i-present-to-you-the-harley-quinn-leg-lamp

This wonderfully geektastic Harley Quinn leg lamp belongs in a world where A Christmas Story is set in Gotham City. It’s a pretty fun, lovely item, but now I just want to see a version of that classic Christmas movie set in a 1940s Gotham City.

This lamp is kickin'! Styled like Harley Quinn and perfect for any fan of the classic DC Comics character! Both the leg and the lamp light up, adding a glow to any room. Including the full-size shade, the Batman Harley Quinn 20-Inch Leg Lamp is approximately 20-inches tall x 19-inches wide and has a 5-foot cord. Main light uses one 40-watt bulb (not included) and leg light uses one 5-watt type C bulb (included).

The lamp is being sold at Entertainment Earth, and if you want one it will run you almost $40.

10 Actors Who Refuse to Use Stunt Doubles in Their Movies

Sometimes making movies can be a dangerous job — especially when it comes to action films. Most of the time when a character is put in a dangerous situation in a scene, a stunt double is brought in to fill in for the actor. However, there are some actors out there that like the thrill of the danger, and they don’t want someone else to have all the fun.

ScreenRant has released a video that breaks down ten actors who do their own movie stunts. Some of them include Harrison Ford, Tom Cruise, Keanu Reeves, Jason Statham, and more.

Action movies are known for placing the hero in ail biting life or death situations where there’s danger at every turn. Sometimes the sequences are so risky, the filmmakers will enlist the help of a stunt double so their lead stays safe. But then there are the real daredevils in Hollywood who prefer to do as much as possible themselves to ensure maximum authenticity. Here are Screen Rant’s 10 Actors Who Refuse to Use Stunt Doubles.

This LEGO xenomorph was inspired by Ridley Scott’s classic film Alien. It was created by the Arvo Brothers, and they’ve released a project design book that gives you a step-by-step guide on how to build your own.

Inspired by the works of geniuses H.R. Giger and Ron Cobb, this new project presented us with an opportunity to build one of the greatest icons of fantasy art. A journey from organic to geometric shapes, from dark to light, and the deep admiration that drives us to build all our creations as our only luggage. This book includes detailed, step-to-step instructions showing how to build the model, together with comments, pictures and diagrams that help the description and will contribute to your understanding of the entire process.

I love this design and that they even managed to include xenomorph drool. To get the instructions on how to build this bad boy, click here.

Director Rupert Sanders has cast Japanese actor Takeshi “Beat” Kitano in his big screen live-action adaptation of Ghost the Shell. Kitano is an iconic actor in Japan who hasn't starred in an American film since Keanu Reeves’ Johnny Mnemonic in 1995.

The actor will take on the role of Daisuke Aramaki, who is the founder and leader of the elite task force Section 9 which is devoted to stopping dangerous criminals and extremists. Scarlett Johansson plays the lead in the film as a female Special Ops cyborg that is a part of Section 9.

Kitano also joins Michael Pitt, who is playing the villain in the story who's known as the Laughing Man. The character is described as "a bitter and vengeful man with a body that is part robot. He has a unique sense of style and has been described as a bad guy filtered through the lens of a street artist."

Paramount will release the film in the U.S. on March 31, 2017. At least we know there will be at least one Japanese actor in the movie.

Machinima has released the first full trailer for their upcoming new Street Fighter mini web series Street Fighter: Resurrection. It looks like it could be pretty fun. If you liked what they did with Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist, then I'm sure you'll want to check out this one.

The series consist of four episodes and is set a decade after the events in Assassin’s Fist. This is the synopsis that came along with the video:

The series brings back the iconic Street Fighter character long-presumed dead, Charlie Nash (Alain Moussi, Suicide Squad, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Pacific Rim).  Additionally, the series features cameos from top Machinima influencers including Amy Johnston from Bat In The Sun Productions’ (1.5M YouTube subscribers, 435K Facebook fans) and Terroriser, who is best known for his auto-tuning gaming videos and vlog series (1.35M YouTube subscribers, 467K Twitter followers, 363K Instagram followers).
In Resurrection, heroes Ken and Ryu are reunited to face an ominous new threat. Charlie Nash is back, and targeting legendary Street Fighter champions in a mysterious mission. After a violent confrontation with Nash, Ryu and Ken must uncover his lethal plan and find out if he is friend or foe.  As events speed toward a showdown in London with the resurgent Shadaloo cartel, covert forces battle for global supremacy with the fate of the world hanging in the balance.

