Hulu has picked up Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s new sci-fi comedy series Future Man. The series stars Josh Hutchenson (The Hunger Games), and it will consist of 13 half-hour episodes.

Hutcherson, who is also a producer on the series, plays a character named Josh Futterman, “a janitor by day/gamer by night who is recruited by mysterious visitors to travel through time in order to prevent the extinction of humanity.” You can see the first image of Hutcherson above.

The pilot episode for the series was directed by Rogen and Goldberg from a script by Ariel Shaffir and Kyle Hunter. Future Man will premiere on the streaming service in 2017. The series also stars Eliza Coupe, Derek Wilson, Ed Begley Jr. and Glenne Headly.

I love what Rogen and Goldberg did with Preacher, and this new series sounds like it could be a lot of fun!

BIG HERO 6 Actor Made a Badass Fight Scene to Convince Ben Affleck to Cast Him as Robin

Big Hero 6 actor Ryan Potter wants to play the Tim Drake version of Robin in Ben Affleck’s upcoming solo Batman film. He wants the part so badly that he made a short action film showing off his martial arts fighting skills. I’ve gotta say… it’s pretty impressive, and if Robin is going to be included in the movie, Potter seems like he would be a fun choice!

After the fight sequence plays out, Potter looks at the camera and asks Affleck to consider him for the role of Robin. He says:

“Hey Ben, like Tim said, Batman needs a Robin.”

In a previous interview with 411Mania, Potter talked about his desire to play Robin:

“That would be super cool to be able to play that. To see a different version- see an Asian-American Robin. Why not?. Or maybe in a couple of years see a Nighthawk. But I don’t know. There really aren’t a lot of real Asian superheroes.”

I think it’d be cool for Potter to take on the role of Robin. Watch the video for yourself and let us know what you think!

JURASSIC WORLD Trilogy Confirmed by Sequel Director Juan Antonio Bayona

Earlier this year Universal Pictures chairman Donna Langley said that filmmakers Steven Spielberg and Colin Trevorrow were developing Jurassic World as a trilogy and the studio didn't even know it. The upcoming sequel has already been greenlit, and Juan Antonio Bayona is set to direct it. During an interview with Irm Online, Bayona confirmed that there is a trilogy in the works and also talked a little bit about what we can expect from the sequel that he's currently working on.

“I think they love ‘The Impossible’ and ‘The Orphanage’—especially Colin (Trevorrow) loved those movies. It’s very interesting. The whole ‘Jurassic World’ is a trilogy that Colin Trevorrow has envisioned. We’re writing the second chapter, and it’s very interesting where he’s leading the story. I grew up watching Steven Spielberg movies and I love those movies and the legacy, so it’s a question of being truthful to the legacy and at the same time, bringing new stuff that people will appreciate. We are still six months ahead of shooting, and so far, so good. It’s very exciting right now.”

I really enjoyed Jurassic World, and it's it great to hear that we will be getting at least two more films before the full story is complete. The director went on to tease what we can expect from the film and its tone:

“It’s a very unique story, too. It’s very connected to some of the stuff we’ve worked on before, especially The Orphanage. It’s a drama with horror or horror with drama—it’s that kind of meeting that’s sometimes difficult to label, but it’s very interesting. He has an amazing cast and what I’ve seen so far is great. They just finished shooting ten days ago.”

There's no information on what story the sequel will tell yet, but I'm sure Spielberg, Trevorrow, and Bayona have come up with something great and I can't wait to see it! One thing we know for sure is that it will involve dinosaurs, stupid humans, and a whole hell of a lot of things going wrong. The Jurassic World sequel is set to be released on June 22nd, 2018.

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Set Video Features Spidey Dancing to Daft Punk

Last week the Russo Bros. released the first set photo from Avengers: Infinity War featuring Josh Brolin rehearsing as Thanos. Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts decided to hit the Avengers director back with a set video of his own featuring Tom Holland's Spider-Man dancing to Daft Punk. It came with the note, "Yeah but @therussobrothers can Thanos do THIS?"

