Jar Jar Binks Invades JURASSIC PARK in Funny Short

0
0

Imagine Jar Jar Binks in the world of Jurassic Park. It would be a disaster, right?! Better yet, imagine if he was the creature the main characters were running from! Helene Hunding Harmens imagines this world, and although it's far too short for my liking, it's still pretty amazing! I would love to see a longer version of this!

Wolverine Was Originally Going To Have a Much Bigger Part in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE; See a Funny R-Rated Fake Trailer

X-Men: Apocalypse was number one at the box office this past weekend, so it's fair to assume a lot of you went to see it. (I wasn't crazy about it, but I'd be interested to hear what you thought in the comments.) It's not a spoiler to say that Wolverine is in the movie because 20th Century Fox ruined that surprised by showing him at the end of one of their trailers, but I'd say this article contains extremely light spoilers about the basic plot of the movie, so tread lightly.

CinemaBlend spoke with writer/producer Simon Kinberg about Wolverine's role in the movie, and he revealed that Logan was initially intended to be much more than just a cameo:

There was always a notion that we wanted Wolverine to be in the movie. We wanted to find a way to feature him in the film, partly because Bryan [Singer] and I love Hugh [Jackman] so much. We love the character, obviously, and he’s such a huge part of the franchise. There were a lot of iterations of how Wolverine would enter and exit the movie. There was a version when he was going to come in at the midpoint of the film and be like the drill sergeant for the kids and take over as their leader. And we felt like that stepped on Jen[nifer Lawrence]’s role in the movie and becoming their leader.

I think that original version might have actually been better than what we got because A) the whole Weapon X departure felt like a way to force the characters to run into Wolverine, and at least it would have resulted in something bigger if it played out that way, and B) despite Jennifer Lawrence's star power, it just doesn't make a ton of sense for Mystique to be the one leading the X-Men. What do you think?

Finally, take a look at this funny fake trailer for an R-rated version of X-Men: Apocalypse in which 20th Century Fox changes the movie in order to capitalize on the success of Deadpool:

Joker Appears in Arabian Snickers Commercial

I'm pretty upset this isn't a commercial in the United States! Snickers Arabia did a commercial featuring The Joker back in 2013, and it's pretty much incredible! Honestly, the costume work is the best I've seen on film to be quite honest! Below you'll find the English version, but you need to check out the original below that for a hilarious laugh from Arabian Joker.

This is Super Bowl commercial material right here!

Video: Andy Samberg Sneaks Jimmy Fallon's Name Into Every POPSTAR Press Interview

Andy Samberg surprised Jimmy Fallon with a surprise on The Tonight Show recently. During the junket for his upcoming movie Popstar, he managed to get the late night's host name in every interview he did for the film, and the compilation is pretty hilarious! I can't believe no one picked up on it! Great stuff.

You Can Now Purchase STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Stormtrooper Armor

If making costumes isn't your thing, but cosplay is, you'll be a big fan of this. Upscale movie replica store Anovos has made their First Order Stormtrooper line from Star Wars: The Force Awakens available for purchase. Slashfilm notes it'll set you back quite a bit depending on how you want to receive your armor. The company will assemble it for you for about $6,000, but if that's too steep, you can order a kit and assemble it yourself for closer to $2,000.

Still a bit too rich for my blood, but I'm not in the cosplay scene. Check out some pics below, and if the price is right, purchase here. Keep in mind this is for pre-order and the actual product will not be shipping until September!

Dwayne Johnson Officially Set to Star in Shane Black’s DOC SAVAGE

0
0

We’ve known for awhile that Dwayne Johnson is working with Shane Black on Doc Savage, but the actor has made an official announcement on his Instagram account that he will star in the film that he’s also producing.

Black said a couple of months ago that he wanted Johnson to star in the film, and the filmmaker obviously got his wish. Savage was a 1930s pulp hero popularized on radio, film, and TV. Savage’s real name is Clark Savage, Jr., and he’s a physician, surgeon, scientist, adventurer, inventor, explorer, researcher, and a musician. He's basically every amazing adventure hero such as James Bond, Indiana Jones, and Batman rolled into one. This is an awesome character that has embarked several incredible adventures, and it’s going to be so cool to see him brought to life on the big screen. This could be such an awesome franchise, and I’m incredibly excited to see where Black and Johnson take it.

