We’ve got a very long way to go before we see the first Avengers: Infinity War movie hit the big screen. While we wait until May 4th, 2018 rolls around, we’ll have a few other Marvel movies to keep us busy and entertained. But there’s also cool fan-made stuff we can enjoy. This piece comes from Boss Logic, and, as you can see, it features the Mad Titan wielding the Infinity Gauntlet with the six Infinity Stones. In case you missed it, you can check out a featurette that Marvel released that gives us a great breakdown of these stones in the MCU.

Fox is Trying to Figure Out Their FANTASTIC FOUR Sequel

I seriously can't believe that 20th Century Fox is actually planning to make a Fantastic Four sequel. That last film was the final nail in the coffin for that franchise, and after it completely bombed and people hated it, they still think that they actually have an audience for it. Talk about being in denial.

Fantastic Four screenwriter Simon Kinberg recently talked to MTV about the sequel which has already been greenlit saying, “I’m really focused on the next one." He went on to talk about the disappointment of the first film:

"I was obviously disappointed. I was most disappointed that fans didn’t like it. I care more about them than I do anyone else. But I haven’t done a full deep dive on it. Do I think it was unfairly treated? I don’t know.”

No, I don't think it was unfairly treated. If you saw the movie, then I think many of you would agree. When asked about the rumored difficulties during the production on the film, he kind of danced around the question with the following answer:

“I’ve been on plenty of happy movies that don’t turn out to be very good movies, I’ve been on a lot of unhappy, difficult sets that turn out to be great movies. There was a lot of attention on the process of making that movie. It’s hard, when you’re making a movie, movies are hard to make. It’s just the reality.
"Every time you make a movie, you want to make a great movie. It’s a ton of time and effort you put in. We made that movie in the sweltering heat of summer in Baton Rouge and I was there every day of photography. You’re waking up every morning being like, I want to go make a great movie. It was an opportunity to do that. I do believe there is a great ’Fantastic Four’ movie that we’ve made with that cast. So I’m gonna figure out what that is.”

Even Kinberg is in denial. If it the writer of the film is still trying to figure out where that great movie is, you know there's a problem. He goes on to talk about the sequel saying he'd like to see the cast come back to reprise their roles, and then says:

“We’re figuring out what that movie would be. I’d like that to happen.”

Well, you are one of very few people that would like to see it happen. Fox just needs to let go of this franchise, and let Marvel do it right.

How to Approach DESTINY: THE TAKEN KING as a Burned Veteran Player

$

0

Bungie released Destiny just over a year ago. They have released two expansions to the original game and made dozens of tweaks and adjustments to weapon balancing, inventory systems, missions, and raids, upgraded weapons, armor, materials…you name it. So by now you’d think they have this pretty well nailed down and are ready to move forward focusing strictly on content, right? Nope. They are completely revamping the entire leveling system, the inventory system, the monetary and reputation systems, the vault, vendors, weapons, armor, quests, bounties...even the voice of the Ghost. (Buh bye, Dinklage.) Nearly every aspect of the game is changing.

The good news is these changes are going to help the ‘grinding’ aspect of Destiny, add some much-needed features, and make it more approachable for newcomers to the game. There are many new aspects to the game, and below you’ll find what has stood out the most to me.

Player levels might actually mean something now. Your XP level and your light level are now completely separate. This is something that has needed to happen for some time. Before, getting to the level cap of 20 only meant you got to grind to obtain (if you’re lucky) armor and materials to get you to the next level. It didn’t matter if you liked the look or perks, you had to equip it if you wanted to get to the next level and be able to compete. Thankfully they’ve made it so if you’re a max level (which is now 40), you can access the max level missions, etc. Light will still play a role in the strength of your weapons and armor, but not your level. We’ll see if this translates over or if they’re just titillating us and you still need light to do anything.

Bounties can be turned in from your menu! THANK GOD (or whatever deity you prefer)! With the tower load times and the “return to orbit” load times, this is going to save hours in the long run. In addition, you have more bounty slots and more inventory space as well.