The video shows a digital version of Spider-Man dancing, and then we get to see Holland actually pulling off the dance moves in his motion capture suit. One thing is for sure, this Spider-Man will be a much better dancer than Tobey McGuire in Spider-Man 3. It's a pretty fun video, and I hope you get a kick out of it!

Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters July 7th, 2017.

Story Details for BLACK MIRROR Season 3 Episodes Revealed

For those of you who are fans of the Black Mirror series, we’ve got titles and story details on the six new episodes being released. There are no spoilers here, just a basic plot of each episode, and it looks like we’re in for another very interesting season.

Black Mirror is a pretty messed up series, which is what makes it so fascinating. You never really know what to expect until you actually watch the episode. EW recently interviewed series creator Charlie Brooker, and he offered them plenty of information. You can find the breakdown of each episode that they offer below:

Nosedive

We love this premise: An insecure office worker (Bryce Dallas Howard) lives in a world in which everyone obsessively ranks and rates every tiny social interaction. She thinks she finally may have found a way to rank alongside her friend (Alice Eve), who’s one of society’s elites. At first glance, this sounds like a classic Black Mirror setup — an existing tech element taken to a horrifying new extreme. But Brooker says it’s one of the most unusual episodes he’s done. “Each episode this season is a different genre; this one is a social satire,” Brooker says. “It’s got a creepy serenity to it and won’t be what people expect.”

San Junipero

How could you make Black Mirror episode set in the past when the show is all about the future? That was the mental puzzle that prompted Booker to write this 1980s-set tale, where Mackenzie Davis and Gugu Mbatha-Raw play recent arrivals to a beach town “synonymous with sun, surf, and sex.” “It’s kind of an ‘80s coming-of-age drama with a Black Mirror undertow,” he says. “Also, when Netflix picked us up, people were going, ‘Oh that means [the show is] going to be Americanized.’ I thought it would be a funny to f–k with those people by literally writing an episode set in California.”

Shut Up and Dance

There have been a couple previous tales set in present day without any sci-fi elements (like the notorious pig sex episode “The National Anthem”). This is one of those, but Brooker adds it’s the “most grounded” of the three. Here a withdrawn 19-year-old (Alex Lawther) stumbles headlong into an online trap and is quickly forced into an uneasy alliance with shifty man (Jerome Flynn) who are both at the mercy of persons unknown. “A kitchen sink nightmarish thriller,” he says.

Men Against Fire

A military story set in a post-war future. A rookie soldier (Malachi Kirby) is posted overseas, protecting frightened villagers from an infestation of vicious feral mutants alongside fellow soldier Raiman (Madeline Brewer). They’re hoping some new technological advantage will save them. “It stemmed slightly from thinking about drone attacks and how technology is alternating the face of warfare, but it’s not about drones,” Brooker says. “It’s a horror thriller, almost like The Walking Dead.”

Playtest

Brooker was formerly a video game journalist and here he revisits that world: A thrill-seeking globetrotter (Wyatt Russell) visits Britain, hooks up with a woman (Hannah John-Kamen) and tests the latest in video game technology – “a device as mind-bendingly sophisticated as it is terrifying.” Directed by Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane), Brooker notes, “Dan is fantastic at creating suspenseful and tense mood; this is our Evil Dead 2.”

Hated in the Nation

The show’s first-ever 90-minute episode; a crime drama inspired by Scandi-Noir thrillers like The Killing and Borgen. A police detective (Kelly McDonald) and her geeky young sidekick investigate a string of grisly murders with a sinister link to social media. “It deals with online rage,” teases Brooker. “It starts out like a stylish standard police procedural, then takes a bizarre turn.” Well, that we expected.

There’s lots of great stuff here, and I can’t wait to see it! Black Mirror Season 3 premieres on Netflix October 21st.

