The Cast of THE FORCE AWAKENS Offers a Lesson On How To Play With Their Action Figures

The Internet is exploding with news, reviews, and, above all, spoilers about Star Wars: The Force Awakens. But I will take it easy with this post and show the cool, childish, and fan-like side of some of the most important actors staring in the new movie.

The Force Awakens arrives with a brand-new cast, and Star Wars fans are rewarded with brand new action figures modeled after Finn, Rey, Han Solo, Kylo Ren, and more. Interestingly enough, in the past such “figurines” were considered to be children's toys, but as the time passed, they started to be marketed as collector's items.

In the video below, you can see how John Boyega, Harrison Ford, Adam Driver, and Daisy Ridley engaged in an excitement-filled demonstration on how to properly use the collectibles inspired by them.

P.S. Han Solo’s reactions are simply the best!

Vin Diesel's New RIDDICK Movie Will Be An Origin Story

Last month Vin Diesel revealed that he would be developing a new Riddick movie and a TV series with his franchise director David Twohy. The only thing we really knew about the sequel up until now is that it would be called Furia. Diesel posted a video of himself with Twohy, and in that video, they reveal some new details on the movie and that it will be an origin story. Diesel says:

"Do you want to know where it all started? Where it all began with that dark character called Riddick?"

He goes on to reveal that they are looking to start shooting the sequel in early 2017. Twohy jokes that it takes the actor that long to get into character. But in reality, he is working on a ton of other projects right now including Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2Fast & Furious 8The Pacifier 2, and xXx 3.

According to Twohy, the story will be a prequel that gives fans a sense of the Riddick's back story. The two couldn't agree on if the film should be rated PG-13 or an R, though.

It was also recently reported that Diesel has signed a deal with Universal TV that includes the Riddick TV series, which Diesel would produce. I've enjoyed all of the Riddick films so far, and it will be interesting to see how they tackle an origin film, especially since Diesel will be 17 years older than he was when he made Pitch Black, which came out in 2000. I'm excited to see it, though!

The awesome X-Men: Apocalypse trailer that was released last week seemed to get fans excited for what Bryan Singer has made. That trailer has been awesomely re-edited using footage from the classic 1990s cartoon series that many of us grew up watching.

The trailer was created by YouTube user Philysteak, and it's pretty cool to see how well it turned out. The editor did a great job matching the dialogue and sound from the trailer with the footage from the series. If you're a fan of the '90s X-Men series, you're gonna enjoy this.

10 Movies That Used Props From Other Films

$

it's no secret that movies reuse things from other films to make new movies. They do this with footage, sets, and even some props. One of the main reasons for this to help save money on production costs. Screen Rant's most recent movie list focuses on movie props that were used in other films. A few of the things it shows is how The Avengers used the same plane as True Lies, how Back to the Future’s Mr. Fusion was really a Krups coffee maker, which was also used in Alien, and how Terminator 2 used the same weapon as Predator.

As the saying goes: if it ain't broke, don't fix it - and the same goes for movie props. With dozens of blockbusters released every year, it only makes sense for studios and producers to reuse sets, weapons, gadgets, or props, but fans aren't usually meant to notice them. You'd be surprised to see how many of your favorite movies were filled with recycled material, but more often than not, it only makes watching them even better. Here are Screen Rant's 10 Movies That Stole Their Props From Other Films.

EDGE OF TOMORROW 2 Idea "Locked and Loaded" and MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 6 Teased

Earlier this year, we learned that Tom Cruise came up with a story idea for Edge of Tomorrow 2. He pitched that idea to director Doug Liman and writer Christopher McQuarrie. The sequel would also involve Emily Blunt's badass character, Rita Vrataski. Shortly after that, McQuarrie did an interview in which he said they had a "kernel of an idea." He explained at the time:

"It all comes down to Warner Bros. and Doug Liman and Emily Blunt saying yes. The idea is there. At worst, it’s the kernel of an idea – which is, on one hand, great, but on the other hand, I know what a nightmare that is. I know that I’ll be in the void trying to figure that out. And even then when it came out in the press after Tom had mentioned it, right away, there were people on social media saying, 'Don’t do it, it should never have a sequel, etc., etc.' And I’m just laughing because I’m like, 'You guys don’t even know what we are talking about! You have no idea!' Look, that was one of the best creative teams I’ve ever worked with as far as a team of rivals: Emily is one facet of that; Doug Liman is a completely different and opposing force; Tom Cruise is another. And there I am in the middle, just playing to these three really strong, really smart people."

