Watch: Guy Burns Stuff With Homemade Lightsaber

Homemade lightsabers are nothing new, but it's always neat to see someone with a working model doing some demonstrations for us! This guy used a 7 watt 450 nm to create a weapon that won't slice someone's arm clean off...but it will burn you! This is one of the more powerful models I've seen online as I've seen the balloon popping before, but never a ping pong ball or duct tape! I bet this would set your clothes on fire!

Where did he get the Jedi crystals, though?

New Trailer For Ben Affleck's LIVE BY NIGHT: "We're All Going to Hell"

Warner Bros. has unveiled the final trailer for Live By Night, a gangster drama directed by Ben Affleck. It's based on a book by Dennis Lehane (Gone Baby Gone, Shutter Island), but I didn't realize this movie was also written by Affleck as well (he's previously co-written with other people, but this is his first solo writing credit).

The new trailer has all of the explosive action and Boston accents you'd want out of a 1920s-set gangster movie, and the studio has pushed up its release date to late this year so it qualifies for awards, so they must think they have something good on their hands here. For me personally, this looks a little self-serious, but I've liked everything Affleck has directed thus far, so at this point, there's no reason to think that streak will be broken here.

Live By Night hits limited theaters on December 25th before going wide on January 13, 2017.

Here's the official synopsis:

What you put out into this world will always come back to you, but it never comes back how you predict. Taking fatherly advice is not in Joe Coughlin’s nature. Instead, the WWI vet is a self-proclaimed anti-establishment outlaw, despite being the son of the Boston Police Deputy Superintendent. Joe’s not all bad, though; in fact, he’s not really bad enough for the life he’s chosen. Unlike the gangsters he refuses to work for, he has a sense of justice and an open heart, and both work against him, leaving him vulnerable time and again—in business and in love. Driven by a need to right the wrongs committed against him and those close to him, Joe heads down a risky path that goes against his upbringing and his own moral code. Leaving the cold Boston winter behind, he and his reckless crew turn up the heat in Tampa. And while revenge may taste sweeter than the molasses that infuses every drop of illegal rum he runs, Joe will learn that it comes at a price.

Penelope Cruz Boards MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS Remake

Kenneth Branagh's remake of Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express has just picked up another Oscar-winning passenger.

According to Deadline, Penelope Cruz has boarded the new film, marking the second reunion for this movie: she'll be reuniting with her Pirates 4 co-star Johnny Depp, who will himself be reuniting with his Dark Shadows co-star Michelle Pfeiffer. Daisy Ridley, Michael Pena, Lucy Boynton, Leslie Odom Jr., Josh Gad, and Judi Dench round out the cast, with Branagh himself playing the main character, Detective Hercule Poirot. The murder mystery story follows Poirot as he attempts to solve the murder of an American businessman that occurred on a cross-country train.

Depp portrays Ratchett, Pfeiffer will be Mrs. Hubbard, Ridley plays Mary Debenham, Dench portrays Princess Dragomiroff, Boynton will be Countess Andrenyi. Tom Bateman plays Bouc, Tony-winning stage actor Derek Jacobi portrays Masterman, Peņa is Marquez, Gad is Hector McQueen, and Hamilton star Odom Jr. plays Doctor Arbuthnot. That leaves two major characters that Cruz could be playing: Hildegarde Schmidt, a former cook; or Greta Ohlsson, a missionary/nurse (that seems the more likely choice, since Ingrid Bergman won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for playing that part in the 1974 movie).

Production starts in November in London, and the movie is scheduled to leave the station and pull into theaters on November 22, 2017.

Paramount Sets 2018 Release Date For BUMBLEBEE Spin-Off Movie

Gird your loins, because after Paramount set up a writers' room last year, the studio has enough Transformers story ideas to generate enough movies to last them for the next ten years. That's bad news for those of us who think this series is little more than a nightmarish gnashing of metal with terrible stereotypes and sad attempts at humor thrown in. The good news, though, is that next year's Transformers 5 is apparently the last of these movies that Michael Bay will direct, and with him out and a new batch of writers crafting stories around these characters, there's a chance the series could improve drastically in the coming years.

