It's crazy to see how popular Gwenpool has become in such a short time, and thanks to Marvel and ComicBook.com, we have a preview of the upcoming comic Gwenpool #1. The comic comes from writer Christopher Hastings and artists Gurihiru and Danillo Beyruth. I really like the concept of this character and it looks like it's going to be a fun comic series. Here's the synopsis:

2015's overnight internet sensation takes center stage in her own ongoing series! Gwen Poole used to be a comic book reader just like you...until she woke up in a world where the characters she read about seemed to be real! But they can't be, right? This must all be fake, or a dream or something, right? And you know what that means...NO CONSEQUENCES! Could Gwenpool truly be Marvel's least responsible and least role-modely character to date? She can if she tries!
Rated T

Gwenpool #1 goes on sale April 13th.

Kevin Feige Confirms MCU Characters Will Appear in Sony's Spider-Man Movies

About nine months ago, Marvel Studios president and mega-producer Kevin Feige, the architect of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, said that based on the agreement he made with Sony Pictures to share the rights to Spider-Man, characters from the MCU "could" appear in Spidey's new movies for Sony. At the time, we all assumed that meant that it was a given those crossovers would eventually happen, but Feige's use of the word "could" meant there was still a chance — however small — that the MCU characters would be restricted only to Marvel Studios films.

Now, in a new interview with EW, Feige confirmed everyone's original assumption: those MCU characters will, in fact, appear in Spider-Man's solo films.

“He is in the universe now, and the fun of the universe is that characters go back and forth,” Feige said.

So that obviously opens the door to a ton of character possibilities, but it also opens a host of questions from the business side of things. As The Playlist notes, if an actor appears in a Sony Spider-Man movie, does that count as part of their nine-picture deal with Marvel? Or would those appearances have to be negotiated separately? How much do you think Robert Downey Jr. is going to get paid to show up in a Spider-Man movie? Or maybe those films will provide a good opportunity to introduce The Defenders on the big screen, since they're in the same general geographic area as Spidey?

The first Tom Holland Spider-Man solo film (possibly called Spider-Man: Homecoming, or maybe one of these other choices) hits theaters on July 7, 2017.

Watch: First and Last Shots of Popular TV Shows Side-By-Side

Last year, editor Jacob T. Swinney put together a video that played the first and last shots from movies side by side. The only comment on our post about that video was someone wishing that the editor had written out the names of the films as each comparison came up, and now it looks like Celia Gomez has taken that sentiment to heart. She just released a video that does a similar comparison with TV shows instead of movies, and she did list each show's name under the footage. Check it out and let us know what you think:

Gal Gadot Calls The WONDER WOMAN Solo Film "Pretty Dark"

Though a recent report indicated that DC and Warner Bros. were going to add some humor and beef up fun character moments in their upcoming DC Extended Universe movies, we haven't heard whether or not that mentality extends to Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman solo film. If these comments from star Gal Gadot are accurate, fans should expect for the dark tone of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to continue in that movie. She told DigitalSpy:

"In Batman v Superman, you get a glimpse of who she is but not where she comes from. In Wonder Woman, this would be the first time we ever tell the coming-of-age story of how Diana becomes Wonder Woman. It's very interesting. It has moments of humour, but it's pretty dark. We all saw before the beautiful coming of age of Batman, Spider-Man, Superman. We don't know anything about Wonder Woman."

"Moments of humor" sounds promising. For the millionth time, I don't think that these DC films need to ape the tone of Marvel Studios' movies, but I do think they could serve to lighten up just a little bit more and have some more moments of levity in between deadly serious philosophical conversations that tend to pop up. I don't mind that these movies have a darker tone, but if these characters could just have a little bit of fun while they're battling supervillains, I think it'd go a long way toward making people have more fun watching them.

Gadot also echoed sentiments she's mentioned before about how this version of Wonder Woman will be different than the one we saw in BVS, so I'm interested to see the shades she brings to this character over a 100 year time span between the stories.

