted 5 years earlier in Batman #159. Betty Kane is the niece of Kathy Kane, the original Batwoman who, coincidentally, debuted 60 years ago in 1956.
As we celebrate the 50, 55, and 60-year anniversaries of the Bat-women, we’ve put together this infographic featuring Barbara Gordon and all her different appearances over the years, from her comic debut to her TV and film roles to her current run in the DC Superhero Girls web series and various other comics. We’ve also included her run as Oracle, which originated from her controversial role in Alan Moore’s The Killing Joke. Eventually, she returned to the superhero role as part of DC's reboot in 2011. Check out Barbara Gordon and other versions of Batgirl in our infographic below!

Hasbro has revealed one hell of a great looking action figure of The Vulture from Marvel's Spider-Man: Homecoming. This is the first 6-inch figure revealed in a Spider-Man: Homecoming line that they plan on releasing.

Hasbro definitely went all out creating this thing because the detail is impressive. You've got all the flight gear and the wings. The wings alone come with 12 points of articulation.

After seeing this figure, I can't wait to see the other action figures they plan on releasing! This looks like it's going to be a must-own collection for fans!

If you're a fan of the classic BBC sci-fi/fantasy series Doctor Who, I've got an awesome action figure set for you to check out. It features all 13 of the Doctors, and it looks like the quality is pretty solid, and they all come with their Sonic Screwdriver. I love that the figures are packaged in a TARDIS-themed box.

This Doctor Who 13 Doctors Figure Set is massive. It comes in a tall box that looks like the TARDIS. Inside the window box contains a 5 1/2" scale figure of each of the 12 Doctors, plus the War Doctor. And on the inside of the TARDIS door flaps is a shot of each Doctor in his respective costume and an explanation of why that one was selected. Each who had a Sonic Screwdriver comes with that, too. These are individually numbered (part of a limited edition of 3000). They were originally an SDCC exclusive, but we got our hands on some for you!

The set is a Comic-Con exclusive and costs $149.99, and if you want one, head on over to Think Geek and order it! It seems like it would make a great Christmas gift for someone you know who's a fan of the series.

I've got a funny video here for you to watch that reimagines the classic educational computer game as an R-rated game. It shows us what it would have really been like to really live in the frontier in that situation. There's lots of blood, drunkenness, and just plain amusing and twisted weirdness. This definitely would have made the game a lot more interesting for kids!

I've got a great movie supercut here for you to watch today that explores director Martin Scorsese's overhead shots, which creator Jorge Luengo Ruiz called "God's Point of View." It's one of many signature shots that Scorsese uses, and I didn't really realize how much he used it until I watched this video. I should warn you, the video is NSFW as it contains some nude shots.

From CORALINE to KUBO: A Magical Laika Experience Is Returning to Universal Studios

Here's a cool bit of news for movie lovers who are going to be in Southern California later this month or early next month. I received a press release from Focus Features explaining that From Coraline to Kubo: A Magical Laika Experience will be returning to Universal Studios Hollywood from December 21, 2016 until January 15, 2017.

Joey and I had the chance to visit the exhibit — which features awesome props, figures, costumes, and more from each of Laika Studios' stop-motion animated movies — when it was first on display a few months ago, and it was super cool. I wrote a big post about it that has a ton of photos and a video tour hosted by Joey himself, so please check that out if you haven't yet, but trust me — if you're anywhere near the area, you'll want to see these items in person for yourselves instead of just looking at them on a screen. Admission is free with the price of a ticket into the theme park, and the exhibit can be found in the park's Globe Theater. Let us know if you get a chance to check it out!

Upgrade Your Ninja Warrior Wardrobe With This Badass Ninjacket Sportswear!

The team behind the samurai armor hoodie, Tokyo Otaku Mode, that we shared with you earlier this year has an incredibly cool new outfit for you. It's ninja warrior inspired sportswear that they call Ninjacket, and I think you're gonna love it. As you can see they were inspired by the traditional ninja warrior outfits that we're all familiar with.

They are currently raising funds for the production of the jacket and pants on indiegogo, and it comes with the following description. It also comes with a fun parkour video showing us what the outfit looks like in ninja action.

