Milla Jovovich To Co-Star With James Franco in Franco's Sci-Fi Movie FUTURE WORLD

0
0

The last thing we heard from James Franco was the embarrassingly brief announcement that he would direct a film adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian, only to discover later that same day that Franco didn't actually have the rights to the book, so that project is now scrapped.

But as you might expect from someone so prolific (if you only know him as an actor, you're missing out on a ton of work he's been doing over the past few years), Franco is already on to the next project, a sci-fi movie he came up with called Future World. Deadline reports that The Fifth Element and Resident Evil star Milla Jovovich will co-star with Franco in the movie, which is set "in a post-apocalyptic world that is plagued with heat, ravaged by disease and crippled by chronic war." Franco is co-directing alongside his frequent collaborator Bruce Thierry Cheung. Here's the breakdown of the story:

The project, written by Cheung, Jay Davis and Jeremy Cheung, follows a young boy of noble birth who embarks on a journey through the wasteland of this future world in order to find medicine for his dying mother. Armed with his faithful bodyguard and only a slim hope that this medicine actually exists, he must forge courageously on, facing danger and ultimately the Warlord of this world who has plans of his own as he takes control of a beautiful, life-like robot assassin.

Jovovich is playing a drug lord, but it's unclear if she's the "Warlord" in that description or a character who's a little further down the ladder. I haven't seen any of Franco's directorial efforts (seriously, he's released a staggering output since 2010 or so), but this one might be enough to get me to check it out.

Hitchcock and STAR WARS Collide in DARTH BY DARTHWEST

It takes a little while to get going, but Fabrice Mathieu's short film Darth By Darthwest places Star Wars characters (and vehicles) into Alfred Hitchcock's classic movie North By Northwest. Cary Grant, ever the dashing leading man, runs like hell from a TIE Fighter instead of a crop-duster. Check it out:

THE WALKING DEAD's Robert Kirkman Bringing HISTORY OF COMIC BOOKS Documentary Series To AMC

The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman is a very busy guy. Not only does he have the TWD TV show and comic to worry about, but he also has the demonic horror series Outcast coming up on Cinemax and he's begun producing films as well. On top of all that, THR reports that Kirkman and TWD's David Alpert will soon be executive producing a new documentary series called Heroes and Villains: The History of Comic Books that will air on AMC.

The six-episode hourlong project will premiere in 2017 and explore the stories, people and events that transformed the comic book industry. AMC touted that the series will offer origin stories to the untold history behind iconic characters as well as examine subjects including pop culture, race, gender and sexuality.

Kirkman, who also has Fear The Walking Dead on the network, spoke about his excitement for the project:

“At the end of the day I am a comic fan first and foremost. I am a lover of the medium and the stories it enables people to tell,” said Kirkman. “I’m excited to partner with AMC once again to bring the stories of some of the most influential people in comics to a television audience.”

From the interviews I've seen, Kirkman is a pretty personable guy, so maybe they'll get him to host this new series himself. I'd much prefer that than someone like Chris Hardwick or Kevin Smith, who already get enough attention as it is.

We knew that Universal Studios Hollywood was getting a year-round attraction devoted to The Walking Dead, but we weren't quite sure exactly when it would open. Now we know, and you can mark your calendars: July 4th is the official opening date. Pretty sure that's going to be a hella busy weekend at the theme park.

Greg Nicotero, the executive producer and makeup guru who created the effects for the show (he also directed a handful of episodes), appears in a new behind-the-scenes video that talks about how the attraction is going to incorporate elements that were originally designed for the series so fans can get up close and personal with the most authentic Walking Dead aspects possible.

First Teaser Trailer For CBS's New STAR TREK TV Series

The CBS upfronts are going on right now, where the network is showing advertisers sneak peeks at its upcoming slate of TV shows. One of those is a new Star Trek series led by Hannibal and Pushing Daisies showrunner Bryan Fuller, and the network unveiled the first look at the new logo in a quick teaser you can watch below:

No casting announcements have been made yet, and production is scheduled to begin this fall in Toronto. The new series will premiere on CBS before moving exclusively to CBS All Access, the network's new streaming service (for which it apparently has extremely high hopes). Mick is not happy about that decision, and you can read all about that here.