This is what Johnson had to say over Memorial Day weekend:

It's OFFICIAL: For all comic book fans you already know the world's first superhero (pre-dating Superman) is the "Man of Bronze" himself Clark "Doc" Savage.
Want to thank my bud director/writer Shane Black and his writing team Anthony Bagarozzi and Chuck Mondry for flying in from LA and sitting with me and our @sevenbucksprod's producer @hhgarcia41 on this Memorial Day weekend to chop up creative and break story on this very cool project.
Comic book fans around the world know that the cool thing about "Doc" Savage is that he's the inspiration for Superman. First name Clark, called "Man of Bronze", retreats to his "Fortress of Solitude" in the Arctic etc etc.
Doc was physically and mentally trained from birth by his father and a team of scientists to become the perfect human specimen with a genius level intellect. His heightened senses are beyond comprehension. He can even identify a women's perfume from half a mile away. He is literally the master of everything.
But here's the #1 reason I'm excited to become Doc Savage.. HE'S A F*CKING HILARIOUS WEIRDO!
Confidently, yet innocently he has zero social graces whatsoever due to his upbringing so every interaction he has with someone is direct, odd, often uncomfortable and amazingly hilarious.
After speaking for hours w/ Shane Black I can see why the creator of Superman took only the best parts of Doc Savage and leaving the "weirdo" part behind. But to us, it's that "weirdo" part that makes Clark "Doc" Savage dope! Can't wait to sink my teeth into this one of a kind character. #ItsOfficial #WorldsFirstSuperhero #GeniusIntellect #PhysicalSpecimen #FnLoveableWeirdo #ManOfBronze #DocSavage

For those of you not familiar with Doc Savage, a team of scientists were assembled by his father, and they deliberately trained his mind and body to near-superhuman abilities almost from birth, giving him great strength and endurance, a photographic memory, a mastery of the martial arts, and vast knowledge of the sciences. Doc is also a master of disguise and an excellent imitator of voices. "He rights wrongs and punishes evildoers." Author Lester Dent described his creation as a mix of Sherlock Holmes' deductive abilities, Tarzan's outstanding physical abilities, Craig Kennedy's scientific education, and Abraham Lincoln's goodness. Dent described Doc Savage as manifesting "Christliness." Doc's character and worldview are displayed in his oath, which goes:

"Let me strive every moment of my life to make myself better and better, to the best of my ability, that all may profit by it. Let me think of the right and lend all my assistance to those who need it, with no regard for anything but justice. Let me take what comes with a smile, without loss of courage. Let me be considerate of my country, of my fellow citizens and my associates in everything I say and do. Let me do right to all, and wrong no man."

I can’t wait to see this!

Dark and Murderous LEGO Photo Art by Juhamatti Vahdersalo

I’ve got a series of photos here taken by Finnish photographer Juhamatti Vahdersalo that takes LEGO to an incredibly dark place. These photos basically portray a Murderous LEGO serial killer. These are definitely some of the most twisted LEGO photos I’ve seen, but they also have a dark sense of humor. The creator of the series says:

“I like to play with discordant feelings and I thought putting familiar toys to dark scenarios will make you look and think twice about it :).”

As you’ll see, he managed to pull that off.

Dan Aykroyd Says the New GHOSTBUSTERS Film Is Better Than the First Two

0
0

Dan Aykroyd has seen an early test screening of Paul Feig’s new Ghostbusters movie, and it seems like he absolutely loved it! In a brief review that he posted on whosay, the original Ghostbuster boldly exclaimed that it’s better than the first two original movies. Seriously! This is what he said:

"As originator of the original: Saw test screening of new movie. Apart from brilliant, genuine performances from the cast both female and male, it has more laughs and more scares than the first 2 films plus Bill Murray is in it! As one of millions of man-fans and Ray Stantz, I'm paying to see that and bringing all my friends!"

I can’t really tell if he’s full of shit or not because I haven’t seen the movie yet. But judging from what I’ve seen in the trailers, it’s hard to believe that what he’s saying is true. I think the movie will provide some fun entertainment, but have more laughs than the first two films? That’s just a hard pill for me to swallow.

