Boba Fett and Pocahontas Mashup Cosplay - Bobahontas

"Bobahontas" is a mashup cosplay that combines the characters of Boba Fett and Pocahontas. It was created by Hendoart, and it's always fun to see what people come up with in the cosplay world. I love the unique look of this costume, and the cool little details that were put into it. I would have never of thought of mashing these two characters together, but Hendoart pulled it off beautifully. The photos you see here were taken by York In A Box

Kevin Feige Says BLACK PANTHER Will Be a "Big Geopolitical Action Adventure" Film

Black Panther will be introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe next year with the released of Captain America: Civil War. After that, the character will get his very own film, which will play an important role in leading us into Avengers: Infinity War

During an interview with Empire, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige talked about what we can expect from the standalone film.

"This one is important. Not only do you get an unbelievable lead character, but you also get all of Wakanda which is a whole new setting and culture to explore.”

Feige went on to say that Black Panther will have a "primarily African-American cast" and that it will play an important part in moving the story forward into Infinity War. When talking about the theme of the story he explained:

"It's a big geo-political action adventure that focuses on the family and royal struggle of T'Challa in Wakanda, and what is means to be a king. T'Challa's story is very important to us as it links to the next Avengers films, which is why we brought it forward."

A few weeks ago it was reported that Creed director Ryan Coogler was in talks to direct the film, which would be fantastic. The guy is a very talented filmmaker, and I think he could deliver a helluva great Black Panther movie.

So far, the movie stars Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa and maybe Ernie Hudson as T’Chaka. The movie is set to be released on February 16th, 2018.

Leonardo DiCaprio Talks About Turning Down The STAR WARS Prequels and BATMAN FOREVER

$

Leonardo DiCaprio is one of my favorite working actors, and that's mostly because he's made tremendously smart decisions throughout his career about the parts he's played and the people he's worked with. A large part of being conscientious about what parts to play involves knowing which parts you shouldn't play, and in a new interview with Shortlist, DiCaprio talks about why he turned down roles in the Star Wars prequels and Batman Forever:

Did that include playing Robin in Batman Forever? There’s a rumour you screen-tested for it...
I never screen-tested. I had a meeting with Joel Schumacher. It was just one meeting and, no, I didn’t end up doing it.
Did you actually want the role?
Er, I don’t think I did, no (laughs). As I recall I took the meeting, but didn’t want to play the role. Joel Schumacher is a very talented director but I don’t think I was ready for anything like that.
Do you feel like you dodged a bullet?
(Laughs.)
Were you in talks to play Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars prequels?
I did have a meeting with George Lucas about that as well, yes.
What happened?
Same scenario (laughs).
He wanted you, but you didn’t fancy it?
Um, right. Exactly.
Why?
Again, just didn’t feel ready to take that dive. At that point.

The actor also talks about how how he was once in discussions to play Spider-Man, and how, though he had some reservations about it in the past, he's no longer opposed to playing a superhero:

How close did you come to playing Spider-Man before your friend Tobey Maguire took the part?
Er, that was another one of those situations, similar to Robin, where I didn’t feel ready to put on that suit yet. They got in touch with me.
Would you like to play a superhero?
You never know. You never know. They’re getting better and better as far as complex characters in these movies. I haven’t yet. But no, I don’t rule out anything.

You can (and should) see DiCaprio in theaters now in The Revenant, and if the film isn't open in a theater near you yet, it should be expanding in the coming weeks.

NEIGHBORS 2, THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN, and THE JUNGLE BOOK Get New Photos

The stream of photos from Hollywood studios continues.

Universal Pictures has released the first pic from Neighbors 2, which sees Zac Efron and Seth Rogen suited up in short shorts while Rose Byrne is decked out in a cheerleader costume. Considering the fact that Chloe Grace Moretz and Selena Gomez joined the movie as sorority sisters, the new film will be about the stars from the first film joining forces to take down the sorority. That one hits theaters on May 20th, 2016.

Next up, EW has a couple of first-look photos of Emily Blunt as Rachel Watson in DreamWorks' The Girl on the Train, which is based on Paula Hawkins' best-selling novel. It's a suspense thriller about a wreck of a woman who rides the same train every day and imagines a made-up life for the couple she always sees out the window during her commute — until one day she witnesses something sinister and becomes embroiled in what happens next. I'm very excited to see this one, since I'm a big fan of Blunt's work. Tate Taylor (The Help) is directing, and that's the only thing that has me a little hesitant about this project. The Girl on the Train hits theaters on October 7th, 2016.