Vendors and factions will have a larger role in your progression and what you can do at the tower. You’ll actually get to do things for the Gunsmith. You can pledge your allegiance to a faction without having to put on their faction piece. Plus, the Cryptarch supposedly won’t be such a dick. We all know that’s highly unlikely, though.

-RNG-esus (Random Number Generator): They’ve reworked the random system of giving out rewards to pay better attention to what’s in your inventory and what you need for progression. The goal of this is to avoid giving players the same reward multiple times and targets you for loot valuable to your progression.

Now for the bad news…

We’re all no strangers to lack of extensive content in the main game and the expansions. Bungie has stated that there is more content in The Taken King than in the previous two expansions combined. However, that’s not really saying much. With each of the first two expansions, I was really excited for a couple days. Then it was the same repetition, just adding in the extra strike or couple of missions to the rotation. On top of that, the new enemy type is called “The Taken,” and they’re not really all that new. They’re just reworked versions of the enemies that you’ve killed thousands of times. New attack and defense strategies, yes. But essentially they’re just re-skinned versions of what you’re used to.

Perhaps the biggest negative on all this comes down to money. Most of us have spent $100 from day one on Destiny. We trusted Bungie to give us the best damn game money could buy. Yes, it was — and still is — an extremely polished game that looked and felt great...until you realized you were doing the same missions and bounties day after day after day. For me, that was almost 200 hours later. For you, it may have been more, or, hopefully, less. Now you can purchase Destiny along with both expansions AND The Taken King for $80. If you’ve been on the bandwagon since Sept. 9th, 2014, it’ll cost you an additional $40 to continue on the ride. Now if you’re in the same boat as me and you trusted Bungie from day one with $100 USD of your hard earned money, you tell me how that feels. The only way we as consumers can get our point across to developers and producers is with our wallet, money clip, purse or other money holding device. Maybe you feel that the first year of ups and downs, changes, and fine-tuning was worth your $100 and you’re happy with the investment of time and money.

To me, it feels like an ever so gentle slap in the face. Like Bungie is saying, “Hey, I know you trusted us and you have paid us almost double what newcomers are going to pay. Thank you for your money, we just need to take more. But don’t worry, we took care of you with an exclusive shader, emblem and sparrow. And by 'exclusive,' we mean 20+ million players will have it. That makes up for it, right?” My worry is that we played a very long paid Beta and now they’ve completely reworked the game for another year of trial and error. The changes sound appealing and great in theory. However, there is a lot of gray area between what they are saying it will be and what it might actually be.

I personally am going to keep my small piece of negotiating power tucked in my back pocket until the dust has settled and they’ve proven to me that they deserve it, because right now the excitement doesn’t overpower my feeling of distrust for Bungie. I will keep an eye on it and time will tell.

Ridley Scott Explains Where PROMETHEUS 2 Will Take Audiences

We've got some more details on Prometheus 2 thanks to director Ridley Scott, who is out making the press rounds for his upcoming sci-fi film The Martian. Prometheus 2 will be Scott's next film project and it will see the return of Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace. The filmmaker doesn't really give any plot details, but he does tease where the story is going to take audiences. This is what he told Empire in a recent interview:

"You [could] leave the first film alone and jump ahead, but you can’t because it ends on too specific a plot sentence as she says, 'I want to go where they came from, I don’t want to go back to where I came from'. I thought the subtext of that film was a bit florid and grandiose, but it asks a good question: who created us?
"That raises the question to me. Same as was depicted in 2001 when... that ape that had been grubbing around in the water hole with all of them bickering at each other... has a bigger thought injected into his brain than Newton got sitting under a tree and seeing an apple fall. That is one gigantic, magnificent leap of a thousand years of evolution; that is where the world begins. It is pretty grand thinking, and that’s what I want to explore. You’ve got to go back and find those engineers and see what they are thinking. If engineers are the forerunners of us, and therefore were creators of life forms in places that were possible for biology to function, who created that? Where’s the big boy?"

