Every Iron Man Suit of Armor Tony Stark Has Ever Created in The Comics

Marvel Entertainment has released a five-part video series that breaks down every suit of armor Tony Stark has created in the comic books. The videos are chronologically listed, starting with Tales of Suspense #39 in which Stark builds the Mark I and it all leads up to Tony's Transformative armor that he is currently sporting in the new comic series. Marvel didn’t include any of the suits used in the movies. This is strictly comic book business and it’s pretty awesome to see all the different armors laid out for the fans like this.

Adult Swim has released another “Best Of” video and this one focuses on the awesome Alien franchise. I forgot about a few of these, so watching this was a great reminder of the hilarious inclusion of Alf into the Alien cinematic universe. It looks like Honda wants to be cosplayers' vehicle of choice. The car company has released a couple of promo videos that cater to cosplayers and they even star an actual cosplayer named Laura Cee. This is the first time I’ve seen a car company target the cosplaying market and it’s pretty cool to see them realize how big the community is.

The first video points out all the advantages of owning a Honda and how it fits in with Cee’s cosplay hobby. The second video features Cee explaining what cosplay is for people who might not be familiar with it.

Studio Ronin is the creator of this strikingly dark Star Wars fan art that I was compelled to share with you. The illustrations represent both the original trilogy and The Force Awakens. There’s also a stunning piece featuring Darth Vader walking over the skulls of the dead. If you are a fan of the dark side of the franchise, this art definitely portrays that.

I’ve got a stop-motion animated short film here for you to watch today called Bobby Yeah, and it’s easily one of the strangest and most demented things you will have watched in a while. If watching weird gross stuff makes you feel uncomfortable, you might want to skip this one because it definitely take you on a trip through crazy land.

Bobby Yeah is a subhuman creature who experiences a series of increasingly bizarre, nightmarish encounters after stealing a malevolent baby’s prized pet.

The short comes from Robert Morgan and as deranged as this short is, it was definitely a unique and fascinating film. Check it out if you think you can handle how bonkers it is.

10 Famous Actors Fired or Replaced During a Film Production

Film productions can be a mad beast of insanity and chaos. There’s a lot that can happen between the time an actor is cast in the film and the actual start of production. Ideas clash between the creative people and the talent can change their minds if they don’t like what they signed up for. This happens more than you might think, and ScreenRant has released a video that lists 10 actors who were replaced during a film production. A few people on the list include Ryan Gosling for The Lovely Bones, Rebecca Gayheart for Firefly, Sean Young for Batman, Lou Ferrigno for Gladiator and more.

A fan-favorite movie or TV character begins with perfect casting: but perfect isn't always obvious from the start. Sometimes, directors or actors find out too late that a role or performance just isn't going to cut it - leaving studios scrambling to find replacements. They may be hard to believe, but here are 10 Actors Who Got Fired or Replaced During Production.

Trailer For The Documentary Film RICHARD LINKLATER: DREAM OF DESTINY

Richard Linklater is one of those great small-time filmmakers and storytellers that is an inspiration to any young filmmaker looking to make movies for a living. I’m a fan of Linklater’s work and it's been an interesting road for him since he made the 1990s classic film Dazed and Confused.

We have a trailer here for you to watch for a documentary called Richard Linklater: Dream of Destiny. I managed to catch a screening of the film at Sundance earlier this year and it was incredibly inspiring. It takes us on the journey through his life and everything he had to go through to become the filmmaker he has become. It features behind-the-scenes footage from the films he’s made and includes interviews with with frequent collaborators like Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke

If you’re a fan of Linklater’s films, which also include Before Sunrise, Waking Life, School of Rock, A Scanner Darkly, Bernie, Boyhood, and most recently Everybody Wants Some!!, which was a fantastic film, you’ll want to watch this doc.

One of the foremost American filmmakers of our time, Richard Linklater achieved cult immortality with the ‘90s classic Dazed and Confused, won critical respect for the sublime Before trilogy, and redefined cinematic storytelling with the groundbreaking Boyhood. But along the way, the director’s unconventional working methods and fierce independence have frequently put him at odds with the industry. Through interviews with both the filmmaker and many of his closest collaborators, this revealing profile traces Linklater’s life and work—from the DIY landmark Slacker to his latest comedy Everybody Wants Some!!—shedding light on how a creative visionary carved out a one-of-a-kind career unbeholden to the Hollywood machine.

Richard Linklater: Dream is Destiny will get a limited release in theaters and also hit VOD on August 5th.