It seems like there has been some movement on the sequel's development, because in a recent interview with Collider, McQuarrie was asked about the film and he said the idea for the sequel is locked and loaded:

"We have the idea for the sequel locked and loaded."

When asked if he has started writing a treatment for the movie yet, all he would say is:

"I don’t know what I can say. I can only say it’s a going concern."

This may not be a huge update, but it's good to know that they are still moving forward with it. It sounds like a project that they are continually developing, which means the sequel will probably happen. I loved the first film, but with the way it ended the thought of a sequel never crossed my mind. I would be completely fine if a sequel didn't happen, but now that there's been all this talk of one, I'm actually very curious to see what they are planning for it.

During the interview, McQuarrie also talked about Mission: Impossible 6, which he is set to direct. He and Tom Cruise are hard at work developing that, and he explains how they are looking to raise the bar:

"Look, we definitely have to raise the bar, we’ve got to do that every time. And we have an idea for one sequence in particular and it’s one we’re very, very excited about. It’s going to be incredibly challenging to do, and we’re very excited."

You can't have a proper Mission: Impossible movie without an epic and challenging sequence! It'll be fun to see what situation Ethan Hunt finds himself in this next time around.

In a previous interview with moviefone, the writer and director teased a scene that wasn't used on Rogue Nation that could possibly be the scene they want to bring to life in their upcoming sixth film:

"There was one we really loved [that involved] a glass bridge -- a footbridge going from one building to another, And that glass device Ethan uses to break into the factory or the power plant [in "Rogue Nation"], he uses the same glass breaking device to destroy this entire glass bridge."
"It was going to be this spectacular image, and unfortunately it was just so unbelievably expensive and we had to jump through so many hoops to put them on that glass bridge, we ultimately put it in the file with all the other things that will show up in another [film]."

So maybe they're going to pull that one out of the file! It sounds like it could be a pretty spectacular scene.

Jon Favreau's THE JUNGLE BOOK Gets a Short Teaser and Motion Poster

Disney has released a brief teaser and motion poster for Jon Favreau's live-action adaptation of The Jungle Book. There a new full trailer that will be released sometime in the near future, so stay tuned for that. I'm incredibly excited for this movie, and from what I've seen so far, it looks like Favreau managed to nail the kind of film that fans would love to see in an adaptation of this animated Disney classic.

The Jungle Book is an all-new live-action epic adventure about Mowgli (newcomer Neel Sethi), a man-cub who’s been raised by a family of wolves. But Mowgli finds he is no longer welcome in the jungle when fearsome tiger Shere Khan (voice of Idris Elba), who bears the scars of Man, promises to eliminate what he sees as a threat. Urged to abandon the only home he’s ever known, Mowgli embarks on a captivating journey of self-discovery, guided by panther-turned-stern mentor Bagheera (voice of Ben Kingsley), and the free-spirited bear Baloo (voice of Bill Murray). Along the way, Mowgli encounters jungle creatures who don’t exactly have his best interests at heart, including Kaa (voice of Scarlett Johansson), a python whose seductive voice and gaze hypnotizes the man-cub, and the smooth-talking King Louie (voice of Christopher Walken), who tries to coerce Mowgli into giving up the secret to the elusive and deadly red flower: fire. The all-star cast also includes Lupita Nyong'o as the voice of the fiercely protective mother wolf Raksha, and Giancarlo Esposito as the voice of wolf pack’s alpha male Akela.

The Jungle Book swings into theaters on April 15th, 2016. To watch the previously-released trailers click on the following links: Domestic and International.

Nostalgic Teaser For Netflix's FULLER HOUSE — "Life is Full Again"

Earlier this year, my kids discovered Full House, so I've been rewatching a lot of the episodes with them. The show is so cheesy, but my kids loved it, and of course I enjoyed it as well when I was growing up! It's kinda cool to know that the Tanner family is coming back in a new series called Fuller House. We have the first teaser trailer for you to watch today, and to be honest, I wasn't really excited for this series until I saw this promo. It will be fun to see all these fan favorite characters back together again after all these years.

