Mondo commissioned artists Tom Whalen and Matt Ferguson to create a print paying tribute to Judge Dredd the badass law enforcer of 2000 AD. There are four prints to choose from. 

The first comes from Whalen and features Dredd riding his law master Motorcycle. There is a regular and a variant edition. The other two prints come from Ferguson. One is a propaganda-style poster that says, “The Justice Department is watching you.” The other one is just a badass image of Dredd racing into action.

The prints will go on sale at the Vice Press Booth at Nice Comic Con in Bedford in the UK this weekend. Any remaining prints will go on sale online on Monday, September 5th at the Vice Press website.

Ben Affleck recently teased some test footage of Deathstroke who may or may not appear in Justice League or his upcoming Batman solo film. It was a pretty nice surprise.

With the thought of seeing Batman battle Deathstroke fresh on our minds, I thought I’d post a badass animated short that was directed by Deadpool director Tim Miller. The short was made to help promote Batman: Arkham Origins.

I’m sure we’ve posted this video before, but this reminds us of how awesome a fight between these two characters could look on the big screen in a movie.

Batman: The Animated Series is one of the greatest cartoons ever made. The stories it told were perfectly executed, and the characters it portrayed were wonderfully brought to life. I recently came across a great video by Dorkly that points out five of the most emotional aspects of the series. The video is called "5 Times Batman Made Us Feel Too Much." This series did go to some dark places at times and dealt with some heavy subject matters. You don't see these kinds of things in cartoon series anymore, which makes Batman: The Animated Series a one of a kind series that was made under a perfect storm of talent and circumstances. 

Director Olivier Megaton is set to direct a sci-fi action film called The Champion. The movie is described by THR as being in the "vein of a futuristic Spartacus, Champion tells of a man falsely imprisoned for an act of terrorism who must battle through the prison’s gladiator program to regain his freedom."

Megaton has a solid resume of action films that include Taken 2, Taken 3, Transporter 2, and Colombiana. He will be directing the film from a script being written by actor-turned-scribe Hal Ozsan (Dawson’s Creek). 

The Champion sounds like it could make for a really cool action film. Who doesn't like gladiator movies?!

Artist Mustafa Raza sent us this fun art series that he created called “Mirror War.” Each piece features a DC character facing off with a character from Marvel, and each one mirrors the other. It's a cool concept, and this is what the artist had to say about it:

“Its DC vs Marvel. I always wanted to see the two gigantic franchises collide and as much as they are different from one another they're also very similar, hence it kinda pushed me to make compositions of characters fighting each other that either have similar powers, origins or are at least visually similar (or counterparts of each other) .So here it is peeps.... your fantasy battle!!!!”

I'm actually pretty excited about seeing director Antoine Fuqua's Magnificent Seven remake. I'm a big fan of the original film, but this new movie looks like it could be a lot of fun. I've got a new poster for the film to share with you today along with seven promo videos. Each one focuses on one of the main characters from the ensemble cast that includes Sam Chisolm (Denzel Washington), Josh Farraday (Chris Pratt), Goodnight Robicheaux (Ethan Hawke), Jack Horne (Vincent D’Onofrio), Billy Rocks (Byung-Hun Lee), Vasquez (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), and Red Harvest (Martin Sensmeier). These vignettes feature footage from the film as well as each of the actors talking about their role. 

With the town of Rose Creek under the deadly control of industrialist Bartholomew Bogue (Peter Sarsgaard), the desperate townspeople employ protection from seven outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns – Sam Chisolm (Denzel Washington), Josh Farraday (Chris Pratt), Goodnight Robicheaux (Ethan Hawke), Jack Horne (Vincent D’Onofrio), Billy Rocks (Byung-Hun Lee), Vasquez (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), and Red Harvest (Martin Sensmeier). I've got a great trailer for a beautifully animated anime film for you to watch called Miss Hokusai. The film tells the story of the life and art of Japanese artist and ukiyo-e painter Katsushika Hokusai a.k.a. Tetsuzo. The story is set in 1814 Japan and is told from the point of view of his daughter, Katsushika O-Ei.

In case you're not familiar with the name, you might recognize one of his most famous pieces, which is known as "The Great Wave off Kanagawa." This looks like a stunningly made film, and I can't wait to see it. Here's the synopsis:

Set in 1814, Miss Hokusai focuses on Katsushika O-Ei (voiced by Anne Watanabe), the daughter of famed artist Tetsuzo, better known by his pen name Hokusai, as she tries to navigate the various aspects of her life. O-Ei spends the bulk of her time assisting her divorced father who cares about his art and not much else.

The movie is set to be released on October 14th. 

