THE DAMON LEGACY - Funny Bourne Parody

I think everyone must've had mixed feelings when we first heard that they'd be making a new Bourne film without Matt Damon. The reason why the studio would continue the franchise is pretty obvious, it stars with an "m" and ryhmes with money. But surely when you saw that they brought in Jeremy Renner that must've taken a bit of the sting off, right? He looks to soon be taking over the Mission: Impossible reigns from Tom Cruise. So is Renner the go-to hand-off guy? Will The Bourne Legacy just be a carbon copy of the other Bourne films? Check out the video, which points all this out, and let us know if you're on board the Bourne train.

Thanks to our friends at Superherohype we have soem great photos of Hugh Jackman from the set of The Wolverine.  James Mangold is directing the film, which is current shooting in Picton, New South Wales. The cast for the film also includes Will Yun Lee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima, and Brian Tee.

The story follows Logas as he "begins a forbidden romance with a Japanese woman whose hand in marriage is, unfortunately, promised to another man. Since Logan won't take "no" for an answer, it puts him into battle with her father and her samurai-sword-wielding brothers and Silver Samurai."

Check out the images from the set:

The Wolverine arrives in theaters on July 26, 2013. Mangold will bring a unique perspective to the film I believe, one which fans will hopefully love. Are you liking what you are seeing so far?

HELLRAISER Concept Art from Possible Reboot

Here is some cool concept art from a possible reboot of the Clive Barker horror classic, Hellraiser. Don't worry, Pinhead is still as terrifying as ever. The art was designed by Paul Gerrard (Wrath of the Titans and Battle LA), and are for a teaser trailer that was directed by Mike Le Han (Mrs. Peppercorn's Magical Reading Room) and produced by the duo.

The project is described as follows:

In July Paul Gerrard (Wrath Of The Titans, Battle LA) and Mike Le Han (Mrs Peppercorn’s Magical Reading Room) produced a teaser trailer to accompany the pitch document which has many more conceptual designs that revision Hellraiser. Paul designed the new look for Pinhead and was production designer on the shoot and Le Han pulled in all of his film resources and directed the teaser on the new Alex 4:3 camera with anamorphic lenses.

With a crew of 47 an over 100 bloodied extras, the shoot was completed and is now in the depths of post production with a massive amount of VFX work being undertaken. Method Studios, Fugitive Studios and Flipbook Animation are helming the chi/VFX with the talented Glen Southern designing the new Hellraiser box.

When the teaser is complete they’ll be presenting it to Dimension Films along with an outline of the first film story and conceptual art pitch document with the hope to work on rebooting the Hell raiser franchise and bringing it into the 21st Century.

What do you think of the world that Gerrard and Le Han have created? I look forward to seeing and sharing the teaser trailer with you.

Check out this incredibly epic fan-made LEGO model of the Serenity ship from Joss Whedon's Firefly. The seven-foot-long, 135 pound, 70,000 piece LEGO brick model was awesomely built by Adrian Drake.

This project took 475 hours over 21 months. The ship has a full interior from the bridge to the cargo bay, and features lights in the cargo bay and firefly drive.

This thing turned out so damn amazing! I've included some more pictures below, but you can click here to see all 75 detailed photos.

Tom Hiddleston Teases Awesomeness of THOR: THE DARK WORLD

$

Tom Hiddleston, the actor who brilliantly plays the character Loki in the Marvel cinematic universe, recently gave an interview with Total Film magazine in which he discusses playing the villain. In the interview he teased director Alan Taylor's vision of Thor: The Dark World saying...

I don't want to give too much away. But I can guarantee that you won't be disappointed. Alan Taylor's vision of Thor 2 is utterly brilliant. The journey continues in the most epic dimension and proportion imaginable. It's very, very exciting.

It is exciting, isn't it! It's going to be pretty awesome to see this new vision of Thor's world brought to life. At one point in the interview Hiddleston is asked what the best part about being Loki is, and this was his reply...

The best thing about being Loki is that he is my diametric opposite. Physically, he is a photo negative of who I am. Loki is dark and pale, and I am light and fair. Also spiritually I am not much like him either. Yet I feel an incredible freedom in playing him.

