Elizabeth Banks Returning To Direct PITCH PERFECT 3

Pitch Perfect 3 became inevitable after the success of the second movie, and we already know that stars Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, and Brittany Snow are returning to reprise their roles for writer Kay Cannon. One of the big questions remaining was who would direct the third film, and now Variety has confirmed that franchise star and Pitch Perfect 2 director Elizabeth Banks will return to those duties for this next sequel.

I thought Banks did a good job with the second film (I liked it better than the original), so it'll be nice to see her return to a franchise she obviously has a lot of affection for. I'm also glad the success of the second movie (it made over $285 million worldwide on a $29 million budget) has opened up other options for the filmmaker: she's in talks to direct both Charlie's Angels and an adaptation of a young adult novel called Red Queen.

Pitch Perfect 3 has a release date scheduled for August 4th, 2017, so they have plenty of time to get the script written and figure out whether any other original cast members (or PP2 alum Hailee Steinfeld) will return before filming begins.

Honest Trailer For Pixar's INSIDE OUT

We're coming up on the end of the year, that time when studios decide to drop all of their Oscar-caliber movies in theaters so quickly that we have to scramble to keep up with seeing everything we need to before the calendar flips to 2016. As of right now, I think Inside Out is one of the best movies I've seen this year, but by the time January rolls around, it could easily be pushed down into my Top 20 instead of my Top 10.

If you've seen enough of ScreenJunkies' Honest Trailers, you know what you're getting yourselves into by this point. I almost never agree with their takes on movies (or even think they're funny), but I know a lot of people like watching these, so I hope you get some enjoyment out of it.

The DEADPOOL Movie Will Explore Colossus in More Depth

It was exciting for X-Men fans to learn that Colossus would be in Ryan Reynolds' long awaited Deadpool movie. Until now, we had no idea how big of a role he would have in the story. Thanks to Andre Tricoteux, who is the motion capture actor who plays the character, we've learned that this movie will dive deeper into the character than any other X-Men film that has been made before.

During an interview with Tech Times, Tricoteux revealed:

“Yeah, I think you're going to get to see more of who Colossus is. Like I said, we kept him really traditional to the comic book. So yes, I think people will get a better sense of who he is. But I think there's still a lot more to be told about him. Colossus has been around in the comics since the '70s, so I mean, I think you could do your own movie on him. Yeah, you're going to get to see a little bit more of who he is and kind of his outlook on the world.”

The look of Colossus in the movie is fantastic. The filmmakers really nailed down the character design, and it's great that they are going to focus on his character a little more than what we've already seen. It's going to be fun to see how he will be utilized in the story. He comes off as being bigger and more brutish in this film, which is more like the comic book version of the character.

Who would have thought that a Deadpool movie might give us our best big screen interpretation of Colossus yet? I'm excited to see how this all turns out. Deadpool hits theaters on February 12th, 2016.

Wonderfully Animated Rare 1988 Interview with Bill Murray

Blank on Blank has released a new episode of their fantastic animated series that takes interviews with pop culture icons and animates them. This features a rare interview from 1988 with Bill Murray in which he openly discusses his true motivations. In one part during the interview, he talks about why he likes being a jerk sometimes:

“I act like a jerk sometimes, and that’s sort of what the product is. You get these people who act like, ‘what the hell.’ When you act obnoxious towards people, like on a movie set, they say ‘we’re ready for you’ and I say ‘oh, go to hell, my feet hurt and my head aches.’ You want to have a margarita for lunch, and people like these little ADs and production assistants are like, ‘well, he’s drinking again.’ Drinking again? Go to hell. All I ever do is make some movies that made a lot of money now leave me alone, I want to have some fun. On Ghostbusters they had somebody following us. Following us. You walk down the street, you turn around and somebody would duck into a doorway. Just to control us and make sure we didn’t do anything too weird. It’s like, “‘what the hell.’ I didn’t get into this position by being like a stiff sitting on the set in a folding chair. I did it by walking around on the streets and stirring things up.”

The interview was conducted by journalist T.J. English, and you can listen to the full thing below.

