We've seen a good amount of geek culture anatomy art in the past, but nothing quite like this. This series of art comes from NYCHOS and he disturbingly dissects some of our favorite geek culture characters like Spider-Man, Darth Vader, Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, Yoda, Mario, Batman, and more. Yeah, it might be a bit gross to look at, but it's still cool.

Mars Studio, who has previously created some awesome Iron Man armor character designs, has released a new piece of art featuring his version of The Rocketeer. The design manages to keep the cool retro style of the original, but there are also few slight tweaks that make it pop, like the helmet and the bug eye look. I dig it! It seems like the kind of character you would see fighting alongside Ant-Man. Joshy is probably one of the saddest dark comedies that I’ve ever seen. The story starts out very very dark and then lightens up a bit, but it’s still sprinkled with darkness throughout the movie. I thought the movie was really well made and it had a solid cast that includes Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley) as Josh, and he's joined by Nick Kroll, Alex Ross Perry, Brett Gelman, Alison Brie, Adam Pally, Jake Johnson, and Aubrey Plaza. I thought Kroll was hilarious and easily the best part of the movie.
After his engagement suddenly ends, Joshy and a few his friends decide to take advantage of what was supposed to be his bachelor party in Ojai, California. In their attempt to help Joshy deal with the recent turn of events, the guys turn the getaway into a raucous weekend filled with drugs, booze, debauchery, and hot tubs.

Joshy was written and directed by Jeff Baena (Life After Beth) and it will be released by Lionsgate Premiere in theaters and On Demand August 12th.
Artist Sebastian Skrobol has created a great little series of Marvel fan art featuring the All-New Wolverine, Morbius The Living Vampire, Rocket Raccoon and Groot, and Carnage. This is the same talented artist who created the Hellgirl fan art we posted a few months ago.
Invisible is a wonderfully adorable animated short film that tells the story of a lonely chameleon who struggles to stay visible while trying to get the attention of his crush. Every time he works up the courage to talk to her and ask her to dance, he automatically blends in with the background and she doesn’t see him.
The movie was created by Michael Trikosko and Andrew Wilson for a project at Ringling College Art and Design. They did a fantastic job bringing their charming story to life and I hope you enjoy it!
Here’s a new cosplayer I just came across that you need to keep your eye on. She goes by the name CutiePieSensei and we have some great photos here showing her cosplay for Supergirl and Widowmaker from Overwatch. Her costume designs are beautiful. I absolutely love her take on Supergirl.

Hot Topic has revealed a new fashion line of clothing that revolves around the upcoming DC Entertainment film Suicide Squad. Most of the clothes that they’ve designed centers around the three characters Harley Quinn, Joker, and Katana. Attack on Titan season two has finally gotten a premiere date! During the "Shingeki Matsuri" event that took place over the weekend, it was announced that season two of Attack on Titan will premiere in the spring 2017. They also released an Attack on Titan promo image, along with a list of the cast and crew who will be involved with the second season.
Fans have been waiting for this series for way too long. I’m still bummed that we have to continue to wait until 2017. and all I have to say is that season two better be worth the wait and the patience. The series was supposed to premiere this year, but it was postponed.

As far as I know, no official action figures have been released for the classic animated series The Legend of Korra, which is a bloody shame. I wonder why that is, you’d think they would just fly off the shelves. There have been a couple of statuettes, but that’s it.
Well, the first Legend of Korra figure is here. It features the main character Nendoroid Korra, and it comes from Good Smile Company. It’s a cool little figurine that has a cuteness factor, but I would much rather have a more traditional style action figure as this one only has only two kinds of poses. Maybe one day there will be a “real” Legend of Korra action figure line, but until that happens, this will have to tide you over. With the way the figure is proportioned, they should have given her a little baby belly like the kid version of the character in the animated series. I’ve included a video as a little reminder of what I'm talking about below the photos.