GAME OF THRONES' Tower of Joy Sword Fight Gets The Lightsaber Treatment

One rule of the modern internet is that any time there's a sword fight in a popular movie or TV show, you can be damn sure that some fan is going to turn those swords into lightsabers and add Star Wars sound effects to the scene. The most recent example is for the third episode of season six of Game of Thrones, entitled "Oathbreaker," which contains this sequence of a young Ned Stark and his crew facing off against Ser Arthur Dayne, "The Sword of the Morning." (You can read my thoughts about the episode itself here.) Gotta love that Wilhelm Scream in there, too.

First Look at Warren Beatty as Howard Hughes in RULES DON’T APPLY

0
0
first-look-at-warren-beatty-as-howard-hughes-in-rules-dont-apply

It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost twenty years since Warren Beatty has directed a film. The last film he directed was Bulworth back in 1998. The last movie he starred in, though was Town & Country, which was released in 2001.

This November, Beatty will release his latest film project, Rules Don’t Apply, which he directed and stars in. He plays Howard Hughes in the film, and thanks to EW we have our first look at him in the role along with his co-stars Alden Ehrenreich and Lily Collins. We also have some new details regarding the story:

This is a story about a young man (Ehrenreich) and a young woman (Collins) who come to Hollywood, both of whom are affected by American Protestant, American Puritan morality on the brink of the sexual revolution and the rise of feminism that was to take place in the early ’60s.

Beatty has been working on the film project for years, and he described the film as a comedy love story. In an interview with the outlet, Beatty talked about how his curiosity about Hughes led him to make this movie:

“I’ve had the idea of making a movie about Howard Hughes in mind for a long time. We never met, but I sometimes feel like I knew everybody who knew Howard and I never lost my curiosity about him. It’s just that I don’t run around doing movies all the time.”

In case you’re wondering why Beatty hasn’t made a lot of films over the years, it’s because he’s been spending time with his family. When asked about it, he said:

“I have four children and any one of them is more interesting than any 12 movies I’ve done. I had my life before them and my life since them.”

That’s a pretty reasonable answer. I’m happy to see him back making movies again, though! I’ve always enjoyed the movies that he has made, and it will be great to see him make a comeback. It was previously reported that he plans on making a Dick Tracy sequel next, which would be wicked cool.

Rules Don’t Apply is set to be released on November 11th, and it also has a great supporting cast that includes Annette Bening, Oliver Platt, Ed Harris, Martin Sheen, and Matthew Broderick.

Yoda Reimagined as a Badass Dark Sith Lord

Just in case you’ve ever wondered what Yoda might have been like if he had turned to the dark side of the force in Star Wars, here’s a great piece of art created by Daryl Mandryk. This is Dark Yoda, and he looks freakin’ badass. This version of Yoda looks like he has gone through some crazy shit. There must’ve been some point in Yoda’s life where he was at least tempted by the dark side. It would be interesting to know how his story would have turned out if he did embrace the dark side of the force. This illustration at least gives us a visualization of it.

Awesome New STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII Details on Knights of Ren Action Scene

0
0

Some more details have surfaced regarding Rian Johnson's Star Wars: Episode VIII, and these are the most awesome details about the movie that I’ve heard so far! There’s a good chance that the information provided by Making Star Wars is true. A source claims to have seen Johnson directing a crucial action sequence involving The Knights of Ren, and it sounds freakin’ amazing!

SPOILERS AHEAD:

The Knight of Ren are tracking down Luke Skywalker and Rey, and they apparently come across them on the coast of Ahch-To. The site explains that Rey is reluctant, and maybe even angry at Luke Skywalker, because she has to kill Kylo Ren and she doesn’t want to do it.

