Badass Futuristic Batmobile Concept Design

Encho Enchev, a senior 3D artist and designer at Ubsoft, is the creator of this insanely awesome Batmobile concept. You can see that it was inspired by the previously designed Batmobiles of the past, but gives it a sleeker futuristic look. He even used actual bats as inspiration as well, you can see it in the front of the car. It’d be a shame if Zack Snyder, Ben Affleck, and the rest of the development ignored this. It’s just too badass not to be brought to life in the movies. This thing is built for speed and combat, and it sure does look like it could do some serious damage.

Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, and Paul Rudd appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night and shared a new clip from Captain America: Civil War. The clip features Paul Rudd's Scott Lang, a.k.a. Ant-Man, meeting Captain America for the first time, and it's an incredibly funny moment. Lang is just completely geeking out over the fact that he's meeting Captain America. This clip was first shown to audiences at D23 last year, but it has finally made its way online for fans to see, so enjoy! I also included other clips from Team Cap's visit with Kimmel.

Marvel Casts David Wenham as Villain in IRON FIST Series

Marvel has cast David Wenham (Lord of the Rings, 300) in the role of Harold Meachum in their upcoming series Iron Fist. I imagine some of you aren’t familiar with the character, but he does play a very important part in the story.

Returning to New York City after being missing for years, Daniel Rand fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.

Iron Fist's real name is Daniel Rand, and in the comics he traveled to a lost mystical city called K’un-L’un with his family at the age of 9. After a series of tragic events, Daniel is adopted by city’s ruler and taught an advanced form martial arts as well as the mystical power of the Iron Fist, which basically allows him to channel his chi to the extreme, giving him powers of healing, telepathy, and super fighting abilities. When he's all grown up he returns to New York City and becomes a superhero.

Harold Meachum played a role in bringing on those tragic events. The character is described as a “ruthless corporate leader who was partners with Danny's partners at the time of their deaths. The role he plays in Danny's past and future will be revealed over the course of the series.” In the comic series he was Wendell’s former business partner, and he betrayed him in hopes of taking the company and Harold's wife for himself. If you don’t want to know the details of his involvement, stop reading now. If you do, here ya go!

On a snowy expedition near the mysterious city of K'un-Lun, Harold Meacham violently turned on the other three members of his traveling party. Meachum facilitated Wendell Rand falling to this death. Upon killing his former friend and rival, Meachum proclaimed his unspoken love for Wendell's wife Heather. Outraged, Heather Rand and her young son Danny ran from Meachum. However, she was soon devoured by wolves as she attempted to shield and protect Danny. However, young Danny survived, was rescued, and spent his formative years in K'un-Lun, eventually becoming the martial arts master known as Iron Fist.

Wenham joins Finn Jones (Game of Thrones), who plays the title character, and Jessica Henwick, who is set to play Colleen Wing. Scott Buck (Dexter) will serve as showrunner on the drama, which will be released sometime after Luke Cage

New DOCTOR STRANGE Poster Gives Us Another Glimpse of The Sanctum Sanctorum

With Avengers: Civil War... correction, Captain America: Civil War almost out, the Marvel • Disney marketing machine is shifting gears and starting to push Doctor Strange. Director Scott Derrickson shared a poster image of Strange in the Sanctum Sanctorum. This matches earlier concept art released by the studio.

I really like the design of everything I've seen out of Doctor Strange so far. It's a step in a different mystical direction than something like Thor. Benedict Cumberbatch as the surgeon turned sorcerer supreme was more than enough to get me on board.

Doctor Strange opens in theaters and other dimensions November, 4th (USA).

If you are a fan of the '80s arcade scene, then Geeks, Girls, Fun and Ghouls is a must watch because it's so fantastically enjoyable! This is a grindhouse style pitch trailer for a retro gaming horror film that needs to exist. The concept comes from Steve Carino and Newt Wallen, and this trailer offers us a ridiculous and fun visual treat that immediately grabbed my attention. I know not everyone is going to dig this as much as I do, but I’m a fan of weird, strange, and wacky films, and that’s exactly what this is. It’s only a couple minutes long so make sure to check it out when you get a chance.

