Margot Robbie Surfs on a Motorcycle in SUICIDE SQUAD Deleted Scene

Earlier today, I wrote about a Suicide Squad featurette that gives a bit of insight into the on-set working relationship between Jared Leto and Margot Robbie as they portrayed two of DC Comics' most iconic characters, The Joker and Harley Quinn. But DC isn't finished releasing snippets of bonus content from its latest cinematic offering.

Leto has said director David Ayer shot enough Joker footage to make an entire Joker solo film, but he barely appeared in the finished product (the lack of Joker footage in the movie was so contentious, a fan sued Warner Bros. for false advertising). EW has a deleted scene from the film that gives us a hint at what one of those scenes would look like: Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn sees a motorcycle on the ground and flashes back to a time when she was still Doctor Harleen Quinzel, and a sequence when she was so mentally broken that Joker's allure caused her to surf on a motorcycle in order to get him to pay attention to her. I don't like this movie, but I will admit, she looks pretty badass surfing on that motorcycle. Granted, it's not the same as actual surfing on a motorcycle like Vin Diesel does in the new xXx movie, but we can't all be as ridiculous as Vin Diesel, so I'll cut her some slack.

Marvel Is Developing THE INHUMANS as a TV Series with Black Bolt and the Royal Family

Marvel has officially announced that The Inhumans will be developed as a TV series for ABC. The studio is also planning to premiere the first two episodes of the series in IMAX theaters!

Earlier this month, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said that he thought it was happening on television, then said that it could happen as a movie. Well, it looks like it going to be both! It's kind of interesting that pretty much everyone skipped over the television part of that comment and thought maybe he was talking about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but he was actually talking about an actual TV series!

I was really hoping for an actual film, and it would have been cool to see Vin Diesel in the role of Black Bolt, but I don't think that's happening now. We know that Black Blot will be in the series because Marvel announced the series with a big image of the character. He's also one of the most recognizable characters from the team who has Hulk-level strength and powers. Also, when Black Bolt speaks, he creates a huge and destructive shockwave. It was revealed by Marvel Senior Communications Manager Joe Taraborrelli on Twitter that the Inhuman Royal Family will be involved with the series as well.

The Inhuman Royal Family includes Black Bolt, who rules the Inhumans with the help of his royal family including his wife Medusa, whose prehensile hair has superhuman strength. "He is supported by Gorgon, whose cloven hooves can create terrifying controlled shock-waves. Karnak the Shatterer, whose power allows him to see the flaw in anything, logic, matter, even reality itself, and pierce that flaw destroying even things that were thought to be nigh indestructible. Triton, capable of breathing underwater and swimming at superhuman speeds." Then there's Maximus the Mad, who is described as a "genius, inventor, creator, madman, he, when he's had his medication is the technological genius of the royal family. Off his meds, he is just as dangerous to the Inhumans as any other threat with an intimate knowledge of the Royal Family to boot."

It's pretty cool that Marvel is moving forward with The Inhumans, I just hope they do something awesome with it. I just wish it weren't coming to ABC because they will be so limited to what they can do with these characters. This has the potential to be epic, but ABC has never really done anything epic before. I can only hope that it will end up being better than Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Here's the official press release with all of the details and statements from the people involved with bringing it to life:

