In his first interview since landing the part of Zordon in the upcoming Power Rangers, Bryan Cranston talks about the film and shares a couple of new details. Casting Cranston was the best thing to happen to this film because he brings huge credence and confidence to the project.

While talking to Entertainment Tonight, Cranston, who provided some voice work on the original series, shared his excitement for playing the part and revealed a few details on his version of Zordon and the role he plays in the lives of the Power Rangers.

"Yes, it's motion capture and it's a lot of CGI-work. The tenant of that storyline is that this a real person who is trapped in this etherworld and it becomes this in-the-wall so to speak of [the command center], He still has a heart and mind, but an agenda that he's got to get these five Power Rangers to defend the earth or else everyone they know will be killed. So, it's exciting."

I can’t wait to see Cranston as Zordon. I hope he ends up having a decent sized role in the movie, but we’ll probably only get about five to ten minutes of Zordon in the film, if that.

Saban's Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.

Power Rangers comes out on March 24th, 2017.

Some new concept art has surfaced for Zack Snyder's Justice League, and it gives us a new look at the whole team together in their superhero suits. There's Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), the Flash (Ezra Miller), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher).

The art was featured in some extras for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition. The most interesting aspect of the concept art is seeing the costumes for The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg. Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman pretty much look the same. This is probably early concept art, though, and the final designs for the characters will most likely have been changed a bit over time.

For example, Aquaman has blonde hair, and we know Momoa will be sporting dark hair in the film. There was also talk of Superman having longer hair in Justice League, but we aren't seeing that here either. I do like The Flash's suit, and it definitely adds some much needed brighter colors to the team. He's the character I'm most excited about seeing in the movie. Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. This cosplay featuring Coraline’s other mother is quite possibly the most terrifying cosplay that I’ve ever seen. Cartoon Network has released the first clip for the upcoming Powerpuff Girls and Teen Titans Go! crossover episode. In the clip we see The Powerpuff Girls trying to team up with the Teen Titans to take on Mojo Jojo, but it seems the Teen Titans have something else in mind. 

Powerpuff Girls Executive Producer Nick Jennings previously talked about the crossover episode and offered some details saying:

"Jump City will never be the same when our little superheroes Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup meet up with the Teen Titans for the very first time. When these two worlds of superheroes collide, it will surely be something to remember.

“Titans members Cyborg and Beast Boy find Mojo Jojo to be pretty cool for a talking monkey, the Girls compete with Raven, Starfire and Robin to see which superhero team is better, and there's a catchy song called Monkey Army that's bound to get stuck in fans' heads.”

So before the two teams come together to fight Mojo Jojo, there will be a little friendly competition. I don’t mind watching these series with my kids, and this crossover episode looks like it will be fun episode for any fan of these series. 

A couple of new behind-the-scenes images from director Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman have been released thanks to the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition. As you can see, they feature Gal Gadot as the Amazonian Warrior Princess all decked out in her armor and wearing a cool hooded cloak. Apparently, there will also be some new footage from the film included in the special features for the of the ultimate edition of Batman v Superman, so keep an eye out for that!

I'm actually really excited about this Wonder Woman movie, and I think that it's going to kick ass. It has previously been reported that the film will tell Wonder Woman's entire history and explain what her mission is. The movie is set to hit theaters on June 2nd, 2017, and it also stars Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen, Danny Huston, Säid Taghmaoui, David Thewlis, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner, and Lucy Davis.

That last season of Game of Thrones sure was something, wasn't it? The last two episodes especially were just completely mind-blowing. The stage is set to bring the series to a close, and the end is coming sooner than you think.

We knew the series was going to come to an end, but to put things into perspective for you, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have confirmed that there are only 13 to 15 episodes left in the series before it's done. During a recent interview with Deadline regarding the season 6 finale, Benioff said:

"It’s two more seasons we’re talking about. From pretty close to the beginning, we talked about doing this in 70-75 hours, and that’s what we’ll end up with. Call it 73 for now."

So as it stands right now, it's likely we'll only see 13 more episodes, which is kinda crazy. If that's the case, they might as well just do one more 13 episode season instead of splitting it up into two short seasons. Let's just get it over with! Rip it off like a Band-Aid. I do think it's good that the show is coming to an end sooner rather than later, and Benioff explained that decision (SPOILERS ahead):

"We’re trying to tell one cohesive story with a beginning, middle and end. As Dan said, we’ve known the end for quite some time and we’re hurtling towards it. Those last images from the show that aired last night showed that. Daenerys is finally coming back to Westeros; Jon Snow is king of the North and Cersei is sitting on the Iron Throne. And we know the Night King is up there, waiting for all of them. The pieces are on the board now. Some of the pieces have been removed from the board and we are heading toward the end game.

"The thing that has excited us from the beginning, back to the way we pitched it to HBO is, it’s not supposed to be an ongoing show, where every season it’s trying to figure out new story lines. We wanted it to be one giant story, without padding it out to add an extra 10 hours, or because people are still watching it. We wanted to something where, if people watched it end to end, it would make sense as one continuous story. We’re definitely heading into the end game now."

