These new photos from an upcoming episode of The Flash give us a look at the first female speedster on the series. The name of the character is Trajectory, and she is being played by Allison Paige. Trajectory has a solid character design and a pretty cool, badass style. It'll be fun to actually see her in action!

The episode is called “Trajectory,” and it's officially described as follows:

“Deciding to blow off some steam, Barry and the team head out for a night on the town only to encounter an unexpected speedster who is up to no good. Iris is challenged by an assignment from her new boss (guest star Tone Bell), and is surprised when friction turns to flirtation.”

“Trajectory” is scheduled to air Tuesday, March 22nd on The CW. You can check out several other photos from the episode below.

Brother Teaches His Little Sister About STAR WARS

Super cute alert, these kids are adorable! This big brother is teaching his little sister about the world of Star Wars by reading a children's book to her. It's actually kind of surprising how he gives his description of each character! He goes beyond the book in some cases and starts giving some analysis in a way only a little geek can! I especially like how he breaks down Yoda's speech pattern. Congrats, Will Macky! You must be a proud dad.

Details on a Twisted GOONIES-Inspired Reboot of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET

$

Now this is a crazy version of a Nightmare on Elm Street reboot that I could get behind! Before the disappointing 2010 reboot happened with Jackie Earle Haley and Rooney Mara, French filmmakers Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo were developing a version of the film that sounds like it would have been awesome. Unfortunately, New Line Cinema and Platinum Dunes went with director Samuel Bayer for some reason, and we all know how that turned out.

Bloody-Disgusting recently interviewed Maury and Bustillo and talked to them about their vision for Freddy Krueger that never happened. Their pitch is explained as a Goonies-inspired take on the franchise involving kids being terrorized by Freddy instead of teenagers.

“Our idea of a good remake is to have a new vision on the same thematics. Here it was to really use the fact that Krueger is a child molester. So the idea was to have a twisted version of the Goonies with a bunch of kids being stalked. We thought it would have been great for a remake to switch the teenagers of the original with real kids. Beside childhood is the moment in life when you are truly and deeply frightened by nightmares, when you’re not able to see the difference between reality and dreams…”

That would have been an incredibly demented movie. Can you imagine the terrifying monster of Freddy Krueger haunting and killing a group of little kids? It's such an insane idea! But it’s a really great idea as well. That’s a film that would push the boundaries and make people uncomfortable. Killing adults playing teenagers is fine, but innocent children? That’s jacked up, and that’s why I think it would have worked so well as a horror film. It would have had a shocking impact! But having that Goonies-style adventure vibe would have made it incredibly fun!

Too bad the studio and the production companies wouldn’t go for it. I imagine it was just too dark for them. Maury and Bustillo have directed a Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel called Leatherface that will be released later this year. According to the report, it’s “absolutely insane!”

Adam Savage Builds the HELLBOY Sword From the Comics

I knew you were suffering from Mythbusters withdrawals, so I managed to dig this up for a quick fix. Adam Savage is a big Hellboy fan apparently! He doesn't just like the films either, as the video might suggest. In this longish (about 30 minutes) video Savage recreates his favorite weapon of Hellboy's, a sword. Not as fancy as the gun, but he already has one of those! The final result is pretty damn impressive! Check it out below.

Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson Bring THAT '70s SHOW Vibes to Netflix Trailer THE RANCH

I got a huge That '70s Show vibe watching the trailer for Netflix new show The Ranch. It could have something to do with the fact that both Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson are teaming up again for a television comedy, but it also seems like Sam Elliott is playing an R-rated Red Foreman? Here's a description of the show...

Set in the present day on a Colorado ranch, THE RANCH stars Ashton Kutcher as Colt, a failed semi-pro football player who returns home to run the family ranching business with his older brother Jameson “Rooster” (Danny Masterson) and father Beau (Sam Elliott), whom he hasn’t seen in 15 years. Debra Winger stars as Colt’s and Rooster’s mother, Maggie, who runs the local town bar.

Masterson and Kutcher are both executive producers for the series, along with two of the guys behind Two And A Half Men. I'm pretty excited for this, are you? No release date yet, so stay tuned!

I'm laughing so hard right now. Stinkhead deserves all the credit in the world for actually taking the time to create a Playmobil playset for The Witch, and then film children playing with it for a commercial! Truthfully, if he were selling the playset I would buy it in a heart beat. Check it out below!

Adventure Filled New Trailer For Laika's Martial Arts Film KUBO AND THE TWO STRINGS

Laika has released a new full trailer for their upcoming fantasy-inspired martial arts film Kubo and the Two Strings. This movie looks like a delightful adventure and as a fan of Laika's previous films, I'm really stoked about this one. Laika is the stop-motion animated studio that previously brought us films such as Coraline, The Boxtrolls, and Paranorman. I think there's a good chance that Kubo and the Two Strings could end up being their best to date. I just absolutely love what I've seen in the trailer. It's so damn beautiful!