The game Overwatch has inspired some insanely cool cosplay since it’s been released. It's amazing to see the level of talent that is out there bringing these characters to life with their mad skills. This Genji cosplay was created by Just Cosplay & Props, who is new to the cosplay scene and he claims that this is his first cosplay project; as you can see, it turned out to be incredibly impressive. He jumped right out of the gate and set the bar extremely high with this thing, so we can expect to see some great things from this cosplayer in the future. This is definitely one of the best Genji cosplays that I’ve seen. The photos you see here were taken by Conwant

Trailer For Dark Comedy Revenge Thriller IN ORDER OF DISAPPEARANCE with Stellan Skarsgård

trailer-for-a-dark-comedy-revenge-thriller-in-order-of-disappearance-with-stellan-skarsgrd

"If Norwegian kids disappear, there's always some obnoxious parents out looking for them."

Thor’s Stellan Skarsgård leads the cast of this great-looking dark comedy revenge thriller called In Order of Disappearance. Magnolia Pictures released the first US trailer for the Norwegian film, which comes from director Hans Petter Moland

I enjoy watch dark comedies, I like revenge thrillers, and Skarsgård is awesome, so I’d be delighted to see this. The story follows a snow plow driver in Norway who embarks on a journey of revenge against the drug cartel that killed his son. This seriously looks like a fantastic flick.

Introverted and hard-working snowplow driver Nils has just been named “Citizen of the Year,” when he receives news that his son has died of a heroin overdose. Disbelieving the official report, Nils soon uncovers evidence of the young man's murder - a victim in a turf war between the local crime boss, known as "The Count", and his Serbian rivals. Armed with heavy machinery and a good dose of beginner's luck, Nils embarks upon a quest for revenge that soon escalates into a full-blown underworld gang war, with the body count spiraling ever higher and higher.

In Order of Disappearance hits in US theaters and VOD starting on August 26th. The film is in Norwegian so there are subtitles. If you don’t know how to read and you don’t speak Norwegian…I don’t know what to tell you.

Here’s a series of images that originate from BuzzFeed which feature wacky face swaps of several Disney heroes with their villains. The result is absolutely ridiculous, but at the same time I can’t help but be entertained by them. A couple of them even made me chuckle. Some of the films represented here include The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Emperors New Groove, Hercules, Mulan, Pocahontas, and more. I thought maybe some of you might get a kick out of these as well.

Jean-Claude Van Damme Signs on For KICKBOXER: RETALIATION

Jean-Claude Van Damme is set to return to the Kickboxer franchise in the upcoming film Kickboxer: Retaliation, which is the sequel to Kickboxer: Vengeance, which hasn't even been released yet. He will join Mike Tyson, who was cast in the film last month.

Van Damme signed his contract live on video on his official Facebook page earlier this week. Dimitri Logothetis, who directed Stephen King’s Sleepwalkers and holds two black belts, is the writer and producer of Kickboxer: Vengeance and he is directing this sequel. He says, “JC brings his charisma and martial arts talents to ‘Kickboxer’ as no other actor can.”

The story centers on the character Kurt Sloane played here by Alain Moussi, who is “brought back forcibly to Thailand to fend for his life against a new formidable foe, portrayed by Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, who plays The Mountain on Game of Thrones.”

Tyson is set to play a “tough convict forced into a world of fighting behind bars.” Van Damme will be reprising his role of Master Durand. The sequel starts shooting in Thailand next week.

Kickboxer: Vengeance, which is set to be released in September, was directed by John Stockwell and stars Moussi, Van Damme, Dave Bautista, Gina Carano, Georges St-Pierre, and Darren Shahlavi

I hope these upcoming new Kickboxer films are good! I liked the original 1989 film and it'd be awesome if the rebooted franchise actually kicks ass.

Review: The New GHOSTBUSTERS is Way Better Than It Looks

$

0

When a female-led reboot of Ghostbusters was announced, I never could have anticipated just how terrible internet commenters would react to the news. More toxic hatred was spilled online about this movie than any in recent memory, and things only got worse when the trailers started coming out. Having loved director Paul Feig's previous film, Spy, which also had some awful trailers advertising it, I held out the slightest sliver of faith that Ghostbusters (which has now officially been retitled Ghostbusters: Answer The Call to avoid confusion with the original) would end up being worthwhile...so it's with a massive sigh of relief I tell you that the movie is pretty damn good.

(Light spoilers ahead.)

The first half of the film is expertly plotted; one point naturally leads to the next with a smooth flow and perfect pacing. Dr. Erin Gilbert (Kristen Wiig) is a Columbia University employee trying to secure tenure when she's confronted with some bad news: without Erin's permission, her former colleague and friend Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy) has published a book the two co-wrote but abandoned years earlier, which details their theories about the paranormal. These unsubstantiated claims could ruin Erin's career, so she confronts Abby and her friend's engineer/physicist lab partner Jillian Holtzmann (Kate McKinnon), who agree to stop selling the book if Erin comes along to answer a report of a possible ghost sighting.

