Cara Delevingne Sheds Some Light On Enchantress In SUICIDE SQUAD

$

We've already heard a few spoilery rumors surrounding Cara Delevingne's Enchantress in Suicide Squad, but those rumors have not been confirmed. I do believe that there is some truth to them, though. In a recent interview with Empire, the actress offers some new details on the character that you might be interested in checking out.

The latest issue of Empire doesn't confirm or deny any of the rumors that have been reported, but when talking about June Moon, a.k.a. Enchantress, the actress says:

"June is an adventure seeker who's always wanted some excitement. And she gets what she wished for, but in a terrible way. At the start of the movie she discovers a cavern and finds...something...within."

We've seen that brief scene in the trailer, and that "something" she find is Enchantress. As many fans have already speculated, it looks like Enchantress posseses June. Delevingne goes on to talk about this sorcerer entity, saying:

"She's an ancient sorceress. A feral being. She's been trapped for so long and know she's finally let out."

She then talks about how she channeled the character when she was in full on Enchantress mode:

"I'd gather the accent, which is deeper and posher than June's. And I'd blast Nick Cave's 'Red Right Hand,' that song about the devil. Also a lot of Megadeth. Just evil stuff."

Enchantress is an intriguing character. I'm a big fan of the dark, sorcery characters in the DC universe like the characters that make up Justice League Dark. She could pave the way for those kinds of characters in the DCEU. I'm curious to see how the Enchantress is actually used in the story, but so far I like what they've done with her.

J.J. Abrams Says the Absence of Luke Skywalker in the Trailer Is "No Accident"

After the release of the full trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, everyone was asking about the missing Luke Skywalker. He was nowhere to be seen in the video. Or at least, nowhere to be facially recognized. Speculations have been running around ever since. Could he be the hooded figure next to R2-D2 in the trailer? Could he not be? And if not, where is he? Why so much mystery? WHY?! WE WANT MORE!

I'm personally 100% convinced that the mysterious hooded figure is Luke Skywalker. After all, we know that Mark Hamill is definitely in the cast! So he is going to show up sooner or later!

In an attempt to cast some light on all the confusion, the director of Star Wars has revealed some...vague details. It’s not exactly a detail, but it's better than nothing. Walking down the red carpet at the GLSEN Respect Awards, J.J. Abrams dropped some spectacular news. Or is it really news or rather the ultimate confession that all of us, the Star Wars fans, have been waiting for?

Answering the questions of interviewers, he pointed out “It’s no accident” that Luke Skywalker is not in the trailer. But watch the video bellow and see for yourself what else Abrams said.

Oh, the excitement…

I knew it!

Bone-Crunching Action Clip from AMC's Martial Arts Series INTO THE BADLANDS

AMC's upcoming series Into the Badlands looks like it's going to be pretty badass. We've got an action-packed clip for you to watch today that features a lengthy bone-crunching fight scene.

The series combines several different genres that include martial arts, sci-fi, fantasy, and western, and even has some steampunk flare. I'm already excited about this series, but this clip ups that excitement and shows us that they aren't going to hold back on the brutality.

Into the Badlands is a genre-bending martial arts series inspired by the classic Chinese tale Journey to the West. In a land controlled by feudal barons, Into the Badlands tells the story of a great warrior and a young boy who embark on a journey across a dangerous land to find enlightenment. After cities fall into ruins and survivors return to the fields, a new society forms where the strongest prosper and the weak serve.
A high-octane fantasy story filled with martial arts action and a “Tarantino” touch, this series is about an unlikely band of adventurers who embark on a quest through this futuristic world in search of a better life.

Into the Badlands premieres on November 15th.

We're another day closer to Halloween, and Alex Luthor has created and released a magnificent fan trailer for Marvel Zombies that he calls Marvel Zombies Epic Trailer (Rated R).

It's Zombie apocalypse time for Marvel! How will the Marvel heroes will handle the Zombies? Who will survive and who will turn? It's time for Marvel Zombies!

The comic focused on a bunch of Marvel heroes that are infected with the Z-Virus, but this trailer offers fans a different plot. It focuses on the Avengers team as they try to stop the zombie apocalypse. Ultimately, it doesn't look like they will succeed.

Netflix's BEASTS OF NO NATION Already Has 3 Million Views

Looks like Netflix's first foray into the world of film production is doing pretty well. According to Deadline, just four days removed from its Friday release Beasts Of No Nation already has 3 million views! This is good news for Netflix, who already received plenty of positive buzz with rumors already starting about Oscar nominations. For those that haven't seen it yet, check out this trailer...