The movie has an incredibly impressive voice cast that includes Matthew McConaughey, Charlize Theron, Rooney Mara, Ralph Fiennes, and George Takei. Here's the official synopsis:

Clever, kindhearted Kubo (voiced by Art Parkinson of Game of Thrones) ekes out a humble living, telling stories to the people of his seaside town including Hosato (George Takei), Akihiro (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa) and Kameyo (Brenda Vaccaro). But his relatively quiet existence is shattered when he accidentally summons a spirit from his past which storms down from the heavens to enforce an age-old vendetta. Now on the run, Kubo joins forces with Monkey (Charlize Theron) and Beetle (Matthew McConaughey), and sets out on a thrilling quest to save his family and solve the mystery of his fallen father, the greatest samurai warrior the world has ever known. With the help of his shamisen - a magical musical instrument - Kubo must battle gods and monsters, including the vengeful Moon King (Ralph Fiennes) and the evil twin Sisters (Rooney Mara) to unlock the secret of his legacy, reunite his family and fulfill his heroic destiny.

The movie was directed by Travis Knight, and it opens in theaters on August 19th, 2016.

Spider-Man Finally Unleashed in New Trailer For CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

Finally! This is what the fans have been waiting to see.

Disney and Marvel have just released a brand new trailer for Captain America: Civil War, and the most important bit of new footage involves the official unveiling of Spider-Man. Check out the trailer at the bottom of the page, then hop back up here for some quick analysis.

There are so many cool shots in this trailer, starting with the one of Sebastian Stan's Bucky/Winter Soldier in that containment facility and finishing with the Spider-Man reveal at the very end. General Ross shows the new Avengers lineup footage of all the destruction they've been a part of in recent years, which is hard for them to watch — especially Scarlet Witch, who experienced the effects of that level of destruction firsthand.

We all know the basic story of the movie by now, but there's some nice setup between Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) that establishes where they stand on the issue of government regulation of superhero activity. We get a better look at the highway chase between Black Panther and Bucky, which looks like an awesome display of Black Panther's speed and abilities.

The trailer makes us think that Winter Soldier shoots War Machine out of the sky, though if you slow it down and look at the backgrounds, those two shots don't match up. (I'm not saying Bucky doesn't shoot Rhodey down, but if it does happen, it probably doesn't go down exactly as depicted here.) That event appears to be the big turning point in the movie, and Tony's proclamation of "I was wrong about you. The whole world was wrong about you," cuts right to the core of these characters' relationship that's been built over these movies thus far.

A little while later, there's a montage of many of the team members in action, including new addition Ant-Man jumping off of Hawkeye's arrow, before Cap is decked by Crossbones. Then there's that shot of the two sides facing off at the airport that looks like the opening of X-Men: The Animated Series, and the official introduction of Tom Holland's Spidey into the MCU. It makes perfect sense that Tony would call Peter Parker "Underoos," too, so there's a nice lighthearted character moment amid all of these serious events.

There's also a new poster and a few new photos that came along with it, so check those out at the bottom of the page.

What do you think about the trailer?

Captain America: Civil War arrives in theaters on May 6.

Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desirefor the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability. Get ready to pick a side and join the nonstop action playing out on two fronts when Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” opens in U.S. theaters on May 6, 2016.

STAR WARS Star Daisy Ridley Could Play Lara Croft in TOMB RAIDER Reboot

After seeing Daisy Ridley in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, I think a lot of us knew that she was going to be a big star. She already has a great role in a huge franchise, but now it sounds like there's a chance she could join another big film series.

According to Deadline, the 23-year-old British actress is up for the iconic role of Lara Croft in Warner Bros. and MGM's upcoming Tomb Raider reboot. She is one of a number of actresses being considered for the role, and she would be freakin' amazing! She is such a wonderful fit for the role and it's easy to imagine her in that adventurous world.

The report goes on to say that she has had conversations with the studio, but there is no official offer yet. I would love to see this happen. Now that she's in my mind as Lara Croft, I can't imagine anyone better in the part!

The new Tomb Raider film is being directed by Norwegian filmmaker Roar Uthaug (The Wave) and it is said to be an origin story for Croft and that it is inspired by 2013 video game reboot. When talking about the film recently, the director said:

"I think making Lara Croft feel like a real human being, that's definitely something we want to bring to the big screen as well. I think we'll want to make people relate to Lara as a character. I'm hoping to bring some of my Norwegian sensibilities to the franchise."

He also wants to bring a Raiders of the Lost Ark vibe to the film. This really could be a great movie, especially with Ridley involved. What do you all think about her possibly landing the lead role?

