Awesome BOURNE LEGACY Alternative Poster Art

Check out this great collection of alternative poster art created by several different artists that include Matt Needle, Chris Thornley, Dan Keane, Brandon Schaefer, Ben Whitesell, Matthew Ferguson, Midnight Marauder, Maxime Pecourt, and Fernando Reza. Most of these are better than the official posters released by the studios.

The movie hits theaters on August 10th, and I'm looking forward to checking it out! So far most of the reviews I've seen for it have been fairly positive. Will you be checking out the film this weekend?

The narrative architect behind the Bourne film series, Tony Gilroy, takes the helm in the next chapter of the hugely popular espionage franchise that has earned almost $1 billion at the global box office: The Bourne Legacy. The writer/director expands the Bourne universe created by RobertLudlum with an original story that introduces us to a new hero (Jeremy Renner) whose life-or-deathstakes have been triggered by the events of the first three films. For The Bourne Legacy, Renner joins fellow series newcomers Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac, while franchise veterans Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Scott Glenn reprise their roles.

Watch the First 10-Minutes of the Horror Film THE AWAKENING

The world could always use a good ghost story, and The Awakening looks like a solid horror thriller. I love the horror movie genre, and I think this one is going to be worth checking out! The story is set in the 1920s and follows a ghost hunter asked to investigate a haunted boarding school, and thanks to the wonders of the internet you can now watch the first 10-minutes of the film right now!

Here's the synopsis for the film:

Set in London in 1921, Florence Cathcart (Rebecca Hall), author of the popular book "Seeing Through Ghosts," has devoted her career to exposing claims of the supernatural as nothing but hoaxes. Haunted by the recent death of her fiancé, she is approached by Robert Mallory (Dominic West) to investigate the recent death of a student at the all-boys boarding school where he teaches. When students at the school report sightings of the young boy's ghost, she decides to take on the case. Initially, the mystery surrounding the ghost appears nothing more than a schoolboy prank, but as Florence continues to investigate events at the school, she begins to believe that her reliance on science may not be enough to explain the strange phenomenon going on around her.

The horror movie stars Rebecca Hall, Dominic West, and Imelda Staunton. It's set to haunt theaters on August 17th. Are you excited about this one?

SUSPERIA Muisc Used in Synchronized Swimming Event

Not sure if you saw this already or not, but the Russian synchronized Olympic swimming team performed one their qualifying routines to Goblin's classic musical theme for Dario Argento's Susperia. Synchronized Swimming is so strange to me! It just doesn't look natural. There's something about it that kind of freaks me out, and it's not the music. It's still cool to see Olympic athletes geek out a little bit.

First Look at Russell Crowe in Darren Aronofsky's NOAH

$

This is our first look at Russell Crowe as Noah in director Darren Aronofsky's biblical passion project Noah. He pretty much looks like what I imagined Aronofsky would have wanted him to look like. Aronofsky is a fantastically talented director, and I can't wait to see his vision of this story, especially since he's dreamt about doing this since he was 13-years old.

The movie tells the crazy epic biblical tale of a prophet who is told by God to build a giant boat that can carry two of every animal from the earth to save them from a giant flood that will destroy every living thing on Earth, so that they could start a new beginning. The reason for the flood? The world just got way to evil.

The movie co-stars Jennifer ConnellyAnthony Hopkins, Ray Winstone, Douglas Booth, Emma Watson and Logan Lerman

Aronofsky has been very active using his Twitter account to post updates and photos from the production of the film. The movie is set to be released on March 28th, 2014.

Saoirse Ronan Set to Play MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS

$

Hanna star Saoirse Ronan is set to play the title role in the period drama, Mary Queen Of Scots. The movie was written by Michael Hirst (Elizabeth, Elizabeth: The Golden Age), and is obviously based on Mary, who was crowned the queen of Scotland before she was a year old. As a history buff, I'll be looking forward to this.

Ronan is a fantastically talented young actress who's going to be great in this role. She broke out with her Oscar-nominated performance in Atonement, starred in Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones, she just got finished shooting Andrew Niccol's The Host, which is based on the novel by Stephenie Meyer. She also wrapped on Neil Jordan’s Byzantium, and she’s currently shooting the Kevin Macdonald-directed film How I Live Now.

The movie is being developed by Working Title, which wrapped the big screen adaptation of the musical Les Miserables with Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway.

Here's a little history lesson for those of you who weren't paying attention in class...

Mary was queen of Scotland from December 14th 1542 to July 24th 1567 and queen consort of France from July 10th 1559 to December 5th 1560.