It’s not like Aykroyd is going to come out and say the movie sucks, though! The guy has a huge stake in the franchise. It’s his baby, and if it succeeds and makes money, then so does Aykroyd. It's in his best interest to support it. We’ll just have to wait and see what fans and audiences think after the film is released this summer.

The movie stars Melissa McCarthy as Abby Yates, Kate McKinnon as Jillian Holtzman, Kristen Wiig as Erin Gilbert, Leslie Jones as Patty Tolan, and Chris Hemsworth as their secretary. All of the surviving original Ghostbusters are confirmed to have cameos in the film as well.

Ghostbusters is due to be released in theaters July 15th, 2016.

Slick Looking Stormtrooper-Inspired BMW M6 Car with No Leg Room

Check out this custom designed Stormtrooper-inspired BMW M6. It was created by Vilner, and as you can see it has an incredibly slick look, but as you’ll also see, the backseat was built for Stormtroopers who don’t have any legs. I know some people will be like, “it’s just a white BMW!” But here are the specs that point out all of the custom additions:

Vilner, a Bulgaria-based tuner, has given a 2015 BMW M6, complete with its 4.4L V8 that generates 560-horsepower, a Star Wars Stormtrooper makeover. Everything from the new hood and front fascia, to the wheels and fenders, received a pearl white paint job that blends in seamlessly with any of Vader's minions. Inside, you'll find brown / white leather, charcoal suede and lots of carbon fiber.

It's cool to look at, but I'd never buy it. My family and friends would have to put their legs somewhere!

First Concept Art and Details Revealed for Pixar’s CARS 3

first-concept-art-and-details-revealed-for-pixars-cars-3

There really hasn’t been much news on Cars 3 since Pixar first announced it, but thanks to USA Today we have some new information on the series. They also released a couple pieces of concept art featuring a new character named Cruz Ramirez.

The newspaper offered up a bit of information on the plot of the film explaining that Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) “will need help to compete in the increasingly high-tech racing world of the upcoming Cars 3. That’s where the new trainer comes in — the sleek, yellow Cruz Ramirez is a young Hispanic female race car who instructs Lightning McQueen, as this exclusive concept art depicts during a beach run.”

McQueen is being trained for the Florida 500, which is basically like the Daytona 500. Cars 3 director Brian Fee went on to talk about the new character in the story, saying:

“Cruz Ramirez is trying to figure out how this old dog can learn some new tricks. Think of where he’d be in his career now in real time. (McQueen) is not an old man, but he’s one of the older cars on the circuit with new rookies coming in. People start to wonder and ask when he might retire.”

Fee goes on to reveal another character named Jackson Storm who McQueen will be going up against. He’s a young rookie looking to make his mark in the sport, but McQueen isn’t going to make it easy for him. Here’s what the director had to say:

“Jackson Storm is the face of these rookies who have come onto the scene. And McQueen is in a position where his entire racing generation is being pushed out. But it’s too early to be shown the door right now.
“Everyone can relate to feeling like someone is at their heels, that they might be a little outdated in something they used to be very good at, feeling an expiration date. And knowing you need someone to help you get a second chance.”

I’ve never really been a big fan of the Cars movies, so I can’t say that I’m looking forward to this sequel. The studio is just soaking as much cash as they can out of this franchise.

Other characters set to return to the next film includes Mater (Larry the Cable Guy), Sally Carrera (Bonnie Hunt), and Ramone (Cheech Marin).

Cars 3 is coming to theaters on June 16th, 2017.

Hayley Atwell Will Do Whatever it Takes to Make AGENT CARTER Season 3 Happen

As you know, a couple of weeks ago we learned that ABC had canceled Agent Carter. Fans of the series were not happy about this at all, and even started a petition to try to get Netflix to save the series from death and give it a third season.

Actress Hayley Atwell recently attended MagicCon, and during a panel at the event she was asked if she would be up for a third season of Agent Carter on Netflix. Her reply was an enthusiastic yes. Here are a couple of tweets from an Agent Carter fan who was in attendance:

So that’s awesomely encouraging! It doesn’t mean the series is going to happen, but if Netflix and Marvel did end up striking a deal, it’s great to know that Atwell is willing to come back tp reprise her role. The actress went on to say that she would do whatever it takes to make another season of Agent Carter happen.

Atwell just joined the new ABC series Conviction, which seems like it will be a solid series. If it turns out to be a success, she’ll definitely have to carve out some time in her schedule to keep the adventures of Peggy Carter going.