And finally, Empire has a new still from Jon Favreau's upcoming version of The Jungle Book, which features young Mowgli (Neel Sethi) embracing his wolf mother Raksha (Lupita Nyong'o). There's a lot of positive buzz out there about this movie right now, and we'll see if it's accurate when the film arrives in theaters on April 15th, 2016.

After nearly two years of waiting, we're finally only two days away from the return of Sherlock. The new episode is called The Abominable Bride, and it departs from the show's modern London setting to the classic Victorian setting of the original novels. If you can't wait another two days before getting another hit of something Sherlock-related, The BBC has released a behind-the-scenes featurette that features the cast and creators talking about the difficulties and intricacies of changing settings. Check it out below, along with the official synopsis:

“Dr John Watson, meet Mr Sherlock Holmes.”
We’ve been here before - but what if this wasn’t the modern day but the late Victorian period? What if the world’s most famous consulting detective and his best friend lived in a Baker Street of steam trains, hansom cabs, top hats and frock-coats?
Welcome to ‘Sherlock’ in 1895!
Some things, though, remain reassuringly the same. Friendship, adventure and especially, MURDER…
Why is Thomas Ricoletti a little surprised to see his wife dressed in her old wedding gown? Because, just a few hours before, she took her own life…
Mrs Ricoletti’s ghost now appears to be prowling the streets with an unslakeable thirst for revenge. From fog-shrouded Limehouse to the bowels of a ruined church, Holmes, Watson and their friends must use all their cunning to combat an enemy seemingly from beyond the grave and the final, shocking truth about… the Abominable Bride!

Kevin Feige Gives Details on GUARDIANS 2, THOR: RAGNAROK, and The New SPIDER-MAN

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has provided a few updates about upcoming MCU Phase 3 movies to Empire Magazine, and though that feature isn't online yet, CBM managed to track down the exact quotations of the interview. They talk about the three Marvel Studios movies that will be released in 2017, so let's go through them one by one:

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Looks like the roster for the team is going to change in the sequel. “There've been many different incarnations of the Guardians over the years in the comics and we'll catch a glimpse of additions over the course of the movie,” Feige said. As for the villain, “I wouldn't look too hard in that movie for Thanos. The next time we see Thanos he will not be messing around. It will be, 'Oh, that's why they've been teasing this villain for five years!”

Thor: Ragnarok

Apparently this film will be about more than just the end of the Asgardian world. “I don't think people will read into that title alone [regarding] what the movie's going to be,” he said. “It's going to be, perhaps, as totally different from the two prior Thor movies as Winter Soldier was from the first Captain America. We want to take it to new places, we've got new characters that will show how big we're swinging on this. And we have a Hulk." As for where it takes place, Feige confirms that most of the action will be seen "within the cosmos primarily which is to say, frankly, very little Earth.”

Spider-Man

It sounds like this new solo film is going to be a smaller movie than Marvel Studios fans can expect in other Phase 3 features, but Feige explained that a “smaller scale is all relative. It's going to be as big and spectacular a Spider-Man film as has ever been made. But it's a Peter Parker story and has more opportunity to be focused on the story of a 15-year-old kid going to high school.”

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 arrives on May 5th, 2017, the untitled solo Spider-Man film arrives on July 28th, 2017, and Thor: Ragnarok hits on November 3rd, 2017.

More DOCTOR STRANGE Info About Baron Mordo and The Ancient One

After we experience Captain America: Civil War next summer, there will only be a few months left until we see the next movie in the MCU, Doctor Strange. Scott Derrickson's movie is going to be different than anything we've seen in the Marvel Studios films thus far: trippy, psychedelic, and "edge of horror-movie-dark."

EW has two more interviews that shed some more light on the movie. First up, they spoke with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige about The Ancient One, the character being played by Tilda Swinton in the film:

“We’re never afraid to change,” says Doctor Strange producer and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. “In the comic books, Jarvis is an elderly butler. In the movies, he’s an A.I. system which becomes Paul Bettany’s Vision. We are always looking for ways to change. I think if you look at some of the early incarnations of the Ancient One in the comics, they are what we would consider today to be quite, sort of, stereotypical. They don’t hold up to what would work today. Also, within the storyline of the comics, and our movie, ‘the Ancient One’ is a title that many people have had. We hit very early on on, What if the Ancient One was a woman? What if the title had been passed and the current Ancient One is a woman? Oh, that’s an interesting idea. [Clicks fingers.] Tilda Swinton! Whoah! And it just hit.”
“Look, she’s a chameleon in everything she does. She has this amazing [ability to] harness of this androgynous sense. So, we use the term ‘her’ and ‘she’ in the film but, other than that, it’s very androgynous. Because it doesn’t matter.”

