TWIN PEAKS Revival Series Teased in Showtime Promo Spot

$

0

Showtime has released the first promo spot for David Lynch's Twin Peaks revival series. The promo focuses on the location where the series is currently shooting. I honestly can't believe this series is actually making a comeback. It almost didn't happen, even after it was initially announced, but thankfully Lynch and Showtime worked out their differences.

The promo is narrated by actor Michael Horse, who played Deputy Tommy 'Hawk' Hill in the series. It also features some beautiful aerial shots of the misty Northeastern production location, the eerie Twin Peaks score by Angelo Badalamenti, and it ends with the iconic welcome sign.

Several members of the original cast will be reprising their roles in the series, and here's the synopsis that Showtime has released. Unfortunately, it's light on plot details:

The critically-acclaimed, ground breaking television phenomenon TWIN PEAKS returns as a limited series to SHOWTIME in 2017. Currently in production, TWIN PEAKS is written and produced by series creators and executive producers David Lynch and Mark Frost and is directed entirely by David Lynch. While the full mystery awaits, fans can expect many familiar faces, including Golden Globe® winner and Emmy® Award nominee Kyle MacLachlan, who reprises his role as FBI Agent Dale Cooper.

Widely considered one of the most groundbreaking and influential broadcast series of all time, TWIN PEAKS followed the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town who were stunned after their homecoming queen Laura Palmer was shockingly murdered. The town's sheriff welcomed the help of FBI agent Dale Cooper, who came to town to investigate the case. As Cooper conducted his search for Laura's killer, the town's secrets were gradually exposed. The mystery that ensued set off an eerie chain of events that plunged the inhabitants of Twin Peaks into a darker examination of their very existence. Twenty-five years later, the story continues...

The series will premiere in 2017. If you've never watched Twin Peaks before, do yourself a favor and check it out!

Jeremy Renner Set to Play Legendary Boxer Rocky Marciano in Biopic

$

0

Jeremy Renner has been cast as legendary boxer Rocky Marciano in a new biopic being developed by producer Morris S. Levy. Marciano held the heavyweight champion title from 1952 to 1956, and what makes Marciano such a badass is the fact that he is the only heavyweight boxing champion ever to retire undefeated with a record of 49-0.

The story for the film will follow Marciano from his days as a kid to his death in a plane crash in 1969. The script is being written by Samuel Franco and Evan Kilgore, and Levy is currently on the hunt for a director.

Renner is an incredible actor whose career really took off after he starred in The Hurt Locker. Now most of us just know him as Hawkeye from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's great to see that he landed such a great lead role in this movie. He seems like he is the perfect fit. If it weren't him, I think Jon Bernthal would have been a great choice as well.

Want to Know Who Exactly Daniel Craig Played in STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS?

Earlier this year Simon Pegg accidently revealed that Daniel Craig played a Stormtrooper in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Now that the film is in theaters, and people are starting to talk, we've learned what Stormtrooper he plays in the film.

SPOILERS ahead for anyone who hasn't seen the film yet:

According to EW, the Stormtrooper that was guarding Daisy Ridley's character Rey after she is captured and interrogated by Kylo Ren is Craig. This is the Stormtrooper that she taps into The Force to use a Jedi mind trick on.

"You will remove these restraints and leave this cell with the door open," she says. It doesn't work at first, but after a couple goes at it, she gets him!

On top of that, the voices of many of the Stormtroopers were done by Star Wars: The Clone Wars and LucasArts alums. David Collins revealed them a screenshot of the credits. There you can see names such a Dee Bradley Baker, Dave Filoni, Tom Kane, Matthew Lanter, Meredith Salenger, and more.

It's pretty cool that Craig actually did have a fun unseen cameo in the movie. He completely denied it at one point though when he told EW,

“Why would I ever bother doing something like that? F—ing hell! Pffft. Play an extra in another movie.”

According to a studio insider, Craig did it for “ sh–s and grins.” He did great!

We've got some more Deadpool movie goodness for you to check out today! Above you'll find a classy new poster for the movie that was posted by Ryan Reynolds as part of the "12 Days of Deadpool" celebration. The poster came with this amusing note:

"This sweater is like wearing a coffin made entirely out of adorable."

Hot Toys also announced that there will be a 1/6 scale Deadpool collectible action figure, and you can get your first look at it in the images below.