The series reunites the same team that created Assassin's Fist, which includes producers Jacqueline Quella and Mark Wooding. Ansah is writing and directing the series and original actors Mike Moh (Empire) and Christian Howard (The World’s End) reprise their roles as Ryu and Ken.

striking-red-sonja-1/6th-scale-collectible-action-figure

The fantasy female warrior character Red Sonja gets her own 1/6th scale collectible action figure, thanks to Executive Replicas and Entertainment Earth. Red Sonja, a.k.a. “She-Devil with a Sword,” made her first appearance in Marvel Comics in 1973. I’ve been a fan of this character for a long time, so it’s cool to see the beautiful and deadly warrior get her own action figure.

The She-Devil, Red Sonja, is now a highly detailed and fully articulated action figure! This Red Sonja 1:6 Scale Action Figure features the character with a Phicen female seamless body that measures 12-inches tall, and comes complete with 3 pairs of interchangeable gloved hands along with earrings, a faux fur hooded coat, faux fur boots, bikini style battle top, bikini style battle bottom, shoulder guard, thigh band with chains, knee guards, arm bands, sword belt, pouch belt with pouch, sword with sheath, dagger with sheath, battle ax, shield, plus base and stand!
Red Sonja - outlaw, mercenary, warrior, and queen. After escaping her bloody origin, she hunted the wilderlands of Hyrkania, theived the streets and palaces of Pah-Disha, sold her sword on battlefields from Koth to Aquilonia, and liberated countless mugs of ale from barrels throughout the Hyborean world. Red Sonja slew the king who tried to possess her and freed the world from the dark sourcery of Kulan Gathe. Forced to flee her home-land, she rode west across the Turanian Steppes and into the shadowed mists of legendry.

You can add the fiery Red Sonja to your toy collection for $164.99. You can pre-order it here.

Is This a Leaked Teaser Trailer for STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE?

$
0
0

It seems like a teaser trailer has leaked for Lucasfilm's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. This is a teaser that could be attached to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. It looks like it could be legit, but there is one thing that makes me doubt that it's real. At the very end of the trailer the title card has Rogue One listed as an "Anthology" film but we know that had been changed a while back to "A Star Wars Story."  So unless Disney and Lucasfilm changed the standalone films back to "Anthology", then this is probably a fake. I also want to point out that it seems like a step back from the first teaser that was released last year, which I also included below. It has some cool new footage, but the presentation isn't as enthralling.

We also have some details regarding an official trailer that was recently screened at Disney's shareholder meeting. The following description comes from CBM:

Most of it was quick...a shot of a black stormtrooper, possibly called Death Troopers as previously reported and another shot of the same style of helmet and armor but all chrome, reminiscent of Captain Phasma from The Force Awakens, an image showed two AT-AT's that had a slightly different look with the door panel on the side of the body painted a slight lighter beige color. And a couple of cast photos were shown, one of Felicity and Diego Luna and another of Donnie Yen. The clip featured Felicity's character on what looked like the inside of a ship or shuttle and her arm up holding on to a hatch/ramp open behind her. I wish i could remember what she said as part of the sizzle but it all went by too fast. The new stormtroopers looked great.

This is description is different from the "leaked" teaser trailer that you will see in the video below. Check it out and let us know what you think! Is this real or do you think it's a fake? I guess we'll know if it's real or a fake if Disney takes it down off YouTube.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story opens on December 16th, 2016 and regardless of not if this is real, I'm still excited as hell!

Heavy Metal Tribute to MISTER ROGERS' NEIGHBORHOOD

Guitarist Eric Calderone (aka 331Erock) is always posting rockin’ heavy metal versions of popular and classic theme songs. He has now released one for the classic children’s show Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. As you’ll see, there’s a touching reverence and respect in his performance to the show and Mister Rogers. I love what he’s done with the theme in making the transformation to heavy metal.

"So I was thinking. There seriously has been a ton of things Mister Rogers said on TV when I was a kid that I still try and practice today. Literally one of my heroes to this day. And I didn’t realize it as a kid either but Johnny Costa (the pianist) improved the songs every show and absolutely shredded them haha. So I figured why not give Mister Roger’ tunes a shot."

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Ditches His SANDMAN Film Project… Bummer

$

0

Bad news for all of you who were looking forward to Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s big screen adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s Sandman, he has dropped out of the project. The news came from Gordon-Levitt himself, saying the reason he dropped out was due to creative differences with New Line Cinema, who Warner Bros. handed the project off to along with all of DC Comics other Vertigo properties.