Swinton herself doesn't care whether she's playing a male or female version of the character, either, responding “I wouldn’t know how to answer that one. I think it’s all in the eye of the beholder.”

Elsewhere, Baron (Karl) Mordo, actor Chiwetel Ejiofor describes his character's relationship with both Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and The Ancient One:

“In terms of his life with the Ancient One, it’s this long and intense relationship they have that’s just very deep and very connected. I think they both recognize in Strange this certain quality that they feel is going to be very useful in a situation they’re in — just by the nature of who he is, and the way that he operates, and the way his mind works, and the certain skill set and personality that he has. So, when they all meet, they realize that he’s somebody that can be plugged into this very surreal, interesting, sort of fascinating circumstance that they’re all in, and the dangers that they face. And so it becomes a process of assimilating him into their ways of life.”

But is he going to eventually become a villain in the film?

“Oh, he’s a very complex character that, really, I don’t think can be nailed down either way, you know,” the actor demurs. “I guess it’s something to experience, is what I’d say.”

Doctor Strange arrives in theaters on November 4th, 2016.

Review: THE ART OF STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS

$

The release of nearly every major blockbuster is accompanied by the release of a book dedicated to the art of that film, and often they're enjoyable — if slight — pieces of entertainment that may provide a couple of small insights into the movie in question and do little more than look good on a coffee table. The Art of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, however, is the rare art book that is actually worth going out and purchasing right now, because it's jam-packed with literally hundreds of pieces of amazing concept art that fans of the movie could spend hours poring over.

Written by Lucasfilm image archivist Phil Szostak, who worked in The Force Awakens' art department from 2012 through the end of production, the book is full of first-hand accounts from artists, designers, and animators as they talk about the artwork generated from the early days of the movie's development all the way up through post-production. Plus, Szostak provides a timeline that takes readers month by month through the development process, giving us insights into what director J.J. Abrams and his team were working on at any given time and how the story eventually evolved into what we saw on screen.

Being able to see concept art of Kira and Sam (who would become Rey and Finn) is a cool way to trace how the movie was made, and you can see how story decisions formed and influenced the art moving through the production and vice versa — there are a handful of images that are replicated almost 100% accurately in the movie. Reading The Art of Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the equivalent of watching a time lapse of a sculptor carving a solid block of marble into a gorgeous statue, and it's awesome to see the boundless creativity of the designers and artists involved in the making of one of the year's biggest movies. There are likely going to be many more books written about the making of this movie, and while they may end up providing a more detailed blow-by-blow of what happened on what day during the production, none of them will have as many jaw-dropping pieces of artwork as this one.

If this sounds like it's up your alley, you can get it on Amazon right here. Check out a very small selection of the book's artwork below.

Possible Spoiler Filled First Reaction to BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE

$

Looks like Warner Bros. has held an early test screening for Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and it looks like one fan just couldn't stop himself from saying anything about it. It's not uncommon for a studio to hold a test screening for a film like this, but it looks like this guy decided to violate the NDA. In fact, the person used a throw-away Reddit account that he named "ViolatingNDA." That being said, we don't know for sure if this person actually did attend a screening, but if he did, he definitely had some things to say about it!

The following write up contains possible big SPOILERS, so proceed at your own risk!

“Hey DC_Cinematic, i’m using a throwaway account for obvious reasons, but I saw the movie last night! I use a website for advance screenings and I got tickets for a mystery film and it turned out to be BvS. The movie was very long, as long as TFA if I were to make a comparison. It didn’t drag though; every minute of the film was used effectively.
"Performances were all great. Jesse Eisenberg as Lex is way more complex than what the trailers show. By the end of the film, you will HATE him, but at the same time, you can’t help admire how capable this guy is. Ben Affleck as Bruce/Batman is definitely the standout performance. I was surprised/scared how different he became when he put the mask on. This Batman will come across as a villain to some viewers; he enjoys inflicting pain on criminals. There was a scene where he was branding a criminal, and he had the biggest smile on his face. I don’t know how fans will react to that, but I felt it worked with this version of the character.
"Everyone else was great too, even the new supporting characters played by Jena Malone and Scoot McNairy. Jena Malone plays a crippled Barbara Gordon. She doesn’t have much screentime, but she does make a Killing Joke reference about an amusement park incident involving her now retired father. Scoot is playing Jimmy Olsen who was injured during the events of Man of Steel. He does not blame Superman like the others, but supports him and views him as a hero. He has a popular blog about Superman.
"The third act was mindblowing. The Doomsday reveal in the trailer is just the tip of the iceberg. There is a lot of action, and I loved every moment of it. The first and second acts are the “Batman v Superman” parts of the movie, while the third act is entirely “Dawn of Justice.” You will see a fully assembled Justice League by the end of the film.
"All in all, BvS is the greatest comic book movie since The Dark Knight, and I can’t wait to see it again come March. If anyone has questions, i’ll be glad to answer.”

