Details on Batman's 2 New JUSTICE LEAGUE Vehicles — the Night Crawler & the Flying Fox

0
0

On top of the Batmobile, Ben Affleck's Dark Knight will have a couple new additions to his vehicle arsenal in Justice League. One of them is called the Night Crawler and the other one is called the Flying Fox.

The Night Crawler is an off-road four-wheel drive vehicle that that has four tread tires that can transform into spider-like legs. This thing is described as a tank that seats up to three people and can go to places that the Batmobile can’t. There was some concept art that featured Cyborg and Wonder Woman riding in it. According to /Film:

On all fours, the vehicle is 25-30 feet in height, and the legs can puncture into almost any surface. In Justice League the vehicle is used in a sequence which takes place in an abandoned tunnel which was being constructed in the 1930s to connect Gotham City to Metropolis. This is a vehicle completely new to the Batman universe. Storyline-wise, the vehicle was created by Wayne Technology for the military in the 1960s and adopted by Batman for his needs.

Producer Deborah Snyder tells them:

“There’s a great action set piece that takes place in it. And it’s pretty hard to get the Batmobile through there, so it’s nice to have the Crawler which kind of can maneuver.”

The vehicle also packs a flamethrower, which it will use on Parademons, and it can climb walls and ceilings. This thing sounds like a monster, and it will be fun to see it in action.

The Flying Fox is a completely different beast. This is an old Wayne Technologies project that has been retrofitted to be used as a plane to help transport Justice League team members who don’t have the natural ability to fly. Snyder talked a bit about the vehicle saying:

“If you’re gonna have a whole Justice League, we have to find a way to transport them. So we have the Flying Fox. It fits all of them, but it also can fit a vehicle in it, so we can bring the Batmobile into the Flying Fox. That will be a set that we’ll be building, but we haven’t gotten there yet.”

According to the report, the plane has three levels. “The bottom houses the Batmobile, has seats on the wall and has a ramp that lowers. The second has a wall armory of weapons and a cockpit/gunner in the front where Batman or Alfred controls the weapons. The main cockpit seats two people and is situated at the back of the third level, giving this plane a much different look from many of the other flying vehicles in superhero films.”

Producer Charles Roven added:

“It’s big enough for the Batmobile and it can house other of the Bat gadgets. It’s definitely its own self contained, fantastic piece of equipment.”

This thing sounds huge! I wonder what its maneuverability is like while it flying. Will it be able to outrun or outmaneuver anything chasing after it? I imagine that if Wayne Enterprises built it, it should be able to hold its own.

I guess we'll find out when Justice League is released on November 17th, 2017.

Darth Vader Confirmed for STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE, Plus EW Cover

0

We've heard a lot of rumors over the past few months regarding Darth Vader's inclusion in Gareth Edward's Rogue One: A Story Wars Story. Well, the classic villain is confirmed to be in the film, and his role in the story is apparently quite large.

We've previously heard that Spencer Wilding (Guardians of the Galaxy) will be the actor in the costume and that James Earl Jones will be back to lend his voice to the character. It's been rumored that some of the scenes Vader will be involved with will be "brutal." There are details on his look in the movie that you can read about here, and there's other rumored info on his involvement in the story that you can read here.

With the film revolving around a team of rebels embarking on a mission to steal the plans for the Death Star from the Empire, it only made sense that Vader would have to be in the movie!

There will be a lot more information on Rogue One coming when the new issue of Entertainment Weekly is released on Friday. We have the cover for that upcoming issue that you can see below, and here's a tease of what kind of information will be included in that magazine, which includes who Mads Mikkelsen and Alan Tudyk play in the film.