Admittedly, I may be one of those clicks...but I haven't finished the film yet. No word as to whether others like me are counted among the numbers, but I'm sure I'm in the minority. I was digging it before Idris Elba even appeared!

GHOSTBUSTERS Deleted Scene - Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd Playing 2 Different Characters

$

Did you know that Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd had an idea for Ghostbusters in which they would play two completely different characters in addition to their roles as Peter Venkman and Ray Stantz?

Murray and Akyroyd would have played a couple of homeless guys in New York that would have been seen throughout the film. According to Yahoo, they would have been "two homeless guys who acted as a something of a Greek chorus (or, in Ramis’s words, 'Shakespearean fools or gravediggers')." They would have provided “absurd commentary” on what was happening.

Director Ivan Reitman eventually decided it wouldn't work because it would have confused audiences. The actors weren’t disguised enough. But Reitman did shoot one scene with the actors in the roles of these homeless men that you can enjoy below.

What's interesting about the scene is that it really has nothing to do with the rest of the film. It's like a standalone comedy sketch. It would have been so weird for something like this to be in the film. It's a good thing they cut it.

Fun Trailer For Adam Sandler's Western Comedy THE RIDICULOUS 6

Over the years, Adam Sandler seems to have continually disappointed fans. It's hard to think that Sandler even has any fans anymore with the crappy films he's been making. The best films he's made recently are the Hotel Transylvania animated movies.

The actor teamed up with Netflix last year to create a series of films with them. The first of these films is The Ridiculous 6, which is a western comedy, and today we have a trailer for you to watch. The movie surprisingly looks like it could be kind of funny.

The movie also stars Terry Crews, Luke Wilson, Taylor LautnerRob Schneider, David Spade, Norm MacDonald, Will Forte, Jorge Garcia, and Steve Buscemi, most of whom have worked on many of Sandler's previous films. Here's the brief synopsis:

When his long-lost outlaw father returns, Tommy "White Knife" Stockburn goes on an adventure-filled journey across the Old West with his five brothers.

The trailer will fill you in on some additional story details. The cast for the film also includes Danny Trejo, Nick Nolte, Steve Zahn, John Turturro, Jon Lovitz, Vanilla Ice as Mark Twain, and more. The Ridiculous 6 premieres on Netflix on December 11th.

Daredevil Fights Vampires With Blade in New Fan Film

We already know that Daredevil is going to team up with The Punisher in the second season of Marvel's Netflix series, but what would happen if The Man Without Fear joined forces with Blade to battle vampires in Hell's Kitchen? If we're to believe Wesley Snipes, something like that could feasibly happen (that character would be a much better fit on TV than on the big screen in the current iteration of the Marvel Cinematic Universe), but in the meantime, the team at New Zealand-based Tron City Films has created a fan film called Daredevil: Bad Blood to show us how it might go down.

The video was directed by Ben Corcoran, and stars Sasha Nixon as Daredevil and Jhonny Matiu as Blade. Even considering the obvious budgetary limitations, I think they really captured the tone of Daredevil here. Let us know what you think in the comments.

Dan Stevens Joins Anne Hathaway in Monster Movie COLOSSAL

A woman moves back to her hometown after losing her job and her boyfriend in New York, only to discover that she shares a psychic connection with a giant monster that's materialized over Seoul and is destroying the city. How's that for a plot synopsis! Nacho Vigolando's Colossal sounds like a hell of a movie, and now it's getting even better: Variety reports that Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey, The Guest) has been added to the cast, opposite lead actress Anne Hathaway.

Hathaway will play the lead, while Stevens will play "the ex-boyfriend who originally scorns her only to later fight to win her back." Jason Sudeikis, Tim Blake Nelson, and Austin Stowell (who I just interviewed for Bridge of Spies) are also on board to star. The movie is shooting right now in Vancouver, and with the guy behind Timecrimes writing and directing, I have a feeling this could be one of the coolest genre films of 2016. We'll be keeping a close eye on this one.

Here's My Favorite Luke Skywalker Theory, and He's NOT Kylo Ren

$
0
0

There has been a lot of fan speculation lately regarding Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. A lot of people surprisingly believe that Luke is actually the villain Kylo Ren. This is 100% false. Luke Skywalker's is NOT Kylo Ren. There's just way too much evidence that proves that he's not. But I do believe that he is connected to him.

