Sideshow Collectibles has unveiled the ultimate Freddy Krueger 1/6th scale action figure from the A Nightmare on Elm Street horror film franchise. If you're a fan of this character, you've got to add this figure to your collection. The detail on this figure, including the iconic clothes, glove, and the gnarly burn scars, is pretty incredible. I've included the description of the figure below along with a bunch of other photos:

Sweet dreams.
Having haunted our dreams (nightmares)  for well over three decades, it only made sense that the next classic horror villain to be realized as a Sideshow Sixth Scale Figure would be Freddy Krueger.
The Freddy Krueger Sixth Scale Figure is an amazingly accurate and detailed recreation of the monster’s look from A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors.  Beneath his trademark fedora is Krueger's burned scowling visage and a fully-detailed cloth costume, including his iconic weathered striped sweater.
To offer collectors the opportunity to pose Freddy in unique ways, Sideshow is including two different takes on the character’s bladed glove hand – one open, one gesturing.  The piece also includes three ungloved hands – open, fist, and pointing.
The Sideshow Exclusive variation will also include an alternate pointing gloved hand.
If you think that you can avoid sleep while having him in your collection, then be sure to pick up the Freddy Krueger Sixth Scale Figure before he crawls back into hell.

If you want to buy one for yourself it'll cost you $199.99, which isn't as expensive as some of the other figures from Sideshow.

Artist Ingo Romling is the creator of this great piece of Star Wars Rebels fan art that features the character Hera Syndulla in a full-on sprint. I have no idea what she's running from but she's definitely got an "oh shit" look on her face.

I don't know how many of you are watching Star Wars Rebels but this current third season has been pretty incredible so far. I just thought this was a fun piece of art that you might enjoy.

Daniel Radcliffe will now be able to add "drug smuggler" to the list of characters he's played in the movies. He will play a drug smuggling pilot in an upcoming action-thriller called Beast of Burden, which is being directed by Swedish filmmaker Jesper Ganslandt.

According to THR, the story centers on Radcliffe's character as he runs drugs across the border while navigating and dodging the "Drug Enforcement Administration, the Cartel and others over the course of a day."

The movie sounds like it could be pretty intense. Radcliffe is always taking on crazy and different roles in films and it's always fun and interesting to see what he'll do next. Radcliffe was most recently seen in the indie film Swiss Army Man and in Now You See Me 2. He is currently set to star in the action-adventure film Jungle

Most Emotional Movie Moments of All Time and a Breakdown of How The Visuals Make Them Brilliant

CineFix has released two videos that you've got to check out. The first offers a list of the 10 most emotional movie moments of all time. The second takes three of those films and breaks down the visuals of those scenes and what makes them so brilliant. These videos are really well done and I especially love the video essay that focuses on the visuals of emotion.

Movies have a way of making us feel, whether it's in the music, the acting, the writing, the composition, or all of the above (and usually, it's all of these things beautifully working together). But at its core, cinema is a medium of moving pictures so we chose the best visuals in movie history that evokes the deepest human emotions.

Video Breakdown Explains How Quentin Tarantino's Movie Universe is Connected

We all know that the films of Quentin Tarantino are all in some strange way connected with each other. This is something that the filmmaker has talked about in the past. I've seen a few infographics and explanations of how this Tarantino universe connects with each other, but today I have a great video breakdown to share with you. It's was released as a part of Luís Azevedo's Beyond the Frame series and this is what the creator had to say about it:

Ok, here it is. Quentin Tarantino confirmed that his movies exist in two different universes: The Realer than Real World Universe and the Movie Universe (they're separated in the credits of the video). Since they inhabit the same world, I tried to acquaint, or reacquaint them (see Vegas Brothers) with each other.
To do that I made tons of different connections, with two biggest threads: phone calls and the radio. Between inter-universal references I had fun with the editing and tried to highlight Tarantino's style.
I was torn between using all the references and visually point them out or even narrate them, or making narrative and let you find the references within Tarantino's universes. They're almost all there but a few I just couldn't fit in.

It's pretty fascinatingly done and I hope you get a kick out of it!

Sideshow Collectibles has pulled back the curtain on their new premium format figures for Rocket Raccoon and Groot from Marvel Comic's Guardians of the Galaxy. These are two of the most lovable badass characters in the Marvel universe and I love how they are portrayed in these figure designs. Groot especially looks kind of terrifying. These are two guys that you definitely don't want to mess with.

I may just be a small, furry animal with a human heart.
There isn't much that were going to say that could make a heavy weapon wielding, smart mouthed, master tactician who just so happens to be a genetically modified and altered raccoon any cooler than he is already is. So, without further ado, Sideshow presents our Rocket Raccoon Premium Format Figure.
Normally we say something like, Standing at an impressive such and such inches tall. However, Rocket is a raccoon. The piece stands an understandable 10 inches tall and is the perfect companion to the Groot Premium Format Figure. He's the only one that understands the big guy, anyway. No really.
Perfectly capturing his leering charge and overly accessorized weaponry, the Rocket Raccoon Premium Format Figure should not only become a part of your Guardians of the Galaxy collection but he could lead them.