  • The background of our cover showcases new Imperial weaponry being used against the nascent Rebellion: taller, slimmer walkers known as AT-ACTs hauling cargo, and flatter, fang-like interceptors known as TIE Strikers.
  • New information about Jyn Erso (The Theory of Everything’s Felicity Jones), the outlaw who has clashed with both the Rebellion and the Empire, and now has a chance to clear her ledger of past wrongs by leading a mission for the good guys. It’s also personal – her father, played by Mads Mikkelsen, is a scientist whose knowledge is sought by both sides.
  • Full details of the squad of characters uniting to take on the Empire, played by the most multicultural cast to appear in a Star Wars film yet: Diego Luna, Jiang Wen, Donnie Yen, Riz Ahmed, Forest Whitaker, and Alan Tudyk – as a performance-capture droid. (One of these has been seen before by Star Wars fans.)
  • A look at the skullduggery inside the Imperial ranks, as seen through the eyes of a new villain: Ben Mendelsohn’s ambitious officer, who’s eager to earn the favor of the Emperor – and avoid the wrath of his black-masked enforcer.
  • Candid revelations from the filmmakers about what the current reshoots are adding to the story as the film nears its December release.
  • Finally, confirmation of what fans have hoped ever since the project was announced: Vader is back. We have a run-down of the Sith lord’s first day on set, and what his return means for the larger Star Wars storytelling universe.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on December 16th.

Eli Roth to Direct Jim Carrey in Amblin Entertainment's Horror Film ALEISTER ARCANE

0
0

Jim Carrey is set to star in director Eli Roth's upcoming film project Aleister Arcane. This is a horror film based on the 2004 IDW comic written by Steven Niles, and it is set up at Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment.

Aleister Arcane doesn't sound like your typical Eli Roth horror film. The guy has always been a one-trick pony as all of his films revolve around people being bloodily tortured. None of his films have really had any kind of substance, but that might actually change with this film. Here's the description from the book:

Aleister Green loves playing late night TV horror host Aleister Arcane in his hometown of Jackson, OK...at least, until Jackson's establishment forces him off the air and into unhappy retirement, and an early grave. But Aleister has left a little gift behind — will Jackson ever be the same?

The story centers on a group of kids who befriend the bitter old man who was ruined and shunned by their parents. After he dies, only these kids have the power to thwart the curse he has laid upon their town.

This story definitely seems to have that Amblin tone to it, and it will be interesting to see Roth direct a real film with a real story. I assume that Carrey will be taking on the title role of Aleister Arcane, and it seems like it will be a great role for him. He needs another great role! The last movie I saw that I enjoyed him in was Kick-Ass 2.

Yesterday it was announced that Bryan Cranston had been cast in the role of Zordon in the upcoming Power Rangers movie. That news was huge! That casting alone ups the level of excitement tremendously. Lionsgate followed that up by releasing a teaser poster for the film that offers us the tagline, "Together we are more." If you look closely, you'll be able to see the lightning bolt logo in the stars.

Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. The poster features the silhouettes of the Rangers. Dacre Montgomery as Jason the Red Ranger, RJ Cyler as Billy the Blue Ranger, Naomi Scott as Kimberly the Pink Ranger, Becky G as Trini the Yellow Ranger, and Ludi Lin as Zack the Black Ranger. Elizabeth Banks also stars in the movie as the main villain Rita Repulsa

INDIANA JONES 5 Will Not Be The Last Film in The Franchise

0
0

Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford are currently in the process of developing a fifth Indiana Jones film for Lucasfilm and Disney. I couldn't be more excited to see Jones back in action and embarking on another adventure. As we all suspected, Indiana Jones 5 won't be the last film to be made in the franchise! Disney is planning on keeping it alive for years to come. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Disney Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Bob Iger talked about the Indiana Jones franchise and explained that part five just won't be a one-off:

“Not like Star Wars, but we hope… right now, we’re focused on a reboot, or a continuum and then a reboot of some sort. Well, we’ll bring him back, then we have to figure out what comes next. That’s what I mean. It’s not really a reboot, it’s a boot — a reboot. I don’t know. We [got] Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones in the film. But then what’s the direction? I’ve had discussions about what the direction is, [but] I don’t want to get into it. I don’t think it reaches the scale of the universe of Star Wars, but I see making more. It won’t be just a one-off.”

