I love the Internet and its ability to show me random things that will ruin other things I love. I don't think I'm ever going to be able to watch Spider-Man again without thinking of House of Pain's "Jump Around" ever again. This is just too good! Watch the video below and have your future viewing experiences ruined in the best way possible.

FX's LEGION Gets a Slick New Trailer and an Official Premiere Date

Noah Hawley did an amazing job translating the offbeat world of the Coen Brothers to the small screen with FX's Fargo, and now the showrunner is jumping into another well-established universe for his newest TV endeavor. The network has been teasing us with some cool trailers for Legion, which I'm sure you all know by now features characters from Marvel's X-Men comics, and today there's a brand new one that comes along with an official release date. We've known for a while that the show would debut in February of 2017, but now we know when: Wednesday, February 8th.

The new trailer tips more heavily toward story than atmospherics; the previous ones have largely been more about style than anything else. Here, the '70s-inspired design and excellent cast (including Downton Abbey star Dan Stevens and Parks and Rec favorite Aubrey Plaza) take the forefront as we get a bit more information about the twisted mind of David Haller, who happens to be the son of Professor Xavier. Tell us what you think in the comments below.

Must Watch: Hulk vs Hulkbuster in Epic Fan Film "Iron Man: Gamma Protocol"

After over 2 years in the making, Anthony McGrath has finally finished his epic fan film. For the last couple years we've tracked McGrath's progress through concepts and trailers that have been released. I can't even imagine the amount of hours put into this fully CGI project. The Hulk is perfectly recreated, and we even have a CGI Tony Stark, Iron Man suit, and Hulkbuster. The short has a wide range of urban destruction and really great facial animation for Hulk and Stark. This is so well done, It's a must watch to support the Hulk-sized effort put into it.

ROGUE ONE Director Gareth Edwards Also Wants to See an Obi-Wan Kenobi Solo Film

Fans have been clamoring to see an Obi-Wan Kenobi solo film ever since Disney bought Lucasfilm, and now there's one more high-profile personality whose name can be added to the list of those who want to see that happen: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story director Gareth Edwards.

In an interview with Fandango, Edwards was asked what other Star Wars movie he'd most like to direct or watch as a fan, and his answer aligned with those who are hoping to see more of the mysterious period during Obi-Wan's desert days:

"To be honest, Rogue One is the period I love. It’s connecting to the original New Hope. If someone made other films in that era – and I don’t necessarily think this is happening, I have no inside knowledge – but that desire to see Obi-Wan Kenobi. Tatooine, basically, I love. As a kid I remember wanting to grow up there; anything in that "Original Trilogy" era I am just besotted with, and it’s just like going back home to your childhood.
That’s the thing with Star Wars – even the bad places you want to go to," he said. "We were doing that on [Rogue One]; there are places that are bad, but you still want to go there. You want to make it beautiful; you want to go and hang out there even if it’s horrific."

Recently, we heard a rumor about why Disney and Lucasfilm may be avoiding an Obi-Wan solo film for the moment, and you can read all about that right here. One thing's for sure, though: Ewan McGregor is up for reprising his role, and we even have a slight idea of what it could look like thanks to this fan video.

What do you think? Do you agree with Edwards?

Video: The Top 10 Weirdest Batman Characters

0
0

Let's face it: Batman has the best Rogues' Gallery in all of comics. But since the character has been consistently fighting crime since the late 1930s, over the years writers have had to stretch a little bit beyond classics like The Penguin, Two-Face, and The Joker, and there have been some pretty damn weird characters that have popped up in the process.

Have you ever heard of Crazy Quilt? Emoticon Man? The Condiment King? Hardcore Bat-fans know these characters, but maybe those of you who largely know the Caped Crusader and his cohorts through his big screen (or small screen) adventures may not instantly recognize those more obscure names. In this video, WatchMojo counts down their picks for the top 10 weirdest Batman characters, and I must say, they do a pretty solid job.

Is Armie Hammer Playing Green Lantern in the DCEU?

Sometimes, all it takes is someone following someone else on Twitter to get internet sleuths to start theorizing. And the latest hubbub involves the future of Green Lantern in the DC Extended Universe.