Even though we got to see some awesome, action-packed, funny footage from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 at San Diego Comic-Con that involved Groot helping Rocket and Yondu escape from a ravager jail cell, we still don’t really know what exactly the film is about. However, during one of Vin Diesel’s live video sessions on Facebook with James Gunn, the director revealed some interesting story elements that will play a major part in driving the story forward. It deals with the female characters in the film. 

They talk about all this stuff after Diesel gushed about how incredible the footage he just watched was. This is what Gunn had to say: 

"I really feel like we give the female characters a chance to shine in this movie because Zoe Saldana comes in and she is so wonderfully beautiful as her character. It's touching, and Karen Gillan as Nebula comes in, and she's her sister, and she's completely a much deeper character than we got in the first movie, so we get to know her." 

Diesel broke in and added:

“That character, the sisterhood that you explore in this movie is something we haven't seen in film. We definitely haven't seen it in this level of film."

Gunn continued:

"And that's one of the things that this movie is about... the first movie was really about becoming a family. This movie is about being a family. And what's harder, becoming a family or being a family? I think it's being a family. That's where you really haven't to deal with each other. And that's what this movie is about. And their sisters. They are family, whether they like it or not. And they also want to kill each other, so it adds a new twist to being a sister."

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about the family element being a major focus, but it was never explained like this before. It also sounds like Gamora and Nubula are going to be a focus, which is great! I loved these characters, and I was really hoping their relationship would be explored more. I’m happy Gunn is doing that. 

Fallout 4 is a dreary wasteland action role­-playing game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks for Microsoft Windows. But what happens when you add Bob Ross, an American Painter, who had his own TV show teaching people how to paint?

Well, let me tell you this, amazing stuff happens. Don’t believe me? Watch the video, which was created by YouTube user UpisNotJump. 

During the Star Trek: Mission New York convention this weekend, Bryan Fuller and Alex Kurtzman were featured in a video during the Star Trek: Discovery panel to talk about the new series. One of the things that Fuller focused on is why they called it Star Trek: Discovery. 

“This ship is called the Discovery for a few reasons. Not the least of which is Stanley Kubrick’s contribution to the Discovery on 2001: A Space Odyssey, NASA’s vessel the Discovery, and also the sense of discovery.” 

He went on to say that the word ‘discovery’ also continues the tradition of what Gene Roddenberry started with, showing fans a future where we “come together as a planet and seek new worlds and new alien races to explore and understand and collaborate with.” 

Fuller then teased what the series will entail and how it will help reinvent some of the things we already know about Star Trek:

“[Discovery is] an opportunity to reinvent, re-explore and re-introduce alien races you may be familiar with, but also introduce brand new aliens, planets and ships you haven’t seen before. We’ll be looking at life aboard a starship from a whole different dynamic.”

I like that they will be approaching these things from a completely different perspective. As you know, all of the previously produced Star Trek shows revolved around the captain of the ships, but Discovery will center around a crew member character and the story will be told from her point of view. Fuller expanded on that:

“There have been six series all from the captains’ perspective, and it felt like for this new iteration of Star Trek, we need to look at life on a Starfleet vessel from a new perspective.” 

This new character will add a whole new dynamic to the franchise, and Fuller said it will let them tell “richer, more complicated” stories about what life is like on the Starfleet ship.

Nicholas Meyer, the writer and director of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, who is a writer on the new series, was on the panel. Joining him was Kristen Beyer, the author overseeing a popular line of novels based on the series Star Trek: Voyager. She is also working on the series. Myer offered a piece of advice to fans saying:

“Lower your expectations… It is a symbiotic relationship and all I’m suggesting is that if you go with open minds and open hearts, you may be rewarded. Whereas if you go with a set of impossible to realize expectations, which even you cannot specifically define, then we’re bound to fail. And so I’m saying: Get loose.”

We are going to get something very different from this series, but if fans keep an open mind then it sounds like they’ll enjoy it. I can’t wait to see how this turns out. I hope it’s good!

Tom Holland and his Spider-Man: Homecoming co-star Jacob Batalon took a break from shooting the film to visit some sick kids at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Seacrest Studios. You can watch a video below of Holland hanging out with the kids. He also gave a brief interview in which he revealed that there are 20 Spider-Man costumes being used in the movie and the one he is wearing at the hospital is called a “beauty suit,” which basically means it’s picture ready.

I think it’s awesome that these actors take time out of their busy schedule to do stuff like this. They offer an experience for these kids that they will never forget.

It was a sad day when Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage ended their long-running Discovery series Mythbusters. After the series ended, the network decided they were going to do a reality TV show to help find the hosts of the rebooted show, which sounds like a terrible idea. I thought it was ridiculous of them not to bring back the awesome M7 Build Team from the original series to continue the tradition of Mythbusters. I would have much rather seen them continue the show.

