BEVERLY HILLS COP TV Series Lands at CBS

$

0

A Beverly Hills Cop TV Series has been in the air since October of last year, but last week it was officially announced, and today we've learned that it will air on CBS.

I've enjoyed all of the Beverly Hills Cop films, and I can see a series based on that franchise being hillariously great. I definitely see the potential, but it has to be done right. So far the talent involved gives me hope. Eddie Murphy will serve as an executive producer along side The Shield creator Shawn Ryan. Ryan did an incredible job with The Shield, which makes me believe he will be able to turn this franchise into an awesome series.

Ryan will serve as the writer and showrunner as well, and Murphy will reprise his role in the series guest starring in it from time to time. The series will serve as a sequel to the first three films that chronicled the exploits of wise-cracking Detroit detective Axel Foley (Murphy) in Los Angeles. "The proposed series has a similar fish-out-of-water setup and centers on Axel Foley’s blue-collar police officer son, Aaron, who helps take down the criminal elements of the rich and famous in Beverly Hills while trying to escape the shadow of his larger-than-life father."

Do you think this will end up being a solid series, or do you think they will drop the ball? I'm also curious to know what your favorite of the three Beverly Hills Cop films is.

Warner Bros. To Adapt Sci-Fi Action-Thriller THE PLANET THIEVES

Warner Bros. has acquired the rights to an upcoming sci-fi book that they want to adapt into a feature film called The Planet Thieves. The book was written by Dan Krokos and the story "follows a young space cadet who finds himself caught in the middle of Earth’s struggle to survive. His ship is attacked by an alien race bent on gaining control of a weapon they’re carrying on board."

The book will be released in may of next year, and Harry Potter producer David Heyman will be developing it. Krokos is also supposed to be writing a sequel to the book, but no word on if that is part of the studio's deal. I imagine they will want to turn it into a lucrative franchise if they can.

It sounds like it could make for a solidly entertaining flick. What do you think about the basic story plot? Does it interest you at all?

Here's the description for the book:

When the crew of the SS Egypt gets massacred by an alien race, Mason Stark, a thirteen-year-old cadet in the Earth Space Command, must lead his fellow cadets in a daring surprise attack to retake the ship, and recover a stolen technology that could spell the end of planet Earth.

AMC has released six new photos from the third season of The Walking Dead to tide you over, and keep you satisfied until the show premieres on October 14th.

This latest series of photos include pictures of Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon, Danai Gurira as Michonne, David Morrissey as The Governor, and Steven Yeun as Glenn poking a zombie in the face with a stick through a fence.

From what I've seen I'm convinced that this is going to be the best season so far! What main characters do you think will be killed off this season?

TAKEN 2 gets Another Awesome Trailer!

"I have to bring your mom back, and make sure these people never bother us again."

20th Century Fox released a new trailer for Taken 2, that's exclusive to the internet. The trailer is introduced by Liam Neeson, and it contains a a few bits of new footage. Neeson plans on takin' out everyone and anyone who would want to get revenge on him, and he's going to do it in less than 2 hours. That's impressive.

Neeson returns as Bryan Mills, the retired CIA agent with a particular set of skills who stopped at nothing to save his daughter Kim from Albanian kidnappers. When the father of one of the kidnappers swears revenge and takes Bryan and his wife hostage during their family vacation in Istanbul, Bryan enlists Kim to help them escape, and uses the same advanced level of special forces tactics to get his family to safety and systematically take out the kidnappers one by one.

The movie was directed by Olivier Megaton, and stars Maggie Grace, Famke Janssen, Rade Sherbedgia and Luke Grimes. The movie will hit theaters on October 5th, and I'm looking forward to watching Neeson kick some more ass.

Trailer for the Found Footage Horror Film THE BAY

Lionsgate has released the first trailer to a new found footage horror thriller directed by Barry Levinson (Sphere, Sleepers) called The Bay. This is different kind of film for the director, and it's kind of a mix of Paranormal Activity and Contagion mixed with some creepy bug things. The footage tells a story about some kind of viral outbreak being caused by a crazy looking parasite. Found footage movies are hit or miss for me, this one seems to have an interesting premise, but it can go either way.