Preacher is a new series on AMC that you won’t want to miss! I’ve already seen the first episode, and I was blown away by how good and entertaining it was. If you’re a fan of the comic it is based on, you’re gonna love the hell out of this series. It does everything right. You can read our review of the pilot episode here.

The clip is called “Meet Tulip,” and it features a thrilling action-packed sequence in which Ruth Negga as Tulip is attacked while driving on the highway and then through a corn field. As you’ll see, Tulip knows how to handle herself and kick some ass when she needs to.

Preacher is a supernatural, twisted and darkly comedic drama that follows a West Texas preacher named Jesse Custer, who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that causes him to develop a highly unusual power. Jesse, his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip and an Irish vagabond named Cassidy come together and when they do, they are thrust into a crazy world populated by a cast of characters from Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.

The series stars Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, Joseph Gilgun as Cassidy, Ruth Negga as Tulip, Lucy Griffiths as Emily, W. Earl Brown as Sherriff Root, Anatol Yusef as DeBlanc, Tom Brooke as Fiore, Derek Wilson as Donnie Schenck, and Ian Colletti as Eugene/Arseface.

Marvel Has (Nascent) Plans for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hasn’t even wrapped production yet, but Marvel has plans for Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige told iO9 that although they are understandably focused on their current slate of films that have already been announced (and that is already kind of a lot), they are keeping an eye out for future projects, and Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is on the list. Here is the quote:

“We’re only working on what’s been announced through the end of 2019. And it is still a big chess board for 2020 and beyond, but certainly I would say Guardians 3 is [one film that’s] up there. I don’t know what exactly the order will be.”

So, before we get GOTG3 we will see Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, both Infinity Wars, and (maybe?) Inhumans. Plus the possibility of whatever other films are in Phase 4. Good hell, Kevin FeIge is a busy man.

It may be a long wait, but it is worth it to spend some more time with Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot. Plus, director James Gunn has said that he has a story in mind for a third Guardians film, and I am very much curious about that. It is, of course, still possible that we may encounter some of our favorite cosmic characters in Infinity Wars, but we’ll have to see about that.

Scott Eastwood Joins the Growing Cast of FAST 8

Producers of the Fast and Furious franchise took to twitter yesterday to announce that Scott Eastwood has joined the cast of Fast 8. He will play a protege of Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russell). Eastwood also posted a statement on Instagram conveying his excitement to join the franchise, his admiration for Russell, and his love for Paul Walker, who was a friend of his. Eastwood’s career has been taking off lately. He is currently filming the action movie Overdrive in France and has three other films in post-production. Unfortunately, I have only seen him in The Longest Ride, which is even worse than you think. His acting was fine, though.

In addition to Russell, Eastwood joins (of course) Vin Diesel and other returning cast members Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Lucas Black, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jason Statham. Charlize Theron and Kristofer Hivju will be playing villains in the new movie. Straight Outta Compton's F. Gary Gray will direct the film, which is due out in almost exactly one year, on April 14, 2017.

Here is the announcement:

And here is Eastwood’s statement about joining the franchise:

It's hard to put into words how excited I am for the next Fast & Furious. To me, the series is so much more than just a franchise. It's a legacy. These great actors who have been in it together for so long have become a family. I absolutely can't wait to join it. Now I can't say too much, but I get to play a new character who operates under Kurt Russell in the movie, which is incredible, because Kurt was a total childhood hero of mine growing up. Very much looking forward to learning a thing or two from such an original and cool guy. Paul was a close friend of mine. We surfed together, traveled together, and he was a huge role model and influencing figure in my life when I was younger. He still is. He was an older brother to me. For me to be able to add to the F&F story, Paul's story, and the FAST family is like a dream come true. Gary Gray and Neal Moritz - I can't wait to get started and dive in. Vin - thank you for the support and the insight. Paul - I am going to make you proud. #F8

Riveting New Trailer for Liam Neeson's Fantasy Film A MONSTER CALLS

A new international trailer has been released for the upcoming fantasy adventure film A Monster Calls. The trailer is narrated by Liam Neeson, who has never sounded more sinister, and it's so cool! I'm extremely excited for this movie because it is loaded with fantastical elements which I really enjoy seeing in movies. The film was directed by Juan Antonio Bayona (The Impossible, The Orphanage), and it looks visually spectacular.

