Karyn Kusama (Girlfight, Jennifer's Body) is back with a new movie called The Invitation, and the latest trailer is even more unnerving than the first one. This looks like a hell of a psychological thriller that's going to mess with our minds and make us second-guess just about everything we see in it. Prometheus star Logan Marshall-Green (looking much more frazzled than we've seen him before) plays a man who attends a fancy dinner party thrown by his ex-wife and her new husband, but realizes that something suspicious and possibly sinister is going on underneath the guise of their hospitality.

Drafthouse Films is releasing the movie on VOD and in theaters on April 8th, and you can read the official synopsis below before checking out the tense new trailer:

Paramount has released a new red-band trailer for Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, the new Tina Fey comedy that sees Fey playing a journalist who heads to Afghanistan in order to shake up her life and get out of her New York City routine. When she lands, she meets and bonds with Margot Robbie's character, while Martin Freeman and Billy Bob Thornton pop up in smaller roles. It comes from the directors of Crazy Stupid Love, who also made I Love You Phillip Morris and Focus; if it holds true to the pattern of the directors' previous films, this should be enjoyable in the moment but not make much of an impact otherwise.

The reason this is red-band is because a few F-bombs are dropped, and those aren't the only bombs that go off in this trailer. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot hits theaters on March 4th.

In a string of recent critically acclaimed performances, Kristen Stewart has proven that she's no longer just "the girl from the Twilight movies." Nicholas Hoult, fresh off of last year's Mad Max: Fury Road and with X-Men: Apocalypse coming up this summer, is also trying to make a name for himself outside of the blockbuster realm. So it makes some sense that the two would unite on screen for director Drake Doremus, who helmed indie successes Like Crazy and Breathe In.

Their new film is called Equals, a dystopian sci-fi romance that just received its first teaser trailer from distributor A24. It looks like Doremus has a good mix of the sort of classic, sterile-looking science fiction and the tactile warmth he captures so well in his love stories.

There's no official release date yet, but the movie will be released sometime this summer. Let me know what you think of the trailer.

Will Arnett has taken some flack for playing the same kind of character over and over again: a fast-talking idiot who cares more about himself than anything else. But Arnett appears to be breaking free from that pattern and going in a slightly more serious direction with his new Netflix series Flaked, which he co-created with writer Mark Chappell. The project also reunites him with Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz, who is executive producing this one.

The first season of Flaked premieres on Netflix exactly one month from today, on March 11th. Check out the first trailer below and let us know if it's something you'll be checking out.

Flaked is a dry, slice-of-life comedy about Chip, a celebrated long-time resident of the insular world of Venice, California who falls for the object of his best friend's fascination. Soon the tangled web of half-truths and semi-bullshit that underpins his all-important image and sobriety begins to unravel. Will Arnett plays Chip, a man doing his honest best to stay one step ahead of his own lies.

Director Garry Marshall (Pretty Woman, Valentine's Day, New Year's Eve) is back with another cheesy-looking ensemble dramedy centered on a holiday. Mother's Day stars Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Aniston, and Jason Sudeikis as a collection of loosely connected characters that all come to appreciate their moms...or something. 80% of the trailer is devoted to introducing new storylines (with the most stereotypical voiceover possible), and it looks packed with exactly the kinds of jokes you'd think would be in a movie like this.

The entire thing looks unexceptional in every way, but I do recognize that I'm not the audience Open Road is courting for this one. I'm sure it'll make a ton of money because mothers and daughters will go together as something to do on Mother's Day (which is on May 8th), though diehard fans may go see it opening weekend. The film hits theaters on April 29th. 

"Mother's Day" is the latest star studded ensemble comedy from director Garry Marshall ("Pretty Woman," "Valentine's Day"). Bringing together Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson and Julia Roberts along with Jason Sudeikis, it's a celebration of mothers everywhere. This big-hearted comedy invites us all to enjoy the laughter, tears and love as three generations come together in the week leading up to Mother's Day.

Director James Gunn begins production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 today in Atlanta, Georgia! To kick things off, he released a photo from the set of the film showing us the new official logo for the movie. It came with the following caption:

"To quote the great poet David Coverdale, Here I Go Again."

The director also said that next week we will get an official announcement revealing the full cast for the highly anticipated sequel. So far we know that Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, and Bradley Cooper, are all returning to reprise their roles. Then there's Michael Rooker and Karen Gillan who will return as Yondu and Nebula, with Pom Klementieff reportedly playing Mantis and Kurt Russell could end up in the role of Star-Lord’s dad. 