Once this early incarnation of the Ghostbusters takes shape, they round out the group with Kevin (Chris Hemsworth), their endearingly idiotic receptionist, and Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones), an MTA worker who's had her own ghost encounter and wants to join the team. A proliferation of ghost sightings occur all over the city, and it's up to the ladies to figure out what's causing them and to stop the person responsible before the city is completely destroyed.

Despite the somewhat lackluster humor depicted in the trailers, the movie is often laugh-out-loud funny. There are a handful of jokes that don't land, but for the most part, the ratio of success is much higher than I hoped. Wiig does solid work as the traditional straight woman opposite the rest of the group's more bombastic personalities, gamely taking the brunt of the film's big slime moments. McKinnon is a movie star waiting to happen, a delightfully zany presence whose facial expressions and darting eyes are almost as funny as her dialogue. And Jones, who the advertising indicates might be the weakest link of the group, is a natural fit with this group and works much better in context. She's a welcome addition to the team, and her character's in-depth knowledge of New York City history doesn't have the stench of feeling "written" for the sake of plot convenience, it feels like she's a fully-formed person who is legitimately interested in these things in her spare time.

McCarthy, meanwhile, is a performer I haven't quite been able to wrap my head around. In her lesser movies (example: The Identity Thief), you can almost feel that classic comedian desperation radiating from her, as if she's trying so hard to throw herself into the role for our amusement that it ends up being more sad than funny. But every time she works with Feig, that sense of desperation goes away, and their collaboration seems to be the secret ingredient that allows her to really shine. Her worst tendencies are largely curbed here, and she's not nearly as physical with her comedy as she often is elsewhere, which is to the film's benefit. Put another way: it's like she's playing a real character in Ghostbusters instead of a "Melissa McCarthy character."

The supporting cast is killer, too, with every small role filled by a recognizable actor. Zach Woods, Cecily Strong, Matt Walsh, Michael K. Williams, Andy Garcia...the list goes on, and they all knock it out of the park. But the best supporting player may be Chris Hemsworth, whose moronic receptionist Kevin gets some of the film's absolute funniest lines. Hemsworth's super-serious Thor has never been my favorite take on a Marvel character, and I haven't seen him in Vacation, so I'm not sure if he was a comedy highlight of that film or not, but this is the first time I saw him in something and thought, "I underestimated this guy. He's capable of more than I thought." (There's a bit about the name of Kevin's dog that's the funniest thing I've heard this year.)

I've essentially been doing nothing but praising the movie in this entire review, but the film isn't flawless. The visual effects are outstanding throughout, but by the time the film arrives at its VFX-heavy climax, I felt as if the visuals started to get a little repetitive. There's an extended sequence in which the Ghostbusters fight waves of ghosts in the middle of an abandoned New York City intersection, and while I appreciate the introduction of new gadgets that allow for some variation from the proton packs, the scene seemed to stretch on a few minutes too long. That was the first moment I was taken out of the movie and left thinking about how even though the effects look terrific right now, they'll surely look dated in a few years.

An objective comparison between this movie and the original is impossible, especially since the first film is so clearly tied to not only to its era of filmmaking and the iconic heights of its stars at the time, but because of how we were all younger when we saw it for the first time and nostalgia can cause us to put up blinders when it comes to finding faults with things we loved as kids. A majority of people have already made up their minds about if they're going to hate this movie before they've even seen it, so while it has a couple of references and callbacks to the first movie (stay after the credits to see another one), it's not aimed at 30-something year old males who loved the original. It's aimed at a new generation and a different demographic, and it's awesome that today's young women will be able to see this and think about how busting ghosts is cool and fun when they may not have been able to have the same personal identification with the 1984 classic. But when you strip away all of the gender politics surrounding the movie and just look at the movie itself, I came away with one clear thought in mind: I'm just glad it's funny.

James Badge Dale is Set to Star in The Supernatural Thriller THE EMPTY MAN

20th Century Fox is developing a feature film based on the Boom Studios’ 2014 graphic novel, The Empty Man. This is a supernatural set story that will be directed by David Fincher protege David Britten Prior, and the film just landed a great actor: James Badge Dale, who has starred in films such as Iron Man 3, The Walk, World War Z, 13 Hours, and more.

james-badge-dale-is-set-to-star-in-the-supernatural-thriller-the-empty-man66

According to THR, Dale will be play an ex-cop, who is “plagued by the violent death of his wife and son, who battles to find a missing girl but soon discovers a sinister presence around him.” It’s also said that Prior’s version of the story “takes some departures” from the source material.

