GeeksAreSexy pointed out this compilation video from Robot Chicken that celebrates some of the show's best sketches involving the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. I hadn't seen a lot of these before, so I figured with the new movie coming up and its new trailer still fresh in your minds, now's as good a time as any to share this.

If you're like me, you spent the first few seconds wondering what the heck Yogi Bear has to do with the Power Rangers, but stick with it and all becomes clear very soon. Take a look and let us know what you think:

Can't wait for The Flash tonight? You're not alone! I'm more than a little excited for this upcoming episode because Harrison Wells is back in the fold! This video gives you a little more insight as Todd Helbing gives you a breakdown of what to expect for tonight!

Looks like Barry messed up more than just his Earth's timeline when he went back. I wonder how much longer the Flashpoint saga will go on? I know they said it wouldn't go through the whole season.

THE TOWN and 13 HOURS Writer Chuck Hogan Adapting CROSSFIRE Game Into Movie

Chuck Hogan is the author of Prince of Thieves, the novel on which Ben Affleck's crime thriller The Town was based, and he's also known for co-creating the FX series The Strain and writing the screenplay for Michael Bay's 13 Hours. Now Deadline says he has a new gig in the works: the writer is penning the screenplay for a film adaptation of the game Crossfire. I know what you're thinking, but let me stop you right there before you get too excited — no, it isn't an adaptation of this game:

Instead, it's an adaptation of this one:

I've never played the game (or even heard of it, to be completely frank), but apparently it's a massive worldwide success. It came out in 2007, and it has 650 million users in over 80 countries. Fast & Furious producer Neal Moritz is producing the film version, but there's no timetable in place yet for filming or a director involved. Maybe that means they're actually going to let Hogan try to craft a decent script before they go gung-ho into production. Wouldn't that be a nice change of pace for Hollywood?

Looking for a good idea for carving your jack o'lantern for Halloween this year? Artist Anthony Herrera sent us a link to some pumpkin carving templates he created that are all inspired by the characters of the Star Wars universe.

Some are more accurate than others, but regardless, there are some really solid ideas in here that are almost guaranteed to give you the geekiest pumpkin on the block. Herrera has made all of these design templates free to download at his website, which you can visit right here.

Which one is your favorite? I'm partial to the First Order Stormtrooper, myself.

Paul Feig's GHOSTBUSTERS Gets The Honest Trailer Treatment

Paul Feig's Ghostbusters (which was sneakily retitled Ghostbusters: Answer The Call just before its official release) became one of the most heavily-discussed movies of the year because of a perfect storm of fans hating reboot culture and the studio gender-swapping the cast, and despite all the hatred, I thought it was pretty funny. Sure, there are some big duds in there that don't work at all, and comedy is obviously subjective, but I was surprised at the high ratio of jokes that worked really well for me (that bit about "Mike Hat" still makes me laugh just thinking about it).

In any case, ScreenJunkies has given the movie the Honest Trailer treatment. Let us know what you think (of the Honest Trailer and — sure, why not — the movie itself) below.

New LEGION TV Spot: "They're Coming and They're Going to Kill You"

FX has released a new TV spot for Legion, the new X-Men-adjacent series hailing from Fargo showrunner Noah Hawley. We've seen almost all of this footage before in the series' first full trailer, but there's a new bit with Aubrey Plaza's character giving Dan Stevens' David an ominous warning: "They're coming and they're going to kill you."

Man, Stevens really looks like he's going for it here. His character's twitchy, nervous personality couldn't be further from his charming, sociopathic character in Adam Wingard's The Guest (though they're both coincidentally named David). I haven't seen Downton Abbey, but I have to assume he plays an equally different character there, and I'm sure his version of the Beast (not the one from X-Men) will be something to behold when Disney's new Beauty and the Beast hits theaters next year. In the meantime, Legion arrives on FX in February of 2017.

Tom Cruise Stacks Bodies in Gallery1988's JACK REACHER: NEVER GO BACK Posters

Later this week, I'll publish an interview I conducted with Jack Reacher: Never Go Back co-writer/director Ed Zwick, but in the meantime, take a look at these cool new posters for the movie that debuted over at Birth.Movies.Death. They hail from Los Angeles's Gallery1988, but there's no artist information listed and I don't know the pop culture art scene quite well enough to be able to take an educated guess at who might be responsible for these.

The first one is perhaps more indicative of the rough-and-tumble, hand-to-hand combat of this franchise, but I think the second one — a riff on Edward Hopper's classic Nighthawks — is the better piece. Let us know what you think below.

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back hits theaters this Friday.

CAPTAIN AMERICA Director Joe Johnston to Direct Sci-Fi Film STARFELL in China

Joe Johnston, the director behind films such as The Rocketeer, October Sky, and Captain America: The First Avenger, is set to helm a $100 million sci-fi film in China called Starfall.

Deadline simply describes the film as "an actioner that takes place on a space station." It's a pretty vague plot description because we have no idea what events will take place on that space station. We know it will be a big spectacle film, though.

Lorenzo Di Bonaventura (Transformers) is producing the film, and the script is being written by David Coggeshall, who has worked on the MTV series Scream. The film will be shot at Wanda’s Qingdao Studios, which is a new China studio that boasts a 56,000-square-foot green screen stage.

I've always liked Johnston's films, and it's great to see him get the opportunity to make another big movie. I can't wait to learn more about it and see how this turns out!

Seven Fantastically Magical HARRY POTTER Posters Created by Olly Moss

I've got a beautiful series of Harry Potter poster art hear from artist Olly Moss that represents each of the seven novels that make up J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter saga. Moss is an incredibly talented artist, and we've posted a lot of his work over the years, which you can see here. He's probably best known for his Star Wars posters. This latest Harry Potter collection is fantastic. Each one uses the same background with the Hogwarts Castle but has its own unique flare based on the different stories.