The news hit not long after is was announced that the studio had hired The Conjuring 2 screenwriter Eric Heisserer to take a crack at the script. Apparently everything was going fine with the project until New Line came into the picture. Gordon-Levitt offered a full explanation of his departure below on his Facebook page:

“So, as you might know if you like to follow these sorts of things, a while back, David Goyer and I made a producing deal with Warner Brothers to develop a movie adaptation of Neil Gaiman's SANDMAN. Neil himself came on as an executive producer, we hired the excellent screenwriter, Jack Thorne, and we started in on the ambitious task of adapting one of the most beloved and boundary-pushing titles in the world of comics. I was pleased with the progress we were making, even though we still had quite a ways to go.
“Recently, as you also might know if you like to follow these sorts of things, the sorta "ownership" (for lack of a better term) of the Sandman material changed hands when Warner Brothers shifted the entire catalogue of Vertigo comics (an imprint of DC) to their subsidiary, New Line. And a few months ago, I came to realize that the folks at New Line and I just don't see eye to eye on what makes Sandman special, and what a film adaptation could/should be. So unfortunately, I decided to remove myself from the project. I wish nothing but the best for the team moving forward.
“I’d like to thank all the great people I've had the opportunity to work with on this one. I've had a blast with and learned a ton from David and Jack. Niija Kuykendall, Greg Silverman, and everyone at Warner Brothers have been fantastic, as have Geoff Johns and everyone at DC. And it's been a particular privilege as well as a rocking good time getting to know Mr. Gaiman, whose generous insights and masterful work have certainly convinced me that the Lord of Dreams and the Prince of Stories are one and the same Endless pattern.”

That’s discouraging. I always felt that Gordon-Levitt was going to be the guy to give fans the best adaptation of Sandman we could get. He seems to have an understanding of the character that the studio obviously doesn't, which is a shame. The studio thinks that they know best and were stubborn enough to push one of the film projects greatest assets out of it.

At least Gordon-Levitt believed in his vision so much that he wasn't willing to compromise it and give into the studio pressure. I was really excited about this film project, but now that excitement has died down. Now, I don't think this film will be as good as it could have been has Gordon-Levitt been able to give us his vision of the character.

DEADPOOL Fever is Taking Over The World! Watch This Deadpool Flash Mob Video

I had a feeling that Deadpool would be a successful film, but I had no idea it would be as successful as it has become. It recently surpassed The Passion of the Christ as the biggest rated-R movie ever. That, my friends, is impressive shit.

Deadpool fever is quickly spreading, and the character is now more popular than he’s ever been. There’s a flash mob group in in South Korea that call themselves the K-Tigers, who organized a Deadpool-themed flash mob earlier this month to pay tribute to Marvel’s craziest anti-hero character. The video you’re about to watch turned out fantastically entertaining; these guys have some impressively slick dance moves.

New Teaser For Hulu’s Cult Drama THE PATH Starring Aaron Paul

Hulu’s The Path is a mysterious project that we still don’t really know much about. What we do know is that it's a cult drama that focuses on “a family at the center of a controversial faith-based movement struggling with relationships, marriage, and power.”

The series has a solid cast that includes Aaron Paul and Michelle Monaghan who play the husband and wife in the story, Eddie and Sarah Lane. The series also stars Hugh Dancy as one of the leaders of the movement.

Thanks to THR, we have a new promo teaser for you to watch that offers footage from the series along with an interview with Paul in which he talks about his character, saying:

"He had an eye-opening moment where he realizes he just doesn't buy anything that they're preaching anymore. He's afraid because he knows there's a possibility he could lose his entire family."

I’ve also included a promo poster that features Monaghan's character Sarah looking a little stressed out. The Path premieres on March 30th, and I’ll definitely be tuning in to watch it!

BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN Illustration By Chris Stevens

The Bride of Frankenstein is my favorite classic Universal monster movie. I showed it to my kids for the first time last Halloween, and they loved it, too. As a tribute to the classic film, artist Chris Stevens created this beautiful illustration of the Bride. Universal Pictures is currently in the process of developing a remake in which they hope to get Angelina Jolie on board to star in the film. It will be interesting to see what comes of that. As of right now, I’m just basking in the glory of this great art!