IMAX Corp. (NYSE: IMAX), Marvel Television, a unit of Marvel Entertainment, and Disney|ABC Television Group today announced an innovative agreement to exclusively premiere the new ABC series “Marvel’s The Inhumans” in IMAX commercial theatres, marking the first time a live-action television series has debuted in this manner.
Under the agreement, a version of the first two episodes of Marvel Television’s new series “Marvel’s The Inhumans”--produced in conjunction with ABC Studios and filmed entirely with IMAX digital cameras--will run worldwide exclusively in IMAX for two weeks at the beginning of September 2017. ABC plans to then premiere the weekly series in fall, with additional exclusive content that can only be seen on the network.
The Inhumans, a race of superhumans with diverse and singularly unique powers, were first introduced in Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1965. Since that time, they have grown in prominence and become some of the most popular and iconic characters in the Marvel Universe. “Marvel’s The Inhumans” will explore the never-before-told epic adventure of Black Bolt and the royal family.
ABC, IMAX and Marvel Television also intend to work together to create a joint marketing and promotion plan for the series across their proprietary media platforms--which would be the first such cross-platform marketing launch of a television series. Today’s agreement also marks IMAX’s first time as a financing participant in a TV pilot and series.
“This unprecedented alliance represents a bold, innovative approach to launching great TV content for a worldwide audience,” said Ben Sherwood, co-chairman, Disney Media Networks and president, Disney|ABC Television Group. “It highlights Disney|ABC’s unrelenting commitment to finding new and creative ways to showcasing our very best programming and increasing global engagement and reach.”
“This first-of-its-kind multi-platform production, distribution and marketing agreement brings together Marvel Television’s unique brand of entertainment, ABC’s unparalleled audience and IMAX’s brand and global fanboy demographic,” said IMAX CEO, Rich Gelfond. “It also takes our decades-long relationship with The Walt Disney Company to a whole new level, jointly breaking new ground in the industry. We are confident our exhibition partners will be excited to work with us on this innovative launch of a series across the IMAX network.”
“We're happy to see this unique deal come together, working with our partners,” said Dan Buckley, President, Marvel Television, Publishing & Brand. “In an ever-changing world of distribution and consumption, it’s very exciting to be part of a groundbreaking initiative that takes us to the forefront of this evolution.”
This deal also provides audiences with high-quality, compelling entertainment options during what have traditionally been lulls in the summer blockbuster season. These IMAX audiences also tend to have high engagement and positive response to comic book fare.

THE WITCH Director Robert Eggers Discusses His Plans for the NOSFERATU Remake

A year ago it was announced that The Witch director Robert Eggers would be directing a remake of the classic 1922 vampire film Nosferatu. I'd normally be upset about this kind of remake news, but I was so impressed by what Eggers did with The Witch that I think he could actually direct an incredible Nosferatu film.

When the project was first announced it was described as "a visceral adaptation of F.W. Murnau’s 1922 silent film masterpiece that brings the horrific vampire of Eastern European folklore back to the screen." We now have some additional details on the film from Eggers.

In a recent interview with IndieWire, the director talked about how when he first saw a picture of actor Max Schreck as Count Orlok in a book in his elementary school he lost his mind. He made his mom drive him to the mall to buy him a VHS copy of the film. He went on to reveal that this wouldn't be the first time he's directed a take on the story:

“Then, when I was 17, I directed the senior play [of] ‘Nosferatu.' It was very expressionist, it was much more expressionist than the film is. It was ‘Cabinet of Dr. Caligari’ style [German Expressionistic].”

He went on to talk about what he would have done with the film when he was 17, and what he looking to do with the film saying:

“That’s when I realized this is what I want to be doing. ‘Nosferatu’ has a very close, magical connection for me. Though if I were to make the movie 17-year-old Rob was going to make of ‘Nosferatu’ it would have been something between like ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ and ‘Sin City,’ whereas this is going to be the same approach as ‘The Witch,’ where 1830s Biedermeier Baltic Germany needs to be articulated in a way that seems real.”

He's obviously learned a lot since he was 17. I was really hoping that he would take that same approach he used on The Witch. I have no doubt that he's going to bring some insane detail to his film both visually and with the way the story and characters are brought to life. When talking about remaking a legendary film like this he explained that he has mixed feelings:

“[It’s shocking] to me. It feels ugly and blasphemous and egomaniacal and disgusting for a filmmaker in my place to do ‘Nosferatu’ next. I was really planning on waiting a while, but that’s how fate shook out.”

The original movie is an awesomely terrifying masterpiece based Bram Stoker's Dracula, and it follows a vampire named Count Orlok who "summons Thomas Hutter to his remote Transylvanian castle in the mountains. The eerie Orlok seeks to buy a house near Hutter and his wife, Ellen. After Orlok reveals his vampire nature, Hutter struggles to escape the castle, knowing that Ellen is in grave danger. Meanwhile Orlok's servant, Knock, prepares for his master to arrive at his new home."

Eggers is obviously fully invested in the project, and I think that he's going to give us something special and hopefully something that is just as nightmarish as the original movie. I can't wait to see what he does with it!

DOCTOR STRANGE Deleted Scenes, Rejected Concepts, and Sequel Films - Video Breakdown

Doctor Strange ended up being a huge hit for Marvel, and I personally think that it's one of their best films. They not only did they properly bring this classic comic book character to life, but they managed to give us some incredibly insane visuals and action sequences.