Here’s What The Original GHOSTBUSTERS Would Be Like as a Sitcom

Ever wonder what the classic film Ghostbusters would have been like as a live-action TV series sitcom? Yeah, me neither. But thanks to IFC, we now have an idea of what that might be like. They’ve cut together a sitcom-style opening title sequence for a show that follows “Five kooky friends and their wacky exploits battling ghosts, learning to love, and living in the city!”

Thankfully a series like this never happened with Bill Murray, Sigourney Weaver, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Rick Moranis, and Ernie Hudson. Instead, we’re getting a reboot that a lot of fans don’t seem to be excited for.

Gundam-Inspired Minivan

I bought a minivan once. It was the worst decision I ever made! I will never own another minivan ever again. But, I might just consider it if it looked like this Gundam-themed Nissan Elgrand. It was created by Char Aznable and inspired by the MS-06S Zaku Gundam.

This thing appeared last month at an auto show in Osaka, Japan. I love the bazooka mounted on the back of it and the machine gun on the roof.

My hatred for minivans run deep, though, and I still don’t think I would buy one of these even though it reeks of awesomeness. You can check out a video featuring the minivan below.

The Yellow Ranger Has Been Cast in POWER RANGERS Movie

Becky Gomez is the latest actress to be cast in the upcoming Power Rangers film, and she will kick ass as the Yellow Ranger. This completes the core team of the five rangers. She joins Dacre Montogomery (Betrand The Terrible) as the Red Ranger, Naomi Scott (The Martian) as the Pink Ranger, Ludi Lin (Marco Polo) as the Black Ranger, and RJ Cyler (Me And Earl And The Dying Girl) as the Blue Ranger. I've included previously released descriptions of each of these characters below.

I really don't know much about Becky Gomez, but she's a singer/songwriter that also goes by the name Becky G. The biggest thing that she's done so far is a two-episode guest arc on Fox's Empire

For more news on the Power Ranger reboot, click here. The movie is being directed by Dean Israelite (Almanac) from a script by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz. The story reimagines the origins of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, a group of high school kids given extraterrestrial powers who unite to save the world. It his theaters on January 13th, 2017.

Jason – 17 years old, the makings of someone or something great if he would just get out of his own way. Jason was a legend of this town—a freshman quarterback with the skills to take him all the way. People knew his name. Children wore his jersey. Until, one night Jason wrapped his car around a pole and busted out his knee. Everything Jason was going to become ended in an instant. And with it, he lost himself. When we meet him at the start of the film, he’s a kid in need of redemption. By the end, he’ll be leading this disparate group of teens to shed their individual baggage and find who they truly are.
Kimberly – 17 years old, unconventionally cool all in a way the popular girls wish they were. In fact, she was one of those girls, but isn’t anymore. Not since she’s returned to school after an absence of 6 months. Rumors are flying as to why; rumors she seems not to care about, because she’s come back with this new rebel-without-a-cause, edgy attitude. But the truth is, it’s all masking a deep secret that makes her feel profoundly vulnerable.
Trini – 17 years old, mysterious and extremely bright. Her parents constantly move for work, making Trini the perpetual new girl to any school. A loner who owns it, Trini is self-sufficient, contemplative, but always observant. All she wants is to find her gang of friends, but she’ll never admit it – least of all to herself.
Billy – 17 years old, slight and awkward. Billy is challenged in his abilities to communicate and interact socially. Whip-smart and sweet, but always odd. Sometimes in a fun way, sometimes not, Billy is a kid with no filter. Showing his emotions, understanding sarcasm, and dealing with his OCD is a constant challenge. Has never really had any friends and instantly gravitates towards Jason.
Zack – 17 years old, always the life of the party. Filled with bravado and swagger, Zack’s tough and cool on the exterior. A charming guy who’s never had trouble with the one-liner, nor lacked confidence around women. A great athlete that’s never wanted to play on any team but his own. Zack advertises everything about himself, except the truth, which is that he lives in a trailer park with his single mom, and because of it, feels deeply inferior to all his peers.

Awesome Fan-Made DRAGON BALL Z Stop-Motion Action Short

Here’s an incredibly entertaining stop-motion animated short fan film featuring Dragon Ball Z characters that was created by YouTuber Counter656. The action-packed short features an energized brawl between Broly, some robots, and of course, Goku.