The scene that follows is described in the following points:

  • Luke Skywalker and Rey are on Ahch-To just before nightfall as the sun sets in the background and it starts to rain.
  • Rey’s hair is pulled back. She doesn’t have the vest from VII on.
  • Kylo Ren and The Knights of Ren turn up along the coast.
  • Kylo Ren continues advancing towards the heroes with the Knights of Ren.
  • Kylo does not wear the mask here.
  • Kylo has the same cross guard saber as he did in VII.
  • Kylo’s costume looked the same as in VII.
  • Rey and Kylo Ren duel one-on-one and end up fighting alongside the cliff face over looking the nighttime water.
  • Kylo wants his revenge after Rey disgraced him.
  • The Knights of Ren go for Luke Skywalker while Rey is left for Kylo.
  • Luke Skywalker engages the knights on the beach while Kylo attempts to kill Rey.
  • The first black knight has an axe and moves towards the Luke but is Force pushed away to his death after being thrown through the air.
  • After Luke dispatches the first knight he ignites his green lightsaber.
  • Luke moves through each knight one by one.
  • Rey and Kylo’s battle moves up to the side of a cliff.
  • Suddenly Rey is nowhere to be seen. She’s taken out of the battle, either wounded or appears to go over the side of the cliff.
  • Luke Skywalker casually walks towards Kylo to finish him but Kylo retreats when he sees Skywalker and his crew defeated.
  • Luke Skywalker is a badass Jedi and he’ll destroy your squad.

I love this, and it’s cool to learn that Luke will be fighting with The Force and his lightsaber, which is the same green lightsaber that was introduced in Return of the Jedi. There was apparently a lot of wire-work involved with this scene, so it seems Luke is going to be throwing people all over the place.

For now we can only speculate as to what happens to Rey and why Luke lets Kylo run. I’m sure that Rey survives because she’s the star of this trilogy. But why didn’t Luke go after Kylo? After taking out the rest of the Knight of Ren, you’d think Luke could overpower Kylo. It seems to me like maybe he allowed Kylo to get away. Is Rey the one that has to kill him? So many questions!

We’ll just have to wait to find out the answers to them when the movie is released on December 15, 2017.

THE NOSTALGIST Is an Incredible Sci-Fi Short Based on a Story by ROBOPOCALYPSE Author

I’ve got a wonderfully made sci-fi short for you to watch today called "The Nostalgist." It centers on a father and son who live in an idyllic future, but their reality is not what is seems. The movie was directed by Giacomo Cimini, and it’s based on a short story written by Robopocalypse author Daniel H. Wilson. Here’s the official description of the story:

In the futuristic city of Vanille, with properly tuned ImmerSyst Eyes & Ears the world can look and sound like a paradise. But the life of a father and his young son threatens to disintegrate when the father's device begins to fail. Desperate to avoid facing his traumatic reality, the man must venture outside to find a replacement, into a city where violence and danger lurk beneath a beautiful but fragile veneer…

Not only is the story solid, but so is the beautiful production design, visual effects, and cinematography. This is an all-around great short film that is heartfelt, intense, and engaging. I hope you all enjoy it.

Great Trailer for Bill Paxton’s TRAINING DAY TV Series

great-trailer-for-bill-paxtons-training-day-tv-series

As a fan of the movie Training Day, I was kind of excited to see how this TV series set up at CBS would turn out. Bill Paxton is headlining the series with Justin Cornwell, and today we have the first trailer. I was actually really surprised to see how great the series looks. You never know with these series adaptations of feature films.

The series is set fifteen years after the events of the movie, and it centers on an “idealistic young African-American police officer named Kyle, who is given an assignment by the Deputy Chief to go undercover with an elite squad of the LAPD and take down a morally ambiguous Caucasian detective named Detective Frank Rourke, gaining the trust of the seasoned cop by becoming his new partner."

The pilot for the series was directed by Antoine Fuqua from a script written by Will Beall (Gangster Squad). Fuqua is the director of the 2001 film. The series may have different characters and a different storyline, but as you’ll see, Fuqua brought the same badassery that we enjoyed about the first film. On top of that, Paxton rings his A-game, and he’s going to be awesome in this series.