Mr. Sinister Confirmed to Appear in WOLVERINE 3 and Film Footage Is Coming Soon

If you saw X-Men: Apocalypse, I'm sure you all remember the post-credits scene that teased the appearance of Mister Sinister in a future X-Men film. Director Bryan Singer has confirmed that that film is Wolverine 3. The confirmation was found by CinemaBlend in the commentary that came with the recent digital release of X-Men: Apocalypse.

In that scene, we see a man wearing glasses taking the blood of Weapon X, a.k.a. Wolverine, from the Alkali Lake facility. The man puts the blood in a briefcase with the name Essex Corp. on it. Essex Corp. is the company owned by Nathaniel Essex, a.k.a. Mister Sinister. It has also been rumored that X-23 could also appear in Wolverine 3, which would fit in with Mr. Sinister's involvement.

Mr. Sinister is one of the most infamous supervillains in the X-Men universe. He is a former scientist who, after an alteration by Apocalypse, ends up possessing "enhanced durability and an extended lifespan. Over the years, Sinister has used the genetic material of other mutants to grant himself a vast array of powers including telepathy, telekinesis, superhuman strength, the ability to project concussive energy from his hands, and total control of his body at the molecular level."

There's no confirmation of who will be playing Mister Sinister in the film, but there's a good chance that it will be Richard E. Grant, whose role has previously been described as being a "Mad scientist."

Director James Mangold also recently tweeted that we will get to see some of the first footage from Wolverine 3 soon. When asked about it by a fan, Mangold said:

"Working on it every day in edit room, Vince. You'll hear and see things very soon. Glad you're pumped & I hope we surprise you."

I have no idea how long "very soon" could be, but it's better than hearing, "It'll be awhile." Wolverine 3 is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on March 3rd, 2017.

DARKWING DUCK Was Set in a Different Duckiverse than DUCKTALES, Creator Discusses Inspiration

I absolutely loved Darkwing Duck when I was growing up! That was a cartoon that my brothers and I used to watch all the time. It premiered in 1991 and ran for three seasons before it was cancelled, before the TV networks got cheap and replaced it with crappy TV.

The classic Disney series featured the voice of Jim Cummings as the dangerous hero, Christine Cavanaugh as his daughter Gosalynm and Terry McGovern as his sidekick Launchpad. The series is described as combining “the kitchiness of Silver Age comics and the gags of the Golden Age of Warner Bros. animation.”

During a recent interview with THR, Darkwing Duck creator Tad Stones talked about his show and offered some interesting insight into how it came to be and why they did some of the things they did with it.

"I told the guys, every episode you have to do at least one catch phrase, and every episode, Darkwing has to say the words, 'Let's get dangerous.’ If you are going to have a slogan you have to commit to it as a slogan."

One of the more interesting things is that even though the series was inspired by DuckTales and features some shared characters from that series, Stones says that Darkwing Duck is not a DuckTales spinoff and that it does not take place in the same universe, which kinda blows my mind!

Darkwing Duck was originally supposed to be a series that focused around Launchpad as a secret agent named Double-O Duck. This version of the character was featured in an episode of DuckTales, and that’s the character Disney executive Jefferey Katzenberg wanted. Stones pitched the series with a James Bond-style theme, but he said it “lacked heart” and Katzenberg rejected it. He was then asked to try again, and it was on his second attempt that he came up with Darkwing Duck. When talking about his inspiration behind it he said:

"It was my half remembered covers of The Flash where the Flash had a beard or was super fat or had a giant head because he had super evolved. It was all that in my brain saying, 'Ok here's my story.”

Even though Launchpad was in DuckTales, Stones explained that in Darkwing Duck he was a much more competent pilot than in DuckTales, which makes him a different version of the character.

"Because Launchpad appeared in DuckTales and we used Roboduck as the Superman character, the hero who gets all the glory as opposed to Darkwing, fans try to connect the two realities. They are two different universes in my book. We work in the alternate Duckiverse.”