Scott is really passionate about doing Prometheus 2, as he chose to make that film over Blade Runner 2, which just seems crazy to me. For me, doing Blade Runner 2 seems like a no-brainer, but he hired Dennis Villenueve to direct it. Scott says,

"He has taken my script, from Hampton [Fancher] and Michael Green, and that’s what he’ll make. I can’t direct them all, and I have to do Prometheus."

I thought the first Prometheus was good, but it could have been so much better. I hope this sequel turns out to be an all-around better movie. It sounds like Scott has come up with a lot of interesting concepts to play with in the film, and it will be interesting to see what he does to implement those ideas of the origin of creation into the story.

PULP FICTION: See Quentin Tarantino's Early Shortlist of Who Should Star

I want to make it clear right up front that this information comes from Reddit, so it's tough to verify its legitimacy. But assuming that it's true, this is a cool look inside the mind of writer/director Quentin Tarantino before casting took place on his mainstream success story Pulp Fiction.

I'm always fascinated by the casting process and who missed out on playing certain roles, and that goes double for this specific film because it featured amazing characters that completely changed the course of the lives of the actors who played them (John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson chief among them). Pulp Fiction is such a classic, but with names like Johnny Depp, Michael Keaton, Dennis Quaid, Al Pacino, Denzel Washington, John Cusack, Bill Paxton, and Jennifer Jason Leigh popping up on this list, it's fascinating to think about the movie with a completely different group of actors in the lead roles and imagine if it'd be as effective with those new faces. Take a look at the list below (via The Playlist):

When Super Mario Maker was announced, I knew it would give way to some creativity, but nothing like this. I would never ever expect a level from a Mario Bros. game to creep me out. Mario is happy! This is...just unsettling. I absolutely love it. Creations like this could potentially shape the future of Nintendo games. Keep making stuff like this, community! I'll play it non-stop! Fox is Already Planning a DEADPOOL Sequel

Earlier today we learned that Fox was moving forward with a sequel to Fantastic Four, which doesn't make any sense. But they are also already planning a making a sequel to a film that fans are actually excited about! That sequel is for Tim Miller and Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool

Even though fans are excited for this Deadpool movie, it's a pretty risky move for the studio because of its R rating. That rating may make the fans extremely happy, but there's a chance it won't make the kind of money the studio is hoping for because that rating limits their audience. I really hope that it turns out to be more successful than they are thinking it will be.

Producer Simon Kinberg has seen an early rough cut of the film, and he confirms that Fox is already talking about doing the sequel. During an interview with Collider he said:

"I have seen a rough cut of Deadpool and it’s fantastic. It’s a really good movie. It delivers on the promise of the trailer. We certainly are talking about the sequel...But yeah [Fox is] feeling good about it, we’re all feeling really proud of it, so hopefully before it comes out we will be well into the process of figuring out a sequel."

It's great to hear that the first movie is going to deliver the greatness. About a month ago Tim Miller said that he wanted to see Cable make an appearance in a Deadpool sequel. As it turns out, there's a good chance that he will actually be involved. When asked about the character and if he would be involved with the project, Kinberg said:

"It’s certainly come up because he’s such a big character in the world. And it’s a character that I’ve always wanted to do in one form or another, we talked about Cable actually in Days of Future Past at one point. But yeah we’re in such the early stages of sequel talk it would be genuinely premature for me to say whether or not he was gonna be in it."

Cable isn't official involved with the film yet, but it's definitely looking good. I don't see how they can keep this Deadpool film franchise alive and not include Cable in it. Deadpool is scheduled to open February 12th, 2016.

A Really Big GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Easter Egg Has Yet to Be Found

James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy was packed full of Easter eggs from the Marvel Universe. Many of them were found in The Collector’s museum. There were lots of fan theories regarding some of the stuff the fans found, but there is apparently one big Easter egg that has yet to be discovered.

While giving some movie trivia on his Facebook page, Gunn was asked if every Guardians of the Galaxy Easter egg had been found in the movie, and this was his intriguing reply:

“They have not all been found. No one has found the big one, really. Maybe once someone came close.”

