lego-jurassic-world-full-launch-trailer

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Games have released the full launch trailer the LEGO Jurassic World video game. If you enjoy playing these LEGO video games, this is going to be a must own, especially if you're a fan of the Jurassic Park franchise as well. What I like about these LEGO games is the fun and silly humor. What's cool about this one is that it encompasses all four of the Jurassic Park films.

Following the epic storylines of Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III, as well as the highly-anticipated Jurassic World, LEGO Jurassic World is the first videogame where players will be able to relive and experience all four Jurassic films.

The game will be available in June and released on all major game systems, including Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, and Windows PC.

David Fincher's HBO Series VIDEOSYNCRAZY Stops Production, May Not Move Forward

Fans of director David Fincher were excited about seeing his new HBO series, formerly called Video Synchronicity and recently retitled Videosyncrazy, but there's some bad news. According to Deadline, the show has halted production, and there's a chance it might not move forward at all.

The series was set in 1983 and followed a director with big ambitions to make a sci-fi feature film but who ended up directing music videos instead (sound familiar?). Production was midway through the fourth or fifth episode when HBO saw the completed first episodes and decided to press the pause button on the show. While there's a possibility it might be canceled altogether (apparently some cast members have been told it's not continuing), Deadline's reporter is hearing that Fincher has asked for some time to look at the cuts and see if he can tweak the overall direction of the show.

Sounds like a lot of hearsay, and since nothing is confirmed at this point, it's tough to know exactly what's going on behind the scenes. Still, I suppose we shouldn't be surprised if this show is eventually scrapped altogether. Meanwhile, Fincher still has a US remake of the British series Utopia in the works at HBO.

Lots of New Details Revealed For HALO 5: GUARDIANS

lots-of-new-details-revealed-for-halo-5-guardians

We have a ton of new details for Halo 5: Guardians to share with all of you thanks to The Guardian. They got a "first play" of the game, and it seems there's a lot of cool stuff in store for the fans. I've enjoyed playing this franchise since it was first introduced, and it's one of those franchises I don't think I'll ever get tired of.

The game is being developed by 343 Industries, and it sure to make a big splash at E3 later this month. Up until this point, this is really all we've known about it:

Peace is shattered when colony worlds are unexpectedly attacked. And when humanity's greatest hero goes missing, Spartan Locke is tasked with hunting the Master Chief and solving a mystery that threatens the entire galaxy.

Now we have a lot of other info for you to check out, some of which might be considered SPOILERS, so tread carefully as you read through the bullet points below (thanks to GamesRadar):

  • The game's set 8 months after the events of Halo 4
  • The campaign is definitely played from two different perspectives - Master Chief's Blue Team and Agent Locke's Fireteam Osiris
  • Each member of Blue Team has different skills (it's not clear if that's a narrative point or an actual game mechanic)
  • Fireteam Osiris is made up of Agent Locke, Kelly-087, Tanaka and Edward Buck (played by Nathan Fillion)
  • Playing campaign alone, you can order the rest of the Fireteam using a set of simple commands such as "go here, attack that, revive, drive vehicle"
  • Reviving other squad members offers you a reward (not clear what this is right now)
  • Fireteams have dynamic conversations, reacting to what's happening around you
  • The Covenant are an enemy once more, "resurgent and eager to reimpose themselves"
  • Promethean enemies return, and with new enemy types to battle
  • The Arbiter (who we already knew was returning) is fighting against the Covenant
  • Campaign Spartans are given extra abilities on top of the multipler ones (dashes, ground pounds etc.) - "revive" and "tracking"
  • Cortana returns in some respect, saying "The Reclamation has begun" in a cutscene that could be a hallucination or dream
  • Single player maps are bigger than usual, with alternate routes to take and multiple ways to complete objectives - offers options for co-op and replay value
  • Difficulty scales depending on the number of human players - the number of enemies, and their skill levels are affected
  • In co-op, players are encouraged to work in pairs going down different routes
  • Graphics-wise, it is "a huge step forward"
  • The campaign takes you onto Research and Development vessel, the Argent Moon
  • The soundtrack has been re-recorded at Abbey Road, with a piano motif added to the familiar main theme
  • There are 40,000 lines of dialogue in the game
  • Sound effects have been re-recorded in multiple locations
  • Locke has his own bombastic theme tune

The game is scheduled to be released on October 27th, and I'm excited to get my hands on it.

Mark Ruffalo and Jon Stewart Argue About If The Hulk Could Beat Superman in a Fight

While stopping by The Daily Show to promote his Sundance film Infinitely Polar Bear, actor Mark Ruffalo got into a brief, friendly argument with host Jon Stewart about whether or not The Hulk could beat Superman in a fight.