There's a lot of cryptic wording in that statement. But if Disney is looking to push the Indiana Jones franchise further, it could include multiple sequels that follow the original saga as well as a universe expansion of prequels and spin-offs that could involve other characters. I think it would be cool to see a Henry Jones Sr. spin-off film that follows the adventures of Indy's dad, who was previously played by Sean Connery. I guess another thing that could happen is that introduce a new character that can take on the mantle of Indiana Jones in future films.

Spielberg recently talked about the character, explaining that he didn't plan on killing him off:

“I think this one is straight down the pike for the fans. The one thing I will tell you is I’m not killing off Harrison [Ford] at the end of it.”

I guess there's a reason for that. Disney and Lucasfilm may want him to come back for some more adventures, but it's yet to be seen how many adventures that will be. I'm curious to find out what exactly Disney is planning to do with the franchise. One thing is for sure, and that's that Ford is excited to jump back into the role. In a previous interview, he said:

“The opportunity to work with Steven again on this character which has brought pleasure to so many… Not to mention me. It’s fun, it’s great fun to play this character. It’s great fun to work with Steven, I’m looking forward to it.”

Are you excited about the possibility of Indiana Jones being blown up into a big franchise with multiple films? Or are you happy with the slow rate of producing sequels? With Disney and Lucasfilm leading the charge, it makes sense that they would want to pump this adventure franchise up. As long as they don't bring back his kid, Mutt, I'm good.

Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall will be back to produce Indiana Jones 5 and writer David Koepp (Jurassic Park, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull) is on board to write the script. The movie is set for a July 19, 2019 release date.

More ROGUE ONE Character Details Revealed

0
0

Following EW's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story cover from earlier this morning, the outlet has released some new character details about the people who will appear in the new prequel film. Some of this information leaked about a month ago, but this report provides confirmation and even more specifics about the characters we'll see in the new movie. Let's break it down, shall we?

First up is Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones). She's described as having a knowledge of the galactic underworld that the Rebel Alliance is desperate to utilize.

“She’s got a checkered past,” says Lucasfilm president and Rogue One producer Kathleen Kennedy. “She has been detained [by the Rebellion] and is being given an opportunity to be useful. And by being useful, it may commute her sentence… She’s a real survivor. She becomes a kind of Joan of Arc in the story.”

Next is Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna). He's an intelligence officer meant to counteract Erso's explosive nature, and he's seen plenty of action on the battlefield. He's described as "committed, steady, and practical."

“He conveys a fair amount of experience and the reality of what it’s like to do this every day, to try to figure out how to resist the Empire effectively and intelligently,” says Kiri Hart, Lucasfilm’s chief of story development. “It’s not easy.”

Then we have Chirrut Imwe (Donnie Yen). Pronounced "chi-RUT," the character isn't a Jedi but he subscribes to their belief system and "has used his spirituality to overcome his blindness and become a formidable warrior."

“Chirrut falls into the category of being a warrior monk,” says Kennedy. “He very much still believes in everything the Jedi were about.” He maintains that belief even though the Jedi are no longer there to protect the galaxy. As director Gareth Edwards puts it: "This idea that magical beings are going to come and save us is going away, and it’s up to normal, everyday people to take a stand to stop evil from dominating the world.”

Chirrut's buddy is Baze Malbus (Jiang Wen). What a perfect Star Wars character name, huh? He's loaded up with armor and his relationship to Chirrut is likened to that of Sancho Panza to Don Quixote.

“He understands Chirrut’s spiritual centeredness, but he doesn’t necessarily support it,” Kennedy says. Baze goes along with this Force business because “it’s what his friend deeply believes,” she adds.

Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed) is the Rebel squad's lead pilot, who has a short-tempered but some mad aerial skills.

“He flies a lot of cargo, one of his key jobs,” Kennedy says. “And he tends to be a little tense, a little volatile, but everybody in the group really relies on his technical skills.”

K-2SO is a tough, no-nonsense droid seeking redemption for his past mistakes, played in motion capture by Alan Tudyk. Edwards refers to him as "the antithesis of C-3PO."

“Kaytoo is a little bit like Chewbacca's personality in a droid’s body,” Edwards says. “He doesn’t give a s--- about what you think. He doesn't fully check himself before he says things and does things. He just speaks the truth.”

Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen) is Jyn's estranged father, a scientist compared to nuclear icon Robert Oppenheimer who has information both the Empire and the Rebellion want.

In addition to the already-confirmed appearance of Darth Vader, the Empire will be led by Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn), an intelligent, effective villain attempting to gain power through political intrigue. His main intention is to "use his squad of Deathtroopers to pulverize the Rebel uprising and ascend into the Emperor’s graces – while hopefully avoiding the wrath of his enforcer, Darth Vader."

Forest Whitaker's character is being kept under wraps until later today, but the outlet hints that Star Wars completists will recognize his past immediately when we find out his name. Stay tuned for more on this later this afternoon.

Also worth noting here: in a big interview with THR, Disney CEO Bob Iger commented about the Rogue One reshoots:

I've seen Rogue One. I've seen not only an edited picture but I've seen significantly more footage than was even in that picture. That's actually going to be a fine film.

While I certainly didn't expect him to say anything approaching, "That movie is in serious trouble," some fans may read into him describing the movie as "fine" as opposed to a more exciting adjective. Take from all of this what you will, but despite the rumors, I'm very excited about this film.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on December 16, 2016.

Character Names and More Details Leak For Syfy Show KRYPTON

0
0

We have more information for you regarding Syfy's Superman prequel Krypton via TV Line. We already knew the series would be starring Seg-El, who is the father of Jor-El and the grandfather of Superman. Today we learned that Superman's great-grandfather Ter-El and his great-great-grandfather Val-El will also be in the show. Val-El apparently alludes death by escaping into the Phantom Zone, so that's interesting...

Other characters of note show that the House of Zod will be present, with the character Alura Zod making an appearance. We also learn that Dev-Em will be in the show. For those not familiar, Dev-Em becomes the rival to Superboy and eventually transitions into a good guy in the 30th century on Earth.

I'm really curious as to how this show will turn out! Right now I'm hoping I'll be pleasantly surprised, but it seems like a tall order for Syfy to fill. Then again, they surprised me earlier this year with The Expanse, so I do have some hope reserved for the series.

JEEPERS CREEPERS May Be Based On An Episode of UNSOLVED MYSTERIES

0
0

Thanks to this video by Marko Polo, I may have trouble sleeping tonight. Turns out there is strong evidence to support the idea that the movie Jeepers Creepers was based on a true murder that happened in Michigan in 1991. If you believe the video, the film is based on the story of Dennis Depue, who murdered his wife Mary and then fled the state. The event was covered by Unsolved Mysteries and Depue was caught the night the episode aired after his girlfriend and friends reported him to authorities. Depue ended up committing suicide in his car after the pursuit came to a halt.

What makes the stories similar is the way the killers were discovered, which involves investigating an abandoned building. Why the hell anyone would do that in real life is beyond me, but I guess it had a happy ending in Depue getting caught so all's well that ends well. Thanks to Bloody Disgusting for giving me nightmares!

KEEPING UP WITH THE JONESES Trailer: Jon Hamm and Gal Gadot Kick Ass as a Spy Couple

0
0

The idea of seeing Jon Hamm and Gal Gadot teaming up as a pair of spies sounds pretty damn intriguing to me...but add Zach Galifianakis and Isla Fisher as their goofy neighbors who are trying to figure out their secrets, and it suddenly becomes a different movie entirely. Instead of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Superbad director Greg Mottola's new comedy Keeping Up With The Joneses looks like something more along the lines of the Tina Fey/Steve Carell movie Date Night.