From Nickelodeon's "The Legend of Korra", the sequel to "Avatar: The Last Airbender" comes a Nendoroid of the main character, Korra! She has been shrunk down into cute Nendoroid size with a tough, confident expression that captures her personality and charm!
Korra can be displayed with her feet firmly grounded preparing herself for a battle, or instead jumping through the air with special bending effect parts! Her hair is fitted with joints and the effect parts each have their own stands that can be moved around to suit various different poses!
You can currently pre-order the item at Good Smile’s online store for 4,444 yen, which is around $43.35 in the US.
Disney’s upcoming remake of their 1977 film Pete’s Dragon looks like an absolutely wonderful film, and today we have a new extended TV spot for you to check out. It includes a charming song being sung by Oakes Fegley, who plays Pete in the film, and it also features some great new footage from the film that includes Elliot the dragon. I'm actually really looking forward to seeing this movie. It looks like it’s going to be great.
David Lowery directed the film and it also stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Karl Urban, Robert Redford, Wes Bentley, Oona Laurence, Craig Hall, and Isiah Whitlock Jr.
For years, old wood carver Mr. Meacham (Robert Redford) has delighted local children with his tales of the fierce dragon that resides deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. To his daughter, Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard), who works as a forest ranger, these stories are little more than tall tales…until she meets Pete (Oakes Fegley). Pete is a mysterious 10-year-old with no family and no home who claims to live in the woods with a giant, green dragon named Elliott. And from Pete’s descriptions, Elliott seems remarkably similar to the dragon from Mr. Meacham’s stories. With the help of Natalie (Oona Laurence), an 11-year-old girl whose father Jack (Wes Bentley) owns the local lumber mill, Grace sets out to determine where Pete came from, where he belongs, and the truth about this dragon.
The movie is set to be released on August 12th!
Genndy Tartakovsky is bringing Samurai Jack back to life on Adult Swim. We got our first bloody look at the character recently, and now the network has released a must watch behind-the-scenes video that focuses on the return of the series, which is currently in production in Los Angeles.
The story follows Jack, a samurai who travelled through time with the quest to head back to where he came from and defeat the demon Aku. In a previous interview, Tartakovsky talked about the return of the series:
“I think through the years, after we finished Jack, almost every year it seems like Samurai Jack has gotten more and more popular and more and more people have seen it. I feel like it’s culminating to a fever pitch almost. I feel like it’s time to maybe finish the story."
We learn from the featurette that a lot has changed since the series finale. It’s explained that the new series does pick up elements from the original story, but it takes place many years later and a lot has changed. He wouldn't give any details, but he said the first episode would be a cool reveal. Tartakovsky also talked about making the series for Adult Swim vs. Cartoon Network:
"Making [Samurai Jack] for Adult Swim versus Cartoon Network, it's been a really big challenge. I didn't want to go full-on heads getting chopped off and blood spurting everywhere, but at the same time I wanted to...take advantage of some of those [opportunities.]"
The show is set to premiere later this year during Adult Swim's Toonami block. I can't wait to see Jack back in action and to finally see where the story goes from where the series left off back in 2004.
So this just happened. For all you Young Justice Fans out there, one of the original showrunners, Greg Weisman, has some positive news for us. Previously, our own Mick Joest wrote about Netflix taking a look at the viewing numbers for a potential Young Justice Season 3, and now we have some additional pieces of info on how you can help make this a reality. On a recent episode of Kirblog, Weisman let us know that while he does work for Nickelodeon now and no longer Warner Brothers, he has had conversations with both parties (Warner Brothers and Netflix) and has a better understanding of where they are with reviving the show. The podcast is worth listening to and can be found here.
Weisman explains that in order to understand how we can make this happen, we have to understand why the show was cancelled in the first place. The actual budget of the show was paid for by Mattel in return for the toy licensing. The issue is that with the toy line failing, Mattel pulled their funding, and the show was left dead in the water. If we are able to generate revenue through different ways, then we can make this happen. As Weisman puts it, it would take a push from a few major organizations — Netflix, DC Comics, and Warner Brothers. He even provided us with a few different things we can do as fans to help make the movement happen:
A. Binging on Netflix - This shows Netflix the series is wanted and if a 3rd season were released fans would eagerly watch.