Here's the Synopsis:

The quaint seaside town of Chesapeake Bay thrives on water; it is the lifeblood of the community. When two biological researchers from France find a staggering level of toxicity in the water, they attempt to alert the mayor, but he refuses to create a panic in the docile town. As a result, a deadly plague is unleashed, turning the people of Chesapeake Bay into hosts for a mutant breed of parasites that take control of their minds, and eventually their bodies. A brutal and harrowing creature feature for the 21st century, THE BAY chronicles the descent of a small town into absolute terror.

The movie is set to hit theaters on November 2nd, will you be checking it out?

Michael Emerson as the Joker in BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS

LOST's Michael Emerson will be the voice of The Joker in Warner Bros. Animation's new movie adaptation of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. It's a little sad that Mark Hamill won't be lending his voice to the character anymore, but Emerson seems like a solid choice to take on the terrifying villain. I'm looking forward to hearing and seeing how he handles the character.

The image above gives us our first look at the character design, which will make an appearance in Part two of the two part animated film series. Here's what Emerson had to say about playing the character...

He's one of those great villains that an actor like me likes to play because he has layers — he has a face for the world and a face for himself. He is, in a way, a villain who is a natural actor. All of that is that is delightful and confounding at the same time.

It's freeing because of the largeness of it. When he laughs, there's nothing subdued about it. When he screams in rage, there's nothing controlled about it. The amp is turned to 11 at all times.

Do you think Emerson will provide a good creepy voice over for the Joker?

Here's the Synopsis:

...it’s been a decade since Bruce Wayne hung up his cape, following most of the other superheroes who had been forced into retirement. Facing the downside of middle age, a restless Bruce Wayne pacifies his frustration with race cars and liquor – but the bat still beckons as he watches his city fall prey to gangs of barbaric criminals known as The Mutants.

The return of Harvey Dent as Two-Face finally prompts Wayne to once again don the Dark Knight’s cowl, and his dramatic capture of the villain returns him to crime-fighting – simultaneously making him the target of law enforcement and the new hope for a desolate Gotham City. Particularly inspired is a teenage girl named Carrie, who adopts the persona of Robin and ultimately saves Batman from a brutal attack by the Mutant leader. Armed with a new sidekick, and re-energized with a definitive purpose, the Dark Knight returns to protect Gotham from foes new...and old.

Peter Weller will be the voice of Batman/Bruce Wayne and is joined by David Selby as Commissioner Gordon, Ariel Winter as Robin, Wade Williams as Two-Face and Michael McKean as Dr. Bartholomew Wolper. The film is directed by Jay Oliva, written by Bob Goodman and executive produced by Sam Register and Bruce Timm.

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1 will be released on Blu-ray and DVD and download on September 25th, 2012 from Warner Home Video. Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2 will be released in early 2013.

Scott Derrickson to Direct Paranormal Police Thriller

$

0

The director of The Exorcism of Emily Rose and The Day the Earth Stood Still, Scott Derrickson, has signed on to direct a paranormal police thriller called Beware the Night

I'm a big fan of both horror movies and police dramas, so this sounds like it could be a cool film. The story follows a New York police officer investigating real life demon possessions, exorcisms and werewolves after dark. What? Vampires don't exist in this world?

According to The Wrap Mark Wahlberg was offered the lead role in the movie but ended up passing. Not sure why, but hopefully it wasn't because the script sucked, because Wahlberg has made some pretty terrible films in his career. It's not a good sign if he passes on a movie because the script is bad. Derrickson will be re-writing it though.

Derrickson has previously signed on to direct Two Eyes Staring, which is a remake of the Dutch thriller, Zwart Water with Charlize Theron for Summit Entertainment. He also recently wrote the script for Devil’s Knot, which is the movie being made based on the West Memphis Three.

Beware the Night seems like the perfect project for Derrickson to take on. Hopefully it turns out to be a good flick!

Geek Taboo: Slime Girls (SFW)

We as geeks are generally an accepting bunch. That may be quite the generalization to make but when I (and I'm sure you as well) live a majority of your life obsessed with or following subjects of little or no interest to the mainstream public I feel I can speak with certainty that we tend to be open minded about a good deal more than most. Take that and our love of exotic worlds of science fiction, fantasy, and myth it's only natural that some of those fantasies translate over to real life. This series of articles will highlight some of the lesser known circles of geek taboo. You may think it odd, strange, or even bizarre. But leave your opinion at the door, for you may never know what activity you partake in may be considered Geek Taboo.