The SUSPIRIA Remake Seems to Be Moving Forward with Tilda Swinton and Dakota Johnson

$

The remake of Dario Argento’s psychedelic 1977 horror film Suspiria seems to still be moving forward. This film has been in development for years. It started off with David Gordon Green at the helm, and then when he dropped out, a director by the name of Luca Guadagnino stepped in to take his place. He previously talked about the film:

"The film by Dario Argento was a very indicative moment of growing up for me because I saw it when I was 14. I think it changed me forever. I was obsessed [with Argento] through all my adolescence. [My version] is going to be set in Berlin in 1977. It’s going to be about the mother and the concept of motherhood and about the uncompromising force of motherhood. It’s going to be about finding your inner voice – the title is very evocative on these grounds."

The most recent news I’ve seen confirms the 1977 Berlin setting and also reveals that Tilda Swinton (Hail, Caesar!) and Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey) will be starring in the film. The news comes from a Q&A with the director and was posted on Twitter. I think Swinton is a great actress, but I’m still not sold on Johnson. She hasn’t given a performance yet that has impressed me, so I don’t care for her taking part in the film if the news is true.

Those notes also tell us that Guadagnino wants John Adams to score the film and that this will be his most "Fassbinderian of his films." Rainer Werner Fassbinder is a German filmmaker who obviously inspired Guadagnino in his vision of this property.

The original film centered on a young girl named Suzy, who arrives in Freiburg to attend a renowned ballet academy, only to discover that it's a front for a powerful coven of witches. Guadagnino also talked about that vision:

“[It] will be very different. The movie by Dario Argento was maybe a child of its own times. It's very delicate; almost childish. I have a very strong interest in German literature and film, so I think [my] Suspiria will have to focus very strongly on that moment in history, in 1977, when Germany was divided and a new generation was claiming and asking to recognise the debt of guilt that forged the new Germany after the war against the fathers who wanted to deny the responsibility."

I think this new concept is intriguing, and if the film actually ends up going into production, I’d love to see how it turns out.

Kevin Costner Joins 1960s-Set Space Film HIDDEN FIGURES

Ever since Kevin Costner did The Hatfields and The McCoys for the History Channel, his career got a second wind. He’s now set to star in a new film project called Hidden Figures. The story is set in the 1960s, and this is a brief summary we got thanks to Variety:

The story centers on Johnson, a brilliant African-American mathematician who, along with her colleagues Dorothy Vaughn and Mary Jackson, served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in U.S. history — the momentous launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, and his safe return. Glenn flew the Friendship 7 mission in 1962 and became the first American to orbit the Earth. The three women crossed all gender, race and professional boundaries by embarking on the mission.

Costner will play the head of the NASA space program and he will be joined by Taraji P. Henson (Empire) as Katherine Johnson and Octavia Spencer (The Help) in an unspecified role. This movie reunites Costner and Spencer, who co-starred in the racial drama Black or White.

The film is based on an upcoming book by Margot Lee Shetterly called Hidden Figures: The Story of the African-American Women Who Helped Win the Space Race. The book is being adapted into script form by Allison Schroeder (Mean Girls 2). Here's the book description:

Set against the backdrop of the Jim Crow South and the civil rights movement, the never-before-told true story of NASA’s African-American female mathematicians who played a crucial role in America’s space program—and whose contributions have been unheralded, until now.

Before John Glenn orbited the Earth or Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, a group of professionals worked as “Human Computers,” calculating the flight paths that would enable these historic achievements. Among these were a coterie of bright, talented African-American women. Segregated from their white counterparts by Jim Crow laws, these “colored computers,” as they were known, used slide rules, adding machines, and pencil and paper to support America’s fledgling aeronautics industry, and helped write the equations that would launch rockets, and astronauts, into space.

Drawing on the oral histories of scores of these “computers,” personal recollections, interviews with NASA executives and engineers, archival documents, correspondence, and reporting from the era, Hidden Figures recalls America’s greatest adventure and NASA’s groundbreaking successes through the experiences of five spunky, courageous, intelligent, determined, and patriotic women: Dorothy Vaughan, Mary Jackson, Katherine Johnson, Christine Darden, and Gloria Champine.

Moving from World War II through NASA’s golden age, touching on the civil rights era, the Space Race, the Cold War, and the women’s rights movement, Hidden Figures interweaves a rich history of scientific achievement and technological innovation with the intimate stories of five women whose work forever changed the world—and whose lives show how out of one of America’s most painful histories came one of its proudest moments.

Costner will next be seen in the action-thriller Criminal, which opens on April 15th.
