Intense Opening Cinematic For ATTACK ON TITAN

I guess it seems redundant to call anything that involves Attack on Titan intense! It's what the franchise thrives on, and the game is no exception. The game looks amazing, and is currently only available to the Sony brand (PS4/PS3/Vita). That's a damn shame! I was really looking forward to... View Full Post on GameTyrant

Suit Up With This MAN OF STEEL-Inspired Medieval Armor

With Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice finally coming out next month, it's probably about time to revisit Zack Snyder's 2013 film Man of Steel. I remember really liking the movie at the time, though the whole "Superman unintentionally destroying Metropolis, not going out of his way to save civilian lives, and making out with Lois on a pile of rubble" final act didn't sit very well with me. That's since become the big debate about the Superman reboot, and as much as the filmmakers strangely keep saying that the new movie won't address people's issues with that movie, the trailers indicate that addressing those issues is actually going to be a major part of the plot.

In any case, FashionablyGeek has pointed us to this cool Man of Steel-inspired armor, which was designed by Samuel Lee of Prince Armory. The Kryptonian symbol on the front is seamlessly worked into a leather-constructed recreation of old medieval-style armor, including a helmet that looks like something Lord Zedd from Power Rangers might wear.

Gorgeous Pair of JURASSIC PARK Posters by Kilian Eng

I feel confident calling Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park one of the best movies ever made. It works on every single level: character, story, action, suspense, and that classic sense of wonder that no one but The Beard can conjure.

Artist Kilian Eng, whose work we've profiled on the site many times before, was commissioned to create 15 of these posters (via io9) for a lucky group of fans, so they're unfortunately not available anywhere for purchase. Consider me ultra-jealous of those lucky few who actually have these up on their walls right now.

BACK TO THE FUTURE Prequel Trailer Details Doc Brown's Dealings with Terrorists

This is one of the coolest fan-made trailers I've seen in a long time. Editor Tyler Hopkins created a trailer for a would-be Back to the Future prequel called 1.21 Gigawatts that shows how Christopher Lloyd's iconic scientist Emmett "Doc" Brown first got involved with the Libyan terrorists who "kill" him in BTTF.

This is a fan edit trailer of what I think would make a pretty awesome movie: a Back to the Future prequel that explores Doc's shady dealings with the Libyan terrorist group.
This was made using clips from: Back to the Future, My Favorite Martian, Camp Nowhere, Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead, Dennis the Menace, Zero Dark Thirty, Argo, The Sum of All Fears, Syriana, Iron Man, Dazed and Confused and Munich.

This is a brilliant concept, and Hopkins cut everything together in expert fashion. If there was enough footage out there to turn this trailer concept into an entire feature, I'd totally watch a whole movie of this!

Ryan Reynolds Opens Up About His Naked Fight Scene in DEADPOOL

If you saw Deadpool, then you know there was an entire scene in which Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool, fought Ajax completely naked. If case you were wondering if he really was naked during that scene, the answer is yes. Ryan Reynolds let it all hang out.

The actor talked about shooting that scene and preparing for it by going through eight hours of make-up effects in which Reynolds was getting himself covered in head-to-toe scarring for the Deadpool look. On Ellen DeGeneres' talk show, he said:

"You just have a little talk with the crew at the beginning of the day. You say, 'Guys, you're gonna see things that you maybe shouldn't see.' I kinda got an idea of what it’s like to work in the adult film industry. By lunch time, you're just like, 'Oh, Greek salad is good, isn't it?' and you're just totally nude standing there."

Reynolds was obviously willing and prepared to do anything and everything to bring this character to life on the big screen the right way. He went on to joke:

”I’m not above taking my clothes off for money.”

It looks like Emma Watson has another solid looking film project for us to watch. It's called Colonia, and it's set in the '70s, and it tells the true story of a young woman who infiltrates a cult community to find her boyfriend. It looks like it’s going to be a pretty intense thriller.