Over the past few days, DC's Geoff Johns started following The Social Network and The Lone Ranger star Armie Hammer on Twitter, and Hammer followed him as well. As you know, WB has announced a Green Lantern Corps movie, and there have been some rumors that Green Lantern may appear in Zack Snyder's upcoming Justice League (it wouldn't truly be the Justice League without him, would it?). Now, just because the role of Green Lantern is currently unfilled and Hammer — an actor with leading man looks, tentpole movie experience, and a past history with not only superhero movies, but specifically a Justice League movie that never got off the ground — has a little flurry of Twitter activity, that's nowhere close to an official casting announcement. But it's not nothing, either.

And as ComicBook pointed out to us, Hammer humorously trolled fans who were thinking an announcement was imminent:

Nicely done. But Joe Manganiello, who's playing Deathstroke in the DCEU, tweeted something at Hammer that will have fans right back in skeptical mode:

I would not be surprised to see some official casting in the next couple of days, so keep your eyes peeled. What do you think? Is Hammer a good choice for the next Hal Jordan, or would you like to see him play a different Lantern instead? (This could all be nothing, by the way...remember, some people thought Hammer might be playing Ant-Man back in the day.)

Classic Studio Ghibli Characters Enter the Real World in Wonderful Fan Video

I've got a fantastically entertaining video here for all you Studio Ghibli fans to watch. It was created by Korean filmmaker Kojer, and it features several popular Studio Ghibli characters hanging out and living in the real world. It's perfectly executed ,and I freakin' love how it turned out. It's so cool seeing what the animated versions of these characters would be doing if they were a part of our world, and strangely, it all seems so natural! The video is perfectly accompanied by the song “One Summer’s Day,” from Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away.

Report: 7 Minute Prologue of Christopher Nolan's DUNKIRK Will Debut Before Some ROGUE ONE 70mm IMAX Screenings

0
0

Here's some cool news for the I-would-imagine-to-be-rather-large cross section of cinephiles who are interested in both Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Christopher Nolan's upcoming movie Dunkirk.

/Film reports that a seven minute prologue of Dunkirk will screen in front of select 70mm IMAX screenings of Rogue One. Even though Gareth Edwards didn't shoot any of Rogue One in IMAX's native 70mm format, the new Star Wars film is still being shown in that format in 15 theaters around the world, and those are the screenings in which fans will reportedly be able to see the Dunkirk prologue. The site isn't sure whether the prologue will be extended to IMAX's digital screenings (which is how a majority of you will probably watch the film) or whether the studio is going to be keeping it relatively limited, so we'll have to wait and see how it turns out.

I'm a little surprised about this because I'd have thought Disney would save that kind of prime time slot for a preview of one of the studio's own upcoming films, but it sounds like they may have worked something out with Warner Bros to make this prologue event happen. This will be a cool bonus for Rogue One fans looking forward to seeing more huge war movie action on the big screen, especially since Nolan specifically filmed a good portion of his new movie using IMAX cameras.

Immediately before writing this, I was out getting some groceries and saw Nolan walking down the street in front of my local grocery store. If I'd known about this report before I went, I could have walked up to him and asked him about it directly!

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on December 16, 2016, while Dunkirk arrives on July 21, 2017.

Optimus Prime Fights Bumblebee in First Trailer for TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT

0
0

The first trailer for Michael Bay's Transformers: The Last Knight has blown up online, and this next chapter in the Transformers film franchise is definitely different from what we've seen in the previous movies. There are a lot of crazy different elements being thrown into this film like King Arthur, knights, and Nazis. Then there's the fact that Optimus Prime and Bumblebee get into a fight in this trailer! I have no idea what that's all about, but we'll see!

The film sees the return of Mark Wahlberg as inventor Cade Yeager, and as we previously learned, the sequel dives deep into the mythology of the Transformers and their home of Cybertron. We'll learn how they were created, where their story starts, and how they went from a slave-race to a sentient race. Judging by the different times in history that the film will explore, the human race will tie into the mythology.

The trailer has got everything you'd expect to see from a Michael Bay Transformers movie. It visually looks incredible. I just hope that they finally give fans a great story!