Daniel Craig Is Reportedly Officially Done with James Bond

0

It's not like we didn't see this coming. While making the press rounds promoting the last James Bond film Spectre, Daniel Craig made it pretty clear that he wasn't interested in making any more James Bond films. At one point he even said that he'd rather "slit his wrists" than do another Bond film. There were also previous rumours that he was going to exit the franchise.

Now Daily Mail is reporting that Craig is officially done with the franchise. Apparently, the studio was trying really hard to get him back and even offered him a large amount of money to do another film, which he reportedly turned down. That amount is reportedly $100 million. According to their inside source:

"Daniel is done – pure and simple – he told top brass at MGM after Spectre. They threw huge amounts of money at him, but it just wasn’t what he wanted.
"He had told people after shooting that this would be his final outing, but the film company still felt he could come around after Spectre if he was offered a money deal.
"One source said that executives had finally agreed to let the actor go after growing tired of his criticism of the franchise.
"With knee problems and general exhaustion, he felt it was a journey with an ending."

After all the talk and rumors that he wouldn't be coming back, this isn't surprising at all. What would be surprising is if he did agree to come back for another Bond movie at this point!

I've enjoyed Craig's portrayal of this character, but I think it's time for him to go, so I'm completely ok with him not returning. The moment Tom Hiddleston said he'd be interested in playing James Bond, that's who I wanted to see in the role. Hopefully, something pans out with that.

Circumstantial Evidence Hints at John Boyega Being Up for a Marvel Film

0
0

I really wouldn’t be surprised at all to learn that Star Wars: The Force Awakens star John Boyega could join an upcoming Marvel film. The guy is a great young actor, he already has a great and solid relationship with Disney through Star Wars, so why wouldn’t they want to consider him for a Marvel movie.

There is some circumstantial evidence that has come up that suggests Boyega could be joining the Marvel universe in some capacity. The evidence comes from a recent post on Boyega’s snapchat account which included the a simple caption, “Meeting.” Not long after that message went live, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige started to follow Boyega on Twitter.

Heroic Hollywood then chimed in to back all of this up, revealing that the actor could very well be up for a role in Black Panther saying, "Hot, unconfirmed scuttlebutt is telling me Star Wars: The Force Awakens star John Boyega may be meeting for the film as well."

Screen Rant goes on to point out that there is a very real chance that Boyega could be meeting with Black Panther director Ryan Coogler for the film. The director and actor are already acquainted with each other, and Feige has said that the cast of Black Panther will be 90% African-American. You can bet Marvel is going after some of the best actors in the biz to be in the movie, so why not enlist Boyega, who has also expressed interest in being in the film?

This is all just fans trying to connect the dots, but like I said, I wouldn’t be surprised to eventually see Boyega in the Marvel universe somewhere down the line. The most likely candidate points to Black Panther, which is set to be released on February 16th, 2018.

I’m sure Boyega will carve out some time in his busy Star Wars schedule to join another huge badass franchise.

Dwayne Johnson's Spy Thriller THE JANSON DIRECTIVE Will Launch a Robert Ludlum Cinamatic Universe

0
0

Dwayne Johnson definitely keeps himself busy making movies. They guy is filling up his schedule with a ton of film projects, and he just added a whole new franchise on his list of movies to make.

He has teamed up with Universal Pictures and screenwriter James Vanderbilt (Zodiac, Spider-Man 2) to develop a cinematic universe built around Robert Ludlum's spy novels, and it will start with The Janson Directive, which Johnson is set to star in. Some of the other books that will be included in the franchise include The Parsifal Mosaic, The Sigma Protocol, and Covert One. All of these will take place in the same cinematic universe.