In Fuller House, the adventures that began in 1987 on “Full House” continue, with veterinarian D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Candace Cameron Bure) recently widowed and living in San Francisco. D.J.’s younger sister/aspiring musician Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin) and D.J.’s lifelong best friend/fellow single mother Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber), along with Kimmy’s feisty teenage daughter Ramona (Soni Nicole Bringas), all move in to help take care of D.J.’s three boys — the rebellious 12-year-old Jackson (Michael Champion), neurotic 7-year-old Max (Elias Harger) and her newborn baby, Tommy Jr (Messitt Twins).

The new show will also feature guest appearances by John Stamos (Jesse Katsopolis), Bob Saget (Danny Tanner), Dave Coulier (Joey Gladstone), Lori Loughlin (Becky Katsopolis), and Scott Weinger (Steve Hale).

Fuller House will premiere on Netflix on Friday, February 26th, and there will be 13 episodes in its first season.

Deadpool's "12 Days of Deadpool" marketing campaign continues with a couple fun new images from Empire. The first features Deadpool tagging a brick wall with his logo, and a message that reads "Coming Soon." They also released a letter Deadpool wrote to Santa Claus that includes his Christmas list.

Fox's marketing team seems to be having a fun time promoting this movie. I've been enjoying everything that they've released so far for the film, and it seems like the fans have been enjoying it as well. I can't wait to see this movie! There's no doubt it's going to kick so much ass!

THE FLASH Will Introduce The DC Villain Geomancer

There’s a new DC villain coming to The Flash! ComicBook.com is reporting that actor Adam Stafford has been cast in the series as Adam Fells a.k.a. Geomancer.

The TV version of Geomancer is described as "a dangerous meta-human with the unique ability to create earthquakes. Intent on destroying the Flash, Geomancer uses his powers to unleash a string of targeted earthquakes, optimistic that he’ll draw out the Flash for a mano-a-mano fight to see who’s the most powerful metahuman in Central City."

Geomancer was co-created by DC Chief Creative Officer and The Flash executive producer Geoff Johns while he was writing JLA. The character is an enemy of the Justice Society in the comics.

The villainous character is said to appear in the 13th and 14th episodes of the show's current second season. These might be the two episodes that producer Greg Berlanti recently teased while talking to TV Line:

“The Flash writers just finished penning the two craziest episodes that we’ve ever done — and probably two of my favorite episodes ever, in which there’s incredible, incredible stuff for a bunch of the characters, including Iris. It’ll be really exciting to watch.”

Sounds like there's some cool stuff coming up! The Flash returns Tuesday, January 19th, 2016 on The CW.

STAR WARS Gets a Hilariously Absurd Bad Lip Reading

One of my favorite things to watch on the internet are these Bad Lip Reading videos. They are just so weird and absurd that I can't help but laugh at them. We've posted a few of these videos over the years, but now they've finally released one for Star Wars, and it's pretty damn wacky.

Vader keeps texting Leia, while Ben continues his quest for the Pickaxe of Cortez. Jack Black, Maya Rudolph, and Bill Hader guest.

Tina Fey and Margot Robbie Cover Afghanistan in WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT Trailer

I was under the impression that the new war comedy Whisky Tango Foxtrot was going to be a star vehicle for Tina Fey and Martin Freeman, but if this first trailer is any indication, it looks like Margot Robbie actually has a bigger role than Freeman does. I didn't even know she was going to be in the film at all, so that's a pleasant surprise.

In an adaptation of journalist Kim Barker's The Taliban Shuffle, Fey plays a writer who upends her boring New York life in order to cover what the conflicts in Afghanistan and Pakistan in the early 2000s. There does appear to be a bit of a relationship story on display between Fey and Martin Freeman's characters, and I'm wondering if Paramount's marketing team is just trying to play up the Margot Robbie character here in an effort to entice the coveted young male demographic. In other words, I wouldn't be surprised if she's not in the movie as much as this trailer leads us to believe. Either way, though, it looks like it's going to be worth checking out. Fey is always great, and even Billy Bob Thornton looks like he's having some fun here. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (WTF, get it?) arrives in theaters on March 4th, 2016.

As expected, BB-8 rolls and beeps directly into audiences' hearts in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The original droid — voiced by these two awesome actors — is one of the film's many stunning practical effects, and in a new featurette, director J.J. Abrams explains why it was important that BB-8 was a real, physical character and not just something created in a computer.

As if you needed to be told, The Force Awakens officially opens in theaters tonight! I can't wait to hear what you all think about it, and if you want, you can leave your comments on my spoiler-free review right here. In the meantime, check this out:

The New GHOSTBUSTERS Get Some Slick Character Posters

Following yesterday's official photo, a batch of new character posters for Paul Feig's Ghostbusters have been released that show off each of the four main characters: Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. I love the color scheme of these — they really pop off the screen.