Finally, we have a description of the Deadpool movie IMAX teaser that is playing in from of IMAX screenings for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It hasn't made its way online yet, but to tide you over until it does, here's a description. I haven't personally seen it yet because I haven't been to an IMAX screening of The Force Awakens, so this description comes from ComicBook.com:

It starts with Deadpool, sitting on a couch, holding a chimichanga.
"This is your brain," he says. "Well, actually, this is a chimichanga," but hey, jokes are better when they're explained, right Wade (and yes we realize the irony of that comment in this particular post).
Then, zooming out, instead of a coffee table, there's a giant chimichanga.
"This is your brain on IMAX," Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) says. He then does his "Cue the music" line, and we see about a fifteen second TV Spot-style trailer, which features no new footage outside of the original trailer - it's just on a much bigger screen.
The trailer ends, telling fans to see Deadpool in IMAX starting February 12, 2016.

The full new trailer comes on Christmas day, December 25th, so stay tuned!

Star Wars as been a huge deal for fans since it was first introduced in 19778, and it’s grown even bigger in the run up to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which just came out. There’s been a lot of art dedicated to said franchise. At first glance, this piece wouldn’t seem like art, just a bunch of random pieces here and there. But when the light hits it just right, it creates a shadow that shows Star Wars images. It was created by pop artist Red Hong Yi, and the video below will shows more cool images and the behind the scenes magic of how these were created.

David Hasselhoff Is Back as Knight Rider in Trailer for KNIGHT RIDER HEROES

david-hasselhoff-is-back-as-knight-rider-in-trailer-for-knight-rider-heroes

I had no idea that there was a Knight Rider film in production starring David Hasselhoff until I saw this trailer for Knight Rider Heroes. There's really not that much information on the project, other than this vague tagline:

The Foundation for Law and Government has a new mission...You sure you're ready for this?

There's an official website as well where you can sign up for updates. Hasselhoff reprises his role as Michael Knight, and it looks like he's enlisted the help of someone to accompany him on his newest adventure.

A couple of years ago The Weinstein Company started developing a feature film version of Knight Rider, but this is not associated with that project. Knight Rider Heroes comes from Knight Industries Media Inc.

I grew up watching Knight Rider. I loved that show, so of course, I'm interested to see what this turns out to be. I can't help be think it will be a ridiculously bad movie that will offer us some nostalgic laughs.

Vixen Confirmed to Make Her Live-Action Debut in ARROW

Vixen, the heroine who made her debut in CW's DC Universe in the animated series Vixen, will be making her live-action debut in Arrow. If you've never seen the Vixen series, you can watch it on CW Seed. The series crosses over with both Arrow and The Flash, both of whose characters have appeared in the cartoon series.

Vixen will be played by Megalyn Echikunwoke, who is the same actress who voiced Vixen in the animated series. I think that's pretty damn cool to see that she will go from voicing the character to actually playing her in real life.

Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim tells TV Insider:

"We’re not only thrilled to be further expanding our DC television universe by bringing in the live-action incarnation of the CW Seed hit, Vixen, we’re immensely excited that Megalyn will be revisiting her role as Mari McCabe."

Vixen is set to appear in episode 15 of Arrow’s current season. The air date for that is February 24th, 2016. It'll be fun to see how this story arc plays out. I imagine this won't the last time she shows up in the CW DC Universe. She's a great character, and I'm sure this will turn out to be awesome.

Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, Select, Start! I’m sure you all remember that secret cheat code from Konami’s classic video game Contra. For those of you who grew up as fans of the game like I did, you’ll be excited to know that NECA is releasing action figures for the two main characters, Private First Class Bill Rizer and Lance Bean.

The 7” figures were made using the 8-bit games’ limited color palette and graphics. They also come with various accessories and ridiculous weapons that they used in the game.

I love that the figures also come in the same box packaging that the original NES game came in.

Frank Miller Wants to Write a Superman Comic Where Batman Is the Villain

$

It doesn’t seem like Frank Miller is going to be finished with writing stories for Batman and Superman anytime soon. A few weeks ago he revealed that he was planning to write Dark Knight IV. We now have another story idea for these two characters that he’d like to tell. The news came from Bleeding Cool, who offered the following information on what Miller said:

“So while he again affirmed that Brian Azzarello is the actual writer of Dark Knight 3: The Master Race, he told us about a project he would like to create similar to the Dark Knight but focused on Superman. But a story in which Batman, Bruce Wayne, is the bad guy.”