The movie is based on the children’s fantasy novel, which follows a 12-year-old boy named Conor (Lewis MacDougall) "as he attempts to deal with his mother’s (Felicity Jones) illness and the bullying of his classmates by escaping into a fantastical world of monsters and fairy tales that explore courage, loss, and faith."

Now that I think about it, this movie kind of has a Pan's Labyrinth type vibe to it. The film also stars Toby Kebbell, Sigourney Weaver, and Geraldine Chaplin (The Orphanage). Patrick Ness is the writer of the novel, and he also wrote the screenplay.

A Monster Calls will be released on October 14th, 2016. To watch the first trailer, click here.

Ridley Scott Bringing THE MAGIC CASTLE to Screens and Cities Near You

$

THR reports that Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions is teaming up with Radar Pictures to produce The Magic Castle, a feature film centered around the iconic private magic club in Los Angeles. That’s right. Magic. It is a private magic club. It is the best.

Currently, there is no director attached to the project, although McG was attached in the past. There is also no word on what kind of story the movie will tell. But what we do know is that Scott Free and Radar are developing the property across various platforms. They are also looking into TV and digital possibilities.

But wait! There’s more! Scott Free and Radar will also be teaming up with The Magic Castle Ic. to franchise the club in cities across the world, which, I mean… I don’t know how that is going to work. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Magic Castle, but it is a private club for magicians and magic enthusiasts. You have to be a member or a member’s guest to get in. There are magic shows going on all the time, and the performers are really good. Since I don’t know that much about the magician community, I don’t really know if there are huge quantities of talented magicians across the globe to fill the membership and also perform, or if the franchises will water down the concept and be like a magic version of Bubba Gump. It will be interesting to see how this develops.

Are you super into close up magic? Do you have personal insight into the international magician community? Let us know.

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING is The Official Title of The New Spider-Man Film

Tonight at the Sony Pictures presentation at CinemaCon, the studio announced that the official title of Marvel's solo Spider-Man movie will be Spider-Man: Homecoming, and above you can find an official logo that was revealed at the presentation. That's Tom Holland in the photo who was flown to Vegas in a private jet after the world premiere of Captain America: Civil War in Los Angeles so that he could be the one who announced the official title.

The title, Spider-Man: Homecomingis a pun. The title not only references that fact that Peter Parker is a high school kid, but I'd like to think that it also tells us that the character has finally "come home" to Marvel. When talking about the film, the young actor said the title was mostly about the fact that Homecoming will show Peter Parker attempting to embrace his true identity.

"It really is a homecoming for the character, because throughout the story Peter [Parker] is trying to find his true identity, and where he really belongs in this world."

As you can see, the logo has a very fun and playful comic vibe to it. I absolutely loved Holland in the role of Peter Parker, a.k.a. Spider-Man, and I'm so stoked to see how this solo film turns out! The movie is being directed by Jon Watts and opens on July 7th, 2017.

Ben Affleck Officially Set to Direct Solo BATMAN Film

Warner Bros. has officially announced that Ben Affleck is set to direct their upcoming solo Batman film. We knew we was co-writing it and that he would star in it, but until now we didn't know if he would direct it or not. This is great news because I know Affleck is going to give us an incredible Batman film. I believe that he'll do a better job with it than Zack Snyder would.

The announcement came from Warner Bros. chief Kevin Tsujihara on Tuesday at CinemaCon. Tsujihara went on to say that the studio has committed to 10 DC films and that most of them have already been announced. Those films will be released over the course of the next five years. He named every movie along with its director, including Batman with Affleck. The studio later double confirmed it with a press release.