Beautiful and Touching Fan-Made SUPERMAN Comic Inspires Hope

I have a wonderful fan-made Superman comic that shows us what Superman is all about. It's a breath of fresh air since Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was released. This little comic beautifully inspires hope and it's really quite touching. The comic was created by Dan Haring and I applaud him for what he's created here. I hope you enjoy it. Careful, though, you might have to fight off some tears.

Behind The Scenes Footage of HARDCORE HENRY's Crazy POV Camerawork

Hardcore Henry is in theaters right now, and if you've seen the film, I'm guessing there were a handful of times where you probably wondered "how the heck did they pull that off?" (Read our review here.) STX Entertainment has released a music video for writer/director Ilya Naishuller's band (called Biting Elbows) that doubles as an awesome behind-the-scenes featurette showing off the wirework and crazy choreography that went into capturing the movie's insane first person POV perspective. Check out that GoPro rig! Very cool.

They also put out an extended clip of a motorcycle chase from the movie. Both clips should be considered NSFW. Let us know what you think below:

Strap in. Hardcore Henry is one of the most unflinchingly original wild-rides to hit the big screen in a long time:  You remember nothing. Mainly because you've just been brought back from the dead by your wife (Haley Bennett). She tells you that your name is Henry. Five minutes later, you are being shot at, your wife has been kidnapped, and you should probably go get her back. Who's got her? His name's Akan (Danila Kozlovsky); he's a powerful warlord with an army of mercenaries, and a plan for world domination. You're also in an unfamiliar city of Moscow, and everyone wants you dead. Everyone except for a mysterious British fellow called Jimmy (Sharlto Copley.) He may be on your side, but you aren't sure. If you can survive the insanity, and solve the mystery, you might just discover your purpose and the truth behind your identity. Good luck, Henry. You're likely going to need it...

Rumor: FABLE LEGENDS Might Still Happen Despite Lionhead Closure

Review: THE BOSS is a Half-Baked Film That Doesn't Work

$

Let me start out by saying I'm rooting for Melissa McCarthy. She seems like a genuinely cool person and a great role model. I was even quick to defend the Ghostbusters reboot because I'm all for women in Hollywood breaking the mold. Which is why I thought I'd give her latest venture, The Boss, a fair chance. This is the second time McCarthy and her husband, Ben Falcone, have co-written a screenplay together, the first being Tammy. I don't know exactly what it is that Falcone and McCarthy are trying to do here, but it isn't working. Did anyone tell them they're not supposed to shoot the first draft of a script?

The Boss stars Melissa McCarthy as Michelle Darnell, a powerful business mogul who's become a financial success by screwing people over. When a scorned ex-lover (Peter Dinklage) turns her in for insider trading, Michelle is sent to prison and all of her assets are seized. Upon her release and with nowhere to go, she moves in with her former assistant, Claire (played by Kristen Bell) and her daughter Rachel. Non-hilarity ensues as Michelle tries to work her way back to the top while adapting to life in the tiny apartment of a hard-working, single mom. With the help of Claire and Rachel, Michelle soon cooks up a plan that will put her back on top. But old habits die hard, and Michelle has to choose between her old selfish ways and her new pseudo-family.

If this plot sounds cliche to you, it's because it is. I don't mind watching a movie with an old, tired plot, but it's got to be executed well, and this was not. It wasn't even really that funny! I laughed a few times, and by that I mean a single, "Ha!" escaped my lips, more out of obligation than sincerity. The pacing was inconsistent at best. It felt like the story was written around the jokes (if you can call them that), rather than jokes being written into the story.

The characters were all underdeveloped. Michelle Darnell was a half-baked character who was supposed to be this eccentric bitch, but came off more like my aunt Joan: someone whose presence makes you mildly uncomfortable because she's a little out of touch with reality and who probably wears too much perfume. This was an empty comedy that decided at the very last minute to try and make the audience feel something, but by then it was too late. We were already dead inside from watching Kristen Bell and Melissa McCarthy paddle each other's boobs. With their clothes on.