Over the weekend, I had an in-depth discussion with a friend regarding Luke's role in the new film, and there's a theory we discussed that I'm pretty confident about. I haven't seen this theory anywhere else online, so I thought it wouldn't hurt to share it with you.

I believe that Luke Skywalker is the person who started the Knights of Ren, or an original branch of it. I think he started the Knights of Ren as a Jedi Knight offshoot for the purpose of doing good and as a way to help keep the Galaxy in balance. Maybe even as a way to try to help right the wrongs of his father. The significance of the "Ren" title has yet to be revealed.

Like the Jedi Knights, the Knights of Ren can be likened to a religion. A lot of time in religion, there are people who don't like what they are being taught. Maybe somewhere down the line someone learns a certain truth that was being withheld from him. Maybe that person embraces that truth in the wrong way and he breaks off to form another branch of that religion. I think that's kind of how Kylo Ren comes into play.

J.J. Abrams previously said that Kylo works "under Supreme Leader Snoke, who is a powerful figure on the Dark Side of the Force." Snoke is being played by Andy Serkis. I think maybe Snoke is the person that was connected with Luke at some point, and that they had a parting of ways. A lot can happen between two people in 30 years.

I think Kylo Ren went against the teachings of Luke after he finds out some kind of truth about Darth Vader that he wasn't told before, and like we learned in the trailer, Ren wants to finish what Vader started. He thinks what he's doing is heroic. Abrams previously said this about Ren:

"I think that what makes Ren so unique is that he isn’t as fully formed as when we meet a character such as Darth Vader. And I think that there are two sides to the Force. Both sides, arguably, would see themselves as the hero of their story, and I think that applies here.”

It's possible Ren has been fed some twisted truths about Vader from a person that has close ties to Skywalker. I personally don't think Skywalker will even come into play in the story until the end of the movie. I think his story arc will really take off in Episode VIII and that he and Kylo will eventually face off with each other.

So, that's what's going through my head. As a Star Wars fan, it's always fun speculating about stuff, and this is just my little contribution. If you have a theory of your own, please feel free to share it! I'd love to see what the rest of you are thinking!

New Set Photo From Michael Fassbender's ASSASSIN'S CREED Movie

After years of waiting, cameras are rolling right now on Assassin's Creed, the highly-anticipated film adaptation of the popular video game. Justin Kurzel is directing, and Michael Fassbender is starring as Callum Lynch, a new character who hasn't appeared in any of the games thus far. Fassbender's production company, DMC Film, took to Twitter a few days ago to share the first official set photo from the movie:

"Progress requires sacrifice" could double as a motto for the behind-the-scenes process of making this movie; it's taken a long time to get to this point, and Fassbender and Ubisoft want to make sure they have every element of the story thought out instead of just churning out a piece of content to hit a release date target.

Worth noting: the triangular marking on the back of the actor's neck looks like the logo for Abstergo Industries, the creators of the Animus (which is the machine that allows players to enter memories of their ancestors). It's been a while since I played an Assassin's Creed game, so I don't remember if that machine leaves that mark on the back of someone's neck when they enter it or not. Please let me know in the comments if you have any thoughts about this.

Callum Lynch discovers he is a descendant of the secret Assassins society through unlocked genetic memories that allow him to relive the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. After gaining incredible knowledge and skills he’s poised to take on the oppressive Knights Templar in the present day.

Marion Cotillard, Michael K. Williams, Ariane Labed, Brendan Gleeson, and Jeremy Irons co-star. Assassin's Creed hits theaters on December 21st, 2016.

New Photos of The Joker and Enchantress From SUICIDE SQUAD

Yesterday, we saw a full look at Jared Leto's Joker from the upcoming Suicide Squad on a special collector's cover of Empire Magazine. Today, the magazine has released its standard cover, which features a different look at the Clown Prince of Crime.

There's also a new cover devoted to Cara Delevingne's Enchantress, who looks like she really threw herself into this performance. She's completely unrecognizable as the girl who starred in Paper Towns.

It sounds like they both went to some pretty dark places to create these characters (read Delevingne's comments here and Leto's comments here), so we'll see if David Ayer was able to create something awesome when Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5th, 2016.