Ninja have been a part of Japan’s history since ancient times when they served those in power including daimyos and feudal lords as secret intelligence forces. It goes without saying that ninja are a part of Japan’s history, but they are also an inseparable aspect of Japan’s culture.
To create a jacket that can make anyone become a ninja, it seemed necessary to incorporate a hood that entirely hides the face and black material to conceal one in the shadows since they are both essential for espionage, and it’s these two elements we will craft into a superbly stylish jacket for this project.
The NINJACKET was created using a lightweight jersey material for ease of movement, resulting in modern wear designed after the stealthy outfits of quick, agile ninja that can be worn daily, even during sports. It was also created with consideration paid to it being Insulated and soft to the touch.

For all the little details on Ninjacket, click here.

Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for The Fate of the Furious, which is the eighth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise. The movie looks just as insane and awesome as you'd expect it to be. It's amazing to me that the franchise has come this far, especially after a time when it didn't seem like it was going anywhere! Now the brand is bigger and better than it's ever been, and this next chapter is going to be another wild and crazy action-packed ride! Hell, at the end of the trailer the team is being chased down in their cars by a freakin' submarine!

Now that Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon and Brian and Mia have retired from the game—and the rest of the crew has been exonerated—the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. But when a mysterious woman (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron) seduces Dom into the world of crime he can’t seem to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never before.

From the shores of Cuba and the streets of New York City to the icy plains off the arctic Barents Sea, our elite force will crisscross the globe to stop an anarchist from unleashing chaos on the world’s stage…and to bring home the man who made them a family.

Vin Diesel is joined by a returning all-star cast that includes Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Elsa Pataky, and Kurt Russell. In addition to Theron, the series brings in newcomers Scott Eastwood and Helen Mirren.

The film is directed by F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton) and is set to be released on April 14th, 2017.

Tom Holland Secretly Enrolled in a New York High School for SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Research

Tom Holland recently did a live Q&A on the official Spider-Man Facebook page to answer some questions from the fans and revealed a few interesting things. One of the more interesting things he talked about was how he prepared for the role by secretly enrolling in a New York City high school!

The young actor had never been to an American high school so he wanted to get a little taste of what it was like before he played a kid who attended one. It was definitely an interesting experience for him, and during his time there he actually told one of the kids that he was Spider-Man. Of course, the kid didn't believe him. Here's his story:

“The coolest thing I think I did for the movie was I was enrolled in a high school in New York, in the Bronx, as a secret. No one knew who I was or what I was doing. I had a fake name and a fake accent. I went to school for three days. It was really fun. It was really interesting because New York high schools are so different to schools that I went to in London. Where I went to a school where you have to wear a suit and tie and it’s all boys, and for me it was the first time that I was in a classroom with girls. It was a really strange experience, it was really fun.
“I told one person. I told one kid at the school. I was like ‘Hey man, listen, I’m actually Spider-Man.’ He did not believe me… At the time I hadn’t made the movie, so I didn’t have any pictures to show him to prove that I was Spider-Man…. No one believed me. Which is actually a good thing, because it makes me think that if Peter Parker went up in his school and was like ‘I’m Spider-Man,’ everyone would be like ‘Nah dude, no you’re not.'”

That sounds like it must've been a strange and surreal experience, but at least he had some fun with it! It sounds to me like he may have done this on his own without any assistance from Marvel. Judging from what we saw in the trailer, that little secret research trip paid off for him.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is being directed by Jon Watts and it;s set to be released on July 7th, 2017.

THE KARATE KID Gets a Hilarious SNL Parody with John Cena Beating the Crap Out of Daniel

In one of the greatest sketches that I've seen from Saturday Night Live in a very long time, John Cena stars in a hilarious parody sketch of the classic '80s film The Karate Kid. They recreate the final fight in the movie, but this time Johnny Lawrence kicks the ever living crap out of Daniel Larusso! Then at the point where Daniel tries to do the legendary Crane Kick, Johnny punches him so hard Daniel goes flying out of his karate pants! It's glorious! They obviously couldn't use any of the movie names in the skit, but we all know who everyone is playing. If you didn't watch SNL this weekend, you've gotta check this out!

Tim Miller Reveals That He Had the Same Vision for DEADPOOL 2 as Ryan Reynolds, So What Happened?