The comic comes from Eisner Award-winning writer Cullen Bunn and illustrator Vanesa R. Del Rey and here’s the official description:

The Empty Man made me do it.
It’s been one year since the first reported case of the Empty Man disease, and no drug has been able to slow its progress. The cause is unknown, and the symptoms include fits of rage, hideous hallucinations, suicidal dementia, followed by death, or a near lifeless, "empty" state of catatonia. As cults rise nationwide, the FBI and CDC enter a joint investigation of the Empty Man, hoping to piece together clues to stop the cult and uncover a cure. THE EMPTY MAN is a dystopic version of the world we know, where a terrifying disease has taken on almost deific connotations.

I’ve never read the comic but this sounds like a great story that could make for a solid film. There’s no word on when the film will be released but shooting may start this fall in South Africa.

Talented Artist Transforms Her Arms Into Crazy Optical Illusions

An artist by the name of Lisha Simpson has created an impressive collection of arm art work that shows off some cool and trippy optical illusions. She says that she is “fascinated by anything weird or unusual” and that definitely comes across in the work that you will see below. When talking about her art with Bored Panda, she explains:

“The final illusion is created by a combination of the perfect lighting, solid black paint to create negative space, a black background and the right angle. Once I've captured the perfect photo, I then use a photo editing app that allows me to fade the black paint to blend in with my background.”

The results are pretty fantastic.

3 Exciting New Clips for JASON BOURNE Bring on the Action

$

Universal Pictures has released three new TV spots for Jason Bourne, and nothing is going to stop him from finding out answers to his past and kicking ass in the process. This looks like an incredible next chapter in the awesome franchise.

The first clip takes place on the Las Vegas strip. Matt Damon's Bourne is chasing down a SWAT van that is being driven by Vincent Cassel's character, Asset. We’ve heard a lot of buzz about this Vegas strip chase scene, and I can’t wait to see how it plays out. In the second clip, Bourne steals a police motorcyle and sets out to rescue Nicky Parsons (Julia Stiles). Then in the third and final clip, CIA agent Heather Lee (Alicia Vikander) and CIA Director Robert Dewey (Tommy Lee Jones) call Bourne to try and talk him down. I don't think he’s buying their bullshit, though.

Paul Greengrass is back to direct the third installment, and so far everything I’ve seen has looked great. The story finds the CIA’s most lethal former operative drawn out of the shadows, and he's ready to fight for his life again. We'll get to see Jason Bourne kick ass in theaters on July 29th, 2016.

Stories of 10 Famous Actors Who Don’t Like Dealing with Fans

$

0

I imagine it’s not easy being famous. It’s gotta be annoying being bombarded by fans, especially when you're a part of a hugely popular franchise. It’s not hard to imagine some actors being bitter to their fans and ScreenRant has posted a video that lists ten actors who hate dealing with fans and offer a story for each one. Some of the actors included here are Christian Bale, Ewan McGregor, Simon Pegg, Alec Guinness, Tobey Maguire, Jared Leto, and more.

There is a lot of pressure that comes along with being famous. And existing in the public eye 24/7 can take its toll on even the most level-headed entertainers. Especially if they’re tied to a hugely successful franchise. Constant interruptions and autograph requests can get tiresome, but most people argue that’s just part of the job. And as with all jobs, some people are just better at it than others.

It Sounds Like a Sequel to WARCRAFT Is Coming

$

Thanks to China, Duncan Jones’ epic fantasy film Warcraft made over $422 million dollars worldwide. The movie bombed in the U.S., only making $46 million, which is ridiculous to me because I thought the movie was great, but I’m obviously in the minority.

Regardless of the film’s failure in the U.S., the movie has made enough money to warrant a sequel. According to the official Chinese social media account for the film, a sequel to Warcraft is being planned.

On the Chinese microblogging website Weibo, the official social media account of the movie said:

“Warcraft’s theatrical run is coming to an end. But the chapter of a new decade has just begun. It’s a starting point, not an end point. We don’t say goodbye now because we’ll meet you again!”

That’s awesome news for anyone who was a fan of the first! I know Jones has a trilogy planned out, and I hope he is able to follow through with the story to the end. In regards to where his trilogy is headed, the director previously told us:

“You don’t make films this big and not hope that you’re going to get the chance to make maybe one or two more. I know Chris Metzen, who works at Blizzard and myself have talked about, if we have the chance to make a trilogy, what would story be? And what we set up in this film, I think, I don’t think I’m spoiling anything by saying… The Orcs had a home, they lost their home. Duratan, who’s chieftain of the Frost Worlds has tried to bring his people somewhere to give them a new home. At the end of this movie they don’t quite have that new home yet. I would hope by the end of the trilogy we know where the Orcs are going to live.”

Warcraft has obviously found their audience in fans of the game. It just doesn’t seem like general audiences could really get into it, and that was my fear from the beginning, that the fantasy elements in the film were just way too heavy. But it wouldn’t be a proper Warcraft movie without them.

I’m just happy to see that it looks like there’s a good chance we’ll get to see the second chapter of the story.