 SLIME GIRLS

In my journey across the less treaded forums, threads, and sub-reddits of the internet, I've seen many a things. When one travels through such territory, it's assumed you will find a fair amount of Hentai (anime porn) along the way. It may be a shot in the dark but I feel safe in assuming that a vast majority of you are familiar with the "tentacle monster" even if you haven't physically seen it. Our subject is similar to that kind of erotica.

Slime Girls are a type of erotic monster with mixed origins that I could not for certain confirm, although the earliest reference seems to come from a Japanese Hentai style RPG by the name of "Monster Girl Quest". MGQ is home to many fantasy creatures, all of which (in some shape or form) are made to look like attractive women. So out of all the creatures, why these blob women? Why are there multiple communities tumblrs and a sub-reddit dedicated to the depiction of these females? To shed some light on the matter I talked to moderator of r/Slimegirls Northly_knives.

My first exposure to slime girls was in reading the comic Living With Monster Girls. I would say the major appeal of slime girls is the fact that, because they are amorphous, the sexual possibilities with them are endless. Any part of their bodies can be penetrated; therefore what you can do with a slime girl is limited only to one's imagination. Furthermore, because slime girls feed on sperm, they are generally portrayed as very willing participants in sexual acts, as opposed to the often violent and forceful scenes shown in other Hentai or real pornography. Finally, the fact that slime girls are perpetually wet/dripping ensures pleasure and comfort.

Amorphous blobs certainly do allow for women of many shapes and sizes, and a quick google search can indeed reveal just how creative artists can get with the matter. It's also good to see the art form, as mentioned in the above quote, moves away from the sad violence depicted in such things. All in all the slime girl crew, while their tastes may not be in line with mine, are an alright bunch. Stable minded people with different interests and desires. At the end of the day they are regular people with jobs and lives separate from these interests. So we end for now with a bit of new knowledge and a better understanding of the rarely seen interests of our colleagues. Comment below and remember the next time you spot something uncommon, strange or out of the norm in your circles, pass no judgement. Who knows? Maybe the next geek taboo will be about you!

**speaking of which we are also taking suggestions for other geek taboo's we may or may not know about. Send us your idea and a link to my email...please nothing that will end me on a government watch list.**

TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D - Leatherface is Back in New Photo!

Last week a new poster was released for Texas Chainsaw 3D showing off several different human leather faces worn by the horror movie icon. Today, thanks to STYD, we bring you a new photo from the film featuring Leatherface lurking around in the dark with his chainsaw.

The movie centers on a young woman named Heather who discovers that she's a direct descendent of the crazy Sawyer family from Tobe Hooper's original film, and she goes back to Newt Texas to learn a little more about her family history. As a fan of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I'm kind of excited to see how this one turns out.

Here's the synopsis:

Lionsgate’s TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D continues the legendary story of the homicidal Sawyer family, picking up where Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror classic left off in Newt, Texas, where for decades people went missing without a trace.  The townspeople long suspected the Sawyer family, owners of a local barbeque pit, were somehow responsible.  Their suspicions were finally confirmed one hot summer day when a young woman escaped the Sawyer house following the brutal murders of her four friends.  Word around the small town quickly spread, and a vigilante mob of enraged locals surrounded the Sawyer stronghold, burning it to the ground and killing every last member of the family – or so they thought.

Decades later and hundreds of miles away from the original massacre, a young woman named Heather learns that she has inherited a Texas estate from a grandmother she never knew she had.  After embarking on a road trip with friends to uncover her roots, she finds she is the sole owner of a lavish, isolated Victorian mansion. But her newfound wealth comes at a price as she stumbles upon a horror that awaits her in the mansion’s dank cellars…

Several of the original cast members from the first movie are returning for this one including John Dugan who will reprise his role as Grandfather and Marilyn Burns, Bill Moseley and Gunnar Hansen. It also stars Alexandra Daddario, Tania Raymonde, Sue Rock, Scott Eastwood, Trey Songz, Keram Malicki-Sanchez, Shaun Sipos, Thom Barry, Paul Rae and Richard Riehle.

The movie will be released on January 4th, 2013.