So according to Gunn, there’s something big in the film that no one has found yet. I guess there’s a chance someone has found it but has not made it known to the world. I’ve seen this movie a ridiculous amount of times, and it’s hard to think that there’s something there that still hasn’t been discovered. How has no one found “the big one” yet!?

I wouldn’t even know where to look for another Easter egg at this point. I just wish Gunn would point it out for us, but he doesn’t. Now every time I watch Guardians of the Galaxy, I’m still going to be keeping my eye out for something.

Do any of you have any idea of what it could be?

Sebastian Stan Talks About The "Brutal" Fights in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

$

Captain America: Civil War is the next Marvel Studios film on the schedule, and I think it's fair to say this is the most anticipated film of theirs since the first Avengers. There's a lot of hype and a lot of expectation to live up to, and with one of the stars saying that it's even darker than Age of Ultron, it sounds like the filmmakers are not messing around with this one.

In a new interview with We Got This Covered, actor Sebastian Stan, who plays Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier in the film franchise, was asked whether or not he'd like to eventually take over the role of Captain America in the movies like his character does in the comics. At first he responds sarcastically, but then basically says it's not up to him:

“No, I really wouldn’t, let me tell you, I think about that every day. It’s so not up to me, and to be honest I really enjoy my job over there, I’m really happy going to work and doing what I do. I love the character that I have. It’s up to a lot of different things, and whatever Marvel decides, I’m game.”

Kevin Feige has shown that he's not afraid to deviate from the source material and tweak the stories to make them work better as films, so it's really tough to say how closely he's going to hew to that particular storyline for the comics. For what it's worth, Chris Evans doesn't sound like he's ready to hang up the shield quite yet.

Stan also mentioned what we could expect to see in Civil War:

“Some brutal fighting, some serious, serious fighting like you haven’t really seen before in any of the other films. Which I’m really proud to say. And a whole lot of character and heart, because there’s a lot of people that are in the film, but you’re going to get a lot of character from everybody.”

Not having read the script, one of my biggest concerns heading into the movie as a fan is that there are an awful lot of characters in it, but if Stan is to be believed, it sounds like the writers may have figured out how to maximize the screen time of each of those characters. We'll find out when Captain America: Civil War blasts into theaters on May 6th, 2016.

BAT BLOOD is a BATMAN V SUPERMAN Parody of Taylor Swift’s "Bad Blood"

The team over at How It Should Have Ended have released a new animated video called Bat Blood. It is a comedic parody of Taylor Swift’s pop song "Bad Blood," and it features a ton of character cameos. The video was made in celebration of the 10-year anniversary of HISHE, and if you’ve enjoyed the videos they’ve made in the past, then I’m sure you’ll enjoy this latest addition.

This video was made to say thank you. HISHE turned 10 years old this year. Isn't that insane?! 10! And we could never have made it this far if you guys didn't support us. It has been a wonderful ride of parodies and alternate endings. We wanted to make a big montage like celebration video, so when the original Bad Blood video dropped and it was full of cameos (old and new) and scifi action movie galore, we could not help but feel inspired. We hope you enjoy this, and thank you again for subscribing! And thank you, Taylor, for making such an epic video. This project was extremely fun to work on.

I also included the Taylor Swift video that the parody is based on just in case you wanted to compare the two.

Emily Ratajkowski Will Star in 1980s Romance CRUISE

After catching her big break in Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" video a few years ago, model Emily Ratajkowski has definitely caught Hollywood's eye. David Fincher cast her in her first movie, Gone Girl, and since then she's starred in Entourage and the Zac Efron EDM movie We Are Your Friends. I just received a press release informing me of her newest film project, which is a 1980s-set romance called Cruise that's being directed by Robert Siegel.