I don’t care that the series took place in a different Duckiverse, it still all worked out awesomely! One of the big things that he wanted to make sure the series had was a lot of heart, and he did that with the wonderful relationship between Barking and his daughter.

"I get told at conventions how important that relationship was to people. I’ve I had people near tears saying they had a rough family life and the father-daughter energy of that show was super important to them."

One thing he surprisingly made sure the show didn’t have was continuity! They purposely ignored it, which would be such a huge frustration for today’s audience, but that was a big part of the charm of Darkwing Duck. Stones says:

"It drives fans crazy, but I was not a huge fan of continuity. I grew up with Silver Age continuity with the comics. Yeah, I know Lois Lane doesn't know Clark Kent is Superman. She suspects something. Jimmy Olsen's his pal. He went to high school with Lana Lang. The basics everybody knew. But there was really no arc or change. Every time you picked up a comic, you knew where you were starting."

As a fan who grew up on this show, it’s really cool to learn some of the inspiration behind it and what Stones’ vision for it was. There was a method to the madness of the show! To read a little bit more about what he had to say about the series click here.

Updated with the first official image of Robbie Reyes as Ghost Rider which you can see above thanks to Yahoo!

"They say when the Rider burns you, he burns your soul."

ABC has released a high-octane promo spot for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and it puts the spotlight on Robbie Reyes, a.k.a. Ghost Rider (Gabriel Luna), and his Hell Charger, which we get to see race into action! I've gotta say... it's a pretty badass little tease. Here's the synopsis for the upcoming season:

In light of the Sokovia Accords, and with Hydra obliterated, S.H.I.E.L.D. has been legitimized again and no longer needs to operate in the shadows. Since the world presumes that Coulson is dead, the organization needed a new Director to be the face of the organization. Coulson finds himself back in the role as an agent and teamed with Mack, and together they are tasked with tracking down and confirming the presence of Enhanced people, aka Inhumans. They have been trying to track down and capture Daisy, aka Quake, who has gone rogue in an attempt to atone for sins from the past. But with the world believing that Daisy is a dangerous outlaw who has taken down banks and bridges, the new Director has no qualms about taking her down for good. Agent May is tasked with training specialist strike teams, and Fitz and Simmons have taken a big step forward in their relationship. But with Simmons’ new promotion as Special Advisor to the Director in Science and Technology, Fitz, as well as her former team members, finds it hard to confide in or trust her since she’s now the Director’s confidant.

Last week it was revealed that in the second episode of season four "Daisy sets out to battle Ghost Rider, but at a terrible cost." That will make a confrontation that I'm interested in seeing.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.

SHIN GODZILLA Gets an Intense U.S. Trailer

$

We’ve already seen a handful of trailers for Toho’s Shin Godzilla a.k.a. Godzilla: Resurgence, but today we have the first U.S. trailer from FUNimation. As a fan of the original Godzilla films, I'm overly excited about this movie. I’m more excited for it than I was for Legendary Pictures' 2014 film. This is a movie I can’t wait to see in a room full of other hardcore Godzilla fans.

Make way for the ultimate homage to one of the most enduring legends of the big screen—Godzilla! The King of the Monsters is back in Tokyo for a city-crushing crusade that speaks to the very roots of the world-renowned franchise.
It’s a peaceful day in Japan when a strange fountain of water erupts in the bay, causing panic to spread among government officials. At first, they suspect only volcanic activity, but one young executive dares to wonder if it may be something different… something alive. His worst nightmare comes to life when a massive, gilled monster emerges from the deep and begins tearing through the city, leaving nothing but destruction in its wake. As the government scrambles to save the citizens, a rag-tag team of volunteers cuts through a web of red tape to uncover the monster’s weakness and its mysterious ties to a foreign superpower. But time is not on their side—the greatest catastrophe to ever befall the world is about to evolve right before their very eyes.

Shin Godzilla is getting a limited theatrical release here from October 11th to the 18th. Check out the new trailer below. Make sure to click here if you want to watch the previously-released trailers that feature a lot more cool footage from the film. This U.S. trailer pretty much just sets the tone of the film.

