Is Marvel Studios' INHUMANS Movie Going To Be Cancelled?

0
0

Here's an interesting rumor regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Rich Johnston at Bleeding Cool is reporting that that he overheard "well connected sources" in bars last night after New York Comic Con saying that Marvel Studios plans to move the Inhumans movie completely off their release slate. Why? Well, it apparently has to do with the recent restructuring within the company.

As many of you know, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige no longer has to report to Marvel CEO Ike Perlmutter, the notoriously frugal billionaire who admittedly saved the company from bankruptcy years ago but has been a thorn in Feige's side in recent years creatively speaking. With Feige reporting directly to Disney and the creative committee no longer in play on the film side of things, there's rumored to be an even bigger separation between the movies and the television shows (Perlmutter still controls the TV department). Bleeding Cool points out Inhumans is the movie that Marvel TV most wanted to happen since they've been setting up for that storyline in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and they seem to suggest that Marvel Studios may abandon the film altogether out of sheer spite.

BC's report is incredibly flimsy and should be taken with a massive grain of salt until we hear otherwise, but I can see how, freed of the obligations of reporting to Perlmutter and incorporating his ideas, Feige and the rest of the people at Marvel Studios might want to go their own way and avoid Inhumans, since they haven't made any major references to those characters in any of the MCU films thus far. So while it sounds vaguely plausible, we'll have to wait and see how it shakes out.

Watch: 10 Funniest Death Scenes in Movies

ScreenRant has put together a video compilation of their 10 funnest death scenes in movie history, and it's probably not too far off from what my own list would be if I were to sit down and actually make one. There are some truly awful death scenes represented here (I'm looking at you, Live and Let Die), and there are some pretty great ones, too (MacGruber!), so I'd be interested to hear what you all think. Are there any funny death scenes that didn't make their list? Let us know in the comments.

THE EXPENDABLES 4 Locks and Loads For 2017 Release

Sylvester Stallone is refusing to let The Expendables franchise die. I thought the first movie was disappointing, and actually thought the goofier tone of the second one was an improvement, but so many people said the third one was terrible that I didn't even bother going to see it. But dismal reviews and less than $40 million in domestic grosses aren't stopping Sly: the third film made over $165 million overseas, meaning that there's still enough interest worldwide in seeing a bunch of old guys beat the crap out of each other that The Expendables 4 is a sure thing.

Variety reports that the movie has received (at least partial) Chinese funding and will have a budget of over $100 million. The movie is going to film a little in China — no surprise, considering the current state of the film industry — in 2016 with plans for a release in 2017.

Stallone himself admits that the third movie's PG-13 rating was a disastrous, monumentally stupid decision, saying he's going back to an R rating this time:

"Absolutely unequivocally yes. I believe it was a horrible miscalculation on everyone’s part in trying to reach a wider audience, but in doing such, diminish the violence that the audience expects. I’m quite certain it won’t happen again."

He's also teased a bit about what the story might entail:

"I have actually entertained the idea of putting the group into such an unnatural environment that it, in an of itself, creates extra suspense and tension: the 'fish out of water' scenario. That environment might not be time travel, but nearly just as jarring."

Is anyone excited for another Expendables movie?

Striking IMAX Poster for THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY - Part 2

"Nothing can prepare you for the end"

Lionsgate has released a new IMAX poster for The Hungers Games: Mockingjay Part 2. One thing I’ve gotta give The Hunger Games credit for is the great marketing materials for their films. They really seem to actually try to give the posters and trailers some style.

This latest poster is a visually striking work of art. It features Jennifer Lawrence looking beautifully fierce as Katniss. The poster comes from Wired, who offers the following commentary:

It also, through beautiful design, sends some interesting signals for fans of both the film franchise and Suzanne Collins’ book series. The most obvious, of course, is the prevalence of roses, which symbolize the Capitol’s President Snow (Donald Sutherland). The leader of Panem always wears white roses and leaves them as threats for Katniss. He also, as we learned in Mockingjay — Part 1, uses them to cover up the fact that he smells like blood from years spent poisoning people.