Maybe I was too optimistic. But I really thought this could at least be a pretty funny movie. Maybe I thought, "Hey, Bridesmaids was funny. Even Spy had some good laughs. Maybe this one won't be so bad." But I was so very wrong. If you do decide to see this movie, stay for the blooper reel during the end credits. They're funnier than the actual movie.

Level Up With This Eye-Popping PAC-MAN Suit

A company called Opposuits has designed a totally crazy-looking suit inspired by the classic video game Pac-Man, and it looks like they're selling it for only $110. I can't speak to the quality of the suit, but let's be real: if you wear this thing in public, it's not because it's well-made. It's because it's plastered with a crapload of dots, Pac-Man, Inky, Blinky, Pinky, and Clyde, and you want the entire world to gawk at you as you stride on by.

If you walk around wearing this thing and rock one of these pint glasses...well, I have no idea what will happen, but you'll never know until you try. This company also offers a ton of other batsh*t suits, in case you're looking for something even more off the wall than one that makes you look like a walking arcade.

What Rey’s Jedi Training Would Have Been Like If Directed by Quentin Tarantino

One thing that we’ll probably never see is a Star Wars movie directed by Quentin Tarantino. But if Tarantino did direct a Star Wars movie, we have a video here from HISHE that shows us what Rey’s Jedi training would have been like if he depicted it. The video basically gives us the clip of The Bride training in Kill Bill Vol. 2, but this one comes with lightsabers and new dialogue.

SPEEDY GONZALES in The Fast Lane To a Feature-Length Heist Film

For years there have been rumors around Hollywood that a Speedy Gonzales animated movie was coming to the big screen. Originally, George Lopez was slated as the voice of the classic character. According to Deadline, Lopez is out and Eugenio Derbez (Instructions Not Included, Book of Life) is in as the world’s fastest mouse. This is what the actor had to say about the project:

"In Mexico we grew up watching Speedy Gonzales. He was like a superhero to us, or maybe more like a revolutionario like Simon Bolivar or Pacho Villa. He watched out for the little people but with a lot of bravado and a weakness for the ladies. I’m really excited to be bringing this character to the big screen. And besides being Mexican— my full name is Eugenio Derbez Gonzalez and I have big ears. The casting couldn’t be better."

The in-development project, which is tentatively entitled Speedy, will be produced by Dylan Sellers via Rivers Edge Films and Derbez and Ben Odell via their 3pas Studios. Hank Nelken (Are We Done Yet?, Saving Silverman) has been hired to script the story, which is described as a heist caper. The new iteration of the project (which apparently was originally spilled by the Tracking Board) will likely be cut into both English- and Spanish-speaking versions.

“We see this as an origin story of the great master, like a Robin Hood character, who ultimately ends up taking from the rich and giving to the poor,” said Sellers. “In a time when Donald Trump is gaining momentum, the world needs Speedy more than ever.”

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the character of Speedy Gonzales...political correctness and all of that. Do you feel that Speedy is worth getting a full-length feature? I feel that it will be fun to watch if it ever makes it through development.

Insanely Cool Batman and Star Wars Mashup Helmet

I think we’ve all seen some Batman and Star Wars mashups throughout the years, but this helmet design is one of the coolest that I’ve seen. It was created by propsman Julian Checkley and it combines Batman’s iconic cowl with a Scout Trooper helmet.

The helmet was created as part of the Biker Scout Helmet project, which is a Lucasfilm-approved effort that brings in creative individuals to make interesting custom helmets based on those worn by Scout Troopers. They helmets will be auctioned off for charity.

This is one of forty helmets being auctioned to raise money for Star Wars: Force For Change. You can check out some more photos, along with a demo video, below.