He made the short a preview for some Dragon Ball Z action figure by Bandai Tamashii Nations SH Figuarts. The creator of the video said:

This is a Short stop motion video for a toys preview, the main character is SHF Broly, its a really amazing toy and very detail in every single part of the figure, nice articulation and many changeable parts for face and hands, the only problem is very heavy and hard to do animation.

It may have been hard for him to do, but the video sure did turn out great. Enjoy!

It's been awhile since we've seen anything from Duncan Jones' upcoming movie Warcraft. The director previously stated that the first trailer for the film would be released in November. Well, November is here, so sometime this month fans will be treated with the first official trailer for the movie!

While we wait for that trailer to be released, we have three new photos to get you pumped up. These photos feature Durotan, lead protagonist of the Orcs, played by Toby Kebbel (Fantastic Four); Orgrim Doomhammer, played by Robert Kazinsky (Pacific Rim); and Travis Fimmel as Sir Anduin Lothar.

I got to see a good chunk of footage from this movie at Comic-Con this past summer, and it was absolutely stunning! You can read my first initial reaction to that footage here along with a little description of what was shown. I honestly believe that this movie will take fantasy films to a whole new level, just like Lord of the Rings did. Warcraft reeks of epicness. I can't wait to see the fan reaction when the trailer is released.

Warcraft hits theaters on June 10th, 2016! You can catch up on all of the previous Warcraft movie news here.

Spectacular STAR WARS Duracell Commercial - Battle For Christmas Morning

Now there are even awesome Star Wars-inspired commercials that are giving me the warm fuzzies! Duracell released a new Star Wars themed commercial called, “Battle For Christmas Morning,” and it reminds me of all those times when I was a kid imagining that I was a part of the Star Wars universe. The commercial escalates into a spectacular battle.

"Battle for Christmas Morning shows what’s possible when two young Jedi power up their lightsabers with Duracell and enter the Star Wars world of imaginative play to take on Stormtroopers, Tie Fighters, and the rest of the Dark Side."

Damn you, Duracell, for getting me all emotional with a battery ad!

Another Classic STAR WARS Character Rumored to Appear in THE FORCE AWAKENS

We already know several of the core characters from the original Star Wars trilogy will be returning for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Those characters include Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia, R2-D2, C-3PO, and of course, Luke Skywalker. Now a new rumor suggests another character will make a return from the original trilogy.

Possible SPOILERS ahead:

The following rumor could be a big spoiler if true. It was first reported by Star Wars News Net. A source claims to know somebody involved with dubbing the film for the international release, and this is what they revealed:

“I know someone who works in the ****** media (dubbing) who assured me that there was indeed a scene with Yoda in The Force Awakens.”

This wouldn’t be the first time I’ve heard this rumor. I heard the same thing from an acquaintance of mine. I didn’t want to post it because I wasn’t feeling a 100% confident in it. Now that I’m hearing it from another source, though, I thought I'd put the rumor up and see what fan reactions would be.

If Yoda does return, obviously he would come in the form of a force ghost, and I imagine there would be a scene between Yoda and Luke Skywalker. That’s just my speculation, but it would make sense if that actually turned out to be the case.

Frank Oz reprised his role as the voice of Yoda for a season one episode of Star Wars Rebels, and if the character is included the character in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, I’m sure he would have come back to reprise the role.

If Yoda is in the film, do you have any ideas on how he might be utilized?

This past weekend Ryan Reynolds slipped back into his Deadpool costume and went trick-or-treating with a bunch of kids dressed up as the X-Men. Reynolds posted the photo on Twitter with the following funny caption:

“Dear Fox, stop changing the timelines. It's confusing the audience. #xmenassemble #happyhalloween”

Reynolds previously admitted to having taken a Deadpool costume from the production, saying:

"I've waited 10 years to do this movie, so I'm leaving with a f**king suit."

It’s awesome to see that he’s putting the suit to good use!

Full Trailer for AMC’s PREACHER Series

Last night during The Walking Dead, AMC premiered the first full trailer for their TV adaptation of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s 1990s comic book series Preacher. It’s been a long time since I’ve read the comic, but the series looks really good regardless of the fact that it will deviate from the source material.