They're currently available on his website for purchase until October 25th. Each print costs $50, or you can buy the entire set of seven for $275, which is worth it if you're a Moss and Potter fan. With Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them coming out soon, which will be followed by four other movies, the Wizarding World is about to get very popular again.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Set to Star in the Sci-Fi Thriller SOVEREIGN

joseph-gordon-levitt-set-to-star-in-the-sci-fi-thriller-sovereign

In my opinion, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is one of the most talented young actors working in Hollywood right now. He's a very likable guy who tends to make great films. His next film project is a sci-fi thriller called Sovereign.

According to THR, the actor will take on the role of a man "who travels up to a space station to find his estranged wife and the crew of the station, all of whom have gone missing." We don't really have much more information than that.

The movie is being produced by Shawn Levy (Stranger Things), and it will be directed by Marc Munden, who has helmed several TV series such as Black Sails, Utopia, and Quantico. The script for the film comes from Jack Thorne, the playwright behind the recently released Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Sovereign sounds like it could turn out to be a great film project. It will be fun to see Gordon-Levitt take on another sci-fi project. The last one he did was Rian Johnson's Looper. The most recent film the actor starred in was Oliver Stone's Snowden, which was a solid film that's worth checking out if you haven't already.

Fans seem to be pretty pumped up about Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. It actually looks like it could be a decent conclusion to the long-running franchise. We've got a new international trailer for you to watch today, and it's got a lot of new adrenaline-fueled action-packed footage that's definitely worth checking out. I think this is a much better trailer than the one that was released at NYCC earlier this month.

Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, humanity is on its last legs after Alice is betrayed by Wesker in Washington D.C. As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began – Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse. In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. Between losing her superhuman abilities and Umbrella’s impending attack, this will be Alice’s most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which is on the brink of oblivion.

Vin Diesel Says FAST 8 Could Get Some Oscar Love

Vin Diesel is currently out promoting his new film Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, and while talking to ET he managed to squeeze in a little promotional buzz for his next film, Fast 8. According to the actor, he thinks its director F. Gary Gray could get some Oscar attention because of what he brings to the film. The actor explains:

"For as bizarre as that might be, he's definitely going to get his comeuppance. As crazy as that might sound, as he really should have been acknowledged for Straight Outta Compton, I think he went into making this movie with a little bit of a chip on his shoulder, going 'Oh, really? Ok. Now I'm going to take the biggest saga in the world, and I'm about to throw Oscars at you. Wait till you see what he does!"

That's pretty high praise. Have you ever thought that the Fast and Furious franchise could actually get some Oscar attention? Not me!? As much as I've enjoyed these films, they've never been Oscar-caliber material, but maybe that could all change with Gray at the helm. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Diesel went on to talk a little bit about the tone of the film and his character, saying:

"Fast 8 is different. It's very dark. My character is conflicted in a way that is really going to shock you. He's coming off of a lot of emotion from 7 and the loss that 7 represents."

That sounds pretty intense, and I'm looking forward to seeing what this creative team has come up with for the film. We'll get our first real look at the movie when the first trailer is released on December 11th. In regards to that, Diesel said:

"It's going to hit you like a ton of bricks. Everything is going to make sense."

Fast 8 races into theaters on April 14th, 2017. That will be followed by parts nine and ten scheduled for April 19th, 2019 and April 2nd, 2021.

Cool Black and White Teaser Poster For GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2

cool-black-and-white-teaser-poster-for-guardians-of-the-galaxy-vol-2

Director James Gunn has released the first teaser poster for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and it features a cool hardcore black and white look at Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Karen Gillan as Nebula, and Michael Rooker as Yondu (with Rocket and a tiny Baby Groot in there as well).

The movie is set two months after the events of the first film, and it introduces Star-Lord's father, Ego the Living Planet (played by Kurt Russell), who will be a big part of the story. We don't really have any concrete plot details, but it's going to focus heavily on developing the characters further.

The movie also stars Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Elizabeth Debicki, and Chris Sullivan.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be released on May 5, 2017, and I'm hoping that we get to see a trailer for it when Doctor Strange is released.

HBO Passes on Darren Aronofsky's MADDADDAM Series, But We May Still See It Elsewhere

In June of 2014, we learned that director Darren Aronofsky was working on a TV adaptation of Margaret Atwood's MaddAddam trilogy for HBO. It's been crickets since then, but Vulture has confirmed with the network that they are no longer developing the series. But that doesn't mean the project is completely dead.

At the New York Film Festival last week, Aronofsky told Vulture that the show "is all written. We are working hard on it, and trying to figure it out. We are still in play." That's great news for those who were hoping to see this story on the small screen. Hopefully someone with deep pockets will be able to pick this up and bring it to life.

Aronofsky also had good things to say about writer Eliza Clark, a Yale graduate and playwright who happens to be Joss Whedon's sister-in-law:

"We just went with the best writer. Her work is amazing. It was interesting to see how her brain worked and processed to bring it all into a cohesive universe. Figuring out how to focus it into a ten-episode series was really challenging. It is such a massive, amazing piece, and we are just trying to find the right home."

Here's hoping they can make this happen soon. MaddAddam is based on Atwood's "speculative fiction" trilogy that includes Oryx and Crake (2003), Year Of The Flood (2009), and MaddAddam (2013), and is set "in the mid-21st century in a world where corporations have taken over for governments and the genetic modification of organisms is perversely ubiquitous. It centers on the events before and after a Waterless Flood that wipes out almost all of the world’s population and follows an extensive cast of characters, including those responsible for the apocalypse and those struggling to survive it." You can read more about each book here.