The biggest reveals in this brief rundown of the film are that we will get to see the fully assembled Justice League team and the identity of Jena Malone's character, which seemed to be expected from some of the fans.

Again, none of this could be true, but if it is... What do you think!?

Thanks to Empire, we have four new photos from Deadpool! We've been getting Deadpool goodies everyday since Fox started their "12 Days of Deadpool" marketing campaign, and it just hasn't stopped! The awesomeness just keeps rolling in like a freight train of death.

They include images of Deadpool dancing, director Tim Miller doing his thing, and T.J. Miller as Weasel. After the last trailer, I'm just craving more and more from this film! From what we've seen, I'm confident that Miller and Ryan Reynolds did Deadpool proud.

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

The movie also stars Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, Gina Carano, and Brianna HildebrandDeadpool is set to be released on February 12th, 2016.

Rare Never-Before-Seen BACK TO THE FUTURE Poster

rare-never-before-seen-back-to-the-future-poster

I've seen a few unused posters for Back to the Future over the years, but I've never this one before because it's never been released to the public until now! I came across it over on Collider, and I had to share it with the rest of you. I thought you'd all get a kick out of this poster that could have been.

The never-before-seen alternate Back to the Future poster comes from Ewbank Auctions, and it will be part of a series of movie poster auctions that will be taking place in February 2016 at the auction house.

Apparently, the poster was found by a former employee at Lonsdale Advertising in England in their collection. There's no information on who the artist is, but I'm sure there are people trying to find out.

I really like the concept of a colorful Marty McFly falling out of his 1985 timeline into the black and white 1955 timeline where George McFly and Lorraine Baines are prominently featured. I think it's interesting that Doc Brown wasn't even utilized.

As fun as the poster is, It's no where near as great as the final poster design used for the film, which was created by the great Drew Struzan

"I thought living behind these walls was possible. I was wrong."

AMC has released a new teaser trailer for the second half of The Walking Dead's sixth season! Things aren't looking up for Rick and the town of Alexandria. They aren't going to be able to make a home there like they had hoped, especially with the introduction of the insane villain Negan, whose presence is teased in the trailer.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC on February 14th, 2016. This has been such a great season so far, and I can't wait to see this story arc continue.

STAR WARS Fan Spends a Year Building Custom 7,500-piece LEGO Millennium Falcon

LEGO has some officially licensed Star Wars Millennium Falcon playsets, and over the years we've seen fans custom build their own. But this one, created by Marshal Banana (via Brothers Brick), is in a league of its own. He spent an entire year building this version of the Falcon, which is based on the design used for Star Wars: The Force Awakens

At 7,500 pieces, Marshal’s Millennium Falcon uses fully 50% more parts than the 5,195-piece official 10179 UCS Millennium Falcon (the second-largest LEGO set ever sold by part count, and arguably physically the largest set ever). This LEGO Millennium Falcon measures 82 x 54 x 18 cm, or nearly three feet long.

The details on this thing is incredible, and it ever has light-up engines and guns! To see more photos, head on over to Flickr.

Disney Has Released a Second Full Trailer For ZOOTOPIA

We've got a new trailer for Disney's latest animated adventure, Zootopia, for you to watch. It doesn't seem like there's a lot of hype building for the film, but I think it looks like it will be a lot of fun. This latest trailer gives us a much better sense of what the story will be and introduces us to a lot of new characters. The first trailer basically just showed us a clip of the film featuring the two main characters trying to obtain information from the DMV, which was being run by a bunch of slow moving sloths.

The modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia is a city like no other. Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together—a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But when rookie Officer Judy Hopps (voice of Ginnifer Goodwin) arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde (voice of Jason Bateman), to solve the mystery. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Zootopia,”

The comedy-adventure is being directed by Byron Howard (Tangled, Bolt) and Rich Moore (Wreck-It Ralph, The Simpsons) and co-directed by Jared Bush (Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero). The voice cast also includes Shakira, Idris Elba, J.K. Simmons, Nate Torrence, Jenny Slate, Tommy Chong, Octavia Spencer, Bonnie Hunt, Don Lake, Alan Tudyk, Tommy “Tiny” Lister, Raymond Persi, Katie Lowes, Jesse Corti, and John DiMaggio.