Mary was the only surviving legitimate child of King James V of Scotland. She was 6 days old when her father died and she was crowned nine months later. In 1558, she married Francis, Dauphin of France. He ascended the French throne as King Francis II in 1559, and Mary became queen consort of France until she was widowed on 5 December 1560. Mary then returned to Scotland, arriving in Leith on 19 August 1561. Four years later, she married her first cousin, Henry Stuart, Lord Darnley, but their union was unhappy. In February 1567, his residence was destroyed by an explosion, and Darnley was found murdered in the garden.

James Hepburn, 4th Earl of Bothwell, was generally believed to have orchestrated Darnley's death, but he was acquitted of the charge in April 1567, and the following month he married Mary. Following an uprising against the couple, Mary was imprisoned in Loch Leven Castle. On 24 July 1567, she was forced to abdicate in favour of her one-year-old son, James. After an unsuccessful attempt to regain the throne, she fled southwards seeking the protection of her first cousin once removed, Queen Elizabeth I of England. Mary had previously claimed Elizabeth's throne as her own and was considered the legitimate sovereign of England by many English Catholics, including participants in a rebellion known as the Rising of the North. Perceiving her as a threat, Elizabeth had her confined in a number of castles and manor houses in the interior of England. After 18 years and 9 months in custody, Mary was tried and executed for her involvement in plots to assassinate Elizabeth.

The film tells the story of a misunderstood boy named Norman (Kodi Smit-McPhee) who can speak with the dead. Of course he ends up having to fight pure evil to save his town. This movie looks so good, and I've been hearing great things about it! I can't wait to see it!

The poster is set to go on sale sometime next week, so make sure to check out Mondotees.com frequently to find out when you can buy it, and how much it will cost.

The movie hits theaters on August 17th, 2012, and also features the voices of Casey Affleck, Tempestt Bledsoe, Jeff Garlin, John Goodman, Bernard Hill, Anna Kendrick, Leslie Mann, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Tucker Albrizzi, Alex Borstein, Jodelle Ferland, and Elaine Stritch.

Here's the full synopsis:

Only misunderstood local boy Norman (voiced by Kodi Smit-McPhee), who is able to speak with the dead. In addition to the zombies, he'll have to take on ghosts, witches and, worst, of all, grown-ups, to save his town from a centuries-old curse. But this young ghoul whisperer may find his paranormal activities pushed to their otherworldly limits.

BILL AND TED 3 Moving Forward with GALAXY QUEST Director!

For those of you who didn't think we'd ever see that third Bill and Ted movie... think again. It just landed a director! Both Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are set to return for a third film in the franchise, which is seriously one of the most awesome things ever! To make things even better original Bill and Ted creators and writers of this third film Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson have hired Dean Parisot to direct it. Who's that you ask? He directed a great little sci-fi comedy called Galaxy Quest!

I'm very happy that this is not going to be a remake or a reboot, because that could have easily happened. Instead this will be a direct sequel that shows us where Mssrs. Ted Theodore Logan and Bill S. Preston, Esq. are in their lives today. As a fan of the first two films, I'm really looking forward to this! I'm a little shocked that it's actually happening. Honestly, who would have thought we would get a third Bill and Ted movie with the original actors back to reprise their roles? So cool.

We don't know much about the plot, but Reaves did have this to say in a previous interview...

When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn't happened. So they've now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there's an element of time and they have to go back.

We also heard that the Grim Reaper will most likely be back as well. Are you excited about the return of Bill and Ted!? What do you think of the director they got to bring it to life? Galaxy Quest is such a great film, so I couldn't be happier with who they got. Parisot will be directing the sequel to RED first.

THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN Remake Gains a Screenwriter

MGM has hired Nic Pizzolatto to draft their remake of John Sturges' classic 1960's western, The Magnificent Seven. Pizzolatto is a novelist that took on screenwriting, he wrote a couple of episodes for AMC's The Killing. Tom Cruise is already set to star in the movie, and Matt Damon, Kevin Costner, and Morgan Freeman might join him.

The story follows a group of American gunmen who are hired to protect a small Mexican village from a group of savage bandits, led by Calvera. Cruise will take on the role of Chris Larabee Adams, who was played by Yul BrynnerDamon would take on the role of Vin Tanner previously played by Steve McQueen, Costner would possibly be playing Britt played by James Coburn, and Freeman would be taking on the role of the villain Calvera.

