This was a bad idea to watch before I ate today! Marvel went and made some Gingerbread Heroes for the holiday season and did a fantastic job creating them! I especially like their Thor and Spider-Man designs, but really all of them are pretty fantastic.

Richard Grant's Villain in LOGAN Revealed

0
0

We now know who Richard Grant will be playing in Logan! Slashfilm says Grant will be playing villain Dr. Zander Rice, the scientist who created X-23. In the comics, Rice is the son of a scientist who was a part of the original Weapon X project that created Wolverine. Zander Rice is motivated to take vengeance on Wolverine after his father was murdered by the mutant in his escape from the lab.

So does this mean X-23 will be a villain as well? Who knows how far they'll follow the comic storyline in the film, but I'm sure there will inevitably be conflict between Wolverine and X-23 at some point in the film, don't you agree?

Logan will be released March 3rd, 2017.

Peter Capaldi Still Isn't Sure If He'll Be the Doctor Past 2017

Peter Capaldi hasn't decided whether or not he's done with Doctor Who after his contract is up in 2017. A new report from CBR claims the question of whether to stay or go is completely up to Capaldi, as BBC has indicated they would like him to remain attached to the series...

“I’ve been asked to stay on and I haven’t made my mind up about that yet, mainly because I don’t want to have to make that decision…I’m trying to avoid it!”

Personally, I want Capaldi to stick around and see what he can do with the new showrunner Chris Chibnall. I think a majority of the unpopular segments of Capaldi's run have been primarily due to poor writing and a burnt out Steven Moffat. There are a couple episodes where Capaldi put on an iconic performance ("Into The Dalek" and "Hell Bent," the season nine finale, were amazing) that I think he's more than capable of repeating when given strong storylines.

Do you think Capaldi should stick around past 2017, or is it time to move on?

Yesterday, Entertainment Earth invited me out to visit their headquarters and warehouse in Simi Valley, California. If you're familiar with Entertainment Earth, then you know that they specialize in all kinds awesome toys, collectibles, and other geeky products.

It was an incredibly cool experience to go out there and meet the team that runs the company. Every single person I met there is a fan, and every desk was filled with toys and collectibles from the parts of geek culture that they love. Those guys live and breathe geekdom!

One of the main reasons they brought me down was to take me on a $500 dollar shopping spree to experience a wickedly cool promotion that they just announced. By clicking here, you can enter to win a chance to be flown down to their headquarters for a $1000 spree! You will get to pick a $1000 worth of stuff! Anything you want that is available in their catalog!

I had a freakin' blast going to their huge warehouse looking for and picking out the items that I chose. It was like going on an epic scavenger hunt, and it ended with a trove of glorious action figures that I've been wanting to get! I picked out a lot of different toys from some of my favorite things like Batman: The Animated Series, The Twilight Zone, some cool specialty items like a Samurai Spider-Man and Stormtrooper, and more! I'll show off all of that stuff later!

This post was just to let you know that you can enter to win something incredibly cool and have a crazy whirlwind of an experience that you'll never forget. As a long time toy collector, this is definitely one of the most fun experiences that I've had.

James Franco Rumored to Appear in ALIEN: COVENANT

There's an interesting rumor that started over at AvPGalaxy. They claim to have knowledge that James Franco will appear in Ridley Scott's highly anticipated film Alien: Covenant.

According to the report, Franco will play a character named Branson, who is the captain of the Covenant and husband of Katherine Waterson’s Daniels. It's said that his appearance will be brief and that he will only be in the first ten minutes of the film and will have small reappearances later on.

There are no details given as to what happens to the character, but he is said to also be appearing in some upcoming viral footage that will be released. I speculate that Franco will play a main role in kicking off the story before he is killed. I also think those appearances that he's supposed to make later on in the film will most likely be video journal type footage with information that will shed some light on a main plot point of the film.

That's just me speculating, but it's a formula in storytelling that we've seen time and time again in films over the years. Film history also shows that Franco wouldn't be the first big star to be killed off in the first ten minutes of film!

Alien: Covenant hits theaters on May 19, 2017.

J.J. Abrams Is Developing a Sci-Fi Series for HBO Called GLARE

J.J. Abrams is teaming up with HBO for a new series project called Glare, and no, the story doesn't revolve around Abrams' signature lens flares. The series is a sci-fi space exploration story about the colonization of another planet.

As of right now, that's the only information regarding the plot that we have so far. Abrams will serve as an executive producer on the series with Ben Stephenson and Javier Gullón, who is writing on the project. He wrote the script for Jake Gyllenhaal's Enemy.