The movie will be released on May 5th, 2017.

HBO has released a batch of 24 new photos from their highly anticipated sixth season of Game of Thrones. I will warn you, there are spoilers here for those who aren’t caught up with the series. Proceed with caution.

The photos include Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) who jumped off the Winterfell castle wall to an unknown fate in the season 5 finale. A couple images reveal that they’re doing just fine. We’ve got Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) who is still dealing with her blindness, and we get our first look at the new Three-Eyed Raven (Max von Sydow) along with Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright). 

Other images include Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) with his advisor Varya (Conelth Hill) as he remains in Meereen. Then there’s Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer), who is still incarcerated in prison as Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) goes free.

There’s a lot more that you can check out below, but none of them include Jon Snow. Game of Thrones returns to HBO on April 24th, 2016.

Deadpool is now in theaters, so you can go watch it if you want! We finally get to see the character kick ass and eat chimichangas on the big screen. Just because Deadpool has (finally!) been released doesn't mean we have to stop having fun with the movie, so here's 20 minutes of amazing behind-the-scenes B-roll footage that is definitely worth watching if you don’t mind vulgar NSFW content and some spoilers. If you decide to wait to watch this until after you see the movie, just bookmark the page and come back when you’re ready! I haven’t seen the movie myself yet, but I couldn’t help but watch the videos anyway. I found the footage here hysterically entertaining. 

Earlier this month we learned that director Josh Boone (The Fault of Our Stars) would direct a big screen adaptation of Stephen King’s novel Revival. Boone was previously developing The Stand as a film but put it on hold to do this one first. 

The story centers on a fascinating charismatic preacher named Charles Jacobs who starts to experiment with the supernatural powers of electricity after his family is killed in a gruesome car accident. He becomes a little crazy and denounces God and religion during a sermon. He is then banished from the town and becomes a sideshow huckster and a faith healer — using an electrical treatment to heal people.

According to EW, Boone is looking to cast Samuel L. Jackson in the role of the preacher, which would be an incredibly amazing role for Jackson to take on. Something like this could be one of the highlights of his movie career, so I hope he takes it! 

There is another main character in the story named Jamie Morton who has a drug problem and is “saved” by Jacobs when he cures him of his addiction. There are strange side effects, though, and this leads him on a journey to find out what happened to some of the other people that Jacobs “saved.” There’s no word on who will take this role, but I’m sure Boone will cast another great actor. 

Here’s the description from the book:

In a small New England town, over half a century ago, a shadow falls over a small boy playing with his toy soldiers. Jamie Morton looks up to see a striking man, the new minister. Charles Jacobs, along with his beautiful wife, will transform the local church. Their bond becomes a pact beyond even the Devil’s devising, and Jamie discovers that revival has many meanings.

This wouldn’t be Jackson’s first time entering the world of Stephen King. He previously co-starred in the big screen adaption of 1408 alongside John Cusack.

HBO’s Silicon Valley is one of the funniest and most entertaining series that you can watch right now. If for some reason you haven’t seen the first two seasons, you need to binge watch them now!

A promo spot has been released that gives us a little taste of some of the hilarity that we will get to see in the upcoming third season as Richard attempts to become CEO of his company Pied Piper. 

I can’t wait to see where creator Mike Judge takes these characters next season. The series gives us a comedic look at the modern-day epicenter of the high-tech gold rush, where the people most qualified to succeed are the least capable of handling success. The series is partially inspired by Judge’s own experiences as a Silicon Valley engineer in the late ‘80s.

It’s set to premiere on HBO on Sunday, April 24th. 

Following yesterday's badass final trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Warner Bros. has released two new banners for the film. Each one show uss a different heroes perspective as they exchange blows.

This last trailer that was the best one they will release, and it actually got me more excited than I’ve ever been for this movie. It really looks like Zack Snyder is going to deliver a great movie that will bring fans joy and happiness.

“Following his titanic struggle against General Zod, Metropolis has been razed to the ground and Superman is the most controversial figure in the world. While for many he is still an emblem of hope, a growing number of people consider him a threat to humanity, seeking justice for the chaos he has brought to Earth.

Cartoon Network has released the first clip from their upcoming new Powerpuff Girls series. If you were a fan of the original series, then I think you’re going to like what you see because they didn’t change much about it. Everything looks very familiar, especially Buttercup's fiery attitude. 