The original Magnificent Seven is one of my favorite westerns. I kind of hate the fact that it's being remade, but it was bound to happen sooner or later. I just hope that whoever ends up directing can at least make it into a decent remake. It's hard for me to see Cruise in a western, but we'll all soon see how that works out.

Heather Graham will be Back for THE HANGOVER 3

Heather Graham is set to reprise her stripper character Jade in director Todd Phillips' The Hangover 3. The third film takes the Wolfpack back to Las Vegas as well as Mexico, so it makes sense that we'll see some characters from the first film in this sequel. It was also recently reported that Mike Epps is also returning to reprise his role as "other Doug". Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha and Ken Jeong will all be back to get sucked into some crazy jacked-up adventure.

This will be the last film in the franchise, and the director said, "We’re going to surprise a lot of people with the final chapter we have planned. It will be a fitting conclusion to our three-part opera of mayhem, despair and bad decisions."

The comedy hits theatres on May 24th, 2013. Are you looking forward to the Wolfpack's next adventure? What would you say your favorite Heather Graham movie is?

Magnolia Pictures has released the first trailer for their upcoming thriller called Deadfall, which stars Olivia Wilde and Eric Bana. In the film they play a brother and sister who are on the run from a casino heist. The movie was directed by Stefan Ruzowitzky (The Counterfeiters), and this latest project looks pretty good. It's definitely got a great cast, which also includes Charlie Hunnam and Sissy Spacek.

Here's the short synopsis:

Siblings Addison and Liza are on the run from a casino heist gone wrong. When a car accident leaves their wheel man and a state trooper dead, they split up and make a run for the Canadian border in the worst of circumstances a near whiteout blizzard. While Addison heads cross-country, creating mayhem in his wake, Liza is picked up by ex-boxer Jay (Charlie Hunnam), en-route for a Thanksgiving homecoming with his parents, June (Sissy Spacek) and retired sheriff Chet (Kris Kristofferson). It’s there the siblings are reunited in a terse and thrilling showdown that pushes the bonds of family to the limit.

ENDER'S GAME to be Released in IMAX

Lionsgate has confirmed that the Gavin Hood directed adaptation of Orsen Scott Card's classic sci-fi story Ender's Game will be getting an IMAX release. I wouldn't expect anything less, at least parts of the movie should have been shot in IMAX.

The highly anticipated movie will be released on November 1st, 2013, making it the second IMAX release from the studio that month. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is also being released in November of that year on the 22nd, only it will include scenes actually shot with IMAX cameras.

The studio is very excited about this franchise, there's 14 books in the series, which means if this first movie does well, they have the potential to make a lot of movies. I'm very excited about this movie and I hope it turns out to be the incredible film adaptation we've all been waiting for.

Asa Butterfield, the star of director Martin Scorsese's widely praised 3D film Hugo will be playing the lead role of Ender Wiggin. Harrison Ford (Cowboys & Aliens) will be Colonel Hyrum Graff, the adult lead in the film and commander of training for the International Fleet military academy in located in space. Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) will play Petra Arkanian, one of Ender's Battle School trainers and eventual confidant. Sir Ben Kingsley, who recently starred with Butterfield in Hugo will play a character who is crucial to Ender's battle training, former Fleet Commander Mazer Rackham. Canadian actor Brendan Meyer will play one of Ender's early antagonists Stilson who he encounters before being shipped off to Battle School. Academy Award nominee Abigail Breslin will play Valentine Wiggin, sister to Butterfield's Ender. Aramis Knight (Rendition) will play Ender's youngest recruit Bean, Moises Arias will play Salamander Army Commander Bonzo Madrid, Jimmy "Jax" Pinchak (Let Me In) will be Peter Wiggin, Suraj Parthasarathy will be Alai, Conor Carroll will be Ender's first Battle School nemesis Bernard, Khylin Rhambo will play Dink Meeker. Viola Davis (the Help) will play a yet to be named military psychologist who oversees the emotional welfare of young trainees. Nonso Anozie (The Grey) will play Sergeant Dap, Stevie Ray Dallimore (Joyful Noise) has been cast as Ender’s father John and Andrea Powell (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2) will play Ender’s mother Theresa.

Here's the synopsis for the book:

In order to develop a secure defense against a hostile alien race's next attack, government agencies breed child geniuses and train them as soldiers. A brilliant young boy, Andrew "Ender" Wiggin lives with his kind but distant parents, his sadistic brother Peter, and the person he loves more than anyone else, his sister Valentine. Peter and Valentine were candidates for the soldier-training program but didn't make the cut--young Ender is the Wiggin drafted to the orbiting Battle School for rigorous military training.