$

When Tim Miller left Deadpool 2 there were reports that the reason was because he and Ryan Reynolds didn’t have the same vision. There were rumors that he wanted to make a big film with a bigger budget with more bells and whistles. There were also said to be disputes over the actor who would play Cable. It was said that Miller wanted Kyle Chandler but no one else did.

According to Miller, all of that is wrong. There is no truth to it at all. In fact, it seems like his vision was in line with everyone else's vision. Miller recently gave his first interview since he left the project to CG Garage, and he opened up about everything:

“I haven’t talked since Deadpool 2, I stepped off the movie. I just want to say one thing to our geek audience out there, because it’s important to me what the geeks and nerds of the world think, because they are my brothers and sisters.
“I didn’t want to make some stylized movie that was three times the budget, and if you read the internet - and who cares, really - but for those of you who do, I wanted to make the same kind of movie that we made before, because I think that’s the right kind of movie to make for the character. So, don’t believe what you read on the Internet.”

As you can see, that’s exactly what Reynolds and his writers wanted for the sequel. He went on to talk about the casting of Cable:

“Kyle Chandler was not going to be Cable. All these things that you read kinda kills me, even when people go, ‘The movie was really hard to make.’ The movie was a joy to make. I think you see it on screen, we all had such a good time. We had a few arguments in post, but nothing more than usual. The crew was so great, everybody was going to come back, and we were going to have such a good time. The idea that it was a difficult movie, it wasn’t—it was a joy, and it was the best experience of my life.”

So what is it that actually drove Miller off the film!? If everything was in line and everyone was on the same page about the approach of the film, where did it all go wrong? Obviously, something happened behind the scenes that no one is talking about, but at least we know that it’s not because of the difference of vision for the character. Whatever did happen, Miller isn’t holding any grudges:

“I wish them nothing but good — I hope it’s great. I hope it’s a great movie. Because I love the character and I think it’s great, and I love all the actors and I want to see them successful again. I haven’t met David [Leitch], but he’s a great guy from everything I’ve heard. I want nothing but the best for the character. And for Fox, too. They deserve to make more money. They need to make more money [laughs]. They were great. They were terrific.”

I know that the fans are hoping for the same thing. It sucks that things didn’t work out with Miller for the sequel, but I have confidence that John Wick director David Leitch will give us something amazing.

“What’s the worst thing you can do to your very best friends?”

The BBC has released a new trailer for Sherlock season four, giving us our first real look at what’s in store of Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Watson (Martin Freeman) in this next chapter of the story, and as you’ll see, they find themselves in a very intense situation with a new villain named Culverton Smith (Toby Jones). This guy has definitely got a sinister agenda as he toys with Holmes.

The premiere episode is called ”The Six Thatchers,” episode two is called "The Lying Detective,” and the third and final episode is “The Final Problem.” It’s crazy to think that it will have been nearly two years since the end of the third season!

Sherlock Season 4 begins with the mercurial Sherlock Holmes (Cumberbatch), back once more on British soil as Doctor Watson (Freeman) and his wife Mary (Amanda Abbington) prepare for their biggest challenge yet: becoming parents.

It's been said that this upcoming season will tell a dark story that will have consequences and that it will leave fans desperate for a fifth season. Sherlock season four is set to be released on January 1st, 2017!

PUFF THE MAGIC DRAGON Is Being Adapted into a Film by TROLLS Director Mike Mitchell

Fox Animation has picked up the feature film rights to the classic 1963 folk song "Puff the Magic Dragon," and they are looking to develop it into a CGI animated and live-action hybrid film. The studio has hired Trolls director Mike Mitchell to helm the project, and Akiva Goldsman (Transformers) is set to produce.

"Puff the Magic Dragon" tells the tale of an ageless dragon that lives by the seas who befriends a shy child and takes him to the land called Honalee. I can’t help but think the studio was inspired to make this film by Disney’s wonderful recent remake of Pete’s Dragon.

The song was created by Peter Yarrow and Lenny Lipton and spawned an animated TV special for Puff the Magic Dragon that aired in 1978. It was followed by two sequels called, Puff the Magic Dragon in the Land of the Living Lies and Puff and the Incredible Mr. NobodyBurgess Meredith provided the voice of Puff in the films. I included all three specials below for you to watch if you want.

I really have no idea what to expect from the film, but I wish the studio and the director luck with it.