Marvel has been working on this film for years, since before Jon Favreau's Iron Man and over that time the film has gone through changes. Mr. Sunday Movies has released a great video that gives us a breakdown of all the deleted scenes and rejected concepts of the film, as well as what we could see in the sequels. The video came with the following note:

Doctor Strange like all films has a number of deleted scenes and rejected concepts that didn't make the cut. This video looks at that as well as alternate casting, his role in Avengers Infinity War and a bunch of other various things I found while watching and reading a whole lot of interviews and what not with most of them having no real information of substance. Thanks for watching!

If you're a fan of Doctor Strange, this video is definitely worth checking out!

Ryan Reynolds Addresses Director Tim Miller's DEADPOOL 2 Exit

For the first time since director Tim Miller dropped out of Deadpool 2, actor Ryan Reynolds addressed his exit. As you know, the two had very different ideas about how to proceed with the sequel, and Reynolds' vision of the film is the one that won the studio over.

When development of the sequel started rolling forward, Reynolds and writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick were looking to make another “scrappy, raunchy and inexpensive movie,” like they did with the first film. As we previously reported, an inside source revealed that Miller wanted “a more stylish take, one that would compete with mega-budget superhero movies.” They say the budget for his vision would have skyrocketed to over $150 million.

During a recent interview with GQ, Reynolds didn't have anything but positive things to say about Miller:

“All I can really add is that I'm sad to see him off the film. Tim's brilliant and nobody worked harder on Deadpool than he did."

There ya go. They may have had their creative differences on how to proceed with the sequel, but Reynolds still obviously respects Miller and his talents. The studio still hasn't officially hired a director to replace Miller, but John Wick filmmaker David Leitch is on the top of their list

There are no plot details for the sequel at this time, but we know that Cable will be in it and that Fox is already planning Deadpool 3 with the possible inclusion of the X-Force. Fox has a great first film that fans completely fell for. Hopefully, they can keep it up the awesomeness as they continue with the franchise.

Artist Marc Hagan-Guirey, a.k.a. Paper Dandy, has created an incredibly awesome series of Star Wars fan art. Each one is mind-blowingly made with a single sheet of paper that has been meticulously crafted into an iconic scene from the original trilogy of films.

This incredible work of paper engineering is known as kirigami, and these were a part of an exhibition called "Cut Scene." You've got to be one hell of a talented and skilled artist to create these things. The level of details is stunning, and the fact that each one was done with a single sheet of paper is amazing.

If you want to learn about the artist and what goes into crafting this badassery, head over to StarWars.com.

A new promo spot has been released for The CW's upcoming crossover event series that includes Supergirl, Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow. The promo confirms that Deathstroke is in the series and also gives us our first look at The Dominators. The Dominators are the alien race that the heroes will be taking on in the four-part series that was inspired by DC Comics' Invasion

I heard rumors about Deathstroke being included in the series, and it looks like they were true. There's no word on how big his role in the series will be, but it would be cool if he ended up making a big impact on the story. We'll just have to wait and see how it all plays out.

This event series seems like it's one of the biggest things that The CW has ever done and looks like it's going to be a lot of fun. The "Invasion!" crossover event will start to air on November 28th. Supergirl will kick off the event on Monday at 8 p.m. ET/PT; continue with The Flash on Tuesday; Arrow on Wednesday and Legends of Tomorrow on Thursday.

James Gunn Says Ego the Living Planet Is So Important to GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 That There Was No Back Up Plan

Yesterday it was reported that Marvel and Fox worked together for a character trade. Fox wanted the rights to Negasonic Teenage Warhead for Deadpool, and Marvel wanted back the rights to Ego The Living Planet, who will appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. It's pretty cool that the two worked together to make this happen. It seems each of the studios was in a tight spot, but James Gunn must have been really sweating it.

In a recent Facebook post from the director, he confirmed this news was true. He also explained that when he wrote the Guardians sequel he thought Marvel already owned the rights to Ego. He went on to say that Ego was so important to the story that there was absolutely no back up plan, so getting the rights to Ego from Fox was vital to the movie. Gunn explained:

"Yes, this is true! When I first pitched Ego as Quill's father, I THOUGHT we owned the character. After I had worked out a very elaborate story with Ego the Living Planet as a very important part of the Marvel cosmic universe, I learned that we actually didn't own the character. I had no back up plan, and it would be nearly impossible to just drop another character in. Thank God Fox came to us and wanted to make a trade... "

It's great that everything worked out in the end, but I imagine Gunn was probably sweating bullets until the trade was made. If there was no backup plan, I wonder what would have happened had Marvel not gotten the rights to Ego the Living Planet back. Would Gunn have started over again? Would he have not done the sequel at all!? Either way, I'm happy things played out the way they did.