Ben Affleck's ARGO - First TV Spot

Warner Bros. has released the first TV spot for Ben Affleck's next movie Argo. He directed the great looking film, which is based on the true story of how the CIA and the Canadian government teamed to rescue six U.S. diplomats who'd been taken hostage at the American embassy by a group of Iranians in 1979. The CIA's ruse involved the explanation that the six hostages were actually a Hollywood film crew scouting a movie titled Argo, and using those fake identities, they were able to flee the country. The story is told in a Wired magazine article by Joshuah Bearman, called How the CIA Used a Fake Sci-Fi Flick to Rescue Americans from Tehran

The screenplay for the film was written by Chris Terrio and it features an extensive cast of great actors including Alan Arkin, Bryan Cranston, John Goodman, Kerry Bishe, Kyle Chandler, Rory Cochrane, Christopher Denham, Tate Donovan, Clea DuVall, Victor Garber, Zeljko Ivanek, Richard Kind, Scoot McNairy, Chris Messina, Michael Parks, and Taylor Schilling.

Affleck has proven that he's a talented director, it looks like he did a great job bringing this story to life, and I'm looking foward to seeing the story unfold on the big screen.

Here's the Synopsis:

Based on true events, “Argo” chronicles the life-or-death covert operation to rescue six Americans, which unfolded behind the scenes of the Iran hostage crisis–the truth of which was unknown by the public for decades. On November 4, 1979, as the Iranian revolution reaches its boiling point, militants storm the U.S. embassy in Tehran, taking 52 Americans hostage. But, in the midst of the chaos, six Americans manage to slip away and find refuge in the home of the Canadian ambassador. Knowing it is only a matter of time before the six are found out and likely killed, a CIA “exfiltration” specialist named Tony Mendez (Affleck) comes up with a risky plan to get them safely out of the country. A plan so incredible, it could only happen in the movies.

The film opens up in theaters October 12th, 2012. Do you think Affleck is a better actor or director?

Joss Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing helped him Finish AVENGERS

As you may recall, Joss Whedon took a month long vacation from The Avengers, during which time he ended up directing a micro budget adaptation of William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. Turns out that vacation helped Whedon finish the incredible superhero epic. Apparently he wasn't feeling very confident in his work, especially when he needed to start cutting stuff out. Whedon recently sat down with Vulture for an interview in which he explained,

In a way, it was sort of a coming-home party because everyone in it is someone I love, or at least someone I'm a big fan of and planned to love. It was also a palate cleanser after a grueling shoot of a very effects-driven movie. I came off The Avengers and I was exhausted. We were already editing because our schedule on The Avengers was very accelerated, and I was having to cut out things and I was in that space where I'm like, "Ohhh, it's not really my movie anymore. It's not about anything!" [I was] sort of having the angst. And then I shot Much Ado and was able to come back to The Avengers and go, "Okay! Whoa, sorry guys. I'm back." I could see it clearly and go, "You know what? [The Avengers] is getting better, and here's what I need to take out." It just sort of gave me perspective, and not the perspective of, "Oh well, I got to make my passion project, so now I'll just churn this out," but the perspective where I could look at it the way I was supposed to because I felt like I'd been on a vacation for a month. At least, that was my idea of a vacation.

I'm sure you can all relate to what Whedon is talking about. I know when I get burnt out on writing or get writer's block, I have to walk away and do something else to clear my head. When I come back to write I see things a lot clearer.

He went on to talk more about Much Ado About Nothing, saying that it made him "smile so hard that my face broke. My lips just split because I was smiling so hard." He also talked about how Nathan Fillion's performance as Dogberry "pretty much closes the book" on the character. "It's a masterful performance, and it's performed by a guy who tried to get out of it because he was so scared."

The movie is set to debut later this week at the Toronto Film Festival. I'm excited about checking it out once it's released in theaters!

Paul McGuigan to Direct FRANKENSTEIN For FOX

Lucky Number Slevin and Push director Paul McGuigan is in final talks with Twentieth Century Fox and Davis Entertainment to take on Frankenstein. He will direct the film from a script written by Chronicle screenwriter Max LandisReal Steel director Shawn Levy was attached to direct the movie at one point, but apparently he had to drop out, which is fine. I didn't think he had it in him to make an awesome Frankenstein film anyway.