I don't know why Stewart thinks that "who could jump higher" is the same thing as "who would win in a fight," but regardless, I think it raises an interesting question for fans. Who do you think would win in an all-out brawl?

The exchange begins around the 2:30 mark in the video below:

Lucasfilm and ILM Developing Virtual Reality-Based "Experiential Entertainment" Set in The STAR WARS Universe

While attending the junket for Jurassic World, I had the chance to participate in a virtual reality experience using Oculus Rift technology for the first time. You can read all about that here, but though that particular experience didn't involve any actual interaction with the virtual environment (other than simply looking around), it was easy to see the possibilities for VR tech in the future.

ILM has been on the forefront of technology since the company was founded, so it's no surprise that they're developing some VR-based "experiential entertainment" that will allow audiences the opportunity to interact with characters and settings from the Star Wars universe. THR points out that Lucasfilm and ILM have formed the ILM Experience Lab (ILMxLAB) to develop and create "virtual reality, augmented reality, real-time cinema, theme park entertainment and narrative-based experiences for future platforms."

Pretty exciting stuff. The plan is for the company to to unveil more details later in the year, so keep your eyes peeled. Take a look at the video below:

FULL HOUSE Mashed Up With GTA V is a Wacked Out Sitcom

With all this talk about Full House revivals and the proliferation of GTA V mods in the past few months, it was only a matter of time before the two properties were inevitably smashed together. And the results are about as horrifying as you'd imagine: the imagery of the family-friendly opening sequence of the show, which conjures warm memories for fans of a certain age, is twisted into acts of violence and absurdity, such as people being run down by an above-ground subway. And there's definitely way more sexual stuff going on in this universe, too. Check it out for yourselves below, and see the side-by-side comparison here:

STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE — New Intel on Plot, Characters, Tone, Setting, and More

star-wars-rogue-one-new-info-on-plot-aliens-setting-and-more

Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One is an exciting film project Lucasfillm is developing with director Gareth Edwards. The only official story detail we have for the movie is that it will focus on a band of resistance fighters who "unite for a daring mission to steal the Death Star plans."

As far as casting goes, so far the actors involved include Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelsohn, Diego Luna, Sam Clafin, and Riz Ahmed. To catch up on any Rogue One-related news before we move on to the new information, click here.

The following intel comes from JoBlo.com. It offers a little more information on the plot, setting, theme, aliens, droids, vehicles, and more. The details are minor, and there is nothing majorly spoilery here, but I will throw out a SPOILER warning for those of you who are super sensitive about that stuff.

Here's what they reveal:

  • Definitely set during the "Dark Time" of the Empire (between Episodes III and IV)
  • Being coined as "darker and grittier" than any other Star Wars film to date
  • The film seems to be aiming to be much like an old school war film; Think Hamburger Hill meets Star Wars
  • All the Jedi are said to be in hiding; expect this story to leave them in the background
  • Stormtroopers have same armor as they do in the original films (i.e. episodes IV - VI)
  • Lots of alien life forms, Mon Calamari among them
  • New droids and aliens will be introduced. Kind of a no-brainer, but just so you know it's not just a bunch of rebels
  • At-Ats, X-Wings, Y-wings, At-Sts are said to be present.
  • Implied that some of the film will take place on Yavin-4; a lot of armies in the jungle and various battlefield locations
  • Looks like a new droid will be part of the band of rebels attempting to steal the Death Star plans
  • Felicity Jones is seen dressed as a rebel soldier ready for battle; expect her to get her hands dirty in this one

I like what I'm reading, especially that this will be the darkest film in the Star Wars saga so far. I also think its perfect that they are looking to capture that old school war film vibe. What do you think about the direction they are taking with this film?

Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One is set to hit theaters on December 16th, 2016.

When Mike Mignola introduced the world to Hellboy almost 25 years ago, the character looked a little different than how we recognize him now. He has evolved over the years, but it all started with a sketch that Mignola whipped up at a comic convention in 1991.

Mondo has taken that sketch a created an awesome statue that is a must-own for any fan of the character. The figure is available in two different versions. The first is a red paint-scheme designed by original Hellboy colorist Dave Stewart, which goes for $200. The second is a Black & White illustration-like paint scheme, which is exclusive to the Mondo site and goes for $225.

You can see the original sketch below, along with more photos of the statue. If you want to pre-order one, click here.

Asa Butterfield Reportedly NOT Playing Spider-Man For Marvel and Sony

It's with a heavy heart I report that Asa Butterfield (Ender's Game) is no longer in the running to play Spider-Man/Peter Parker for Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures. He was my favorite choice.