Here's That Deleted Mall Scene From X-MEN: APOCALYPSE

Right before Quicksilver's show-stopping slow-motion X-Mansion sequence in X-Men: Apocalypse, Scott Summers, Jean Grey, and Jubilee take Nightcrawler to the mall for the first time. This scene got a lot of attention online because there were rumors that Taylor Swift might be making a cameo as Dazzler; that never happened, and it turns out that nearly the entire scene was left on the cutting room floor.

Now we finally get a chance to see what that mall scene looked like. Xmenladies on Tumblr has posted the video of the scene, and while it definitely would have been a welcome, lighthearted bright spot in the middle of an otherwise-dreadfully self-serious movie, it's not a great enough scene that it would have saved the entire rest of the film from its flaws. It's just enough to register as a fun little moment, and that's just about it. But in a comic book movie lacking in fun moments, it still would have been nice to see this in context. Take a look and let us know what you think:

Chris Pratt Wants a Star-Lord/Punisher Team-Up in The Marvel Films

Chris Pratt wants to see Star-Lord and The Punisher team up in a future Marvel film. The tidbit comes from We Got This Covered, who interviewed the actor at an event for The Magnificent Seven. You'll see in the video that Pratt is a little nervous to say anything as "he doesn't want to get in trouble with Marvel," which I'm sure is a nightmare for any actor who makes that mistake!

Eventually, he states he would like to see Castle and Peter Quill together because he grew up liking The Punisher as a kid. See the full statement in the video below.

Did You Catch This Ridiculously Obscure Reference in BATMAN V SUPERMAN?

$

There are plenty of Easter Eggs and references to the DC Universe (and beyond) in Zack Snyder's controversial Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but there's one shout-out so obscure it took fans until now to notice it.

ComicBookMovie points us to the tweet that tracked it down:

A hole in the glass shaped like the Canadian province where Superman's co-founder was born? There's no way that's on purpose, right? Turns out, set photographer Clay Enos says otherwise:

Wow. That's some next-level nerd sh*t right there. What's next, combing through destruction patterns in the cityscape that turns out to resemble Jerry Siegel's hairline? The possibilities seem endless.

Daniel Radcliffe On The Fence About Whether He Would Ever Return as Harry Potter

$

Daniel Radcliffe refuses to rule out a return as Harry Potter, but he's also afraid to commit. THR quotes the actor in a recent interview:

"I’m never going to close the door; that would be a stupid thing to do, but I think I’ll be happy enough and secure enough to let someone else play it."

“At the moment it’s not even a concern because I’m too young to play the character, but even in 10 years' time I would still feel strange about going back to it."

Radcliffe is referring to Harry Potter And The Cursed Child, which takes place far into Harry's adulthood as a father.

If people are thinking it's because Radcliffe is afraid of being typecast, it's far from it. Radcliffe goes further to say he's afraid of souring what is already a beloved series:

“There’s a part of me that’s like, some things are better left untouched. If we went back to Potter, there’s a chance we’d make what Star Wars: The Force Awakens was to the original Star Wars, but there’s also the chance that we’d make Phantom Menace.”

It's also a huge commitment to be a part of such a large franchise! Radcliffe spent most of his adolescence and teen years on set for the franchise. That's a lot of time for an actor to spend on one role, so if he didn't want to give away that much time when his career is just starting to bring in different roles, I can't blame him at all!

That doesn't mean I don't want to see him play Harry Potter again, however — I think we all want that.

Greg Berlanti "Excited" For Possible Writers For FLASH/SUPERGIRL Musical Crossover

$

About a month ago, we reported a rumor that Joss Whedon could be directing the Flash/Supergirl musical crossover. I'm not trying to propel that rumor any further, but I will say a recent interview with Greg Berlanti (via Coming Soon) makes me really curious as to who they ARE eyeing for the spot! Berlanti gave an update in the quote below:

“We just finished writing the fall crossovers and now we’re trying to figure out how to produce them. That’s probably the most challenging thing we do all year. And now we’re doing it across three shows! But next week we’ll have to start talking about clearing music. I have a few ideas for tone and style in my head but we’re just starting to talk about what that can be. I do want to try and get an original piece of music written. As we make a deal on that we’ll probably make some announcements on the original songs...(we) did speak to someone we’re really excited about. There are some writers I’m incredibly excited to work with.”