As you all know by now, Kurt Russell plays Ego in the film, and it's cool to know that he plays such an important role not only in the story for Guardians 2, but to the whole Marvel cosmic universe. Now I'm more interested in Ego's part in this film more than ever!

Steven Spielberg's Visual Influence on STRANGER THINGS Explored in Comparison Video

$

As you know, Stranger Things was influenced by many of the classic '80s films that some of us grew up with. One of the main influences, though, was Steven Spielberg. All throughout the series I was seeing homages to the legendary filmmaker.

I've got a cool video here for you to check out that was created by Really Dim, and it gives us a side-by-side comparison of the visuals from a few of Spielberg's movies with the visuals from Stranger Things. Some of the films included in the video are E.T., Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and Poltergeist

A lot of them are pretty obvious, but there are a few in there that didn't click with me until I actually saw them in the video below, so it might be worth checking out when you get a chance.

Wolverine Is On the Run with X-23 in New Poster for LOGAN

Fox has released a new poster for director James Mangold's Logan, and it features Hugh Jackman's Wolverine on the run with Dafne Keen’s young mutant character Laura Kinney, a.k.a. X-23. In the film, Logan teams up with Charles Xavier, and it seems like they will embark on a journey to protect this young mutant from villains who want to get their hands on her. Certain elements of the plot were previously explained:

Logan takes place in the year 2024...Old Man Logan is in full effect. Logan looks bad, and drinks a lot. For work, he drives a 2024 Chrysler 300 limo that looks modified in the front to look more futuristic. He’s sick, his powers are fading, and he heals much more slowly — and sometimes not at all.
In 2024, mutant births are severely in decline, and people aren’t sure why. We find out about a government-type operation called “Transigen” that is turning mutant children into killing machines. Logan ends up mentoring the girl, who has two claws instead of his three.

Logan is the final film that Jackman will star in as Wolverine, and it will most likely be the last time we see Patrick Stewart in the role of Xavier as well. This movie looks like it's going to be incredible. I loved how it was presented to us in the first trailer, and I can't wait to see more!

The movie will be released in theaters on March 3, 2017. For more information on the film, click here.

Ryan Reynolds Warned Fox That Fans Would Hate X-MEN: ORIGINS WOLVERINE

$

During a recent interview with GQ, Ryan Reynolds talked about his long road to Deadpool. He revealed some interesting behind-the-scenes details about some things that went down between Reynolds, Fox, and Deadpool over the course of a few year.

The actor spent years trying to persuade Fox to allow him to play Deadpool. They finally offered him the role in their 2007 X-Men: Origins Wolverine, which we all know turned out to be a disaster. Reynolds knew the movie was going to be awful, and it wasn't his ideal situation, but if he didn't take the part, it would've gone to someone else. Reynolds explained:

"It was during a writers’ strike, so all my dialogue in X-Men Origins: Wolverine I wrote. I mean, in the stage directions it just said, 'Deadpool shows up, talks really fast, and makes a lot of jokes.' At the beginning of that movie, that’s pretty close to Deadpool’s Wade Wilson—we’re in the ballpark with that guy. But it completely departed all canon and reason and he wound up being this abomination of Deadpool that was like Barakapool, with his mouth sewn shut and weird blades that came out of his hands and these strange tattoos and stuff like that. If you watch the movie, I’m actually playing only a small section, and another actor, this gifted stunt performer, is doing the lion’s share of that work. The conversation at the time was 'If you want to play Deadpool, this is your chance to introduce him. And if you don’t want to introduce him in this fashion, we’ll have someone else play him.'"

Of course, he wasn't going to turn down the opportunity to play the character, and as bad as the movie was, I'm glad he didn't. If he did turn it down, we probably would have never Deadpool get his own awesome movie years later. He went on to talk about X-Men: Origins leaking online and how it gave him the opportunity to say "I told you so" to the studio chief:

"That movie leaked online a month and a half before it was supposed to be released, and all these people saw it and were so upset about Deadpool. I was in Mexico with some friends, and I was called by the chief of the studio, who said, 'You have to get on a plane right now. We need to re-shoot the very end of the movie.' I was such a douche, because I was like, 'I told you so.' I still get angry, because I remember saying, 'You know, there are more Deadpool fans out there than you realize, and they’re not gonna be happy with this.' I was met with a plausible reason, which was: 'We don’t have enough time to develop a proper Deadpool suit and make him the fully realized version of the comic, so we’re going with this.' But I was like, 'Then don’t do it at all!'"