After Feig's most recent film, Spy, surprised me with how great it was, I have high hopes that he'll be able to capture the essence of the original movies with this sequel. I already know that I'd prefer whatever Feig does here than seeing the original cast trotted back out for another sequel...I think seeing those guys suited back up again might just be kind of sad at this point, and there's no way they'd be able to perfectly recreate the magic of the original after all of these years. I'm glad Feig is doing something new with the property, and I'm hopeful that it'll win fans over who are still on the fence about this whole idea.

Ghostbusters hits theaters on July 15th, 2016.

Macaulay Culkin Reprises His HOME ALONE Role in This Messed Up Short Film

About a decade after his child star days came to an end, Macaulay Culkin popped up in a few films (I saw him in Saved!) and television shows, but he's mostly been pretty quiet. He apparently played a version of himself on five episodes of The Jim Gaffigan Show earlier this year (which I've never seen). Still, most people probably remember the actor for his role in the Christmas classic Home Alone.

In this NSFW short film, Culkin reprises his role as Kevin McCallister and let's just say the events of the first film left a devastating impression on him. Good luck watching Home Alone again and not thinking about this every time.

Universal's BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN Remake Moves Forward With Writer David Koepp

$

Universal Pictures is moving forward with a remake of their classic monster movie The Bride of Frankenstein. The studio has hired David Koepp to write the script for the film.

Koepp is a talented screenwriter who has brought us films such as Mission: Impossible, Jurassic Park, Spider-Man, Panic Room, and more. So at least there's a chance that the script for the film will be decent.

I'm not really excited about this idea of creating a new series of new monster movie remakes that are being spearheaded by Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan. The fact they are looking to contemporize everything is just a stupid idea to me. The period setting and vibe is what makes these monsters so eerie, legendary, and timeless.

My fear is that these films will end up being cookie-cutter type films with no real imagination behind them — like most remakes of classic films!

A few weeks ago, we learned that the studio was looking at bringing Angelina Jolie to star in and possibly direct the film, which would be pretty solid casting if they are able to actually get her on board. Her involvement with the film all depends on how the script turns out.

They've got some solid talent connected to this project, I just wish they were approaching the material in a different way.

Two of Marvel's mouthiest characters are teaming up because, well, we really don't know why. Spider-Man/Deadpool also brings together the star creative team of Joe Kelly and Ed McGuiness, so it's a good bet that this should be a fun ride. Deadpool is one of Spidey's biggest fans, while Spider-Man, well, let's just say he would rather be someplace else. While I'm excited to see these two together, I am curious to see how the creative team manages their personalities over the course of an ongoing book, rather than just a miniseries. You can catch a preview of the book below, as well as some of the launch variant covers.

Steven Spielberg Says He'll Never Remake One of His Movies, But Hints at Sequels and Spin-Offs

$

Steven Spielberg's next two films, The BFG and Ready Player One, are already locked in, but beyond that, it's unclear what the world's most famous living director is going to direct next. Thanks to a new interview, we know he won't tackle a remake of one of his own movies, but that doesn't mean he isn't going to dip into the Amblin library to see about spin-offs, prequels, or sequels.

Yesterday, the director announced the formation of the Universal-based Amblin Partners, a new company that combines Spielberg's DreamWorks with Reliance, eOne Entertainment, and Participant Media. Deadline spoke with him about this new venture, and at the end of the interview, they asked if he would "be mining his Amblin titles for possible redos at Universal," raising the point that a remake of Jaws seems to be a rumor that surfaces every now and then. Here's Spielberg's response:

“I would never remake one of my own movies — starting with Jaws — but there are Amblin titles in the library that could inspire new stories that were made popular by the films. There isn’t a single title that I’ve earmarked, but yes, I would like to.”

To me, that sounds like he'll never remake Jaws or any of his other films, but he wouldn't be opposed to directing a movie that either continues one of those stories or features characters that appeared in them. Spielberg's a savvy guy, and I think he knows about our disdain for remakes, so it sounds like he's going to avoid a direct remake but is leaving the door open for other possibilities. If anyone has done enough to earn the benefit of the doubt from audiences, it's Steven Spielberg, so I'll just trust that he knows what he's doing and hope that he doesn't decide to change his mind about remaking one of his own movies. He's much too good for that.