Keep in mind he said "writers," so that may not necessarily mean they are talking with someone to direct. I guess it would be cool if Whedon directed it, but I'm sure it could be just as good with anyone else at the helm.

Berlanti also stated that the big crossover event between all four shows will begin with The Flash, then go to Arrow, then Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl will be spiked in there somewhere. I have really high hopes for Flash and Supergirl this season, so let's hope they don't let me down and the other two can step it up this season!

Here's a video our fantasy fans can appreciate. If you were to wager who would win in a match-up between a 130 pound longbow and a steel breastplate, who do you think would win? If you don't know much about either, you'd say the breastplate, right? I did, and it turns out I was right, but everyone else in this video seems super impressed the armor didn't so much as dent from the collision!

Now I wanna see it get hit with a mace! That has to dent it, right?!

Tom Hanks Looking to Captain a Battleship in Another WWII Film, GREYHOUND

Tom Hanks’ latest film Sully hit theaters this last weekend and it’s another film that the actor shines in. The guy gives another incredible performance in the Clint Eastwood-directed movie, and now he’s ready to move on to a new project in which he will play another Captain.

The film is a WWII-set drama called Greyhound, and Hanks also wrote the script. He has attached Get Low director Aaron Schneider to direct the film. The news comes from Deadline, who offer the following details:

Now, this isn’t the prototypical hero Hanks wants to play. He’s a career officer finally given command of a Navy destroyer, who along with the enemy fights his self doubts and personal demons to prove he belongs. The title comes from the battleship.

Look, I’m a huge fan of Hanks and I’ll watch anything the guy makes. He's one hell of a talented actor and this next project of his seems like a great one for him to take on. It’ll be awhile before we get to watch it, but I’m looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Voice work is underway for Pixar's highly-anticipated Toy Story 4, so when star Tom Hanks appeared as a guest on Ellen recently, the actor took the opportunity to create a scenario in which his animated cowboy Woody "meets" the talk show host's forgetful fish Dory (from Finding Nemo and this year's Finding Dory). The results are just about as charming as you'd think from these two charismatic people chatting for a bit, and when they commiserate about how voiceover work is harder than it sounds, it gives fans a little insight into what they're actually asked to do in those recording booths.

THE TOXIC AVENGER Live-Action Remake To Be Directed By SAUSAGE PARTY Co-Director

There are huge swaths of cinema I've missed out on, and regrettably one of those swaths is the entire body of work from Troma Entertainment. Films like Class of Nuke 'Em High, Nightbeast, and Surf Nazis Must Die have been on my radar for years, but I've never made time to sit down and watch them. Now The Toxic Avenger — one of the company's most successful cult hits — is getting a live action remake, and Deadline says the film has found its director. Conrad Vernon, who co-directed this summer's raunchy animated movie Sausage Party and directed Shrek 2, Monsters vs. Aliens, and Madagascar 3, will step behind the camera for this new version.

The 1984 B-movie told the story of a bullied janitor who becomes a mutant superhero after falling into a vat of toxic waste. This take is supposedly "a more grounded and mainstream telling of the story," which seems sort of antithetical to the entire point of the original. Isn't it supposed to be weird and off-kilter instead of mainstream?

"The opportunity to re-imagine a favorite cult-classic from my high school years is an honor," Vernon said in a statement. "Toxie is an underground icon. My favorite kind."

Having not seen the original, it's tough to say whether Vernon has the sensibilities to pull this off, especially as a live-action feature directorial debut. The good part is that expectations must be incredibly low. What do you think?