A few new pieces of concept art have surfaced for Captain America: Civil War and they feature Falcon and War Machine engaging in battle. There are also pieces that include Black Panther, Iron Man, Captain America, and more. There’s no information on who created the illustrations, but they offer us an awesome look at what we can expect to see in some of these battle sequences. Captain America: Civil War is set to be released on May 6th, so we’re almost there and I can’t wait! I also included a photo from the film at the bottom featuring Black Panther fighting Winter Soldier.

Working out choreography for the dance scene.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Actor Dave Bautista Officially Joins BLADE RUNNER 2

Earlier this week, Guardians of the Galaxy actor Dave Bautista posted an image teasing that he would be joining the cast of Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner 2. Well, it’s officially been confirmed and the actor will join Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, and Robin Wright in the movie. There’s no information on who he will be playing, but the press release said that it’s an important supporting role.

The film is set several decades after the 1982 classic, and Ford is reprising his iconic role as Rick Deckard. The sequel is being directed Denis Villeneuve (Sicario, Prisoners) and he will start shooting in July of 2016. The film is written by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green.

Bautista recently appeared in the latest installment of the James Bond franchise, Spectre. Some of his upcoming projects include Lionsgate’s 2016 action film Marauders, starring Bruce Willis, as well as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, in which he reprises his role as Drax the Destroyer. It will be fun to see who he ends up playing in this film.

Blade Runner 2 hits theaters on January 12, 2018.

Intense and Eerie Sci-Fi Horror Short Film THE IMOM

I’ve got a fascinating and crazy nightmarish sci-fi short film for you to watch today called The iMom. It was directed by Ariel Martin and it packs quite a powerful punch that I wasn’t expecting. The short centers on a mother who leaves her kids home in the care of a robot mom called The iMom, which is a revolutionary invention that has transformed the way of parenting in the near future. Here’s the brief synopsis:

The iMom will change your life! Well, at least that’s what the ads claim. But when a mother leaves her kids under the supervision of the family’s iMom, an unexpected connection is formed.

The short tells a slow burn type of story that gives off a subtle creepy vibe and dark tone. It’s really a well-made, nicely executed film that turned out to be quite riveting.

It also has some of the most insanely awesome fight sequences ever! Seriously, this movie is going to blow minds! Don't believe me? Well, here are several other reactions from the screening to back me up!

Everything You Need to Watch for the Incredible '80s Music Comedy SING STREET

$

Sing Street was one of the best films that I saw at Sundance earlier this year. It's a musical comedy set in 1980s Ireland that audiences are going to love because it's so damn charming. The movie was written and directed by John Carney, who previously brought us the music-themed films Once and Begin Again. As much as I enjoyed both of those films, Sing Street is definitely my favorite of the three. If you haven't read our review for the film yet make sure to click here.

I realized that I haven't posted a lot of stuff on this film and found a ton of promotional material that I somehow completely missed. So, below you'll find a trailer, TV spot, some clips, and music videos giving you a little taste of what this movie has to offer. You can check all of those videos out below.

SING STREET takes us back to 1980s Dublin seen through the eyes of a 14-year-old boy named Conor (Ferdia Walsh-Peelo) who is looking for a break from a home strained by his parents’ relationship and money troubles, while trying to adjust to his new inner-city public school where the kids are rough and the teachers are rougher. He finds a glimmer of hope in the mysterious, über-cool and beautiful Raphina (Lucy Boynton), and with the aim of winning her heart he invites her to star in his band’s music videos. There’s only one problem: he’s not part of a band…yet. She agrees, and now Conor must deliver what he’s promised - calling himself “Cosmo” and immersing himself in the vibrant rock music trends of the decade, he forms a band with a few lads, and the group pours their heart into writing lyrics and shooting videos. Inspired by writer/director John Carney’s (ONCE, BEGIN AGAIN) life and love for music, SING STREET shows us a world where music has the power to take us away from the turmoil of everyday life and transform us into something greater.

The movie hits theaters on April 15th so make sure to check it out! Oh, and if you want to If you want to check out the whole soundtrack, it’s available on iTunes.