He is a combination of mercurial intellectual ability, emotional ambiguity, rakish charm, charisma and provocative wit. He has a wicked inclination to mischief, underneath which is a well of spiritual pain. Both these aspects are central to his depth as a character: his unashamed and perverse delight in creating chaos; and his capacity for raw emotional expression.

And – as my American friends tell me – he's kind of a badass! He's one of the richest, most rewarding, most fun characters I've ever played.

I think Hiddleston is one of the best casting decisions Marvel made in their cinematic universe. I can't see anyone else laying Loki like he does. Thor: The Dark World also stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Idris Elba, Zachary Levi, Stellan Skarsgard and Christopher Eccleston. It's set to be released on November 8th 2013!

What are you excited about seeing most in Thor 2?

Christopher Nolan Shares Thoughts on MAN OF STEEL

I'm really hoping Zack Snyder is able to pull off an incredible Superman film with Man of Steel! I liked the little bit of footage I saw at Comic-Con, but there was so little of it I'm still not sure what to expect from the film. One thing is for sure... it's going to look good visually.

Dark Knight Rises director Christopher Nolan is an executive producer on the project, and had a hand in developing the story that the movie would tell. When asked about the film in a recent interview with Digital Spy, here's what he had to say:

Well, I don't want say too much about it, because they are long way out. They are at the beginning of that (post-production) process, really, and it doesn't come out for another year. But, I think what Zack and Henry are doing with the character is going to make a pretty remarkable impression.

If it made an impression on Nolan, then I think it will make an impression on us. Of course, after The Dark Knight Rises, it seems like some of Nolan's fans have turned on him, so maybe Nolan's thoughts hold no more weight for some of you. But I can't wait to see how Man of Steel turns out, I want it to be unlike anything I've seen before. Do you think it will make a remarkable impression?

Man of Steal stars Henry Cavill, Michael Shannon, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Laurence Fishburne, Kevin Costner and Ayelet Zorer, and it's set to hit theatres on June 14th, 2013.

Trailer for Kathryn Bigelow's ZERO DARK THIRTY Seal Team 6 Movie

The trailer for The Hurt Locker director Kathryn Bigelow's SEAL Team 6 movie Zero Dark Thirty has arrived, and it looks awesome! The movie tells the story of a black ops Navy Seal mission that led to the death of the terrorist Osama bin Laden during a high-stakes raid on his compound in Pakistan. The movie gives us the backstory behind the raid, and how "intelligence agencies and the military connected the dots that eventually brought them to that compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan." The screenwriter of the film, Mark Boal, had this to say in a statement,

I’m fascinated by people who dedicate themselves to really difficult and dangerous things for the greater good. I think they’re heroic and I’m intrigued by them. I’m fascinated by the world they inhabit. I personally want to know how they caught bin Laden. All I can do is hope that it interests other people.

Well, I'm incredibly interested in this story, and I'm looking forward to seeing it told up on the big screen. Bigelow is a very talented director, and I have no doubt she's done a great job telling this story.

The film stars Joel Edgerton, Jessica Chastain, Edgar Ramirez, Mark Strong, Kyle Chandler, Nash Edgerton, Jennifer Ehle, Harold Perrineau and Frank Grillo. It opens up in theaters on December 19th.

Watch the trailer and let us know if you like what you see! I've also included photos from the film that come from Entertainment Weekly.

COCKNEYS VS. ZOMBIES - Hilarious Red-Band Trailer

Here's an awesomely funny trailer to a great looking British zombie flick called Cockneys Vs. Zombies. For those of you who enjoy watching zombie movies, I think you're going to love this. It's got a Shaun of the Dead kind of feel to it, only it's a little bit more hard core. It's also got a solid group of old people blowing zombies away with guns.

Here's the Synopsis:

The undead are brown bread -- A bunch of east-easters fight their way out of a zombie infested London, lead by an unlikely gang of amateur banks robbers and foul-mouthed plucky pensioners.

The movie was directed by British filmmaker Matthias Hoene from a script written by James Moran (Severance, Torchwood) and Lucas Roche. The movie is set to premier this September at Fantastic Fest. Enjoy the trailer!

DAREDEVIL gets a Director and Marvel Wants Galactus from Fox

$

0

There's some interesting things going on between Fox and Marvel. If Fox doesn't start production on their Daredevil reboot by October 10th, they will lose the rights and revert back over to Marvel. But... it looks like Marvel is willing to extend those rights, they just want something in return.