I truly do hope that Marvel and Netflix are able to save the series. Carter is just such a great character and the setting is so cool. It’d be an absolute shame if this was really the end of it.

Researchers Are Now Teaching Robots to Feel and React to Pain

0

When it comes to robot and AI technology, scientists and researchers as doing things that the movies have warned us not to do. First we have researchers pushing and kicking robots. It looks like they are abusing the damn things in a video that you can watch here

Now a group of German researchers are experimenting with an “artificial robot nervous system” that will teach robots how to feel pain and then react to it. Really?! You’re going to inflict pain on a robot, and then you want it to react?! Are these people crazy!? This is the main ingredient to a freakin’ robot uprising. That’s obviously not how they see it, though. Researcher Johannes Kuehn told Spectrum IEEE explains:

“Pain is a system that protects us. When we evade from the source of pain, it helps us not get hurt.”

So they believe that robots can use these sensations as a way of protection. They also see it as a system that can help protect humans when more robots start working alongside them. They want to make sure a system is in place that may be able to prevent accidents. Haddadin and Kuehn wrote in a paper that was presented at the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) in Stockholm, and it says:

“A robot needs to be able to detect and classify unforeseen physical states and disturbances, rate the potential damage they may cause to it, and initiate appropriate countermeasures, i.e., reflexes.”

You can watch a video below of a robotic arm that has a BioTac tactile fingertip sensor. This can sense changes in both pressure and temperature. What you’ll see in the video is test of it reacting to different levels of sensations and pain.

I don’t care what their intentions are, this isn’t going to end well for the human race. The Terminator is on its way to becoming a reality.

Rumor: A Sequel To INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US Is On The Way

First Look at Harry Potter and His Family in HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD

0

first-look-at-harry-potter-and-his-family-in-harry-potter-and-the-cursed-child1

The story of Harry Potter will continue in a new story from J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany. The story is called Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and it's being developed as a stage production in London. The script for that play will also be published so that fans around the world can read it.

Today we have out first look at the Potter family 19 years after the events of The Deathly Hallows. We've got photos of Harry, who is being played by Jamie Parker, his wife Ginny, who is being played by Poppy Miller, and their son Albus, who is being played by Sam Clemmett. They really nailed the looks of Harry and Ginny! Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is one week out from its first preview performance.

When talking about Parker's portrayal as Harry in an interview with Pottermore, Rowling says “There's a kind of relief in watching him, he gets it so right.” Parker went on to talk about the outfit Harry is wearing, explaining:

“He’s wearing a suit because he’s a Ministry man, but he’s not just a bloke in a suit, that’s way too anonymous. And it sounds strange but we talked around a lot of different suits, because there are suits and suits, and a lot of them we put on and we went ‘Mmm it’s just not right.’
“With all the character’s costumes we want them to be instantly familiar when people see them, so that people feel like the story’s safe in our hands, and that we’re taking that responsibility seriously.”

He goes on to talk about the recognizable features of Harry such as the scar and the glasses and what it feels like to be playing such an iconic character:

“They’re just iconic,. These are stories that people have lived with for their whole lives, they’ve grown up with and now they’re adults re-joining the tale, picking it up where they left off and I’m one of them. In a sense you don’t need more than the scar and the glasses, you kind of go, ‘there it is’ and I don’t really know how to put it into words, it’s just immeasurably exciting and I can’t wait to show it to people.
“It’s a unique gig in the sense that you have seven volumes of backstory that you get to bring on with you. And we were all very keen to make sure that the first time you see Harry it just feels right.”

Pottermore will reveal more photos featuring other characters from Harry Potter and the Cursed Child throughout the rest of the week. Here's the synopsis for the upcoming two-part play that was previously released:

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

I'd really love to see this play so hopefully one day it makes its way over to the U.S. What do you think of the looks of these three characters?

Uh-Oh, Disney Is Reportedly Not Happy with ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY

uh-oh-disney-is-reportedly-not-happy-with-rogue-one-a-star-wars-story

I'm extremely excited about Gareth Edwards' Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Judging from what I've heard and seen from the film, it looks freakin' awesome! But apparently there are some issues behind-the-scenes, and according to a recent report from Page Six, Disney isn't happy with what they've seen. In fact, the report says that the film is "in crisis" and that sources tell them it "will have to go into expensive reshoots over the summer." They quote their source as saying:

“The execs at Disney are not happy with the movie, and ‘Rogue One’ will have to go back into four weeks of expensive reshoots in July.”