This is one of several Frankenstein projects in development right now. This one is described as being “a sci-fi take on the traditional Mary Shelley story, focusing on themes of friendship and redemption.” This is basically what the book is, isn't it? Landis previously revealed a few more details on the story saying that the movie will be a period piece told from the perspective of the character Igor, and all the interesting misconceptions surrounding the mythology of this story and character. The movie will also explore where Igor came from, and if Victor Frankenstein was actually a doctor or a drop out.

I'm curious to see how this movie turns out, but I'm even more curious to know when Guillermo del Toro will finally make his Frankenstein film! That's the one I'm waiting for!

AMC has released a new poster for the third season of The Walking Dead featuring Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes standing confidently tall and taking aim at the prison. The poster also features a new tag line, "Fight the Dead. Fear the Living." I can't wait to see what's in store for these characters next season! I have a feeling not all of them will be walking out alive by the end of it.

The Walking Dead is set to return to AMC on October 14th and also stars Sarah Wayne Callies, Chandler Riggs, Norman Reedus, Lori Holden, Melissa McBride, Lauren Cohan, Iron E Singleton, Danai Gurira, and David Morrissey.

David Slade to Direct MATCHED for Disney

$

30 Days of Night and Hard Candy director David Slade has been hired by Disney to direct a feature film adaptation of Matched. The young-adult novel was written by Ally Condie, and the story revolves around a girl in a dystopian future where choice is taken away, and a young woman falls in love with a guy she has not been matched with.

Slade's last feature film project was The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and I imagine he did the best job he could with the material he had to work with. For the most part I like Slade's work, and since Twilight he's been attached to several other film project such as Daredevil, Coward, and The Last Voyage of the Demeter. For one reason or another these projects have fallen through. He went on to direct the TV pilot for Hannibal. I've always thought of the director as more of a hardcore kind of guy, so it's interesting to see him attached to these other softer kind of love story movies. I'm sure he'll do a solid job with this latest project he's taken on.

Do you like Slade's work, and do you think he'll do a good job bringing this story to life?

Here's the description of the novel:

Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander's face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is her ideal mate . . . until she sees Ky Markham's face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black.

The Society tells her it's a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she's destined to lead with Xander. But Cassia can't stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society's infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she's known and a path that no one else has dared to follow.

Mark Millar Talks about Jim Carrey Being cast in KICK-ASS 2

$
0
0

It was officially announced yesterday that Jim Carrey would be playing The Colonel in Jeff Wadlow's Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall. I'm really happy with this casting decision, and it's the first performance from the actor that I'm actually looking forward to seeing in a very long time. Carrey is a talented actor, he just hasn't made a good movie in so long, he keeps doing these crap projects. Here's what Kick-Ass creator Mark Millar had to say about Carrey being cast in the role...

Matthew Vaughn, Jeff Wadlow and I did a conference call with Jim a couple of weeks back and we've been itching to talk about this ever since because the energy Jim's going to bring to Colonel Stars has me buzzing as much as Nic Cage with Big Daddy. You have to remember that Big Daddy's role before Cage came on was a much more straightforward bad-ass. It was Nic who gave him that Adam West delivery and brought this incredible warmth to the character, especially with regard to Mindy.

Nic is really good friends with Jim Carrey and it's well known to everyone that Jim loved the first movie. In fact, I think he had lunch with Vaughn the day before that Conan O'Brien kick-Ass/ Superman duet you can see in the link. So we've been talking very informally about this for a little over two years now. We didn't quite know what Jim was going to be doing in the sequel, but the entire team loves him to bits and I've been a fan since I first saw him. I remember reading an interview with Spielberg, a great one back in Empire for a JAws anniversary, where he was saying that Jim would be his choice for Chief Brodie were he shooting Jaws now. He said he could see the brilliant dramatic range Jim had as well as the comedy people knew him for at that time. For all these reasons, combined with the conversation we had with him on the phone, I'm so genuinely excited about this. I can't wait to see what he does once the cameras are on.

So as you can see from the online reports there's a Hell of a cast shaping up here. The movie runs from Hit-Girl #1 to Kick-Ass 2 #7 and fans of the comic will know that the part of Uncle Ralphie is still to be announced. He's the big-bad from the Hit-Girl series and you, my friends, are in for a treat.

But this is all incredibly cool. Millarworld has had two movies released so far and several in various stages of production right now (another one starts shooting in the New Year). But I think this is the closest to starstruck I've been on anything so far. LOVE Jim Carrey. Can't wait to meet him at Pinewood.