As of right now, Fox is trying to push Daredevil forward as fast as they can, and are in negotiations with A-Team director Joe Carnahan to develop the Daredevil reboot. They plan on making a darker version of the character with this next film described by Variety as a "Frank Miller-esque, hardcore 70s thriller" take on blind Hell's Kitchen superhero Matt Murdock. Carnahan's involvement isn't officially set in stone, but he's the studio's top choice, and they are making progress in the discussions.

So what happens if Fox can't get things up and running in time? According to sources Marvel will give Fox more time to make Daredevil, in return Marvel wants to use some characters from the Fantastic Four universe. The characters they want include the epic world-devouring supervillain Galactus, which will most likely play a key role in future Marvel films. They are also looking to use Silver Surfer as well, who in the comics brokered a deal to serve as Galactus' herald in order to save his home planet. Both the movie rights for these characters are currently owned by Fox.

Whatever happens from here rests in the hands of Fox, and talks between the two studios are expected to continue later this week. I really hope that Fox ends up making a deal with Marvel. I'd love to see what they have in store for these characters in future films! I'm also very interested in seeing what Carnahan's plans are for Daredevil. I've enjoyed Carnahan's movies, which most recently included The Grey with Liam Neeson.

What do you think about Carnahan directing Daredevil and the deal Marvel wants to strike with Fox?

Robert Zemeckis to Direct movie about the Barefoot Bandit

$

20th Century Fox has hired Back to the Future director Robert Zemekis to direct a crime drama thriller based on the true story of the Barefoot Bandit called Taking Flight: The Hunt for a Young Outlaw

Do you remember the Barefoot Bandit? The 18-year-old named Colton Harris-Moore who became "a cult hero for a string of crimes that baffled local police, Homeland Security and the FBI." He was called the Barefoot Bandit because he would commit his crimes without shoes. He's is considered a modern-day Robin Hood who ended up stealing a small aircraft, a boat, and two cars as well as at least 100 burglaries of private residences in various locations around the Pacific Northwest of the United States and Canada.

Zemekis is also overseeing the screenplay development, which is currently being written by Milk scribe Dustin Lance Black. David Gordon Green was originally attached to the project but left it to focus on his remake of Suspiria.

Zemeckis most recently directed the live-action film Flight with Denzel Washington. The director disappeared for a while in the world of mediocre CG animated motion capture movies, but I'm happy to see him take on another live-action film. Zemeckis is a great filmmaker and storyteller, and I think this is a great film for him to develop! What do you think about Zemekis taking on the story of the Barefoot Bandit?

Here's some more information Colton Harris-Moore:

Colton Harris-Moore is an American criminal and former fugitive from Camano Island, Washington. He was charged with the thefts of small aircraft, a boat, and two cars and in the burglaries of at least 100 private residences in various locations around the Pacific Northwest of the United States and Canada. He fled to the Bahamas on July 4, 2010, allegedly in a plane stolen from Bloomington, Indiana.[10] He was indicted on July 6, 2010, by a U.S. Federal Court in Seattle, Washington, on charges of transporting another stolen aircraft in that state. Harris-Moore was arrested in Harbour Island, Bahamas, on July 11, 2010, after police shot out the engine of the boat in which he was attempting to flee. Two days later, he was deported from Nassau, Bahamas, to Miami, Florida, and transferred on July 21 to the Federal Detention Center, SeaTac in Washington State. On December 16, 2011, Harris-Moore was sentenced to more than seven years in prison for dozens of consolidated charges brought against him from three different counties. On January 27, 2012, he was sentenced to 6 and a half years for related federal crimes.

He became known as the "Barefoot Bandit" by reportedly committing some of his crimes barefoot, once leaving behind 39 chalk footprints and the word "c'ya!". Despite the widely-reported nickname, officials said that he more often wore shoes.

Do any of you remember Predator II? It was actually pretty bad, and I haven't seen it in years. But! There was a cool little easter egg in the film that included the skull of a Xynomorph from the Alien movie franchise. It makes a very brief appearance, but it's there. The skull weighs 4 pounds and is 32 inches long. There's no doubt it will look great up on your wall of other skulls that you have from aliens that you've hunted down over the years.

The skull was crafted by Wataru from Psycho Monsterz in Japan and it can be yours for only $875 bucks! Yeah! *High five!