Over those years Reynolds was constantly trying to persuade the studio to finally make Deadpool. At one point, when he was offered the role of Green Lantern, he tried to push Fox to make the Deadpool movie so that he wouldn't have to do Green Lantern. He explains:

"I wrote a letter to my executive at Fox saying, 'I’m gonna take this movie Green Lantern if you guys aren’t gonna make Deadpool. I’m at the altar, about to say ‘I do’ to somebody else, but tell me you want to spend the rest of your life with me, because I want to spend the rest of my life with you.' And they said, 'Unfortunately, we can’t green-light that movie, and I don’t think it’s ever going to get green-lit.' So I was like, Okay, I’m gonna go move on with my life, then, I guess."

Those Fox guys are crazy! There's no doubt that all of these people were kicking themselves in the ass for the stupid decisions they made with this character after Tim Miller's Deadpool blew up at the box office and was a huge hit with the fans and critics.

I'm just glad that Reynolds never gave up on Deadpool. He pushed and pushed and pushed until Fox finally caved and did it. It was a long and frustrating road, but it all worked out and now everyone is happy!

Warwick Davis' STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE Character Revealed in TV Spot

There's a new TV spot for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story called "Strap In," and it offers us our first look at the alien character Warwick Davis plays in the movie. Davis pointed it out on his Twitter feed and revealed that it's the first character he's played in the Star Wars universe that has actually used a blaster.

Last week the actor posted a behind-the-scenes photo from the set of the film, and if you looked closely, you would have seen the mask of the character he plays being held by one of the crew members.

We still don't know much about Davis' character and what kind of role he plays in the story, but it was enough to get him into one of the promo spots! It looks to me like he's a Rebel fighter ready to kick some ass.

Warwick got his big break in acting as Wicket in Return of the Jedi. He has since appeared in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and he's also set to appear in Star Wars: Episode VIII

Rogue One opens in theaters on December 16th.

Matt Damon Will Cameo in All-Female OCEAN'S 8

Matt Damon will be making an appearance in the all female Ocean's 8 according to Entertainment Tonight. Damon doesn't know much other than that and shares as much with the program...

"I'm doing a little bit in the movie...I haven't read it yet, but the cast is phenomenal and I'm excited to see what those women do with it. It's going to be fun."

Ocean's 8 is set within the same universe as all the other Ocean's films, so Damon should be playing his character from the films.

The film is set to be released summer 2018, and the cast lineup is pretty impressive! I'm curious to see how they keep the series fresh besides just gender-swapping the premise.

Christmas in July is a thing, so why can't July in Christmas be a thing as well? That stupid logic sounds like something straight out of a Deadpool comic, which makes sense seeing as we're showcasing a Deadpool product. Neil Patrick Harris certainly looks like a salty old codger in the latest pictures from A Series Of Unfortunate Events! This is a picture of NPH as Captain Sham, who is actually Count Olaf in disguise. His disguise in this series looks more convincing than both the book's illustrations and Jim Carrey when he portrayed the character in the film!

Of course, it's obvious to all the children that Sham is Olaf, but he seems to fool all the adults around! I'm curious to see how NPH portrays the character — do you think he'll be more serious or just as goofy? Thanks to Slashfilm for the pictures!

Bryan Cranston and James Franco's Comedy WHY HIM? Gets a New Red-Band Trailer

Here's the brand new red-band trailer for Why Him?, 20th Century Fox's upcoming holiday comedy that pits Bryan Cranston against James Franco. The concept seems a little outdated to me, but I can't deny that the two stars are super charismatic and it seems like it'd be fun to watch them go head to head. Of course, because it's a studio comedy in 2016, there has to be some huge gross-out moment alongside the more traditional stuff, and I'm surprised they chose to reveal it in the final seconds of the trailer, because it seems like the kind of thing teenage boys would have lost their sh*t over if they saw it for the first time in context in the theaters.

Why Him? has a great supporting cast that includes Zoey Deutch, Megan Mullally, Keegan-Michael Key, Andrew Rannells, Casey Wilson, and Adam DeVine. It arrives in theaters on December 23, 2016.

We may all have different views on politics, but surely we can all agree on the best fictional Presidents of the United States, right? Screen Crush made a list that I think is worthy of sharing, but I'm saying number one on the list is not worthy.