I saw a screenshot similar to the one you saw above from Chris Carlson's Street Fighter-themed chalk art, and I'll be honest — my first thought was, "Meh, I've seen stuff like this before. Guy inserts himself into video game. So what?" But I'm glad I saw Carlson's work in motion, because it's way cooler than just digitally dropping himself into game footage: he actually created the background using chalk art, and then created a video of himself "fighting" with his own artwork. Very cool.

Andy Samberg Wields Mjolnir in Red-Band Trailer For POPSTAR: NEVER STOP NEVER STOPPING

$

Why is a clueless musician named Conner (Andy Samberg) swinging Thor's hammer in the first red-band trailer for Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping? I have no idea, but it somehow seems to fit in with all of the other craziness you'd expect from The Lonely Island.

Popstar follows "singer/rapper Conner4Real (Samberg) [as he] faces a crisis of popularity after his sophomore album flops, leaving his fans, sycophants and rivals all wondering what to do when he’s no longer the dopest star of all." This red-band trailer has an F-bomb and a topless woman in it, so take that into account before you fire this up at the office.

The collection of cameos looks pretty impressive, with people like Usher, Adam Levine, Bill Hader, Tim Meadows, Sarah Silverman, Will Forte, and more, but as we saw in Zoolander 2, cameos alone aren't going to be enough to save the movie. Thankfully, these guys have always been hilarious, so I have faith that the movie will be more than just a parade of famous people walking through the frame.

Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping hits theaters on June 3.

Watch: CREED Recut to Look Like a 1990s VHS Release

Mashable is back with another of its Watercooler series of remix videos, and this one imagines what Ryan Coogler's boxing spin-off Creed would look like if it were released on VHS tape in the '90s. The tracking, awful puns, and cheesy voiceover are pretty spot-on. Creed was one of my favorite films of 2015, and if you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend checking it out. THE DARK TOWER Casts One of Its Main Characters, The Young Jake Chambers

$

0

After a worldwide search, Sony and Media Rights Capital have cast actor Tom Taylor as the young Jake Chambers in the upcoming film adaptation of Stephen King's The Dark Tower.

Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey are already on board to star as gunslinger Roland Deschain and the mysterious Man in Black (respectively). The film won't be a straight adaptation of the first book in the series (which is called The Gunslinger), but will instead jump into the middle of the multi-book story of Roland's quest to find the titular tower. Since this movie will apparently take place largely "in our day, in the modern world," fans speculate that it might be more of an adaptation of the third book in the series, which is titled The Waste Lands.

In the story, Jake Chambers is a young protege of the gunslinger's. Taylor is a relative newcomer with only a few episodes of television to his name; he appeared in a British series called Doctor Foster, and as a young version of Sean Bean's character on TNT's Legends.

Nikolaj Arcel is directing The Dark Tower, and the film is set for release on February 17, 2017. As far as I know, plans are still in place for this to be at least a trilogy with a TV show component as well, but as of right now, this movie is the only one that's received an official greenlight. I guess they're waiting to see how it does before they fully decide to go ahead with a continuation of the story.

Mad Max: Fury Road actress Abbey Lee already has a role, and Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul is rumored to be joining the production as well. Shooting begins in South Africa in six weeks, so I expect we'll hear some more casting news soon.

Here's an entertaining short film from director Max Sherman titled "But I'd Really Have To Kill You" that pokes fun at the inane small talk that happens all the time in office environments. This hit Vimeo a few months ago, but I'm just catching it now thanks to GeeksAreSexy. It made me laugh, so I figured I'd pass it along in case you haven't seen it yet. Any of you who have worked in a place like this will almost certainly find that it rings true. Ben York Jones (Douchebag, Like Crazy) and Tim Baltz (Drunk History) star.

Here's the first trailer for HBO's new comedy Vice Principals, which brings Eastbound & Down star Danny McBride back to the premium network alongside Justified and The Shield star Walton Goggins. They play high school vice principals who are competing for the head principal job, and it looks like they're both willing to go to some insane lengths to secure that position. The show premieres in July, and it's already been picked up for 18 half-hour episodes spread across two seasons. McBride created the show with long-time producing partner David Gordon Green, who will be executive producing.

Let us know what you think about the trailer — does this look like another comedy hit from HBO?

100+ Screenshots from the New CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Trailer and Commentary

I'm sure by now you've seen the new Captain America: Civil War trailer. I've watching it about 15 times already and went through it frame-by-frame because... well, why wouldn't I!? This trailer was completely badass! This movie is going to be freakin' incredible, and on top of that we finally got our first look at Spider-Man! A lot of fans don't seem very happy with the new look for Spider-Man, but as a long-time fan of the character, who grew up reading the comics... I freakin' love it! They gave him an awesome classic retro look that we had never seen before in the films, and he even has eye movement, which is so damn cool.

You can go through the collection of screenshots below. Some of which I included some commentary too. Everything else is pretty much easy to follow. Enjoy, and let us know what you think about some of the questions I raise!