Set during the summer of '87, CRUISE revolves around working-class Italian-American Gio Marchetti, who has little on his mind but racing cars and chasing girls. That is, until he meets Jessica Weintraub, a nice Jewish girl from Long Island who goes to Gio's neighborhood for some illicit thrills on the wrong side of the tracks. An affectionate look at the youth culture of a bygone era, CRUISE celebrates the joys of muscle cars, Motorola pagers and endless summer nights.

Siegel's filmography is all over the place. He wrote The Onion Movie, Darren Aronofsky's The Wrestler, and the DreamWorks Animation film Turbo, and he also wrote and directed Big Fan, starring Patton Oswalt. This will be his second directorial effort, and considering how varied his career has been so far, I'm not really sure what to expect from this one.

21 Jump Street actor Spencer Boldman will play the lead role of Gio Marchetti in this film, and production begins sometime this fall in New York. Are you interested in seeing what Ratajkowski can do in a small scale romance like this?

Rachel McAdams Confirmed to Star in DOCTOR STRANGE

Last month, Rachel McAdams confirmed that she had been in talks with Marvel to star in Doctor Strange alongside Benedict Cumberbatch. She previously stated, "I don't know where that's gonna go, if it's gonna go anywhere at all." TheWrap has now confirmed that McAdams has, in fact, taken the lead female role.

She will also star alongside Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, and, if his deal goes through, Mads Mikkelsen as the main villain

McAdams is a great actress, and it's exciting to hear that she is actually going to be in the movie. There's no official word on who she'll be playing, but I have no doubt that she'll be great!

I got to see a collection of concept art that was created for the film at Disney's D23 Expo, and I'm telling you...this movie is going to be incredible! It's going to be unlike any other Marvel movie that has been made so far. Here's what I wrote about it:

"Strange has been monitored by S.H.I.E.L.D., and we see him go through several different costume looks. Those include his traditional outfit, complete with his cape, and he even sports the gray hair at his temples.
"We got so see visuals of the car crash and his journey as he searches for the Ancient One. There was a lot of crazy cool astral plane art with a very magical and cosmic vibe. The collection of art was packed with planets and colorful lights. We see a city in which cars are suspended in air. Some of the art shows the city looking twisted and distorted, and it seems to turn in on itself. The last shot of the test footage was actually a piece of CG animated footage of Strange delivering a badass blast of light."

Doctor Strange is scheduled to hit theaters on November 4th, 2016. It's being directed by Scott Derrickson from a script written by Jon Spaihts.

Watch: Eric Stoltz is Still in BACK TO THE FUTURE

The fact that Eric Stoltz was originally hired to play Marty McFly is common knowledge to anyone who calls themselves a Back to the Future fan, but did you know he is still in the movie even after being recast by Michael J. Fox? This video lays out the whole story, and it's an interesting piece of trivia that even the most diehard BTTF may not have known about.

Since Robert Zemeckis had to reshoot four weeks' worth of footage, it's not too surprising that he ended up using a quick shot from before Fox came on board. It's unclear whether they shot the punch with Fox and it just didn't quite work as well, or if his busy schedule necessitated the editors to use an older take, but either way, they did a pretty good job hiding it if I've never noticed it after seeing the movie so many times.

Review: The Traveler Edition Makes SETTLERS OF CATAN Better!

$
0
0

Settlers of Catan has dozens of editions to choose from. You can buy the original, a Star Trek edition, a board that looks like your state...etc. etc. Stepping away from map variations comes a new version in the form of Settlers of Catan: Compact Edition. It's everything you love about Catan, but in small travel size form! Having played it a couple times with friends, I have to say it's my preferred way to play.

In style, it's not at all different from regular Catan, just smaller. The cards are about a fourth of the size of regular cards, and the pieces and board are of course miniature as well. Cards have a convenient holder for handing out resources, and all four players' pieces fit snugly in slots below the plastic game board. The settlements, roads, and cities all can be placed in fixed pegs as to better cope with the bumps and turns in the road, and if you're limited on players, there's even a separate set of rules for a two player game!