In case you missed it, you can watch the last trailer that was released for the film right here

With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow [Donald Sutherland] in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale [Liam Hemsworth], Finnick [Sam Claflin] and Peeta [Josh Hutcherson] – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to liberate the citizens of Panem, and stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her. The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.

The movie hits theaters on November 20th.

Artist Abe has whipped up a piece of cool Harley Quinn art that gives the character an amazing Halloween makeover! I really hope that a cosplayer sees this and makes an outfit of it. If you do end up doing this, please send a photo! Here’s a note from the artist:

Halloween Harley is ready for the spooky season to start, are you? 🎃👻🎃💀🎃 No seriously! I'm really ready for it to be Halloween already!!! I love The trick or treat season so why not design a costume for my favorite gal based off it 🎃 I'm still tinkering with some things, but I'm mostly happy with it and put the major elements I wanted in there. 😁 BRING ON THE HALLOWEEN MAZES!!!! 😈

Dave Bautista Prays For an AVENGERS and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Crossover

If an Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy crossover film happens, it’s not going to happen anytime soon. From everything that we’ve heard from Kevin Feige and James Gunn, it’s something that just isn’t in the plans right now. Who knows, though. Maybe one day it will happen. In a recent interview with Screen RantDave Bautista gushes over how much he would love to see that crossover happen. In fact, he prays about it all the time! When asked about the crossover he laughed and said:

"Yeah, come on, man. Hell yeah. Yeah, of course I would. At the core of me is the biggest geek you’ve ever met. I’m a superhero fan first and foremost, and…of course, man, I want that to happen. It’s rumors right now, but, you know, I pray every day… and night, and afternoon, and after you walk out the door I’ll go pray and say, 'Please let Drax be in ‘The Avengers.’ ” [Laughter] Yeah, I hope it’ll happen."

The next time we’ll see Bautista as Drax on the big screen is in Guardians of the Galaxy 2. After that, who knows when we’ll exactly see him in the Marvel universe. I imagine it won’t happen until Guardians of the Galaxy 3, when or if that ever happens. Hell, maybe it's one of the three untitled films that Marvel announced earlier this week.

If you’re a fan of the Margot Robbie’s look as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad, then you might be interested in getting a replica of the jacket that she wears. The jacket comes from fjackets, and it’s a movie accurate version of what Quinn wears. It features two outside pockets, a zip closure, and ‘Property of the Joker’ on the back. Here’s the description from the product page:

A villain that has the whole world crazy after her is now featured on this online store. Here is the Harley Quinn Jacket. You definitely must be familiar with the name Harley Quinn. Margot Robbie wore this outfit as she acted as Harley in the superhero movie titled, Suicide Squad.
When it came to creating this stunning Harley Quinn Suicide Squad Jacket, satin was used to give a shiny look to it. This also makes it a light weighted jacket for you. Inside viscose has been stitched to absorb the moisture and keep you comfortable. Gold lining on the sleeves shows the edgy and stylish look of Harley Quinn and you can be the first to own this outfit to envy your friends.

CRIMSON PEAK - New Film Clip and Four Featurettes

The positive buzz has been growing for Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak. If you’re a fan of the filmmaker’s horror movies, then this is a movie that you don’t want to miss. I really hope that this R-rated gothic horror film succeeds at the box office because if it does, it means that Del Toro will be able to make more movies like this. The studios will stop telling him no when he pitches great projects like this to them. Hell, if this succeeds it could open doors to films like In the Mountains of Madness

To help get you in the mood for this movie, we have a new clip and four featurettes that focus on certain aspects of the movie. The clip features a chilly conversation between Edith (Mia Wasikowsa) and Lucille (Jessica Chastain). The conversation focus on a metaphor in which Edith is a butterfly and Lucille is a black moth. It looks like Chastain is going to give a insane performance.

Legendary Pictures’ CRIMSON PEAK, a co-production with Universal Pictures, is a haunting gothic horror story directed by the master of dark fairy tales, Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy series, Pacific Rim), written by del Toro and Matthew Robbins and starring Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston and Charlie Hunnam. In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds…and remembers. Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni, del Toro and Callum Greene produce, and Jillian Share executive produces.

Crimson Peak hits theaters on October 16th.