Abrams is currently a producer on the HBO series Westworld, which just concluded its incredible first season! Hopefully he can bring his storytelling magic to this new series. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Zack Snyder Will Direct THE LAST PHOTOGRAPH Before JUSTICE LEAGUE 2, Which Comes Out After THE BATMAN

0
0

Director Zack Snyder is finally going to take a break from making DC films to focus on a passion project of his called The Last Photograph. He is set to direct this film before he gets to work on Justice League 2

THR reports that Justice League 2 has been pushed back so that Ben Affleck's The Batman can be released before it. This will give Snyder the time he needs to make his other movie, which I imagine would be refreshing for him since he's been working on nothing but DC films since The Man of Steel.

Snyder started developing The Last Photograph in the mid-2000s, after he finished 300. The script for the film was written by Kurt Johnstad (300, 300: Rise of an Empire). The story "centers on a war correspondent in Afghanistan who is the only one to survive an attack on a group of Americans. When a special ops soldier in search of a family member shows up, the two team up, with the correspondent hoping to score the story of his life."

There's no information on who will star in the film at this time, but back in 2011 Christian Bale and Sean Penn were attached to star. The movie will most likely be set up at Warner Bros. since that where Snyder has a first look deal.

I'm actually happy to hear that Snyder is going to be directing a film that doesn't involve superheroes or comic books. This sounds like a solid project, and I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with it.

The Evolution of Batgirl from 1956 to 2016 Featured in Infographic

Batgirl has a long, interesting history and has evolved a lot over the years. We've got a great infographic for you to check out today. It comes to us from Fun.com and it shows all the versions of the character we've seen since she was first introduced into the DC Comics universe in 1956. It also offers up information of each of the versions that she's gone through.

There have been several versions of Batgirl over the years, but the most the definitive one has been Barbara Gordon, who made her DC Comics debut on November 29, 1966 in Batman #359. While it’s been 50 years since Gordon’s debut as Batgirl, there was another Bat-girl (Betty Kane) who debuted 5 years earlier in Batman #159. Betty Kane is the niece of Kathy Kane, the original Batwoman who, coincidentally, debuted 60 years ago in 1956.
As we celebrate the 50, 55, and 60-year anniversaries of the Bat-women, we’ve put together this infographic featuring Barbara Gordon and all her different appearances over the years, from her comic debut to her TV and film roles to her current run in the DC Superhero Girls web series and various other comics. We’ve also included her run as Oracle, which originated from her controversial role in Alan Moore’s The Killing Joke. Eventually, she returned to the superhero role as part of DC's reboot in 2011. Check out Barbara Gordon and other versions of Batgirl in our infographic below!

Hasbro has revealed one hell of a great looking action figure of The Vulture from Marvel's Spider-Man: Homecoming. This is the first 6-inch figure revealed in a Spider-Man: Homecoming line that they plan on releasing.

Hasbro definitely went all out creating this thing because the detail is impressive. You've got all the flight gear and the wings. The wings alone come with 12 points of articulation.

After seeing this figure, I can't wait to see the other action figures they plan on releasing! This looks like it's going to be a must-own collection for fans!

Mondo recently announced a Nickelodeon-themed gallery art show that they are putting on called A Nick-Nick-Nick-Nick-N-Nick-Nick-Nick... Nickelodeon Show! and they've released a couple of posters inspired by their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. They were created by Ciro Nieli, who is a producer and director on the show, and as you can see they have a very unique style to them. They have a very sketchy feel to them and they are filled with notes, which is actually kinda cool. The first poster features Casey Jones and the second is of Metalhead, who is a fifth robot Ninja Turtle created by Donatello.

I also included a few other pieces that they teased featuring Ren & Stimpy by Florian Bertmer, TMNT by Sachin Teng, and Rocko's Modern Life by Dave Perillo. The art show takes place from December 9th to the 17th at Mondo Gallery in Austin, Texas.

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Sequel Announced With a Release Date

0
0

Sony Pictures is so excited about Spider-Man: Homecoming that they went ahead and announced the sequel with a release date. The movie is being referred to as Spider-Man: Homecoming 2, but we all know that's not going to be the title. The sequel is set to be released on July 5th, 2019. We've got a ways to go before we see it, and it was kind of a no-brainer that they would make a sequel, but now we know when you can expect it.

There's no word on who will be back to develop the sequel, but I imagine many of the main players from the first film will return to work on it like director Jon Watts, writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan GoldsteinTom Holland, Marisa Tomei, and a few others. But we'll just have to wait to see how this first movie plays out first and if Marvel wants to work with them again.

The studio also announced that Bad Boys 4 will be released on Memorial Day weekend, on May 24th, 2019. The third installment of the film franchise, Bad Boys for Life, is being directed by Joe Carnahan and sees the return of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. It comes out on January 12, 2018. I assume the two actors will be back for the fourth film as well.
