MAN OF STEEL Score To Be Composed by Hans Zimmer

$

The composer of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, Hans Zimmer, is officially set to score Zack Snyder's Superman movie Man of Steel. At one point it was rumored that the composer would take it on, but he denied any involvement with it at the time saying,

John Williams, the greatest living composer -- full stop. And that happens to be one of his greatest themes. So no. And I’m not thinking of rewriting Beethoven’s ninth either. It just sounds like a thankless task, you know? So that’s unequivocally a no. I have never spoken with Zack Snyder.

Well, it looks like he's now talked to Snyder, and is ready to get the work scoring the film. Zimmer has not only scored the Batman film trilogy, but he also worked on Inception, Rango, Sherlock Holmes, The Da Vinci Code and a ton of other films. The guy has proven to be a great composer, and even though it may never be as amazing as John Williams original Superman score, I'm sure it will end up being very impressive. I love what he did with The Dark Knight and Inception.

The movie hits theaters on June 14th, 2013, and stars Henry Cavill, Russell Crowe, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, and Christopher Meloni.

Do you think Zimmer will come up with a new badass Superman score?

BREAKING DAWN Part 2 - 10 Second Teaser

I honestly dont think we'll seen the end of Twilight franchise. I'm sure we might get a break from it for a couple of years, but eventually we will get another sequel or the whole series will get a complete reboot. There's just too much money to be made from this franchise, and I don't think Lionsgate is willing to give that up.

Here's a 10-second teaser that was released for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2. The full trailer for the film is set to be released on on Wednesday, so stay tuned for that if for some reason you're looking forward to seeing this movie.

The last chapter (we hope) in the Twilight franchise will be released in theatres on November 16th, 2012. It was directed by Bill Condon and stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Will you be seeing this movie... against your will?

First Details on Edwards and Bekmambetov's Robot Movie

Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) and Gareth Edwards (Monsters) have been working together on a post-human adventure. We heard that news over 2 years ago, but no other details of the project ever surfaced. Lucky for us, Bekmambetov dropped a little knowledge in an exclusive interview with io9

The script is finished. They are (the writer and Gareth) they are re-writing the second draft... It's called Forever. It's about the future, and robots. A story about a society of robots.

The movie sounds like it's going to star an all-robot cast, but it won't be entirely CG. When asked, Bekmambetov said,

No, no, no, no there's a boy. There are other characters. Humans are involved.

So that's all we know for now. Do these scant details pique your interest in the movie?

Are you excited to see Spider-Man finally take on The Lizard in The Amazing Spider-Man!? Sony Pictures has released another new TV spot called "Greatness," and a short low resolution film clip for the Marc Webb directed film. They do have a few bits of new footage.

The movie hits theaters on July 3rd! What's your excitement level for this movie? After seeing The Avengers I'd love to see what Joss Whedon would do with Spider-Man. Hell, I'd love to see what he would do with every superhero! I think he's going to be focusing his efforts on his original ideas as much as he can though, which is probably going to be even better! I kind of went off topic there, so yeah, The Amazing Spider-Man! Check out the new spot and clip below!

Here's the synopsis:

The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen) and Aunt May (Sally Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets.

As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

THE LONELIEST PLANET Trailer is an Eerie Journey

The new trailer for The Loneliest Planet has been released. Julia Loktev directed this film, which stars Gael Garcia Bernal and Hani Furstenberg as an engaged couple backpacking through the Caucasus Mountains of Georgia. Of course, things don't go as everyone had planned during the trip.

Here is the synopsis:

Alex (Gael Garcia Bernal) and Nica (Hani Furstenberg) are young, in love and engaged to be married. The summer before their wedding, they are backpacking in the Caucasus Mountains in Georgia. The couple hire a local guide to lead them on a camping trek, and the three set off into a stunning wilderness, a landscape that is both overwhelmingly open and frighteningly closed. Walking for hours, they trade anecdotes, play games to pass the time of moving through space. And then, a momentary misstep, a gesture that takes only two or three seconds, a gesture that's over almost as soon as it begins. But once it is done, it can't be undone. Once it is done, it threatens to undo everything the couple believed about each other and about themselves.