The series tells the story of Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), “a conflicted Preacher in a small Texas town who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that allows him to develop a highly unconventional power. Jesse, his ex-girlfriend, Tulip (Ruth Negga), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) embark on a journey to, literally, find God.”

The series was developed for television by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (This Is the End, Superbad, Neighbors) and showrunner Sam Catlin (Breaking Bad). It seems like they may have pulled off a great series. I loved what I saw in this trailer, but we’ll find out soon enough if they really succeeded with their adaptation.

The series is set to premiere sometime in mid-2016.

Sweded Trailer for STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS

Since the last trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released, we've seen a ton of different, fun versions of it. I imagine those fan trailers will keep rolling in, and now we have a sweded version of the second trailer that was created by Cinefix. To recreate the trailer shot-for-shot, they used several homemade items.

It takes a long time to make these videos, and they've been developing this one since that second trailer was released. I imagine that they will eventually make a sweded trailer for the final Force Awakens trailer that was released a couple of the weeks ago.

Under the homemade trailer, you'll find a behind-the-scenes video showing us how they made it.

Steven Spielberg Can't Wait to Work With Harrison Ford Again on INDIANA JONES 5

We all know that Indiana Jones 5 is gong to happen one day. Disney plans on making it, Harrison Ford will be back to star in it, and director Steven Spielberg can't wait to work with him again in the franchise.

Like many of you, I didn't care for 2008's The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and I'd like to think that it never happened. I believe there's still room for another classic Indiana Jones adventure, and I hope this next one will be it.

While at the 2015 British Academy Britannia Awards, Spielberg made comments that hint that a fifth film is on the horizon. In a pre-taped tribute to Ford, who received the Albert R Broccoli Britannia award, the director said:

"I can’t wait to work with you again on Indiana Jones 5. This is NO announcement, just my fervent hope."

Right now Lucasfilm seems completely focused on the Star Wars franchise, but sometime in the near future Kathleen Kennedy, Spielberg, Ford, and Frank Marshall will sit down to discuss the best ways of bringing Indiana Jones back to the fans.

Marvel Announces HAUNTED MANSION Comic Book

Over the weekend, Marvel announced that they will be a releasing a new Disney Kingdoms comic book that focuses on The Haunted Mansion. Guillermo del Toro has slowly been developing a feature film adaptation of the classic Disneyland attraction for years. I know that film project isn't dead yet. For some reason, though, they are just taking their sweet time with it.

The Haunted Mansion comic will be a horror-comedy that, obviously, focuses on the haunted mansion and all of the ghosts who inhabit its walls. Three of these ghosts are teased, and those are, of course, the hitchhiking ghosts.

There's no official information on the plot or when the comic will be released, but it's expected to launch sometime early next year. As a huge fan of The Haunted Mansion I'm excited to see what they plan on doing with this comic.

SPECTRE Sets Record for Largest UK Opening of All Time

In the midst of its swirling controversy this past couple of weeks, the latest James Bond film Spectre is already making a splash in the UK. The Guardian reports that the film's first week has already set the box office record in the UK with 40 million Euros. It beats the record previously set by Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in 2004.

It's a great start, but it's going to take a lot more to cover the 200 million dollar budget the film spent. Hype has been high for the film and early reviews are overwhelmingly good! This is going to be an opening weekend watch for me! How about you?

Legendary Pictures has released a brand new poster for Warcraft following the three new images that we posted earlier today. The studio has also revealed that the first trailer for the highly anticipated film will debut this coming Friday in conjunction with Blizzard’s annual BlizzCon!

The movie was directed by Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code), and it's fully completed. It's just waiting to be released in theaters at this point. I'm truly excited for this movie, especially after seeing the footage that was screened for fans at Comic-Con this past summer. This movie looks like it will be epic in every sense of the word.

Fighting for The Alliance, Warcraft features Dominic Cooper as King Llane Wrynn, Travis Fimmel as Anduin Lothar, Ben Foster as Medivh, Ben Schnetzer as Khadgar, and Ruth Negga as Lady Taria, and on the side of The Horde is Clancy Brown as Blackhand, Toby Kebbel as Durotan, Robert Kazinsky as Ogrim, and Daniel Wu as Gul’Dan, with Paula Patton’s Garona caught in the middle.

Warcraft is set to be released in theaters on June 10th, 2016.