I've never been a big fan of those filler episodes and there's no place for them in Game of Thrones. As long as the showrunners tell the full story they set out to tell, I'll be happy. They already know how it's going to end, now it's just a matter of taking the fans to that ending. It's hard to even imagine how this series is going to come to a close. We can speculate all we want about what is going to happen, but I've come to expect the unexpected from this incredible series.

It's going to be sad when it ends, but I trust that Benioff, Weiss, and George R.R. Martin are going to give us a conclusion that is completing satisfying. 

People are going above and beyond to try to become real-life X-Men. Just the other day, Mick wrote about a guy who created his own Iceman-style gloves, and today I saw this video of Los Angeles-based Allen Pan testing out his homemade visor flamethrower inspired by Cyclops.

The visor, which is essentially a welding helmet with two pilot lights in front of the eyes and a fuel tank attached to it, seems like an extraordinarily bad idea. If something goes wrong with that thing, it's on your freaking head! There's no getting out of that one. This won't turn him into an X-men as much as an ex-man (get it? Because he'll be dead).

A couple of months ago, Showtime announced that actor Idris Elba was teaming up with 12 Years a Slave and American Crime writer John Ridley for a six-episode limited series called Guerrilla. Now we have some more information about the series, including one of its two major stars: Slumdog Millionaire actress Freida Pinto has been cast as the female lead.

Pinto will play the role of “Jas Mitra,” a passionate and politically driven individual. As a member of a newly-formed radical underground cell, “Jas” helps liberate a charismatic convict from prison in an effort to lead the street fight against social injustice in 1971 London. GUERRILLA is a love story set against the backdrop of one of the most politically explosive times in U.K. history. It tells the story of “Jas” and “Marcus,” whose relationship and values are tested when they form a radical underground cell. Their ultimate target becomes the Black Power Desk, a true-life, secretive counter-intelligence unit within Special Branch dedicated to crushing all forms of black activism. Whilst the series is set against a background of social and political activism, at its heart GUERRILLA is about a relationship under pressure, and the reality that for any couple there comes a point when the choices they make have real and lasting consequences.

Elba is co-starring in the series, but he won't play Pinta's romantic partner — that role, "Marcus," has yet to be cast. This sounds like a fascinating series with some obvious parallels to what's happening in America right now, and I feel like Pinto is a straight-up movie star; I'm hoping this will be enough of a showcase for her to be able to score some coveted roles down the road.

Ridley will write the majority of the show's episodes and direct the first two and the finale, while Luther director Sam Miller will step in to direct the other episodes. Filming begins in London this summer for a presumed release sometime in 2017.

"One shall stand, one shall fall."

The first prelude episode for Hasbro and Machinima’s Transformers: Combiner Wars series has been released, and it focuses on Optimus Prime. In it, the former Autobot leader reflects on the great war and how it finally ended with a battle between him and the mighty Megatron. This will be followed by three more prelude episodes that will focus on the characters Victorion, Starscream, and Windblade, and they reveal the current state of Cybertron. Here are some details revealed for each of those characters: 

Victorion, a Combiner born from the magic of the 'Enigma of Combination', describes her anger with this new state of affairs and proclaims her intention to save the Transformers galaxy from the chaos created in the aftermath of disbanding the Autobots and Decepticons. 

Starscream, no longer the villain we once knew him as, is now a member of a great 'Council' along with The Mistress of Flame from the planet Caminus and Rodimus Prime.  The burden of responsibility is heavy on the three due to the destruction and loss of life from the ongoing Combiner Wars. 

Windblade, once an official 'City Speaker' to the gigantic 'Titans' is tired of the bureaucratic non-action of the Council, who seem to sit idly while her people and her cities on Caminus perish. She decides that the only way to end the Combiner Wars is to take matters into her own vengeful hands. 

Transformers: Combiner Wars is a new series that is targeted to adult fans who grew up with the original Transformers series, and these prelude episodes are being released to help fuel the flames of excitement. It will premiere on August 2.

Marvel Studios' Doctor Strange movie has already experienced its fair share of controversy over the casting of Tilda Swinton as Strange's mentor, The Ancient One, but considering how much more socially conscious we've all become since the comic was originally written (we haven't solved racism or anything yet, but things have clearly improved since the '60s), there are going to have to be some major changes to the source material in order for the film to work for 2016 audiences.

One of those changes concerns the character of Wong, who in the comics serves as the valet sidekick of Stephen Strange. Benedict Wong, the actor who's portraying that character in Scott Derrickson's upcoming film, spoke with Den of Geek about the "new direction" they're taking Wong in the movie:

“I’m certainly not going to be the tea-making manservant. We’re heading in a different direction. He’s more of a drill sergeant. There isn’t any martial arts for Wong in Doctor Strange actually, he’s more of a drill sergeant to Kamar-Taj. He’s one of the masters of sorcery.”