Check out the trailer:

Visit Apple to watch the trailer in HD. Loneliest Planet was well received at Sundance, and I can see why. The cinematography and the use of natural lighting make this film look really good. Bernal and Furstenberg look to both give powerful performances from what the trailer shows. Do you think you would like to see this movie in theaters?

Director Peter Jackson Announced on his Facebook page that he's wrapped production on his two Hobbit films! The film will move into the post-production process of filmmaking. Here's the note Jackson left with the picture above,

We made it! Shoot day 266 and the end of principal photography on The Hobbit. Thanks to our fantastic cast and crew for getting us this far, and to all of you for your support! Next stop, the cutting room. Oh, and Comic Con!
Cheers, Peter J

I'm sure we'll get to see a decent amount of footage from these films at Comic-Con. I'm also really interested in seeing the footage projected in 48 frames per second, so hopefully they will have some kind of event for that for us to attend. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be released on December 14th 2012, and The Hobbit: There and Back Again comes out on December 13th, 2013.

What are you excited about most from these Hobbit films?

Spider-Man's Tangled Web of Adaptations (Infographic)

As a superhero with a secret identity, it's inevitable that you're gonna have to spin a few lies to keep you and your loved ones safe. Peter Parker may have to work hard to manage his way through his web of life, juggling work, girlfriends, and oh yeah! saving New York City countless times. But we've gotta work just as hard to keep up with the many versions of his life, loves, and powers in the many incarnations that we've seen of the character since he was first introduced back in 1962.

Most gripes about Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man stem from a sincere love of the Raimi films that preceded it, but a lot of the complaints I've heard come from people who ONLY know those movie versions of Spider-Man, and don't take into account the rich (and ever changing) elements of Spidey's 50 year history that there are to draw upon.

If you're not a Spider-Man expert, there's no need to worry or feel that your complaints aren't valid if you truly didn't enjoy the new film. But if you don't wanna look completely uninformed, or at least get more of a sense of just how many versions of Spider-Man there have been, (so many that not all were able to be included in this infographic), you may want to use this infographic to brush up a little.

The graphic was created for BuzzFeed, and maps out the common love interests, powers, and other aspects of Peter Parker's life that are used, not used, or changed completely in the mainstream adaptations of the web slinger.

Of all the adaptations we've seen in the comics, cartoons, and films, which is your favorite version of Spider-Man?

The Stupendous Steampunk Spider-Man

Artist Denis Medri, has already blessed our lives with his medieval redesigns of The Avengers. Now we have the privilege of sharing his steampunk take on The Amazing Spider-Man. I know the eras don't match, but I could totally see this version of Peter Parker fighting alongside the Rescue Version of Captain America.

This version of Green Goblin makes a lot more sense than the Power Ranger looking shiny thing in Raimi's 2002 film. And a steam powered Doc Ock would be awesome to see on film. The only problem I'd see with Peter Parker being in that steampunk era his day job as a photographer is dealing with a camera back then would be a lot more time consuming.

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES - New Photos and Film Discussion

I enjoy reading everything I can on The Dark Knight Rises as long as it doesn't spoil anything for me, and so far there's been no solid spoilers. It great reading and hearing Christopher Nolan, Christian Bale, Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway discuss shooting the movie. They all do a great job of talking a lot about the movie while not revealing anything. Nolan, Bale and Hathaway recently did an interview with Hero Complex in which they do just that... sharing their experiences on the set of the final epic Batman movie.

Here's an interesting story that revolves around Hathaway and a scene being shot at the Senate House on the University of London campus.

Nolan was watching the action unfold as Bale finished an intense sequence with Morgan Freeman, Marion Cotillard and Hathaway. After the group had run through the scene multiple times, Nolan walked over to Hathaway with the upbeat posture of baseball manager taking the temperature of a jittery pitcher.

His advice? Take down the supervillain intonations creeping into the dialogue, Hathaway recalled later on set, still clad in her character’s skin-tight, black battle togs. “There’s no mustache-twirling in Gotham City,” she said. “That’s why what Chris does is really special and celebrated and successful. This is not making fun of the material. It’s serious.” (Hathaway is apparently a good listener, too, her wry and savvy version of Selena has franchise producer Emma Thomas especially eager for the release; the filmmakers heard the fanboy skepticism that greeted the casting. “I can’t wait for people to see what she’s done, she’s brilliant.”