Well, the build team, which consists of Grant Imahara, Tory Belleci, and Kari Byron, will be back together again in a new series of their own called The White Rabbit Project, and it’s coming to Netflix! The series is described as being “Mythbusters in Wonderland,” and a fan in attendance offered the following explanation to Nerdist:

“The subjects they tackle are those that you find when you ‘go down the rabbit hole on the internet.’ Then they showed a hilarious teaser clip of Tory and Kari sitting down for some wine, except Tory is strapped up to a bunch of wires and Kari is attempting to control his arm movements remotely. You can imagine how well it turned out.”

This already sounds like it will be a ton of fun to watch! I was hoping that this team of talent would find something to do together again, and this sounds like it’s going to be great! There’s not much more information on the series right now, but it going to be fun to see how far down the internet rabbit hole they go with these crazy experiments. 

I’m excited about this and happy that Imahara, Belleci, and Byron found a home at Netflix for their new show.

The closer we get to the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the more excited I get about seeing it. I’m sure that’s true for many of you as well. Lucasfilm continues to feed our fandom as they’ve released a series of new photos from the film.

The images include new looks at Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) in handcuffs, Director Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) looking stern as hell, and then there are the badass Death Troopers. I swear I’ve seen this image of the Death Troopers before, but it seems like everyone says it’s a new one. 

There’s nothing too revealing in these images. They are just a little something to feed our fandom. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set to hit theaters on December 16 2016.

Here’s our first look at actor Gabriel Luna as Robbie Reyes, a.k.a. Ghost Rider, in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. I’m actually kind of excited about seeing this version of Ghost Rider brought to life in the series. Executive producer Jed Whedon talked about their version of the character in an interview with EW:

“As always, we are going to put our own spin on the character. We are staying true to the comics in the places where we feel like it’s really important — we love the character’s family dynamic and the East L.A. kid in him.”

Whedon also talked about expanding on the supernatural aspect of the Marvel universe saying: 

“It started out with a guy building a suit using science, and then we met aliens that are the origin of the myths behind some of our gods, and this year Doctor Strange comes out. We’re opening it up even further to the world of things we don’t totally understand, or as Thor says, ‘Magic is science that we don’t understand.’ Well, we’re getting into some very, very fancy science.”

Now we just need to see what the character looks like when he completely flames up as Ghost Rider. When talking about the VFX for bringing Ghost Rider to life, Luna said:

“We have this great VFX for it, and I saw the mockup the other day and I thought it was completely finished. I was like, ‘Just throw that up on my TV.’ It’s a combination of CG and also some marking on my face so I can do some expressions.”

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns on Tuesday, September 20th on ABC. Here’s the synopsis for the upcoming season:

In light of the Sokovia Accords, and with Hydra obliterated, S.H.I.E.L.D. has been legitimatized again and no longer needs to operate in the shadows. Since the world presumes that Coulson is dead, the organization needed a new Director to be the face of the organization. Coulson finds himself back in the role as an agent and teamed with Mack, and together they are tasked with tracking down and confirming the presence of Enhanced people, aka Inhumans. They have been trying to track down and capture Daisy, aka Quake, who has gone rogue in an attempt to atone for sins from the past. But with the world believing that Daisy is a dangerous outlaw who has taken down banks and bridges, the new Director has no qualms about taking her down for good. Agent May is tasked with training specialist strike teams, and Fitz and Simmons have taken a big step forward in their relationship. But with Simmons’ new promotion as Special Advisor to the Director n Science and Technology, Fitz, as well as her former team members, finds it hard to confide in or trust her since she’s now the Director’s confidant.

Marvel has released a fun behind-the-scenes video for Captain America: Civil War, and it puts the focus on Tom Holland's Spider-Man. It's pretty cool because you get to see some of the scenes that involved Holland wearing the actual Spider-Man suit to shoot his scenes and then there's other footage of the actor wearing a motion-capture suit. It's interesting to see what scenes involved the motion capture suit. Check out the video below!

"Whatever you had going for you, that's over."

While I was all patiently waiting for the season seven premiere of The Walking Dead, AMC aired a new TV spot that focuses on the new villain Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). The video hasn't been officially released yet, but a fan recorded it and you can watch it below. It's a fascinating spot because it gives you a look at what it's like to live under the rule of Negan. It shows people bowing to him as he walks by; he talks about his rules; he bashes people with his baseball bat; and he warns that he is everywhere. He's certainly not a person that you want to mess with.

Morgan previously talked about The Walking Dead and explained that with the addition of Negan, it's going to be a completely different show. He said:

“It’s a reset on The Walking Dead world. It’s fucking Negan’s world now.”

This latest spot highlights that world. The Walking Dead season seven premieres on October 23rd, 2016 on AMC.