I am Groot.
It wasn't easy to capture a Flora colossus. Honestly, there aren't that many of them floating around the galaxy and, ironically, they're not fans of holding still long enough to capture their likenesses. Regardless, Sideshow is pleased to announce the germination and growth of our own Groot Premium Format Figure.
Styled out of polyresin instead of wood, the larynx of this particular Guardian of the Galaxy is a bit more stiff than normal, so you can expect even less conversation out of him.
Our Groot Premium Format Figure stands at a massive 22.5 inches tall with a width of 20 inches causing this unflappable companion of Rocket Raccoon to leave a staggering impression amongst the rest of your collection.
The Sideshow Exclusive variation features an outstretched and attacking arm with tendrils reaching out to grasp an opponent foolish enough to test his mettle against the massive trunk and intellect of Groot.

Sony Pictures has released the first two trailers for their upcoming sci-fi space exploration thriller Life. The movie brings together Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal as they play a couple of astronauts that are part of a team that discovers life on Mars. As it turns out, this life form forces them into a situation to fight for their lives.

I love sci-fi films that are set in space and center around the exploration of the great unknown. Life looks like it has the potential to be a great movie, and I think it's awesome that that Reynolds and Gyllenhaal have teamed up for it because I'm a big fan of both of them. Here's the synopsis:

Life tells the story of the six-member crew of the International Space Station that is on the cutting edge of one of the most important discoveries in human history: the first evidence of extraterrestrial life on Mars. As the crew begins to conduct research, their methods end up having unintended consequences and the life form proves more intelligent than anyone ever expected.

The movie also has a great supporting cast that includes Rebecca Ferguson, Olga Dihovichnaya, Ariyon Bakare, and Hiroyuki SanadaLife opens on May 26th, 2017. Below you'll find a domestic trailer and an international one.

Kong: Skull Island is going to feature one of the biggest and most monstrous Kong creatures yet! I'm excited to see how the story for this film plays out, but one thing I know from what I've seen in the trailers is that it's going to be visually awesome.

Legendary Pictures has released a new Japanese trailer for the film. It's brief, but it definitely packs an exciting punch as it teases the humongous ape. After you watch it, you might want to check out the Comic-Con trailer again as a reminder of what's in store for us.

The story for the new film follows a team of explorers who venture deep inside the treacherous, primordial island to find the leader's brother and a mythical serum, confronting extraordinary creatures along the way.

The movie has a great cast that includes Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, and John GoodmanKong: Skull Island was directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, and it's set to be released on March 10th, 2017.

Tom Hardy Will Play Al Capone in Director Josh Trank’s FONZO

$

After director Josh Trank epically shit the bed with the Fantastic Four reboot, I wasn't really sure we'd ever see him make another movie again. But Addictive Pictures has hired him to direct a new film that he wrote called Fonzo, and Tom Hardy is set to play Al Capone. This is the plot summary that was released:

Once a ruthless businessman and bootlegger who ruled Chicago with an iron fist, Alfonse Capone was the most infamous and feared gangster of American lore.  At the age of 47, following nearly a decade of imprisonment, dementia rots Alfonse’s mind and his past becomes present as harrowing memories of his violent and brutal origins melt into his waking life.

This is actually a very intriguing and unique take on the life of Capone, and I have no doubt that Hardy will give an incredible performance. The guy is a crazy talented actor, the question is... can Trank actually deliver a great film? Producer Alex Walton said in a statement:

“Fonzo brings together the myth and lore of notorious American Gangster Al Capone with the undeniable talent of Tom Hardy and Josh Trank. We are thrilled to bring this film to buyers at the AFM.”

Hardy will next be seen in Christopher Nolan's WWII film Dunkirk and the upcoming FX miniseries Taboo. What do you think of the actor taking on the role of Al Capone? Do you think Trank can take his film idea and develop it into something better than Fantastic Four?

Gruesome BTS Photos from THE WALKING DEAD of Glenn and Abraham's Makeup

As a way to celebrate Halloween, I thought I'd post some graphically gruesome behind-the-scenes photos from The Walking Dead season seven premiere. The photos were posted by executive producer and special effects makeup department head Greg Nicotero, and they show us the makeup and the effects work that was done to create the look of Glenn and Abraham's brutally furious head bashing by Negan.

The makeup is done so well that it might just make your stomach churn uncomfortably. They give us a good and clean look at the kind of damage that Negan's barbwire bat, Lucille, inflicted on these characters. The Walking Dead sure does have a hell of a talented makeup and FX team! It'd be so cool to have these guys do your makeup for Halloween!

You can see all four photos below, and each one of them comes with a bit of commentary from Nicotero.