Obviously this is the version you want to use if you're traveling in a car, train, or plane...but why would you even want to play Catan in such a situation? Time. So many games of Catan are ruined by players whose greed and lack of bargaining cause the game to drag on for hours at a time. When you're on the road, you've got nothing but time, and it really changes the dynamic when you've got nothing better to do than wait! The ability to have a one-on-one game is certainly a plus, and the rules aren't that much different!

There is a rather small flaw in that not every tile is removable, but rather multiple tiles are fixed in puzzle form. The game variety can still be changed in multiple formats, but not nearly as many as a standard board. Another small gripe is the miniature dice kit needs a good shake to truly get a random roll. There were a couple times a quick flick of the wrist gave me the exact same roll as the person before me.

Bottom line is this is something you should own if you want to play Catan on the road, or even on vacation and are scared of losing pieces to careless cousins. If you're interested, you can get it online here.

Jennifer Lawrence Might Reteam With MOCKINGJAY Director For Sexy Spy Thriller RED SPARROW

$

With the caveat in place that no deal has been made yet, Deadline reports that mega-star Jennifer Lawrence is "orbiting" a new movie called Red Sparrow, which would potentially reteam her with Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence. The film is an adaptation of a spy novel by author Jason Matthews, and here's the synopsis of the book:

In present-day Russia, ruled by blue-eyed, unblinking President Vladimir Putin, Russian intelligence officer Dominika Egorova struggles to survive in the post-Soviet intelligence jungle. Ordered against her will to become a “Sparrow,” a trained seductress, Dominika is assigned to operate against Nathaniel Nash, a young CIA officer who handles the Agency’s most important Russian mole.
Spies have long relied on the “honey trap,” whereby vulnerable men and women are intimately compromised. Dominika learns these techniques of “sexpionage” in Russia’s secret “Sparrow School,” hidden outside of Moscow. As the action careens between Russia, Finland, Greece, Italy, and the United States, Dominika and Nate soon collide in a duel of wills, tradecraft, and—inevitably—forbidden passion that threatens not just their lives but those of others as well. As secret allegiances are made and broken, Dominika and Nate’s game reaches a deadly crossroads. Soon one of them begins a dangerous double existence in a life-and-death operation that consumes intelligence agencies from Moscow to Washington, DC.

J-Law as a badass undercover agent who uses her sexual prowess to get what she wants? I imagine 20th Century Fox executives are tripping over each other to see who can greenlight this first. If this moves ahead, the director won't be the only person Lawrence has worked with involved with this film: Justin Haythe is rewriting the script by Eric Warren Singer, who wrote the screenplay for American Hustle.

Lawrence, who directed every Hunger Games movie except for the first one, isn't even officially signed on himself yet, and the outlet cautions that it could be a while before Lawrence takes the role. She's fairly busy, after all, with the sci-fi film Passengers, a romance called The Rosie Project, a war photographer movie called It's What I Do, writing a movie with Amy Schumer, as well as promoting her upcoming movie Joy and the final installment (or is it?) of The Hunger Games franchise. We'll keep you posted on Red Sparrow as it develops further.

Is Christopher Nolan Involved With An AKIRA Trilogy at WB?

$

If you've been following movie news for a while, you're probably very familiar with the seemingly doomed live-action film adaptation of Akira, the classic manga and anime that Warner Bros. has been trying to make for over ten years. People like Keanu Reeves, Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, James Franco, Garrett Hedlund, Kristen Stewart, and Toby Kebbell have been up for starring roles at various times, and the studio has put a ton of effort into trying to find the right filmmaker for the job, with Jaume Collet-Serra (Non-Stop) being the latest director to fall off of the project.

Den of Geek has an extremely interesting rumor from a source close to Warner Bros. that the studio is now planning on turning their adaptation of Akira into a trilogy, and that Christopher Nolan has met with "a previously-attached filmmaker" in the past three months to discuss the project. So let's break this down piece by piece:

1. WB's apparently making it a trilogy now. I'm guessing fans of the original manga will find this news satisfying. I've only seen the anime and I'm not familiar with the source material so I don't know what was omitted from that version of the story, so I don't have any thoughts other than it's obvious any studio would try to build a franchise out of this property if they have the rights to it.