Pixar Fans Recreate Andy's Room From TOY STORY 3 in Real Life

Morgan and Mason McGrew have spent years working on a stop-motion shot-for-shot remake of Toy Story 3, and though they aren't finished yet, they've made some major progress by recreating Andy's room almost exactly as it appears in the animated movie. They're documenting their progress on a Tumblr called The Pixarist (via ScreenCrush), and it's pretty incredible to see how insanely detailed they get. (They're working on Molly's room, too.) Take a look at some photos below, and then check out a quick comparison of their stop-motion work alongside the original movie that they posted about a year ago. Once they're done, their live-action shot-for-shot remake of Toy Story 3 should work nicely as a double feature with this one of the original Toy Story.

Sam Rockwell is a Biblical Archaeologist in Trailer For Comedy DON VERDEAN

$

Don Verdean is a film that comes to us from Napoleon Dynamite director Jared Hess, and it looks like it will deliver some hilarious comedy. We have a trailer and clip for the film for you to watch today. The story centers on Sam Rockwell, who plays a Biblical archaeologist. When he sets out on his latest adventure, he finds himself caught in a feud between two rival congregations led by Danny McBride and Will Forte

The movie has a fun cast that also includes Jemaine Clement as Rockwell's Holy Land associate, Amy Ryan as his assistant Carol, and Leslie Bibb as McBride’s wife. The film screened at Sundance earlier this year, and you can read our review for it here. In that review, Eli says:

"Hess dials back the zaniness in Don Verdean without losing his signature touches and provides a better stage for Rockwell and Clement, who gave great comedic performances in their last outing with the director but didn’t actually share any screen time... Jared and his wife/writing partner Jerusha Hess still have a knack for creating memorable characters that are a joy to root for, even when those characters make horrible, horrible decisions."

Below you will find the full synopsis and trailer:

Don Verdean is a man of faith who has devoted his life to biblical archaeology, scouring the globe in search of artifacts that back up the teachings of Jesus Christ. Now, traveling from town to town, he and his devoted assistant, Carol, spread the gospel by peddling books and DVDs out of his shabby RV, while his Holy Land contacts, Boaz and Shem, do the digging from afar. When evangelical preacher Tony Lazarus offers to bankroll Don’s modest roadside operation, the escalating pressure to find increasingly significant relics leads Don and his team down a less-than-righteous path. With more than just the word of God on the line, Don finds himself in the midst of a spiteful feud between two opposing congregations, leaving him to question what is truly important in life.

Don Verdean is set to be released on November 11th.

The Flash Leads This Excellent Fan-Made CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS Trailer

About a month ago, I wrote about a fan-made Crisis on Infinite Earths poster featuring tons of live-action characters from the DC Universe, which I thought that was pretty freakin' cool. But io9 has just pointed me to something even cooler: a trailer that uses footage from The Flash to explain the basic plot of the comic while introducing multiple versions of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and more, going back to Christopher Reeve and Micheal Keaton. If you've been dying to see the classic 1985 comic adapted for the big screen, this should be enough to hold you over until Warner Bros. finally decides to go all-out and start crossing over their superhero television shows with their new DCEU movies.

SUPERGIRL Trailer Reveals What to Expect From The Rest of The First Season

Fans have been waiting for Supergirl to debut on CBS for over a year, and it finally hit the small screen last night (and ended up being the highest rated and most-watched of any new show this fall). Our reviewer was not fond of the first episode when it played at Comic-Con earlier this summer, but hopefully things will only improve from here. In fact, CBS has released a brand new trailer for the show that reveals what we can expect from the rest of its first season: some big set pieces, crazy villains, some romance, and a whole lot of drama. The show returns this coming Monday at its normal time of 8pm EST/7pm CT. Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you thought of the premiere and whether you think this show is going to be worth sticking with in the comments:

Man Kills Friend While Binge-Watching THE WALKING DEAD, Claims Friend Was Turning Into a Zombie

Sounds like liquor and watching hours of zombie shows don't mix.

23-year-old New Mexico man Damon Perry is in jail on an $800,000 bail after killing his friend Christopher Paquin following a period of excessive drinking while binge-watching the AMC series The Walking Dead.

"In my 13 years of doing this, that was the most brutal scene I have ever seen," said Grants Police Department spokesman Moses Marquez.
Perry told authorities he believed his friend was turning into a zombie and about to bite him. Police said Perry beat his friend to death with a microwave and a guitar and stabbed him with a knife.

After the stabbing/beating incident, Perry was apparently "chasing a woman around an apartment complex with a knife" when two maintenance men tackled him to the ground and waited for the police to arrive on the scene.