Frank Miller Explains How BATMAN Films Should be Smaller, Focusing on the Mission Not on the Toys

$

0

When it comes to telling Batman stories, comic book writer and artist Frank Miller knows his shit. This guy has written some insanely incredible Batman comics in his day. After all these years of seeing Batman bring to the big screen, have you ever wondered what his take on a Batman film would be? Well, Miller recently sat down with Variety for an interview, and they talked about how Batman: The Dark Knight Returns has influenced the films and asked where he would take the Batman movie franchise if he had a say in the matter. This is what he said:

"My dream would be to make it much smaller. To lose the toys and to focus more on the mission, and to use the city a great deal more. Because he’s got a loving relationship with the city he’s protecting. And unlike Superman his connection to crime is intimate; it has been ever since his parents were murdered. And he defeats criminals with his hands. So it would be a different take. But it will never be in my hands, because it would not be a good place to make toys from. There wouldn’t be a line of toys."

It would be great to see Miller bring this vision of his to life in some kind of proof-of-concept short film. I would love to see his take on the character brought to life. It's kind of a shame that we'll never really seen his vision happen because Warner Bros. loves their toys too much.

Miller previously worked with Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky on a Batman project, and it seems like that was the closest we've ever come to seeing Miller's vision. Miller explained that they had a script for it and said:

"That screenplay was based on my book Batman: Year One, and yeah it was much more down to earth. In it a fair amount of time is spent before he became Batman, and when he went out and fought crime he really screwed it up a bunch of times before he got it right. So it was 90-minute origins story."

Aronofsky is such a talented director that it's a shame that he never got to make this Batman movie. Miller previously explained that it was way too dark and that Warner Bros. passed on it because it wasn't something the kiddies would enjoy. You can see some concept art that was done for the film here. Miller was eventually asked if he saw Batman v Superman, and he replied:

"I’ll just say: ‘Thanks.’ What can I say? — he laughs — no, actually I’ll withdraw that; I’ll say: ‘You’re welcome!’

Ben Affleck and Geoff Johns are currently writing the next Batman solo film, which is looking to release sometime in 2018. What do you all think about Miller's version of a Batman movie? Would you watch it?

I love the art of magic! I've enjoyed seeing crazy fun magic tricks performed ever since I was a kid, and as an adult, seeing magic just brings that kid out in me again. I just love that feeling of there being real magic in the world.

David Blaine has been an incredibly fun magician to watch over the years, and he has a new special coming out called David Blaine: Beyond Magic. Today we have a trailer for it that includes a ton of big time actors such as Emma Stone, Johnny Depp, Margot Robbie, Arnold Schwarzenegger, John Travolta, and Patrick Stewart having their minds blown by the talented magician.

I have absolutely no idea how Blaine pulls off the magic tricks that he does, and I'd like to keep it that way. The mystery of magic is what makes it so damn cool and unbelievable! I do hope that his latest TV special doesn't just rehash all of his old tricks. I'd like to see some new tricks that I've never seen him do before.

David Blaine: Beyond Magic will premiere on November 15th, 2016 at 10:00 pm on ABC.

Marvel Confirms That Karen Page and Misty Knight will Appear in THE DEFENDERS

Marvel has officially announced that Deborah Ann Woll and Simone Missick will reprise their roles as Karen Page and Misty Knight in Netflix's upcoming The Defenders. These are both awesome characters, and it's great that they will continue to be developed further in The Defenders

They will join the previously confirmed cast of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Finn Jones as Danny Rand, and Sigourney Weaver as an unidentified villain. I'm pretty sure that Jon Bernthal’s Punisher will return for the series as well, but that has yet to be confirmed.

It was recently announced that Jessica Jones director S.J. Clarkson will be directing the first two episodes of The Defenders, and it was confirmed that there will be eight episodes in the series.

The Defenders is set to premiere sometime in 2017, and it's going to be a ton of fun seeing all of these characters come together to fight Weaver. To catch up on all of the news about the series, click here

Haley Joel Osment Joins Amazon Series THE BOOK OF STRANGE NEW THINGS

Haley Joel Osment has been cast in the upcoming Amazon series The Book of Strange New Things according to THR. The series is based on the hit novel of the same name by Michael Faber. Osment will join Richard Madden, who will play the series lead. Here's a description for the book...

Peter Leigh, an English pastor decides to leave his wife Beatrice in order to be a missionary. It is gradually revealed that rather than being a missionary on a different country he has been hired by a private American corporation called USIC to preach to the native population of a distant planet called Oasis. Peter expects to find hostility when meeting the native population but finds instead that they are extremely welcoming, already speak English very well and are passionate devotees of the Christian faith, referring to themselves as Jesus Lover One, Two, etc.

Well, that's not at all what I was expecting! You read a title like The Book of Strange New Things, and think it's going to be something out of the same realm as Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, not a sci-fi show with a Christian twist. At least it's original!

Osment will play a colony worker who used to grow lots of marijuana but has since found religion. No date has been set for the series.