This Star-Lord T-Shirt Has a Helmet Hood With LED Eyes

Just in case you’re looking for a new geek shirt to add to your collection, you’ve got to check out this Star-Lord-inspired shirt! What makes this shirt so unique is that it includes a helmet hood with LED lights in the eyes. It’s not every day you see a t-shirt with a hood. It also makes for a lazy Halloween costume!

Peter Quill is such a likeable character, despite the bad boy outlaw persona he tries to cultivate. We can relate to him, because he's a geek fanboy, just like us. He's got his movie quotes. He's got his mixtape. Except for the whole saving the galaxy thing, he's us. (And give us time - we're working on it.)
Become even more like Peter Quill with this Star-Lord Hooded T-Shirt with LED Mask. The lines of his leather jacket are printed on the front of this v-neck tee. His helmet is printed on the hood, complete with light-up eyes, which are held in place with hook and loop elastic. Adjust the elastic for a perfect fit. Remove the mask and electronics to wash.

If you want to purchase one, head on over to ThinkGeek, and it will cost you $34.99.

GOTHAM Season 2 Ep. 4 Promo Spot and Clip - “Strike Force”

Last week's episode of Gotham was shockingly spectacular! I love how they are setting up the insanity that will flood the streets of Gotham. You can read some additional information on the big twist of last episode here, in which creator Bruno Heller talks how Jerome’s influence gave birth to the Joker.

I have a new promo spot and a clip for the upcoming episode that gives us a look at what is coming. The clip introduces us to the young Silver St. Cloud, the niece of Theo Galavan. Bruce Wayne is smitten with her, but behind that pretty face lies “a heart beating with dark intent.”

The next episode is called “Strike Force,” and here’s the synopsis:

Captain Barnes (Michael Chiklis) is called to duty to create a law-abiding task force, with the help of Gordon. Meanwhile, Penguin gets caught up in a favor for alavan, and Nygma asks Kringle out on a date in the all new Rise of the Villains: Strike Force episode of GOTHAM airing Monday, October 12th on FOX.

Watch a Magical Unicorn Poop Rainbow Ice Cream for a Prince to Eat

Here's a hilarious commercial that has a magical unicorn pooping rainbow ice cream while a prince eats it and explains the proper pooping technique. This ad was made for the Squatty Potty, which is a bathroom stool designed to help promote better colon health.

Pooping will never be the same. This Unicorn shows the effects of improper toilet posture and how it can affect your health. The Squatty Potty toilet stool has been featured on Shark Tank and Dr OZ show and has thousands of happy customers.

I've gotta say, this is one of the strangest commercials that I've ever seen. Seriously, you have no idea what you're in for until you start watching it. Enjoy!

This double breasted comic book jacket was created by fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier, and it’s a part of his vintage line of clothing. It’s called the ‘JPG’ jacket, and it came with the following description:

Multicoloured comic print 'JPG' jacket from Jean Paul Gaultier Vintage featuring peaked lapels, long sleeves, a double breasted front fastening and side slit pockets. Please note that vintage items are not new and therefore might have minor imperfections.

It’s kind of cool and all, but with an $800 price tag, I don’t think it’s worth it. Would you spend that kind of money on this thing? Click here if you're interested in buying.

The Most Iconic Sidekicks in History - Infographic

This is a fun infographic that gives us a list of some of the movie iconic sidekicks in history. These characters have appeared in books, TV, comics, video games, and films. It was created by Morphsuits.com, who says:

The hero might take home the glory, but more often than not it’s their trusty sidekick who saves the day (and steals the show!).
Frodo would have succumbed to the powers of evil if it wasn’t for his loyal companion Sam, and Shrek would still be living alone in his swamp if he’d never met Donkey.
We’ve examined some of the greatest partnerships from films, games, and literature. From the crime-fighting Dynamic Duo to everyone’s favourite plumber brothers, here are the best fictional sidekicks.

Look over the list and let us know if there are any other sidekicks that would have made better choices.

Freddy Krueger Puppet Sings a Creepy Cover of "Dream A Little Dream of Me"

Freddy Krueger recently made an appearance in an episode of Glove and Boots as a puppet and sings a parody of the song "Dream A Little Dream of Me." In the episode, Mario has a bad dream and Krueger shows up to sing the song. It's kind of amusingly frightening.