If you're not familiar with The Janson Directive, here's an official description of the book:

When billionaire philanthropist Peter Novak is kidnapped by a terrorist known as The Caliph, it’s up to Paul Janson — a legend in the notorious U.S. covert agency Consular Operations — to save him. But Janson’s rescue operation goes horribly wrong…and soon Janson is marked for death, the target of a “beyond salvage” order issued from the highest level of the government. Now Janson is running for his life, pursued by Jessica Kincaid, a young agent of astonishing ability who can anticipate and counter his every move. To survive, Janson must outrace a conspiracy that has gone beyond the control of its originators. To win, he must counter it with a conspiracy of his own…

Johnson will be taking on the lead role in the film. The guy seems to put everything he has into the movies he makes. He's just so damn passionate about the projects he takes on, and I love that about him. Talking about the project and the character he'll be playing, the actor said:

"The Janson Directive is classic Robert Ludlum. Sharp, edgy and layered storylines. The character is complex, conflicted, bad ass and lethal — I can't wait to sink my teeth into this and bring him to life. Between Jamie, Akiva, Captivate and Universal, it's an exciting time to help produce and build out this awesome Ludlum universe."

Vanderbilt is adapting The Janson Directive from a story that was co-authored with Academy Award-winner Akiva Goldsman. Vanderbilt offered up the following statement:

“I’ve been obsessed with Robert Ludlum ever since I was a kid, and the opportunity to play in this sandbox and create an interconnected universe based on the works of one of the best espionage writers of all time is a dream come true."

Vanderbilt will co-write two more treatments for movies based on a couple of other Ludlum novels. We don't know if they'll include any of the three other titles mentioned, though. We also don't know the level of involvement Johnson will have in these other projects. They will help shape the cinematic universe and other writers will be brought in to adapt these film treatments into screenplays.

I love intense, action-packed spy thrillers, and this could end up being an incredibly fun film franchise. Are you excited to hear that we will be getting a Robert Ludlum cinematic universe?

Rumored SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Plot Details Leak Online

0
0

A rumored, detailed plot summary for Marvel's Spider-Man: Homecoming has leaked online. The information comes from 4chan (via: Reddit), so who knows if any of this is true. I would say take it with a huge pinch of salt because there's a good chance that none of this is true. However, 4chan has revealed a few valid bits of information for Marvel films in the past. Even though this probably isn't legit, it still makes for an entertaining read, and it does tie in with a lot of the information we've heard about the film so far. It also provides some good material for geek conversation about what we might want to see in a new Spider-Man film.

I'll be surprised if any of the following turns out to be true, but it is a pretty fun plot, the vibe of which is heavily inspired by the Spectacular and Ultimate comics. There's a lot here that could work incredibly well for a new Spider-Man film. So even if this is all made up fan-fiction, it's still got some great ideas that I would actually really like to see in the upcoming movie. I kind of hope that it's real. Check it out and tell us what you think!