That definitely sounds like a cool improvement. The actor doesn't hint at any appearances in future Marvel movies for the character, so I wonder if Marvel is going to kill him off in Doctor Strange. As long as his death actually means something to the other characters and serves the larger story being told, I'd be OK with that. Of course, I'd rather see him stick around for a while in more movies, so we'll have to see what happens to him when Doctor Strange hits theaters on November 4, 2016. You can see Wong playing Kublai Khan in new episodes of Netflix's Marco Polo on July 1.

I would have bet big money that either Siegfried and/or Roy, the German magician duo famous for their Las Vegas shows, died a few years ago after being attacked by one of their tigers on stage. But I would have lost that bet. Despite that very real tiger attack, they're apparently both still alive, because THR reports that they've both signed on to become executive producers of a new biopic about their remarkable ascension to Vegas magician superstardom.

Siegfried and Roy's high-camp style magic show, involving white lions and tigers, was incredibly successful. It is estimated that more than 25 million people saw their Las Vegas show at the Mirage Resort and Casino. But the duo came under attack from animal rights activists who disapproved of their use of live animals in their act.

The Las Vegas show ran from 1990 to 2003, when a white tiger called Mantecore attacked Roy during a live performance and hauled him offstage, causing serious injury. Roy was left partially paralyzed by the attack and, after a brief comeback in 2010, the pair retired from show business. The tiger was not put down and survived until its death of natural causes in 2014.

Philipp Stolzl, the German filmmaker behind movies like The Physician and Erased, will direct.

“The image of Siegfried and Roy floating down onto the stage in their fantastical outfits, landing amidst a pack of snow-white tigers, has been burned into my mind since I was a boy," Stolzl said Monday in a statement. "It was truly out of this world. Being able to tell the story of Siegfried and Roy, covering all their successes, desires and dreams, is a wonderful gift that comes with a special set of challenges for me as a director."

No word yet on casting, but depending on how they tackle the magic elements of their story, this could be an interesting biopic.

Is it bad that after watching this I immediately wanted an Ilvermorny school shirt? Honestly, I've been waiting for anything about an American wizarding school in the Harry Potter universe since I was a kid, and I guess somewhere in the back of my mind I really still wanted this! It's looking like those of us wanting more information on wizardry in America will get our wish beyond Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them as a new short story about Ilvermorny is now available on Pottermore. Tyrese Gibson has confirmed he will be returning to the Transformers film series. The actor played a soldier in the first three installments and after a brief break will be returning for the fifth film, Transformers: The Last Knight. Gibson dropped the news on his Instagram, and he'll appear alongside some of the returning cast from the earlier movies and Transformers: Age of Extinction. That means more Mark Wahlberg, and Josh Duhamel will once again team up with Gibson as he reprises the role of Robert Epps.

It's so weird to write the phrase "Rob McElhenney's Minecraft movie" and actually have it be a factual statement and not a bizarre fever dream, but it's true — the creator, star, and writer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is actually directing a movie based on the mega-popular video game.

The last time we wrote about the film was almost a year ago and we haven't heard anything since, but today, Warner Bros. and Mojang COO Vu Bui announced the film's new release date:

It's still unclear to me exactly how McElhenney intends to translate the blocky aesthetic of the game to the big screen (and what kind of storyline he plans to follow), but at least now we have a date for when we'll find out for sure.

By now even the most avid defenders of the new Ghostbusters have conceded that the new theme by Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliott is pretty awful. Taking a note from that, Sony is moving in another direction for the film's Japanese release. They took the original song, updated it slightly, and translated it into the Japanese language.

The end result is a weird music video that contains some awkwardness in phrasing English to Japanese, but ultimately it's an infinitely better product than what we got here in the States. According to Slashfilm, the women featured in the video are actually prevalent Japanese comedians, so that might explain some of the silliness. Check out this bizarre video below!

If you saw Room — and you should — you'll recognize Jacob Tremblay as the kid who played Jack opposite the Oscar-winning Brie Larson. He gave a tremendous performance in that movie, and he's certainly gained some steam in Hollywood, having already appeared in a guest spot on Last Man on Earth and snagging a co-lead role in Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow's new movie Book of Henry. Another of his upcoming projects is Wonder, Lionsgate's film adaptation of R.J. Palacio's novel that's being directed by The Perks of Being a Wallflower helmer Stephen Chbosky.

Tremblay will play Auggie Pullman, a child born with a facial deformity. As he enters the fifth grade, he begins attending a mainstream school for the first time. Julia Roberts is set to play his mother, and THR says Owen Wilson is in negotiations to play his father.

Will this movie be cheesy? If this trailer for the book that came out a few years ago is any indication, then the answer is "absolutely yes." But will Chbosky be able to contain the cheese, so to speak, and create a powerful story that embraces it instead of being brought down by it?