The movie also stars Daniel Bruhl (Inglourious Basterds), Mikael Nyqvist (John Wick), Richenda Carey (Residue, Separate Lies), Vicky Krieps (A Most Wanted Man), August Zirner (The Counterfeiters), and Martin Wuttke (Inglourious Basterds). Here’s the synopsis:

Chile, 1973. Lufthansa flight attendant Lena (Watson) is in Santiago to visit her boyfriend, Daniel (Brühl), a talented graphic artist creating images in support of embattled President Salvador Allende. When Allende is violently ousted, General Augusto Pinochet’s forces begin rounding up dissidents. Daniel is taken to the remote stronghold of Colonia Dignidad (“Dignity Colony”), home to a secret agricultural commune and crypto-fascist sect led by sinister minister Paul Schäfer (Michael Nyqvist). Daniel is interrogated and tortured, but feigns severe mental deterioration to stay alive. Valiant and wily, Lena travels to Colonia and offers herself up to Schäfer as a follower. She is determined to find and free Daniel — but first she must ensure that she herself can survive Schäfer’s crushingly oppressive, viciously misogynistic practices.

Colonia was directed by Florian Gallenberger, and it made its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. It will get a limited theatrical release April 15th and will be available via VOD that same week.

The series also co-stars Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, and Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page.

In case you missed the first full trailer for Daredevil, you can check it out here. You can expect to see another trailer in the near future.

Marvel's Daredevil is a live action series that follows the journey of attorney Matt Murdock, who in a tragic accident was blinded as a boy but imbued with extraordinary senses. The Jessica Jones Twitter account recently released the first teaser poster for Marvel’s upcoming Netflix series Luke Cage. It features Mike Colter as the title character in his upcoming solo series. Why else would they have released it? I’m curious to see if he ends up wearing a costume and what that costume might look like.

After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city--forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.

The series will also star Mahershala Ali as Cornell "Cottonmouth" Stokes, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Theo Rossi as Alvarez, and Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard.

Daredevil season two starts streaming March 18th, while Luke Cage will premiere later in 2016.

Ron Howard Set to Direct Robert Downey Jr.'s PINOCCHIO

Warner Bros. and Robert Downey Jr. have been working together for some time now to get a live-action Pinocchio film into production. Over the years directors Ben Stiller, Tim Burton, and Paul Thomas Anderson have been involved with the project. The Tracking Board is now reporting that Ron Howard is set to helm the movie.

The screenplay for the film has been worked on by a few different screenwriters including Michael Mitnick (The Giver), Bryan Fuller (Hannibal), and Jane Goldman (Kingsman: The Secret Service). As you can see, there's been a lot of solid talent attached to this project. I'm curious to know why the film has been a revolving door for this talent.

The story details on this film are light, but we know that Downey Jr. will play Geppetto, and the moie will follow him as he embarks on a journey to look for his lost son Pinocchio. I'm really curious about this project and looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

I'm a fan of Howard as a director, so that fact that he is coming on board the project is exciting.  He most recently directed In The Heart of the Sea and is currently working on the third film in the Angels & Demons trilogy, Inferno with Tom Hanks.

Horror fans, after a five year absence, Hellraiser is making its return! That's literally just about all that's known at the moment. The information surfaced in an interview ScareTissue conducted with Heather Langenkamp in which she announced she was shooting her scenes next week!

I know the Hellraiser series has fallen off in popularity, but it still has a pretty strong foothold in the geek community. How have we gone up until filming with absolutely zero information?! Either way, I'm psyched to see the franchise return. Hellraiser has always been one of my favorites.

If you want to hear the specific revelation, skip to 6:42 in the video if it doesn't already! Thanks to ihorror for passing along the info!

Fans of any franchise are always on the hunt for something unique, something special, something that signifies the history of a book or a movie. So Star Wars fans might just want to follow Peter Mayhew on Twitter as he has some pretty exciting things to share with us.

The actor who played Chewbacca announced on his account that each day he will be sharing pages from his very own copy of the original 1976 Star Wars: A New Hope script that he received from George Lucas. He will be doing that in order to celebrate the beginning of the filming of Star Wars: Episode VIII. But that’s NOT all, folks, because the whole thing will lead to a big announcement.

Mayhew already posted four pages of the script. Check them out below and pretend you can smell the history, or at least the 40 year old pages.

Captain America’s Struggle in CIVIL WAR Discussed by Chris Evans and Kevin Feige

The only thing we’re all really waiting to see from Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War is Spider-Man. We still haven't seen what that character is going to look like. While we wait for that reveal, Chris Evans and Kevin Feige talk about Captain America’s struggle in this mpvie.