We knew that their next effort was going to be setting up a Bumblebee spin-off movie, and now Deadline reports that the studio has set a release date for it: June 8, 2018. And there's more positive news: this script was written by Christina Hodson, one of the two female writers the studio hired for its writers' room efforts. In a traditionally male-dominated area of filmmaking, it'll be fascinating to see how Hodson's script stacks up to her counterparts and if she can inject some much-needed quality into this cinematic universe.

Did you know Batman once was plagued with a crippling fear of bats and temporarily became Starman? Typically I'm not too big on these, but whoever made this really did their homework...it's almost like they work for DC or something!

Video: Shia LaBeouf Spits Some Serious Fire in Freestyle Rap

Earlier this morning, I happened to be randomly wondering if Shia LaBeouf had given up his performance art projects or if he was just taking a temporary break from them, and here he is popping up on Sway's Sirius XM show dropping a shockingly competent four minute freestyle rap. But this isn't performance art — it's straight up lyrical art, because if you've ever tried to freestyle, you know how incredibly difficult going on an unbroken run like this is. Shia's got skills, y'all!

Hilarious Video Breaks Down The Typical Tropes of Anime

Just so you're aware, this video is not even close to as pervy as its thumbnail would have you believe. That said, anime can be pervy, and that's one of the tropes of anime! Besides all the sex stuff, Dorkly also has some hilariously biting commentary about the typical action anime fights and the flawed logic behind them. Give it a look-see below.

who-wants-a-dancing-groot-usb-charger-that-actually-dances

There's an awesome dancing Groot USB car charger that now exists for all you Guardians of the Galaxy fans out there. What makes this thing so cool is that it actually dances when it's plugged in and turned on. I feel like if you're stuck in traffic and you have a dancing Groot in the car, your drive will be a little bit more bearable. It comes from Think Geek and it'll only cost you $39.99!

For a character who says the same three words, exclusively, in the same order, for an entire movie, it's hard to imagine being as upset as we were when he switched up JUST ONE of them and sacrificed himself for the rest of the team. It was heartwrenching. But the scene that came in the credits made it all worth it. Cute lil' mini Groot dancing around to a classic song? Sold. We'll take ten.

Have your phone charge to the cutest little floral colossus this side of the galaxy. The Marvel Groot USB Car Charger features the little guy in his tiny pot dancing around while he charges your phone or any other compatible device. Groot will stay nice and safe inside your cup holder, so, luckily, he won’t need to make the ultimate sacrifice just so your phone doesn’t die.

Enjoy the video that was released for the Groot charger below.

I've got a couple great pieces of fan art inspired by Steven Spielberg's classic film Jaws. Each piece features a fun and unique point of view of the Orca boat from inside the shark's mouth.

The piece above was created by artist Justin Osbourn and the one below comes from Glenn Melling. As I look at this art, I just hope that I never have a nightmarish encounter with a shark when I'm out surfing.

Watch Rare Video Footage of Vintage STAR WARS Toys Being Made

I recently came across some rare archive video footage showing classic vintage Star Wars toys from the '80s being made in a factory. It pretty cool to watch and to think that maybe you were one of the kids that ended up with one of these toys that we see in the video.

I had a whole collection of Star Wars action figures when I was a kid. Now they're probably buried in the back yard of the house that I grew up in. I wish I still had them, but at least I got a lot of fun years of play time with them!

The Joker Beats The Hell Out of Robin in BATMAN V SUPERMAN Cosplay Photoshoot

You've gotta check out this incredible cosplay photoshoot that helps fill in the blanks about Robin's death in the DCEU universe that was hinted in Batman v Superman. This photoshoot shows The Joker beating the living hell out of Robin and then setting him on fire. It's definitely a brutal death and I wonder if we'll ever see a flashback of it play out on the big screen in one of these DCEU films that involve Batman.

The cosplay photoshoot comes from Crimson Coscrafts, who has this to say:

Duders and Duderettes, I am proud to present to you the Death in the Family photoshoot I had with the AMAZING Lucas Ambrosio Photography and Photographer - Daniel John Cotton Wall.
The Robin Suit in BvS has always been a bit of a mystery, there was no explanation to it, how it got there or what happened to the boy wonder. We hoped there would be some deleted scene in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice or Suicide Squad, sadly nothing materialised. So here is hoping we find out in the Batman solo movie Mr Ben Affleck.
We decided to set to work to try and fill in some of the blanks that left everyone in the dark. With Myself as Robin and the awesome Stephen Doran as the Joker and the ever lovely Alicit Designs makeup and Facepainting on make up and gore, we set to bringing this Death to life! I hope you enjoy the photos as much as we did making them. Please give everyone a like and some love, as there was a lot of hard work gone into this.