  • The film begins with Spider-man thwarting a bank heist in the beginning of the morning, taking down all of the thugs except for one. The final robber and threatens to blow the head off his victim if Spider-man doesn't let him go. Spider-man responds by doing nothing except for flashing the Spider Signal on him and threatening to summon the spiders, which scares the thug into surrendering. Peter collects pictures he took of the event to turn into the Daily Bugle after school.
  • While the police are collecting witness statements, one woman says "Daredevil saved us!" and she's corrected by another guy who explains that it was their friendly neighborhood Spider-man. Spidey is met with appraisal by the people of New York, and the title card appears.
  • As soon as he takes of the costume, life starts shitting on him. Peter arrives late for school and misses a test that he is unable to make-up. He's basically invisible to everyone except Harry and the students who think that he's loser. Liz Allen however, who is dating Flash Thompson, seems to have a thing for Peter. Flash is obviously jealous of Peter and is constantly trying to instigate with him, but Peter never budges. Harry tries to get Peter to join the Homecoming Dance Committee that he and Liz are a part of but Peter declines, explaining that he has enough on his plate with school and making up the work he misses.
  • After school, Peter turns in the photos to J. Jonah Jameson whose excuse for underpaying Peter is getting the pictures to him late, despite having had to go to school and being the only pictures of Spider-man foiling the robbery since the criminals took out the cameras. JJJ reveals that one of the thugs (by the name of Herman Shultz) actually got away with some of the money and JJJ twists the story into accusing Spider-man of working with the criminals, allowing them to get away before the police arrive.
  • Peter returns home to get chastised from Aunt May who's received a call home from school about Peter's chronic tardiness. Peter responds by handing her the little money he got from freelancing at the Bugle. She goes easy on Peter, realizing he's been trying to do a lot for May after losing Uncle Ben and the house. Because of his age and the city, Peter is unable to find any other work. May tries to set Peter up on a date with a friend's niece who she's been trying to for weeks, but Peter declines, using schoolwork as the usual excuse.
  • Norman Osborn's "Oscorp" boomed in productivity shortly after the collapse of SHIELD, hiring many of its scientists and resources. It is a fast growing enterprise, perhaps one of the fastest, projected to rival even Stark Industries within the next decade. Many of the world's top scientists are employed at Oscorp, from Adrian Toomes to Otto Octavius. The former is the antagonist of the film, while the latter, among others, is just name-dropped.
  • Toomes lives alone with his daughter and has earned the nickname of "the Vulture" for making a career out of refurbishing old or dying scientific advances in fresh, innovative ways. His newest venture is a winged exosuit based off of the technology used by Iron Man, War Machine and the Falcon. Unable to create a battery or arc-reactor powerful enough to run the suit, the proto-type is only able to run on the wearer's vitals for a short amount of time.
  • Osborn suggests human test trials, but Toomes argues that it would be illegal and unethical as the suit is not ready. Prolonged exposure would lead to fatally ill side-effects, causing the wearer to age rapidly after removing the suit. Osborn has the tests run behind Toomes' back anyways, and the human subjects age rapidly just as Toomes had predicted.
  • When Toomes learns Osborn ran the tests behind his back, Osborn convinces Toomes that the suit is a success. Though he believes Osborn, the lie isn't enough to ethically convince Toomes to allow Osborn to get away with his crimes. He threatens to reveal Osborn as the fraud he is and in response, Osborn frames Toomes, hoping the scandal will be public enough to get the project the funding it needs.
  • With his name slandered, Toomes himself breaks into Oscorp to destroy the exosuit. When security corners Toomes, he puts on the exosuit himself and breaks out of Oscorp. He returns home to his daughter and explains that they have to leave. She refuses to leave with a criminal, and Toomes is forced to escape alone into an abandoned warehouse that he makes his new base of operations. Though he is tempted to exact his revenge on Osborn, he chooses not to go down that path, believing he's already done enough to slander his own name and lose his daughter. Toomes begins experiencing the side effects and accelerated aging.
  • He plans to break back into Oscorp to get the research and technology he needs to revert the side-effects. Until then, he creates a way to reverse engineer the suit to feed off of other's life forces instead of his own, through the talons. He uses it on rodents and small animals to keep the suit from killing him. but believe that eventually they will not be enough.
  • Peter Parker gets into a fight with Flash Thompson for "flirting with his girl" where he decides not to fight back and Flash hits him directly in the jaw. While Parker plays the punch off as if it hurt immensely, Flash tries to play off the punch as if it didn't almost shatter his hand. Among other issues, the fight is the last straw for Liz, and the two break up. Liz begins showing more interest in Peter, and Peter has no idea how to handle it.
  • Peter reveals to Harry that he really has been crushing on Liz for some time, and Harry Osborn pushes Peter to make his move. Because their relationship has just ended, Peter responds that "he isn't some kind of vulture", following it up with "But he is." after discovering that Toomes is attacking Oscorp. Harry is freaking out because his father might be there, but Peter has to come up with an excuse so that he can go stop Toomes.
  • Spider-man arrives as The Vulture leave Oscorp and the two duke it out in the city. Spider-man cracks on his old appearance and tries to rips out his flight systems, but Toomes explains that the flight systems are the most well protected parts of the suit. Spidey accidentally goes for the life-support system not realizing what it is, and Toomes has no choice but to escape with what he has and begin draining the energy of innocent victims.
  • With Oscorp's private research and encrypted files, Toomes learns of a secret formula Norman had developed known as "OZ". Toomes believes that if he can replicate the OZ serum once more, it can reverse the accelerated aging and cure the side effects of the Vulture exosuit. There were no human test subjects, only animals, but he believes that it works and he can be the first. Until then, Toomes begins stealing the components he believes he needs to replicate the OZ formula, knowing that soon enough his talons won't be eventually begins to drain the life from living humans.