The Powerpuff Girls reboot was announced last year, and here’s the official description:

The computer-animated musical comedy Sing already got my attention when I found out that Matthew McConaughey was going to star as a koala that runs a theater. Now Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment have released five new clips that show different animal contestants' talents and voices.

Here’s an official synopsis.

Set in a world like ours but entirely inhabited by animals, Sing stars Buster Moon (Matthew McConaughey), a dapper Koala who presides over a once-grand theater that has fallen on hard times. Buster is an eternal optimist – okay, maybe a bit of a scoundrel – who loves his theatre above all and will do anything to preserve it. Now facing the crumbling of his life’s ambition, he has one final chance to restore his fading jewel to its former glory by producing the world’s greatest singing competition.

Five lead contestants emerge: A mouse (Seth MacFarlane) who croons as smoothly as he cons, a timid teenage elephant (Tori Kelly) with an enormous case of stage fright, an overtaxed mother (Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon) run ragged tending a litter of 25 piglets, a young gangster gorilla (Taron Egerton) looking to break free of his family’s felonies, and a punk-rock porcupine (Scarlett Johansson) struggling to shed her arrogant boyfriend and go solo. Each animal arrives under Buster’s marquee believing that this is their shot to change the course of their life.

The comment section on this one should be fun. The Wrap is reporting that we will have one Transformers film a year, every June, until 2019. While this news will undoubtedly infuriate a percentage of you, apparently the franchise has to be doing something right to guarantee this kind of follow up.

As of now, Michael Bay is only guaranteed to direct the fifth installment, which is due out June 23rd, 2017. Bay says that this will be his last Transformers. Seeing his trademark directing style is the stamp on this polarizing franchise, I'm admittedly curious to see what another director would do with it in 2018. Perhaps a reboot closer to the animated series?

Marvel and Hasbro are joining forces to make cosplay and playtime more real than ever. Gizmodo says the two are releasing a line of "movie accurate" accessories for wannabe heroes that are damn impressive considering they're toys. That said, they are not at all priced like toys.

That Iron Man helmet? It's gonna run you a $100. While that may seem steep, the front of the mask is removable, and there are several LEDs and and sound effects to shoot off, all through the use of a few AAA batteries. Cap's shield is made of metal to give it that true glossy finish.

The Marvel Legends role playing line will be available sometime this fall.

There's a new Star Wars animated series headed to Disney XD! The series is called LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures, and as you might expect, it will blend the humor of the LEGO brand with the awesomeness of Star Wars.

The adventure series is set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, and it will introduce a new batch of heroes and villains along with several other familiar Star Wars characters. 

The story will center on a family of scavengers named the Freemakers and how they make a living in the galaxy building and selling starships from the scoured debris of space battles strewn throughout the galaxy.

When their youngest discovers a natural connection with the Force through an ancient artifact — the Kyber Saber — his world is turned upside down, and he and his family are thrown into an epic struggle against the Empire to restore peace and freedom to the galaxy. Throughout their adventures, the Freemakers explore new worlds, meet new and familiar characters, and learn the true value of what it means to be a family.

This sounds like it could be a fun and enjoyable series. I know for a fact my kids will love it. Jill Wilfert, vice president, licensing & entertainment at the LEGO Group had this to say in a statement:

“We are very excited to launch for the first time a TV series with Disney XD. The creative team behind The Freemaker Adventures is extremely talented, and the series is a great testament to our longstanding and successful partnership with Lucasfilm and Disney. I finally saw Deadpool last night, and holy shit! This movie was awesome and well worth the wait. What's crazy is that it exceeded my already high expectations. Director Tim Miller, actor Ryan Reynolds, and writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick delivered a Deadpool movie that is EXACTLY what fans wanted to see.

The movie was hilarious, action-packed, and completely batshit crazy in the best possible ways! This seriously might be the most accurate and true film adaptation of a comic book character ever made. If you are a fan of Deadpool, I don't see how you will not love this movie. If you're not a fan of Deadpool or not familiar with the character, then you probably won't get it. I am curious to know what general audiences will think of the movie because I don't think most of them know what they are getting themselves into. It sure is one wild and crazy ride! 

I was completely hooked on this movie from the very start with the amazingly funny opening credits sequence to the very end with the perfect Ferris Bueller parody. There's absolutely nothing that I didn't like about this movie. Miller and Reynolds promised that they would give us a proper Deadpool movie, and that's exactly what they did! I can't freakin' wait to see the sequel, though! There's a good chance that it could be even better than this first film! Cable will be involved, and Fox will probably give them a bigger budget.