For those of you looking to spice up your yard with a little geeky flavor, ThinkGeek has released a set of hilarious Star Trek: The Next Generation garden gnomes! These wonderfully ridiculous gnomes are sure to put a smile on the faces of anyone that sees them resting in your yard.

We here on Earth, don't need to travel to Risa to experience the beauty of nature. And, unlike the crew of the Enterprise, we don't need a hydroponics lab (or a holodeck) to grow a garden. Adorn your own garden or container plants with a ThinkGeek-exclusive Star Trek: The Next Generation garden gnome or two. Or, if gardening isn't your thing, the gnomes make excellent companions at your desk or dining table. We hear they are also fun at parties, perhaps in your own personal Ten Forward.

The set of Star Trek gnomes will only cost you $24.99 and they seem like they would make a fun gift for any of your family and friends that are fans of Star Trek.

9 Fun New Clips From FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM and Some B-Roll Footage

Warner Bros. has released nine new clips from their highly anticipated film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. What I like about watching film clips is that they give you a better sense of what the film will really be like than a trailer does. You get to see full scenes play out. All the clips are a lot of fun and they offer us some more insight into these characters and this magical world filled with fascinating creatures.

I also included a video featuring seven minutes of behind-the-scenes B-roll footage, which is always cool to watch.

The story opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.

The David Yates-directed movie was written by J.K. Rowling and stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Colin Farrell, Jenn Murray, Jon Voight, Carmen Ejogo, Gemma Chan, and Faith Wood-Blagrove.

Warner Bros. has Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them set to be released on November 18, 2016. This is the first of five films that the studio will release in the franchise and we'll get to see a young Albus Dumbledore in the upcoming sequel, which will be cool!

Dan Stevens and Christopher Plummer Join Charles Dickens Film THE MAN WHO INVENTED CHRISTMAS

The Man Who Invented Christmas is a film that revolves around the story of how Charles Dickens created his iconic classic A Christmas Carol. The movie is based on a book of the same name written by Les Standiford.

Dan Stevens (The Guest, Downton Abby, Beauty and the Beast) has been cast in the role of the young Dickens, Christopher Plummer (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Insider) is playing Scrooge, and Jonathan Pryce will play Dickens’ father.

The story is set in October 1843, "when Dickens was broke and distressed with his previous three books having failed. Rejected by his publishers, he set out to write and self-publish a book he hoped would keep his family afloat, and after six fever-pitched weeks, he created A Christmas Carol."

A Christmas Carol is my favorite Christmas story of all time and I think it's great they are making a film about how it came to be created. Here's the official story summary from the book:

As uplifting as the tale of Scrooge itself, this is the story of how one writer and one book revived the signal holiday of the Western world.

Just before Christmas in 1843, a debt-ridden and dispirited Charles Dickens wrote a small book he hoped would keep his creditors at bay. His publisher turned it down, so Dickens used what little money he had to put out A Christmas Carol himself. He worried it might be the end of his career as a novelist.

The book immediately caused a sensation. And it breathed new life into a holiday that had fallen into disfavor, undermined by lingering Puritanism and the cold modernity of the Industrial Revolution. It was a harsh and dreary age, in desperate need of spiritual renewal, ready to embrace a book that ended with blessings for one and all.

With warmth, wit, and an infusion of Christmas cheer, Les Standiford whisks us back to Victorian England, its most beloved storyteller, and the birth of the Christmas we know best. The Man Who Invented Christmas is a rich and satisfying read for Scrooges and sentimentalists alike.

Clint Eastwood Imagined as Old Man Logan Riding on Horseback with a Hulk Toddler

An artist who goes by the name of The Frisbeeman has released a great piece of art that imagines Clint Eastwood as Old Man Logan. As you can see, he's riding on horseback with a Hulk toddler. The artist says:

"Thinking in Clint Eastwood as Logan ...the Old man Logan with this sense of western and cowboys."

There's been a lot of fan talk over the years of how cool it would be to see Eastwood take on the roles of aging superhero characters like Batman and Wolverine. It'll never happen at this point, but it would have been awesome to see. At least we've got this fan art to enjoy!