2. Nolan is reportedly involved, meeting with a director who was previously attached to the project. That could mean a number of people at this point, including Collet-Serra, the Hughes BrothersBlade director Stephen Norrington, and probably more. But in what capacity is he talking about the movie with this person? There seem to be two options:

3. The first, and probably least likely, option is that Nolan himself is directing at least one of these Akira movies. He just announced his newest mystery film for release in the summer of 2017, so perhaps it's the first entry into this new saga. But again, that seems unlikely if only because Nolan spent the better part of the last ten years directing a different trilogy. Still, the fact that Inception star DiCaprio's production company is producing the film and the fact that Nolan has strong ties to Warner Bros. may be more than a coincidence. The more likely option, though, is that Nolan is just producing (at least one movie in) this new trilogy, and is simply meeting with a previously-attached filmmaker to get up to speed about the inner workings of their development on the project. (Or I suppose he could be luring the filmmaker back to the director's chair, since Collet-Serra is reportedly no longer involved.)

The one thing we do know for certain after all of this is that Daredevil showrunner Marco J. Ramirez is writing the screenplay. The rest should be considered a rumor for now, but the possibilities are interesting to ponder. What do you think?

GAME OF THRONES' Emilia Clarke "Can't Stand" Sex Scenes

Emilia Clarke became a global sensation thanks to her work on Game of Thrones as Daenerys Targaryen, which, in the early seasons of the show, often required her to do nude scenes. But just because she did them doesn't mean she likes them, and rumor has it she hasn't appeared naked on screen in years because she told the producers she'd rather be "known for [her] acting and not [her] breasts."

In a new interview with The Daily Mail, Clarke spoke about how she can't stand sex scenes on TV:

"Sex scenes should be more subtle. I’m British, so I cringe at that sort of thing anyway — I can’t stand it...I don’t want to have sex thrown in my face and I’ve always thought the suggestion is so much more titillating than the act itself. Most sex scenes you see in films or on TV are gratuitous and they’re usually just to attract an audience. On screen, the subtler the better."

I can't say I really blame her. I'm guessing it's probably pretty easy to start feeling like she's being taken advantage of, especially with the way HBO has been taken to task in the media for not including equal amounts of male nudity when they could very easily make the decision to do that. Disney Developing Another MARY POPPINS Movie With Rob Marshall Directing

The Walt Disney Company is no stranger to reviving old properties in an effort to make more money — just take a look at the seemingly dozens of live-action adaptations in the works based on their classic animated films for proof — and now the studio is at it again.

EW reports that the company is "developing a new original live-action musical film" featuring the iconic character of Mary Poppins that Into The Woods helmer Rob Marshall will direct. The studio has already rewritten history to try to make the making of Mary Poppins into a more charitable scenario than it actually was in Saving Mr. Banks, and now they're really sticking it to the late author P.L. Travers (who hated the 1964 Mary Poppins film) by continuing the adventures of the character on the big screen yet again.

The new Poppins film will take place in Depression-era London, some 20 years after Disney’s classic Mary Poppins, and will draw from existing Poppins tales in the rest of author P.L. Travers’ 1934-1988 children’s book series. The practically perfect 1964 screen adaptation starring Julie Andrews pulled its story primarily from the first installment in Travers’ eight-book series; the new project (which is decidedly not being developed as a sequel) will explore Mary’s further adventures with the Banks family and beyond as illustrated by Travers’ seven additional novels.

So it's not a sequel, but it continues Mary's adventures with the Banks family? Riiiiiight. Give me a break, Disney. If that's truly what the story is going to be, just call it a freaking sequel and be done with it.

Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Hairspray, Smash) are writing new original songs and the film's score, while David Magee (Finding Neverland, Life of Pi) is writing the screenplay. I can't imagine anyone being able to capture the perfection of Andrews' performance in the role of Mary Poppins, but it seems like this is not a fever dream, so we'll be keeping you up to date with casting news as it comes in down the line.