The movie does have a lot of other Marvel characters in it such as Vision, War Machine, Black Panther, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Iron Man, Ant-Man, Falcon, Winter Soldier, and more. But make no mistake about it… this is a Captain America movie. Evans explains in an interview with D23 Magazine:

"It’s exciting to see a guy who’s as optimistic and as selfless as Steve be met with letdown, betrayal, frustration, and selfishness. There are events and people in his life that test him — that challenge him and force him to reevaluate who he is and what he wants out of life. Even though there are a lot characters, the focus is on Steve and his struggle. Especially his struggle with Tony Stark."

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige adds:

"We've seen [the conflict] coming. The clues were there. When you watch the other films you see how Captain America and Iron Man fight the bad guys together, back-to-back, but they have differences. And there is something that happens in the world that divides them."

From all the footage we’ve seen of the film, we have a pretty good idea of what to expect from this story. It clearly explains that Steve Rogers and Tony Stark are at odds, and why. At this point, I’m really just curious to see how it’s going to end for them.

We’ve seen a lot of rumors that you can check out here, but I can’t wait to see how this story actually plays out. The movie is set to be released on May 6th, 2016.

Sam Raimi has directed one of the best car commercials that I've ever seen. I'm a huge fan of the filmmaker and his films, especially the horror films. I love his directing style because it's really fun and playful. He likes to take his audience on a wild ride. I also enjoy how he injects humor into his horror. He's mastered the art of horror comedy, and he brings his wonderful skills to this horror-themed Chevy commercial promoting the Malibu and the Cruze. The commercial has a great eerie vibe, and the ending is really quite enjoyable. Check it out!

We already got a glimpse at Sword of Destiny a couple months ago, and now we have a new trailer that tells us some more of the story. I would like to say I fully grasp what was happening, but I was too busy being amazed by the visuals! Also, I had no idea Donnie Yen speaks English!

Well here's some news that, as sad as it is, I feel needs to be reported. I remember at the time of Leonard Nimoy's death William Shatner was getting blasted by fans for not attending the funeral. Now Shatner tells Jim Norton in an interviewthat the two stopped talking in the months before Nimoy's passing. If there's a reason, Shatner claims he doesn't know it, and says it's a mystery that he will ponder to his own grave.

10 Surprising Cameos in Films You May Have Missed

$

I’ve got a great video for you to watch that points out and breaks down ten cameos in popular films that you may have missed. I was already familiar with a couple of them, but for the most part, I actually learned some new movie trivia!

The video list comes from ScreenRant, and some of the films it includes are Ant-Man, Iron Man, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Catch Me if You Can, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Who says a movie's best actors, jokes, or references have to be put directly in front of the audience? Whether it's thanks to a total fluke, a relationship behind the scenes, or just a joke too good to pass up, an unexpected or well-hidden cameo can make a good scene into a great one. But fans have to notice them first. Here are Screen Rant's 10 Hidden Movie Cameos You've Never Seen.

Yes, That Marvel Easter Egg in DEADPOOL Was What You Thought it Was

$

0

If you haven't seen Deadpool yet, then you might consider this bit of information a SPOILER. So just in case you don't want to know what this Marvel Easter Egg is, I suggestion you stop reading now.

At the end of the movie, there's an epic fight sequence between Deadpool and Ajax on what looked to be a giant Helicarrier. As I was watching the movie, there was no question in my mind that that was a Helicarrier! But a lot of fans weren't sure. I was even getting texts from family and friends asking me if that was a Helicarrier and I would tell them, "Hell yeah, it was!"

Deadpool actually managed to connect itself to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a roundabout way. The news was confirmed concept artist Emmanuel Shiu (via io9), and he says that he "was asked to redesign the Helicarrier so it looked as different as possible from the one in The Avengers. And it had to look like it had been taken apart in some places." You can see a piece of concept art that he did for the Helicarrier below.

I'd like to think that Deadpool is part of the MCU in some weird, indirect way. It makes complete sense for there to be a Helicarrier being dismantled in Deadpool. My fan theory is that since the film takes place after the events of Captain America: The Winter Solider when the Helicarriers were taken down by Captain America and his team, the wreckage and leftover Helicarriers would have to go somewhere. This explains that away and also gives something cool for Deadpool to fight on!