From what we know, the Transformers are being hunted down on Earth by the Transformers Reaction Force, which is being headed up by Santos (Santiago Cabrera) and Lennox (Josh Duhamel), and Yeager is in hiding or on the run. On his journey, he joins forces with couple new characters including Izabella (Isabela Moner) and Vivian (Laura Haddock).

The return of Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager, genius inventor. The addition of Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins. And, for some reason, King Arthur and his knights. Because, hey, “less is more” has never been the Michael Bay way. Yep, he’s back too, despite swearing up and down after Age of Extinction that he would not return to direct another.

The movie also see's the return of John Turturro and Stanley Tucci. Transformers: The Last Knight will be released in theaters on June 23, 2017.

Michael Bay Was Pitched an R-Rated, Tarantino-Style Bumblebee TRANSFORMERS Movie

0

As you know, Paramount Pictures is currently developing a Bumblebee Transformers spin-off movie. This script is currently being written by Christina Hodson (Shut In, Unforgettable), and even though there are no details on what the story will entail, there was one idea pitched to director Michael Bay that we'll never see on the big screen, which is a bloody shame! Why? Because it would be an R-rated film with a Quentin Tarantino-style vibe to it. During an interview with Collider, Bay said:

"You know, yeah, that would be fun. There’s actually one idea that would be really fun R rated, with Bumblebee. I don’t wanna say, but it would be really fun. Very Quentin [Tarantino], you know."

Now, that's a Transformers movie I would be excited to see! There's no way that Hasbro would ever allow that to happen in a million years, though. I wish he would have given more details on it. Right now, I'm just imagining Reservoir Dogs, but with Transformers.

Would you be up for an R-rated, Tarantino-style Bumblebee movie?

George Lucas Liked STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE, and See Gareth Edward's Movie Poster Notes

0
0

There are a lot of hardcore Star Wars fans currently holding their tickets to go see Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. We are getting so close to the film's release, and there's been a lot of news and details about the film flooding the internet recently. In this post we find out what George Lucas thought of the movie, we see some poster notes from director Gareth Edwards, and we learn what the director stole from the set.

Very few people have seen the full cut of the movie, and one of those people is George Lucas. In case you've been wondering what he thought about it, Edwards said that he liked the movie, which is a big deal to him:

"Two days ago, we got to show George the movie. We all had a phone call and I got to speak with him yesterday. And I don’t want to put words into his mouth, but I can honestly say that I can die happy now. He really liked the movie, so it meant a lot. To be honest, and no offense to anyone here, it was the most important review to me... and I will take that conversation to the grave. It was a real privilege and his opinion means the world to me."

I would have loved to hear that conversation, but Edwards is obviously incredibly happy with what Lucas had to say to him about the film. I'd be ecstatic, too, if I made a Star Wars movie and Lucas told me he loved it!

Edwards was involved with pretty much every aspect of this film production including the marketing. I haven't really been a big fan of most of the posters that have been released as they've been pretty weak. But an image of one of the posters for the film popped up online featuring some note from Edwards on how to make it better. It's pretty amusing because, as you'll see, it's clearly a joke. Among other things, he wants the “visual effects & animation by Industrial Light & Magic” credit be in a smaller font, ILM chief creative officer John Knoll‘s “story by” credit be removed from the poster, and says that he wants the “directed by Gareth Edwards” credit to be enlarged. You can check it out below.

Edwards also revealed in a Facebook Live interview that the one prop he stole from the set of the film was the Death Star plans, which seems absolutely appropriate. He said:

There was only one thing I wanted out of the whole shoot, and the entire time I kept whispering to people like, Where do you keep that? Where will it be at the end? How do I get ahold of it? Can I have it? And it was like, Oh, no, this is going to be archived, it’s part of film history. So I obviously didn’t do this, because then they’d want it back.... I stole the Death Star plans.

I wouldn't count on Lucasfilm or the Empire getting them back from him. I'm sure he's already locked them away in a place that no one can find.