I'm a big fan of Affleck's version of Batman. He was awesome in the role and one of my favorite parts of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. It's going to be great to see what story they tell with this version of the hero. It has been rumored that it could be a prequel that explores the tragic past of Robin.

Last week the studio announced two mysterious DC Films movies for October 5th, 2018 and November 1st, 2019. I think the solo Batman film will take the October 5th slot. Are you happy to hear that Affleck is official directing the solo Batman movie?

Thanos Will Be Introduced in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR in a Huge Way

Thanos has been teased in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since The Avengers. We know the Mad Titan is coming, and he will unleash hell when Avengers: Infinity War finally rolls around. Marvel has been leading up to his story arc and when he finally comes into play as a main villain in a movie, the studio is going to make he makes an impression. Screen Crush recently had the opportunity to talk to Civil War screenwriter Christopher Markus, and this is what he had to say about what we can expect from the character in Infinity War:

“We don’t get an element of surprise. Everyone knows he’s coming, and yet he hasn’t had terribly many scenes that have illuminated very much about him.”

As you might expect, a large part of Infinity War Part 1 will be devoted to introducing Thanos in a huge way. He goes on to say:

“You can count on a lot of scenes where we illuminate a lot about him very early.”

As far as the MCU goes, there’s still not much known about Thanos. He’s just lurking in the shadows pulling some strings, so it's going to be awesome to see how Marvel actually plans on handling this character when he’s in full-on action mode. Screenwriter Stephen McFeely said:

“We still have to take it on a character-by-character basis. The challenge is hanging on to character as motivation when you blow the canvas up to the entire universe. And not to make it seem like all your people look like tiny little video game characters running around.”

Markus added:

“It’s just trying to balance character moments in the middle of big, crazy Jim Starlin [creator of the “Infinity Gauntlet” comic series] action.”

Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 will be released on May 4th, 2018, and I can’t even being to imagine what Marvel and the creative team for this film are actually going to deliver. It's hard to think how they will be able to top what they accomplished in Civil War.

Stunning New WONDER WOMAN Footage Screened at CinemaCon

$

Warner Bros. had their big CinemaCon presentation on Tuesday in Las Vegas. A lot of the stuff they showed from their upcoming slate of films was just previously released trailers that we've already posted on the site. However, they started the presentation off strong with a kick-ass sizzle reel for their upcoming DC film slate. It's also where they confirmed that Ben Affleck is officially attached to direct the solo Batman movie.

Included in the sizzle reel was about 30 seconds of never before seen footage of Wonder Woman, which seriously gave me the chills. Wonder Woman is a film that I'm extremely excited for, her introduction in Batman v Superman kinda blew me away, and with Patty Jenkins at the helm of the solo film, I think we're gonna get a film that will be better that Batman v Superman.

As for the footage we were shown, there was a lot of stuff incorporated from films such as Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad, and concept art from The Flash and Aquaman. All of this stuff we've already seen, except for the Wonder Woman footage.

Almost all of the shots we see of her are action shots and of her kicking ass in the most badass of ways. There's footage of her riding on a horse through the woods as well as in an open field. We see Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor in the cockpit of an old WWI fighter plane that is ready to take off. There's a clip of Wonder Woman in a room brutally taking on a group of soldiers by herself, which concludes with a slow motion crazy spin kick through the air. We got to see her deflect some bullets off her forearms, and they bounce off the kill three soldiers. Then there's a shot of Diana not wearing her uniform, instead, she's wearing a beautiful bright blue dress, which makes her completely pop in the tone of the film.

The movie looks like it incorporates the same tone of Batman v Superman, except this is a period setting that takes place in World War I. So you get the awesome war setting, with the period costumes, and more.

We also learn from the reel that the movie will tell Wonder Woman’s “entire history,” and it will also explain what her mission is. That's about it!  Wonder Woman opens June 2nd, 2017.