I'm looking forward to Hathaway's performance. She's proved to be a solid actress, and I like what I've seen so far from her as Catwoman. Bale went on to discuss the tone of Nolan's film,

Bale agreed with Hathaway, adding that while Nolan’s Batman movies “have the roller-coaster element and the visual spectacle” required of any superhero film, they veer away from “the silly stuff.”

“The things he’s doing in these films, a lot of it I don’t get to see — I’m not aware of it — until I sit and watch the finished film. There’s so much there in script but it comes together when Chris editing it. He knows what it is going to be. That’s why he’s very decisive on the set. The pieces already fit together in his mind.”

Nolan reveals that his primary goal for his final installment of his Batman trilogy was to create “a unified statement, a real ending, a true conclusion.” Hero Complex then makes a point to say that "Nolan’s finale takes Batman and his on-screen mythology to a place it has never been before." Damn! That's exciting to hear! The director then goes on to talk a bit more about what his plans were for his third and final movie.

“We really wanted a cast of thousands, literally, and all of that for me is trying to represent the world in primarily visual and architectural terms,” Nolan said. “So the thematic idea is that the superficial positively is being eaten away from underneath; we tried to make that quite literal.”

I'm sure this last movie will leave fans wanting more. Unfortunately the next Batman films won't be directed by Nolan. I'm actually more excited to see what he's got cooking outside of the Batman universe. I'm looking forward to seeing what original ideas he plans on developing.

Check out a few more new photos from the set of the film below.

TAKEN 2 - New International Trailer

A new international trailer has been released for Liam Neeson's Taken 2, which is all about revenge. Neeson's retired CIA agent character Bryan Mills takes his wife (Famke Janssen) and daughter (Maggie Grace) on vacation to Istanbul where Mills and his wife are taken hostage by the father of a kidnapper Mills killed while rescuing his daughter. Mills daughter will help in rescuing them.

This trailer actually shows Neeson being kidnapped, and his daughter jumping from roof to roof. I love how all of a sudden she's got the skills needed to survive. It must run in the family.

The movie was directed by Olivier Megaton (ColombianaTransporter 3) from a script written by Robert Mark Kamen and the director of the first film Luc Besson. The movie will be released on October 5th, and it looks like it will be a fun action packed sequel.

We posted this on GameTyrant quite awhile ago. I've since kept a copy of this video on my iPhone, and show people whenever I get a chance. This has had over 12million views, but I have meet someone who has already seen this. So we have decided to leave no stone unturned and share this video with you. Why? Because you will laugh incredibly hard!!! I promise you that. As long as you have some type of knowledge, no matter how small, of the Pokémon universe you need to watch this.

Watch Pikachu let loose when a battle doesn't go his way. I think Venusaur steals the show here, but Pikachu brings the profanity laced parody home. Watch this PokeAwesome battle, and let us know if you think Pokémon would be more interesting if the Pokémon could speak more.

"Let the games begin!"

The Dark Knight Rises marketing blitz continues to flood the internet today, as Warner Bros. has released a great new IMAX trailer for the film with new footage and new bits of dialogue from Bane. With all of the stuff that's been released for this film so far, the studio has done a great job of keeping the story and key plot points under wraps.

The movie comes out on July 20th, the weekend after San Diego Comic-Con. Are you ready for the epic conclusion of The Dark Knight?

Here's the Synopsis:

It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN - Cool Lizard Concept Art!

Yesterday we brought you some cool concept art from The Amazing Spider-Man showing us a few different awesome looking costume designs that weren't used in the film. Today we've got some new art showing us some alternate designs for The Lizard. I thought the Lizard was a great villain for Spidey to take on, but I do think the creature design could have been a little better. Look over this concept art and let us know if you liked the design used in the movie, or if you like these better?

As you'll see below one of the early design was based on the look of actor Chris Cooper. The following Cooper lizard morphing images come from designer Aaron Sims. Makes me wonder if at one point they were actually looking to cast Copper in this role, which would have been amazing!

The other Lizard concept art you see are from Jerad S. Marantz.