B. Buying new Young Justice DVDs/Blu-ray/on iTunes - This shows Warner Brothers and Warner Brothers Home Entertainment that financially, this is a viable product. Used copies would not go to Warner Brothers, so only purchasing new helps.
C. Buying the E-Comics either on iTunes or Comixology – This shows DC Comics that there is an interest in this product and will help in conversations with Warner Brothers.
Even taking to Twitter, Weisman advises fans to use hashtags #KeepBingingYJ and #BuyYJBluRaysDVDs. We are closer than we have ever been before to a Young Justice Season 3. There are already plans and a story for the third season, they just need our support! I don’t know about you guys, but I could use another “Hello, Megan!” and I want to find out what happens to Wally after that finale! I just wonder if fans of the series will go out of their way to purchase it when they can stream it on Netflix for free. Only time will tell. #KeepBingingYJ
When J.K. Simmons was cast in Justice League, I had no doubt that he would give us one of the most awesome and hardcore versions of Commissioner Gordon ever put on screen. Then when those photos of him working out in the gym surfaced, they just confirmed my thoughts.
During a recent interview with EW, the actor opened up about his vision of the character and shared what he wants to bring to the role, and one thing he wants to bring to Gordon is badassery:
“People of my generation remember Commissioner Gordon as this jolly, ineffectual Santa Claus type, and I think over the years in the comics there’s definitely much more of a badass side to him. One of the things that’s interesting to me is investigating hopefully a little bit more of that badass [side]…You’re living in a universe where it’s pretty tough to be a badass compared to somebody like Batman, but in the universe of non-superheroes I like the idea of Commissioner Gordon as a guy that can take care of himself, a guy that’s a real partner to Batman, not just a guy that turns on the bat signal and goes, ‘Help! Help, Batman!’”
Hell yeah! Seeing Gordon fight alongside Batman and kick some ass would be awesome! Even being able to kick ass on his own when Batman isn’t around. The guy is not only a great detective but also a skilled fighter who can hold his own. I can’t wait to see Simmons as Gordon in Justice League. It’s one of the main things from the film that I’m actually looking forward to.
Justice League is set to be released in theaters on November 17th, 2017.
We have a treat for you this 4th of July! In a rare recording provided by Brainpicker, J.R.R Tolkien reads passages from Lord of The Rings and sings "Sam's Rhyme of The Troll." I've always wondered what Tolkien sounded like, but I guess never took the time to actually search out some interviews to hear his voice! This is really cool!
A communication breakdown is going to result in a lot of Arrow fans being upset. A couple months back it was reported that Arrow showrunners were not expecting the events of The Flash to have any impact on the upcoming season of Arrow despite The Flash showrunners saying it would be "Flashpoint." That news was then squashed by Stephen Amell himself saying, "Yes, it will affect the season."
Now it appears wires were crossed and someone was wrong in what they reported. Amell cleared the air on Facebook...
Yeah, I figured the initial report wouldn't be trumped by Amell. While I do think there was a miscommunication, I seem to recall stuff like this happening in the past with Amell and wouldn't be surprised if he himself stepped out of line in saying too much or perhaps didn't fully understand the question he was answering. Either way, this makes for disappointing news for Arrow fans as well as Flash fans!
Last summer, Mr. Sunday Movies created a video that counted all of the times Batman killed someone on film. But that was before Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hit theaters, a movie that really put the "dark" in "The Dark Knight." That movie's version of Batman burns a Bat symbol into the skin of criminals so they have a rougher time in prison. That Batman is living life on the edge, constantly seething and barely able to contain his ever-boiling rage.
Mr. Sunday Movies is back with a new video that narrows the kill count down to Batman v Superman itself. When you compare the final number here with the final number of kills Batman is responsible for across all of his other movies combined, I don't think you'll be too surprised by the results.