Motolla is a solid director with a nice resume, and I'm guessing he didn't have any problem pulling some excellent comedic moments out of this talented cast. We'll see how it all comes together when the movie hits theaters on October 21, but in the meantime, check out the trailer and let us know what you think in the comments.

BROOM-HILDA Rights Purchased For Big Screen Adaptation

0

What can I say? This is like reporting that Ziggy is getting his own movie. It's not often that comic strip characters transition to the big screen, and even more rare for one as obscure as overweight alcoholic witch Broom-Hilda. Granted, a lot of cities do still run the comic strip, but I don't believe it has nearly the reach of Garfield or Marmaduke. Still, Deadline reports the rights to the character have been purchased by producers Gilbert Adler and Jason A. Rosenberg, who are hoping to kickstart a film franchise.

Adler is the same guy who was behind the successful run of Tales From The Crypt on HBO and has produced films like Tales From The Crypt on HBO and has produced films like Superman Returns and Constantine. In regards to the film he wishes to make, Adler had this to say:

When you look at the comic strip, it looks like maybe it’s for a young audience, but we look at it differently. This is about a witch who has varying powers, but has a problem with weight. And if you look around, doesn’t everyone? And we thought, well that’s it.

Adler went on to say he'd like to create a film that's both for a wide audience as well as heartwarming. For whatever reason, I can't stop picturing Melissa McCarthy dressed as a witch.

I'll be honest, I had to look Broom-Hilda up as it's been a good while since I've read the Sunday comics. I found this cartoon, which seems a little raunchy for its time, but it has its moments. Check it out below.

GAME OF THRONES Star Rejects That Sansa Pregnancy Fan Theory

0
0

Since this season of Game of Thrones has, in many storylines, moved past the events of George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire novels, an insane number of fan theories have popped up online and gained traction as some fans desperately grasp to figure out future plot points. One of these was a theory about how when Ramsay Bolton raped Sansa last season, he impregnated her and she's been carrying his child within her ever since.

Devotees of this theory have pointed to several things as "proof" that they're correct: lines in earlier episodes about how Sansa can still feel what Ramsay did to her, Sansa sewing herself a new dress, Sansa not eating the food at Castle Black, etc. And in last week's "Battle of The Bastards," Ramsay uttered a line that those fans latched onto as the latest example of a hint of proof: "You can’t kill me, I’m part of you now." Now, thankfully, one of the show's actors — Liam Cunningham, who plays Ser Davos Seaworth — has spoken out and rejected this theory in an interview with The Huffington Post:

“Unless [Ramsay's] got one of those ‘Game of Thrones’ pregnancy sticks, he’s not gonna know,” said Cunningham. “I think, I would imagine, it’s open to whatever you want it to be, but I think he’s saying he’s put himself into her head. That’s what I took from it. She’s never gonna get rid of him because of what he’s done to her. He knows what he’s done to her. It was off camera, what he was doing to her, but we all know what it was. But I think he’s placed himself in her soul for all the wrong reasons.”

Over at Vanity Fair, Joanna Robinson has an excellent breakdown of why this theory doesn't hold any water:

Let’s apply a little logic: at the end of Season 5, Sansa took a huge tumble from the walls of Winterfell, then plunged her traumatized body into an icy Northern river. Let’s say a fetus did survive that. Even accounting for the sped-up travel time on the show, it’s now been months since Theon left her side. (It takes a long time to travel from Winterfell to the Iron Islands to Volantis to Meereen. Here’s a map; see for yourself.) Even if she’s a late shower, after all this time, she would certainly know if she were pregnant. And, given Sansa’s boiling hatred for Ramsay, I’m pretty sure she would have availed herself of the Westerosi version of the morning-after pill: Moon Tea.