Vin Diesel Says that Hulk and Groot Will Eventually Fight in the MCU

0
0

We know that that the Guardians of the Galaxy will eventually be teaming up with the Avengers to fight Thanos in the upcoming Avengers sequels. One of the most exciting things about this crossover for me is seeing Rocket Raccoon interacting with the likes of Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, and the other characters. Now I have something more to be excited about, because according to Vin Diesel, Hulk and Groot are going to end up fighting each other! This is what he had to say about it in an interview with Screen Junkies:

"I know that somewhere in the universe you're going to see Groot and Hulk battle, I know it! Write it down somewhere, you're going to see that posted...Groot versus Hulk."

The actor said this in a "matter of fact" kind of way. He didn't sound like he was messing around at all. He doesn't really say what movie that would be in, I'm just speculating that it could happen in one of the Avengers sequels because that seems like it's the only time that's planned right now for these two worlds will collide.

I would freakin' love to see Hulk and Groot fight on the big screen! By the time Avengers: Infinity War comes around, Groot should be all grown up again and ready to take on the Green Goliath.

Hilarious STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE CG Animated Comedy Short - ROGUE WHA?

I've got an incredibly funny CG animated Rogue One: A Star Wars Story fan video for you to watch. It's called "Rogue Wha?" and it features three short comedy sketches that are pretty wacky and great.

The first segment features the Rebels' secret weapon to fight off AT-ACT walkers. The second shows us one of the most wonderfully awkward landings of a TIE Fighter ever seen, and the third features the Death Metal troopers rocking out... hardcore.

The video was created by Darren Wallace, and I think you'll all enjoy craziness it contains. Enjoy!

The TRANSFORMERS Films Were So Intense to Make That They Broke Industrial Light & Magic’s Computers

0
0

Regardless of how you feel about Michael Bay's Transformers movies, the special effects and animation that bring the robot characters and world to life are pretty incredible. There's just so much explosive eye candy! Every time I watch these movies my brain is just overloaded with insane visuals.

In a recent interview with /Film for Transformers: The Last Knight, Bay said that the VFX world and animation is so complex that they break the computers at Industrial Light & Magic. He says:

"We always break the ILM computer. We have the heaviest model ILM has ever had. They gotta shutdown ILM for a weekend and it breaks the computers."

He went on to explain why these Transformers film break the ILM computers saying:

"It’s because of the heaviness of the models. They’re so dense, so many pixels they can’t…like, a heavy model is a building that fell down. Built a real building. All that reflective, every window had its own little piece of software. If it moves…that shuts the computers down. And we’re gonna have models way heavier than that but their computers get faster and faster each year. ILM can explain it a lot better than me. They literally have to get everything offline so they can handle the model because they’re so dense. They can’t do multi-shows or anything. They have to clear the decks. It’s supposed to take months doing it the normal way but by using all the computer power you can get it done in a weekend."

That sounds like a complete pain in the ass. With all the work that goes into making these awesome visual movies, you'd think Paramount Pictures, Bay, and his team would actually set out to tell an amazingly good story, instead of the mediocre scripts that they keep pumping out.

Below you'll find a behind-the-scene featurette for Transformers: Dark of the Moon that focuses on the VFX work that was done on the film. It'll give you an idea of what Bay is talking about.

4 Great New STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE Promos - Jyn Erso Featurette, 2 TV Spots, and Final International Trailer

Lucasfilm is making a huge marketing push for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story right before its released. We've been seeing and posting a ton of promotional videos recently, and we have more to add to the collection.

We've got a fantastic new featurette that focuses on Felicity Jones' Jyn Erso and explains who she is. We've got a couple of new TV spots titled "Surrender" and "Believe," and then there's a final full international trailer for you to check out!

All of the videos offer some cool and exciting new footage from the film. I'm sure there are some fans out there who are avoiding watching any more footage from this movie, but I can't help it! I am enjoying watching everything that I can!

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set for release on December 16, 2016.

THE MUMMY Gets an Awesome MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE Mashup Trailer

I thought the first trailer for Tom Cruise's The Mummy looked a lot like a Mission: Impossible film, only with a heavy supernatural element. It looks like it could have been a crazy storyline for Mission: Impossible 6! Well, video editor Louis Plamondon, a.k.a. Sleepy Skunk, thought the exact same thing and made a fantastically fun trailer mashup for Screen Crush using footage from The Mummy and Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol. He calls it "Mission: Impossible - Mummy Protocol," and you can enjoy the fruits of his labor below.