It’s not hard to imagine Batman as a villain. It seems like Zack Snyder is painting him that way a little bit in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. I’d be interested to see what Miller would do with a villainous Batman storyline. Miller has done great work in the past, and I would love to see him do great work again. Maybe that will happen with this or Dark Knight IV. Only time will tell.

Kevin Smith Explains What He Wants to See in New Solo BATMAN Movie

$

Warner Bros. and Ben Affleck are in the process of developing a new solo Batman film, and there’s a chance it could turn out to be a trilogy. Fans all have their opinions on what they would like to see come out of these films, but one fan has a lot more clout than everyone else. That fan is Kevin Smith, and he recently appeared on Screen JunkiesMovie Fights, and discussed what he would like to see in this solo Batman film. He said:

"I'm going to give you two versions. I was going to say Hush, because you get all the characters. In a world where DC is trying to launch the DC cinematic universe, this would be a way to do it and introduce all of Batman's rogues' gallery in one movie. So naturally, that's your money decision right here. But I'm not going to go studio, I'm going to go from the heart."

He then went on to say that he'd like to see a big screen adaptation of Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns and that it should be directed by Mad Max's George Miller. He went on to explain:

"Now, this is a great combination of material and filmmaker. The man can direct....Give the story of the old Batman to the 70-year-old director who made the amazing-looking Fury Road. It's a no-brainer."

Smith then revealed that if the film were in his hands, he actually might reach back out to Batman and Robin's George Clooney. He thinks that the actor has got a much better Batman in him than what we saw in that awful film. The filmmaker also believes that it would be interesting to see him try to redeem himself from his last Batman performance. It would definitely be interesting, but as much as I like Clooney, I don’t care to see him in the role of Batman ever again.

What do you think of Smith’s suggestions? I’d personally love to see Miller direct a straight up adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns… but not with Clooney.

Fans are really touchy about spoilers these days, but there are a few movies that actually give away a major spoiler at the beginning of the film. If you weren’t looking for it, though, then there’s a good chance that you may have missed it.

In today’s pop culture, avoiding spoilers is everything while awaiting a highly-anticipated movie. But sometimes, studios can’t contain themselves. We’re not talking about trailers or advertising. There are instances where the film will spoil itself. Here are Screen Rant’s 10 Spoilers Hidden At The Start Of Popular Films.

Paramount Pictures has released five new character posters for Ben Stiller’s Zoolander No. 2. They feature Stiller as Zoolander, Owen Wilson returning as Hansel, Penelope Cruz as Valentina, Will Ferell as Jacobim Mugatu, and Kristen Wiig as Alexanya Atoz.

In case you missed the trailers for the film, you can watch the domestic trailer here, and the International trailer here. I was fan of the first film, and this sequel looks like it will be just as funny.

“It’s ten years later and most of it is set in Europe. It’s basically Derek and Hansel ten years later – though the last movie ended on a happy note a lot of things have happened in the meantime. Their lives have changed and they’re not really relevant anymore. It’s a new world for them.”

The film sees them trying to reinvent themselves as they embark on an adventure to find out who is killing young male models who seem to be Zoolander loyalists.

The movie also stars Christine Taylor and Cyrus Arnold, with cameos by Benedict Cumberbatch, Billy Zane, Fred Armisen, Justin Bieber, Kyle Mooney, Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande, and more.

Zoolander No. 2 will be released on February 12th, 2016.

STAR WARS Infographic Shows the Evolution of Boba Fett

$

Boba Fett may not have had a huge role in the Star Wars saga, and he may have been ridiculously killed off, but he sure did leave a lasting impression! Like many of you, I’m a big fan of the character, and I’m excited for the day when we see him get his own solo film.

Halloween Costumes has released an interesting infographic that breaks down the evolution of the character. from his first conception in 1978 to the cancelled Star Wars 1313 video game in 2012.

Besides the dark, sloping helmet of Darth Vader, there are few things more villainous and iconic in the Star Wars universe than Boba Fett. Officially introduced in the second film of the original trilogy, The Empire Strikes Back, the rollout of Boba Fett to the already ravenous fandom in the late 1970s was a carefully orchestrated affair. Before the film, Fett appeared in cartoons, action figures, and even in a small-town parade. Lucasfilm clearly intended for Fett to be a memorable character. There is no stronger evidence to this fact than the many revisions the character went through before his debut in Empire. See how the galaxy’s most fearsome bounty hunter arrived at his influential look with this evolution of Boba Fett infographic.