Sounds like this is one fan theory that can finally be put to bed. What are your favorite/most ridiculous fan theories about Game of Thrones this season?

LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE Gets Teaser Posters and Shrine of The Silver Monkey

0

I'm still in shock that this is a thing. A movie about Legends of The Hidden Temple has to be near the top of the list for things '90s kids never knew they wanted but are now getting! Today Collider has shared three posters promoting the film. See them all and continue below:

lotht1.jpg
lotht2.jpg
lotht3.jpg

Of course, we have THE SHRINE OF THE SILVER MONKEY on display in the first one. I never understood how difficult it was to construct a 3-piece figure, although having 90 seconds to get through a temple would be rough.

We also see the pendants used to ward off the temple guards and OLMEC himself on their own posters. Here's an official synopsis for the TV movie:

The Legends of the Hidden Temple TV movie follows three siblings who break away from a lackluster tour in a jungle, finding themselves immersed in a high-stakes adventure comprised of obstacles that they must complete in order to escape alive. The TV movie will feature many elements from the original game show including: Olmec, a talking head who greets cast members Noah, Sadie and Dudley, and launches them on the adventure of a lifetime; The Steps of Knowledge, the entrance to the temple and launching pad for the mission; and appearances from a green monkey, red jaguar, and silver snakes, among others.

It sounds unbelievably corny, but I don't have to pay for a movie ticket to see it, so I'm in! Who else is pumped for this movie?

PIXELS Honest Trailer Rips Adam Sandler Apart

0
0

There's a subset of online writing happening right now where people write hot takes and thinkpieces about movies they haven't even seen in order to get clicks based on the larger points the movie makes, or the premise, or whatever the case happens to be. This is a crappy tactic — if you want to have any sort of meaningful conversation about a movie, you should at least take the time to watch it. I have no intention of having a meaningful conversation about Pixels, so I'm glad to say I skipped seeing this one altogether. At a certain point, my time becomes more valuable than being able to say I've sat through a certain movie, especially if I don't plan to write about it or if it's a movie I'm almost certainly going to outright despise. Most of Adam Sandler's recent filmography falls into that category for me, and considering the absolute spanking this Honest Trailer gives the movie (and particularly Sandler himself), I probably made the right choice with this one.

HBO's '70s Rock Series VINYL Cancelled

0
0

HBO has decided they will not be moving forward with the second season of their new series Vinyl after all, Variety reported today. The show was initially renewed for a second season shortly after its premiere, but it appears that decision has been nixed after replacing Terence Winter as showrunner.

Ultimately the decision came down to money, and the budget for revamping the show in its second season was too high for HBO execs' likings. To be fair, I'm sure the show already had a huge budget recreating New York City to its '70s glory, paying for Winter to be the showrunner, and all the music licensing and likeness fees that had to be shelled out.

I liked the show, but the two-hour premiere was far too long for my friends and wife who tried to watch alongside me. It's a shame because I was really looking for Ray Romano to get a win and he was awesome in that show! Hopefully HBO does right by him.

Forest Whitaker's STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE Surprise CLONE WARS Character Revealed

0
0

Lucasfilm has revealed that Forest Whitaker will be playing Saw Gerrera in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. If you're a fan of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, this should really get your blood pumping with excitement! You will find a full photo of him in costume below along with some additional information.

Saw Gerrera made his debut in the universe on The Clone Wars animated series and he was featured in Season 5, Episode 2, which was titled "A War on Two Fronts." In the show, he was a young man on the planet Onderon who unleashed a guerrilla war on the droid army of Separatists who took over his world. He also fought alongside Anakin Skywalker with his sister Steela before Anakin succumbed to the dark side and became Darth Vader. Saw and Steela were part of an insurgent group who were being trained by Anakin, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Captain Rex, and the padawan Ahsoka Tano.