Ender's skills make him a leader in school and respected in the Battle Room, where children play at mock battles in zero gravity. Yet growing up in an artificial community of young soldiers Ender suffers greatly from isolation, rivalry from his peers, pressure from the adult teachers, and an unsettling fear of the alien invaders. His psychological battles include loneliness, fear that he is becoming like the cruel brother he remembers, and fanning the flames of devotion to his beloved sister.

Is Ender the general Earth needs? But Ender is not the only result of the genetic experiments. The war with the Buggers has been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for the perfect general has been underway for almost as long. Ender's two older siblings are every bit as unusual as he is, but in very different ways. Between the three of them lie the abilities to remake a world. If, that is, the world survives.

"We inherited our freedom, now it's up to us to fight for it."

Over the last week we've been teased with photos, a poster and a teaser for MGM's remake of the 1980's film Red Dawn. Today the studio has released the full trailer for the film, and it looks like it turned out better than I initially thought. It's still one of those "whatever" movies for me, and I'm not going to rush out to see it. But there's an audience out there that I'm sure are excited about it... maybe. It's got plenty of action, explosions, and Chris Hemsworth being a badass.

The film was directed by Dan Bradley, and also stars Josh HutchersonAdrianne PalickiJosh PeckIsabel LucasConnor Cruise, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan

Here's the Synopsis:

A city in Washington state awakens to the surreal sight of foreign paratroopers dropping from the sky - shockingly, the U.S. has been invaded and their hometown is the initial target. Quickly and without warning, the citizens find themselves prisoners and their town under enemy occupation. Determined to fight back, a group of young patriots seek refuge in the surrounding woods, training and reorganizing themselves into a guerilla group of fighters. Taking inspiration from their high school mascot, they call themselves the Wolverines, banding together to protect one another, liberate their town from its captors, and take back their freedom.

After a couple of years of sitting on the shelf the movie will finally be released on November 21st of this year. Watch the trailer and let us know if you'll be checking it out. Do you think it looks like a solid remake? It doesn't look as cheesy as the original.

I was going to begin this post by saying I wasn't one of those guys who knows all the words to this song by heart, but a quick test proved I was lying to myself. One of the most ridiculous songs of the 90s has been given the compilation video treatment, and it's pretty good. In fact, the scene from Full Metal Jacket was actually the inspiration for the line in the song so there's something to talk about around the water cooler!

Universal Drops Kristen Stewart from SNOW WHITE Sequels

$

Unsurprisingly Universal Pictures has dropped their plans for any Snow White sequels with Kristen Stewart. Instead they will focus on a spinoff film focusing on Chris Hemsworth and The Huntsman. Why? You all know why... right? In case you don't Stewart cheated on her boyfriend Robert Pattinson, with the director of Snow White and the Hunstsman, Rupert Sanders. There was a big scandal and now Universal doesn't want to work with Stewart anymore. It's not specified in the report, but I imagine Sanders wont be involved with the spinoff film either.

According to a studio spokeswoman "The studio is currently exploring options to continue the franchise." THR reports that screenwriter David Koepp, who was hired to write the sequel, is being settled out of his contract, because the spinoff movie wont be the one he was hired to write. The studio is looking for a new writer, and they hope to start filming in July when Hemsworth is finished shooting Thor: The Dark World.

The original plan was to make two more films featuring Stewarts Snow White, and then by movie number three we would see a standalone Hunstsman movie. Snow White and the Huntsman was great visually, and Charlize Theron was awesome. Unfortunately the story and script sucked. I wouldn't really care if we didn't see anymore of these characters back on the big screen again.

Do you think a Huntsman movie starring Hemsworth would be worth watching? He was pretty awful in the first movie, but maybe that was the directors fault. After all it was his first feature film.

Watch Crazy Cool DAREDEVIL Sizzle Reels from Joe Carnahan

Joe Carnahan's attempt to make a 1970's style Daredevil adaptation is dead. Fox is going to let the rights lapse so they will end up back in the hands of Marvel. Hopefully Marvel will hire Carnahan to make the movie for them, because after watching these two Sizzle Reels that shows the directors vision of of the film, I really want to see it get the movie treatment. Carnahan was planning on making a seriously badass Daredevil movie that I think fans would have loved.

The director tweeted out the two sizzle reels to shows us what we're all going to miss out on. These are what he presented to the studio, to show them what could have been. The videos contain footage from other movies and some comic art, but it's the tone, setting and style that sells it. Watch the video and let us know if you like what you see! Do you think Carnahan would have delivered a film worthy of the comic?