  • Harry is upset at Peter for leaving when he was worried about his father, but Peter makes it up for him by deciding to join the Homecoming Dance Committee, much to Liz's excitement and Flash's disappointment. Flash's hand is put in a caste after the fight with Peter, but he blames it on punching a wall because he missed Liz so much.
  • The Homecoming Committee decides on making the school dance "Avenger" themed. While some of the faculty advise against this because of the controversy surrounding he Avengers as of late, the students outnumber the faculty and vote for theme virtually unanimously. Peter is always late to meetings because of Spider-man and the Bugle, but one day Harry offers to be Peter's wingman and gives Peter the courage he needs to ask out Liz. Peter offers to take Liz to the Oscorp Science Fair; at first she is weary, until he explains that it's just one of many activities at the carnival later that night.
  • Toomes discovers his daughter Valeria is at the carnival and goes there to visit her, where he offers her the money and wealth he has been amassing for her. Valeria however shuns her father, considering him a monster for what he's done. She rejects him and the money, and Toomes considers this the final straw before declaring revenge on Osborn once and for all. When Peter meets Liz at the carnival, the Vulture begins his attack on the carnival to find Osborn. Spider-Man is forced to appear and battle Vulture, who gains the upperhand this time around.
  • Osborn tells Toomes what he already knows, that the OZ formula was tested on various animals and never given human trials, and it was a failure. Toomes tells Osborn that he's turned him into a monster in the eyes of his daughter, and Osborn explains that he's done that himself. The suit's upgrades keep Peter from damaging the life support system same way as before, and Toomes uses his talons to drain Peter's energy, restoring youth and granting strength like never before. While Peter doesn't age, he is weakened immensely. Osborn makes his escape, causing Toomes to leave.
  • Tony unexpectedly picks up Peter from the carnival, and the two discuss Toomes on the way home. Stark reveals that he doesn't trust Osborn, and not just because he leads a rival company. The Accords keep Tony from directly helping stop Toomes, but he he can indirectly help Peter. Peter asks for schematics on the Iron Man and Falcon suits, and Stark tells them they're a little to advanced for him. When he shows them to Peter on a holoprint, Peter blows Tony away by understanding the tech immediately and building Toomes's suit from scratch. On the drive home, Peter and Tony figure out how to create an anti-magnetic inverter to stop Toomes without killing him. Peter also discusses the difficulty of balancing his responsibility with living a normal teenage life.
  • Right before he drops him off, Stark also reveals he saw Peter spill the spaghetti with Liz and gives him some advice on how to deal with women. When Peter asks what Tony looks for in a woman, Tony says redheads. Peter says it's a shame he doesn't know any. Aunt May tries to set Peter up with a date to the Homecoming Dance, but Peter as usual doesn't trust his Aunt and rejects it. After the weekend is over, Flash berates Peter in front of Liz for being too afraid of the Vulture to stay with her at the Carnival, to which Peter immediately responds by asking her to the Homecoming Dance. Liz accepts the invitation, and Flash is left looking like a fool.
  • The night of the dance, Peter receives a package from Stark containing the inverter. He stuffs it into his pocket and heads out to the dance to meet with Liz. Shortly after he arrives, The Vulture crashes the Midtown High Homecoming Dance to kidnap Harry. Peter switches into his Spider-man costume and realizes that the inverter is in his dress pants' pockets.
  • When he finally retrieves it, he discovers it doesn't work unless it's within close range. Toomes realizes exactly what it is and destroys it before he can get close enough. Spidey eventually takes the battle outside where Flash Thompson and a few others run after to watch. Toomes realizes Spider-man is going out of his way to keep the casualties and collateral damage to a minimum (save for crashing through a cheap ice sculpture of the Avengers that leaves Tony, Vision, and half of War Machine. You know which half.)
  • He fires at the roof of the school to try collapse the gymnasium. He uses the distraction to take Harry and escape. Spider-man is able to save everyone in the gymnasium, and seeing that Liz is alone, assures her that Peter made it home safe. He webs her hand to Flash and tells them to make up. Liz is grossed out by the webbing, while Flash states that he's never washing his hand again.
  • Spider-man heads over to Oscorp to meet with Norman who's just recieved a message from Toomes with directions to his abandoned warehouse, telling him to go alone. Norman follows his orders and Spider-man stays behind at Oscorp to fix the inverter. When Norman arrives, Toomes shows Harry all of the illegal experiments that Norman was responsible for. At first Harry backs away from his father, until his father twists the facts and explains everything he's done is for him and the memory of their mother.
  • Harry forgives his father, and with his plan in shambles, Vulture prepares to kill Norman Osborn. Spider-Man leaps in the way, just in time, giving the Osborns ample time to escape. Peter takes the battles into the skies and throughout New York City, even passing by the old Avengers tower. The battle ends near Oscorp when Peter uses an amplified version of the inverter, and Toomes is caught in between two buildings like a fly caught in a web.
  • Liz gets back together with Flash. As a result, however, Flash's dislike for Peter has been replaced with a fanboy love for Spider-man. Osborn destroys all evidence that could ruin his name, and Toomes is put in jail. Toomes is visited by Osborn and says it's only a matter of time before the public realizes what Osborn really is and he ends up in prison with Toomes. Osborn responds by saying that perhaps one day he can find it in his heart to forgive Toomes, and maybe, just maybe, he'll allow him to work for him again.
  • Peter learns Midtown High is holding a second Homecoming Dance, thanks to the donation of an anonymous benefactor. Peter is tired and decides he wants nothing to do with it, especially after blowing his chances with Liz. Aunt May reveals she's already arranged a date for him to go with, someone she's been trying to set him up with for the entire film. Mary Jane is waiting at the door with her famous "Face it Tiger, you just hit the the jackpot."
  • Peter freaks out when Aunt May reveals Stark stopped by to drop off "a new suit", only to realize it's a suit for the dance with a note that reads "Go get 'em."
  • Peter arrives at the new Homecoming dance with Mary Jane to find that this time around, the dance's theme is Spider-Man.
  • The midcredits scene is Osborn rewatching video footage of Peter Parker getting bitten by the spider during a field trip to Oscorp. He has been tracking Peter's progress during all of this time.