Zootopia opens in theaters on March 4th, 2016.

James Gunn Says CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Is "One of Marvel's Best Movies Ever"

During a live Q&A session on Facebook recently, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn revealed that he has seen a cut of Marvel's Captain America: Civil War, and he says it's "one of Marvel's best movies ever."

You may be thinking to yourself, "of course he's going to say that, he works for Marvel!" But if he didn't like the movie, he probably wouldn't have said anything at all. He didn't hesitate to excitedly talk about the film and what he thought about it. The guy is a Marvel fan just like the rest of us!

During the live Q&A, he said the film was "incredible" and praised Joe and Anthony Russo's work on the film, saying they did an "awesome" job. Gunn talked about how happy he was with the cast, and even called Tom Holland's turn as Peter Parker/Spider-Man as "off the charts awesome" and "amazing." He doesn't get into the nitty gritty details of the film, so there are no spoilers. If you want to watch the full Q&A, you can do so below.

It's awesome to see Gunn so excited about this movie. The guy has great taste in films, and I trust his judgement. Knowing that he's excited about what he saw in this movie gets me even more excited to see it for myself!

Chris Hemsworth Wants Thor to Get in on Some GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Action

$

Chris Hemsworth has been out doing a lot of interviews recently and he's constantly being asked about Thor and what's in store for the character in his next movie, Thor: Ragnarok.

In three different interviews, the actor talked about different aspects of the character. He spoke about wanting to see Thor jump in on some Guardians of the Galaxy adventures, what actress he'd like to see join Thor: Ragnarok as the villain, and also how they are mixing things up with his third film.

When talking to MTV News, the actor was asked which other Marvel franchise he'd like to see Thor appear in. This was his reply:

“I'd love him to hang out with the Guardians crew. I love that film and there's a great amount of fun to be had.”

It's not that surprising that he would respond with this answer. There's no doubt the Marvel fans would like to see it too! I doubt that will happen any time soon, though. In a separate interview with CinemaBlend, Hemsworth was asked who he thinks would make the best female villain in Thor: Ragnarok out of his Huntsman co-stars Charlize Theron, Jessica Chastain, and Emily Blunt. He says:

“They all have potential to scare the hell out of me, any of those women. I felt like the little brother, getting bossed around by these three women in the best way. Oh God, don’t make me pick one... maybe Jessica, but that’s only because [Emily and Charlize] are already villains in our film.”

I could totally see Chastain in the role of The Enchantress if Marvel is going the route I think they are. Seeing her star alongside Cate Blanchett (who may be playing Hela) would be awesome.

Finally, during another interview with the Toronto Sun, Hemsworth explains that Marvel is taking steps to keep Thor fresh and interesting, saying:

“The danger is when you have a long line of films — as with Thor — you do think you have all the answers and, if you think you know how to do it, you sort of sleepwalk through it. That would become sort of boring. So you’ve got to keep looking at different ways to advance it and do things that are unexpected, and keep looking deeper within the story.”

Hemsworth hasn't read a script for the film yet, but he knows what's in store for the character:

“There certainly has been a huge discussion and there is definitely a goal to do something unexpected in the third one and really mix it up. Everyone seems to be on the same page! There is so much exposure on that character and you just don’t want him to be predictable ... but I think we want to get back to more of a sense of adventure and fun in the third Thor.”

There's lot of fun stuff here to think about and discuss. Thor: Ragnarok is being scripted by Christopher Yost, Craig Kyle, and Stephany Folsom with Taika Waititi set to direct. The movie is scheduled to be released in theaters on November 3rd, 2017.

Thrilling Animated Adventure Short — JACK AND THE MYSTERIOUS LOST ORB

$

I've got an awesome animated short for you to watch today called Jack and the Mysterious Lost Orb, which follows a Rocket Raccoon-type character who steals some kind of glowing ball artifact. This action leads to him being chased down by the object’s guardian, who is a giant shadow monster. The film was created by Pierre-Marie Adnet, Coralie Bruschi, Mylène Cominotti, Marion Coudert, and Valentin Lucas for Gobelins and it has a fun, sci-fi, Indiana Jones kind of vibe to it. The short is only a minute long, but it manages to tell a very fun and engaging story.