That would really suck if this actually turns out to be true, and it's very disheartening to hear. This isn't the kind of news you want to hear about a movie that you're excited about! It's normal for a film to have reshoots, especially for big movies like this. Even The Force Awakens went through reshoots. But the fact that it will be four weeks of "expensive" reshoots seems to be raising some eyebrows. I would think any kind of reshoots for a big budget film would be expensive. I'm not sure if four weeks is a normal length of time for reshoots, though.

We aren't getting the full story here, and I personally don't think this whole reshoot thing is as bad as they initial report makes it sound. At least, that's my hope! I'd hate for all of this stuff about Disney not being happy about the film to be true. Only time will tell. Another inside source told them:

“The filmmaking team and the studio always anticipated additional shooting and second unit work to make the film the absolute best it can be, and the actors were aware there would be additional shooting. Coming off ‘The Force Awakens,’ there’s an incredibly high bar for this movie and we have a responsibility to the franchise and to the fans to deliver the best possible movie we can.”

The film takes place before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope and tells the story of unlikely heroes who have united to steal plans to the dreaded Death Star. The actors in this film include Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, and Forest Whitaker.

There have been a lot of rumored details leaking out for the film involving the story and characters. You can catch up on all of that stuff here.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be released on December 16th, 2016.

Lawrence Kasdan on Han Solo Spinoff Film, Confirms It Will Start Shooting in January

Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller are currently preparing the upcoming Han Solo movie for production. The script for that film was written by Lawrence Kasdan and his son Jon. As you know, Kasdan has a long history with writing Star Wars films, so it gives a lot of us fans hope that he's given us one of the best possible early stories for Han Solo.

Kasdan was recently awarded with the first Icon Award for Contributions to the Cinematic Arts at the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival.  Before he was given the award, he participated in a Q&A panel in which he covered several Star Wars topics. During that panel, he talked about the Han Solo standalone film and confirmed that it would start shooting in January 2017.

Here's a transcript of how the conversation went down, via Atlanta Business Chronicle:

Q: What can you tell us about the Han Solo project?
Lawrence Kasdan: Young Han! (Laughs)
Q: For the fans, generally speaking, should they be excited?
Lawrence Kasdan: Oh, I think so! You know, Chris Miller and Phil Lord are going to direct it. They’re great, funny and imaginative and we’ve had a great time together. My son [Jon] and I wrote the script and Chris and Phil are working on it and they’re about to move to London to start shooting in January. And it should be fun.
Q: 2018 is the release date?
Lawrence Kasdan: Yes. They’re actually scheduled for May. The [other Star Wars films] are falling on Christmas — Rogue One and Episode 9. Han will come before Episode 9.

Alden Ehrenreich is set to play Han Solo and even though we don't know any story details for the film yet, we do know that it is set before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope and that his friend Chewbacca will be included. I'm looking forward to seeing what these talented individuals do with this iconic character. The movie will be released in May of 2018.

Video: Dog Freaks Out Playing With a BB-8

Dogs are strange creatures. Just about everything they do is reckless, but at the same time cute! Case in point, look at this Lab responding to a BB-8. He's half horrified, half entranced, and, in the end, we see a decapitation. No joke, that BB-8 toy is around $100, but I'm sure I'd let my dog get away with it too. Dogs will be dogs!

Here Are All of The STAR TREK BEYOND Character Posters

0
0

I thought the first trailer for Star Trek Beyond was fine — nothing special, but decent enough for a teaser trailer. But then I saw the newest trailer, and I was pretty blown away by how great it looks. It's a complete reversal from that first marketing attempt, and the movie has gone from something I was mostly ambivalent about to one of my most anticipated films of the summer.

Paramount has released a bunch of character posters for the film over the past few days, and rather than string it out into a series of articles, I figured we'd just wait until they were all released and post them all in one easy-to-find spot for those who care about this kind of thing. The ones for Kirk (above) and Krall (Idris Elba's new villain) were just released this morning.

Star Trek Beyond blasts into theaters on July 22, 2016.