Murder is Legal (Again) in THE PURGE: ELECTION YEAR Trailer

Here's the newest trailer for The Purge: Election Year, which sees Frank Grillo back in action to protect a U.S. Senator who wants to abolish The Purge altogether. Obviously that isn't going to sit well with the people in power who benefit, so they send out a horde of soldiers to kill her and the two must escape and endure until the twelve-hour free-for-all comes to an end. Who would have thought when this film series began a few years ago that we'd reach a point in our actual political reality in which the idea of a nationwide purge is no longer THAT far-fetched?

The Purge: Election Year arrives on July 1st.

Expanding the universe introduced in the hit franchise that electrified the culture and earned $200 million at the worldwide box office, Universal Pictures’ The Purge: Election Year reveals the next terrifying chapter that occurs over 12 hours of annual lawlessness sanctioned by the New Founders of America to keep this country great.
It’s been two years since Leo Barnes (Frank Grillo) stopped himself from a regrettable act of revenge on Purge Night. Now serving as head of security for Senator Charlie Roan (Elizabeth Mitchell), his mission is to protect her in a run for president and survive the annual ritual that targets the poor and innocent. But when a betrayal forces them onto the streets of D.C. on the one night when no help is available, they must stay alive until dawn…or both be sacrificed for their sins against the state.

When it comes to body painting, KayPikeFashion is on another level. Her ability to recreate iconic comic book characters using her own body as a canvas is truly remarkable! Her latest upload features a phenomenal paint job of the New 52 Joker! See how she made it happen in the time lapse below.

Side note: I'm aware the current Batman run is continuing post New 52, I just didn't have a way to better differentiate movie and comic Jokers!