Are you looking forward to seeing Carrey in this movie?

Eerie Sci-Fi Short Film ROBBIE Made with Existing NASA Footage

$

An Australian filmmaker by the name of Neil Harvey sent us a wonderful eerie sci-fi short film he created called Robbie, and he used a lot of footage from NASA to create it. The story is set 6000 years in the future, and it charts the existential reflections of an aging robot drifting alone through space on the last of his battery life. It actually ended up being a really interesting short.

Here's a note from the filmmaker:

The film-making process involved downloading about 10 hours of footage from the NASA archives and compiling a list of shots which resonated with me at some level. I did this over about 2 or 3 months when I had the spare time. From there, I put these selected shots on an editing timeline and watched them back until characters and narratives began developing in my mind. That is when i met Robbie.

A lot of people have read 'Robbie' as a rather sad story. My personal reading is that I find it to be a bit more uplifting, perhaps even celebratory. While it was not my intention to have "a message", I was certainly interested in the way we confront death and the issue of not ever waking up again. I also felt that by transposing such themes onto an AI character, it would provide a much more compelling vehicle through which to explore these ideas than if we were watching a human protagonist. I'm not sure about anyone else, but I definitely find value in my life by occasionally thinking about how lucky I am that I was actually born at all. I guess this is why I find the film to be more cathartic than depressing.

It's actually very cool to watch this footage, because there's some really cool looking stuff in the NASA archives. I would actually love to see more. Watch the film and let us know if you like it or not!

More ROBOCOP Details Revealed - It Might be Better than We Think

$

It looks like someone else got their hands on the script for Jose Padilha's Robocop reboot. This time around we have a much more positive reaction to the script than the last thing we heard. Before we get into it you need to know that there are more details that contain major heavy Spoilers. I actually like this description of the story, it gives us a better sense of what's in store for us, and this sounds more like Padilha's style.

These latest details come from SHH user, Solidus, who says the movie is very similar to Neill Blomkamp's awesome sci-fi movie District 9. Robocop will start off being more human, but as time goes on he slowly begins to lose that humanity and ends up becoming more of a machine. The new details reveal the technology that will be built into Robocop, a clearer explanation of the whole transformer element, and then some intense story details.

Details on Robocop's technology:

He moves quick. At first as Robo 1.0 he is somewhat slow. But he does move fast, he can run up to 30MPH and catch bad guys pretty quick.

Other things, that I love is just the whole integration of wi-fi and how he is connected to everything. This is truly Robocop remade for the modern world, not the 80's.

I have said before I love the virtual evidence world he creates and re-creates a crime as it happens. I love how he is connected to every camera in the city and they are everywhere.

There is also a motorcycle that is made specifically for him, it sounds pretty cool, it connects to him in a way. So he mainly drives his Cruiser motorcycle thing.

Update on the Transformer aspect of Robocop:

And people should not worry about the "Transformers" aspect, all that changes is the appearance of the texture of his armor and helmet, nothing more. He has a visor but it is more see through.

Yea the armor just changes to different textures/slight bulkiness. But it makes it sound like in the script in many scenes that it transforms very very quickly. No body changing or arms becoming something else kind of stuff.

He starts out more human, but OCP starts to mess with him and take away his emotions and he becomes very cold like the Robocop we know.

Crazy big spoiler story details:

The story does resolve around that they need Murphy he is the perfect candidate but they know he won't agree to it. So they hire bad guys to pretty much knock him out and "surgically" blow him away so they can get program under way. And also make Murphy's wife think that it is the only way to save Alex is to do this program and he will still be the man she loves. But lets say the company really back stabs that and then some. They just want a cold robot that does what it's told but give the appearance to the press and public that he can have emotions. They set up the whole family wanting him back thing to give it a good clean image. But in reality the company is being horrible about it.

One emotional part that turns him more to a machine (which is what the company and Norton wanted) was when they showed Murphy what was left of "him" they strip all his mechanical stuff and it is just some of his organs part of his head and a part of his brain. A pretty sad scene, especially when they make Murphy's wife look at it, to get her to run away from wanting to still be with Alex.

Holy crap! I don't know about you, but that sounds incredibly intense. This movie might end up being a lot better than what we previously thought! I'm actually kind of looking forward to it now. What do you think about these newly revealed details?