How freakin' awesome is that!? I absolutely love that Lucasfilm brought a character to life in the film from the animated series. In Rogue One, Gerrera is described by Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy as a "battered veteran who leads a band of Rebel extremists. He's on the fringe of the Rebel Alliance. Even [they] are a little concerned about him." EW went on to say:

Whitaker’s Saw Gerrera is bulkier, more battle-hardened with the years, and maybe a little shellshocked. He has continued to fight; and, as he suggested in the trailer, he has become something — and it’s not quite a hero. Rather, he’s a man who has tried to do the right thing by occasionally doing questionable things.

Kennedy also added that Gerrera is an ally to the Rebel squad in Rogue One, but he’s not really one of them, “He’s off on his own.” Kiri Hart, Lucasfilm’s head of story development, also chimed in with some information, explaining:

"The Death Star is the event that sort of pulls everybody [from various Rebel groups] into a place of unity, and prior to that it’s a little bit more divided. Who are at the different ends of that spectrum?"

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is in theaters on December 16, 2016. For more information on the film and to catch up with more recent news involving details on several of the other characters we'll see in the movie, click here.

JUSTICE LEAGUE Adds GAME OF THRONES Actor Kristofer Hivju as a King of Atlantis

0
0

Kristofer Hivju's work as wildling warrior Tormund Giantsbane has been one of the most enjoyable elements of Game of Thrones for the past few years, so it's cool to see him branching out and getting some big opportunities because of his work on the show. He'll appear in the upcoming Fast 8, and now The Tracking Board reports that he'll also have a role in Zack Snyder's Justice League.

The outlet says that Hivju will play "an ancient Atlantean king who is in possession of one of the three alien Mother Boxes," one of which we saw the villainous Steppenwolf and Lex Luthor messing with in a deleted scene from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. It sounds like this movie will contain different eras of Atlantean residents, with Hivju playing an "ancient" king and Willem Dafoe's Vulko being from a generation older than Jason Momoa's Aquaman. If he survives the events of Justice League, I wouldn't be surprised to see Hivju's mysterious character pop up again in James Wan's Aquaman solo movie.

Comic readers: which Atlantean king do you think Hivju will be playing here? Justice League hits theaters on November 17, 2017.

Editor Luc Bergeron is back with Space Story 2: Suicide Mission, a nice mashup sequel to a project he created last month. This one concentrates on the emotional turmoil of movie characters being out in space and often having to sacrifice themselves for their mission, and it's done in the same editing style as his previous project which creates a loose connection between movies like Star Wars, Apollo 13, Interstellar, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Star Trek, and many more. George Lucas Will Be Creatively Involved With INDIANA JONES 5

0
0

Distressing news for anyone who didn't appreciate Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: Steven Spielberg says George Lucas will be creatively involved with the upcoming Indiana Jones 5. At the press junket for The BFG, Spielberg spoke with reporters about it and ComicBookResources has his quotes:

“George is going to be an executive producer on it with me. Of course — I would never make an ‘Indiana Jones’ film without George Lucas. That would be insane.”

The director also clarified that "George will be inputted in it," so it sounds like Lucas will have more of a say here than we initially thought. When Lucas's name didn't appear on the initial press release announcing this sequel a while ago, I (naively, it turns out) got excited at the prospect of seeing an Indy movie that didn't involve Lucas's ideas. Spielberg has blamed the worst aspects of Crystal Skull on Lucas, and basically admitted he can't say no to his friend when it comes to this franchise — even to terrible ideas like inserting aliens in the mix or having Mutt Williams swinging through the jungle on vines next to monkeys.

With Lucas creatively involved and Crystal Skull screenwriter David Koepp on script duty, I'm now drastically lowering my expectations for Indiana Jones 5. I love this franchise, so I'm obviously hoping it still turns out to be a fantastic movie, but setting low expectations seems like the right move at this stage.