According to Jeff Sneider, reporter for The Wrap, there are only three contenders left in the Spider-Man casting battle. Those are Tom Holland (The Impossible), Charlie Plummer (Boardwalk Empire), and Matthew Lintz (Kill the Messenger).

There's no one here I'm really that excited about. Apparently casting has been stalled because Sony and Marvel can't agree on the casting. Snieder says Marvel likes Plummer in the role and and Sony likes Holland.

The actor who will play Spider-Man is due on the set of Captain America: Civil War this July, so a decision is going to be made soon. I wouldn't be surprised if Marvel talked Sony into casting Plummer. They are the studio with the stronger track record, and they've done a great job casting the other big roles in the MCU, so it seems like they know what they're doing.

Captain America: Civil War hits theaters May 6th, 2016. Out of these three young actors, who would you choose?

pixar-reveals-the-good-dinosaur-cast-and-character-descriptions

Disney has officially revealed the voice cast of Pixar's upcoming animated feature film The Good Dinosaur. They also offered up a brief description of each of the main characters in the story. Earlier this month a teaser trailer was released for the film, and it gave fans a first look at what he can expect to see. The movie was directed by first-time feature film director Peter Sohn, and he had this to say in a statement:

“We were lucky to work with a number of incredible pros along the way and our story ultimately led us to this amazing and talented group. We’re all taking this journey with Arlo, and it’s been a privilege to see these performers bring our characters to life.”

The Good Dinosaur cast includes:

-Raymond Ochoa (NBC’s “The Night Shift,” TNT’s “Rizzoli & Isles,” Disney’s A Christmas Carol) provides the voice of an Apatosaurus named Arlo.
-Jeffrey Wright (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – parts I & II, HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire”) was tapped as the voice of Poppa, Arlo’s father.
-Steve Zahn (Captain Fantastic, Ridiculous Six, Rescue Dawn, Mad Dogs) provides the voice of a pterodactyl named Thunderclap.
-AJ Buckley (TNT’s “Murder in the First,” FX’s “Justified”) voices a T-Rex called Nash.
-Anna Paquin (HBO’s “True Blood”) is the voice of T-Rex Ramsey.
-Sam Elliot (FX’s “Justified,” I’ll See You In My DreamsGrandma) was called on as the voice of a tough T-Rex named Butch.
-Frances McDormand (HBO’s “Olive Kitteridge,” Fargo) was tapped as the voice of Momma, Arlo’s mother.
-Marcus Scribner (ABC’s “black•ish”) voices Arlo’s brother Buck.
-Jack Bright (Monsters University) provides the voice of Arlo’s unlikely human friend, Spot.

The film was previously set to feature the voice talents of Lucas Neff, John Lithgow, Bill Hader, and Neil Patrick Harris, but it looks like they are no longer involved with the project. Here's the synopsis:

The Good Dinosaur asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? Pixar Animation Studios takes you on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend. While traveling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of.

Director Peter Sohn made his directorial debut with the Pixar animated short film Partly Cloudy. He has worked in the art, story, and animation departments, and also has provided the voice of the characters of Emile in Ratatouille and Scott “Squishy” Squibbles from Monsters University.

The Good Dinosaur comes out on November 25th.

JUSTICE LEAGUE: GODS AND MONSTERS CHRONICLES — Wonder Woman Impressions

This was a bit of a mixed bag for me.

It was the one I was most looking forward to, and yet because of that, it had the most room to disappoint. Let's start with the positives. I absolutely love how confident they made Wonder Woman (they never refer to her as Diana, so I don’t want to make assumptions), and she should be, because she is one of deadliest people in the world. Her power set has been tweaked, as it appears — possibly by way of motherbox — that she can duck into and out of boom tubes at will. She’s beautiful, powerful, and has a really stylish costume. Alll good things.

And yet, for some reason, she is attracted to Steve McToolbagTrevor.

(Offscreen) I don’t think that's his name...

WELL, IT SHOULD BE!

She literally just saved you from a gunshot to the head. Don’t get me wrong, I get not wanting to be saved and rom-com banter, but he really just came off as a sexist tool. I did enjoy the scene where she leaned against the wall, letting him fend for himself. Yes Trevor, the giant robot woman can crush everything in her path, but some bullets from your twin automatic rifles will stop it. Good job Steve, good job.

Look, I’m not trying to be a prude here, and I have no problem with Wonder Woman being confident and the aggressor in the relationship (towards the end anyway), far from it. I just couldn't help but think “really? him?” after the credits rolled.

I’m looking forward to seeing more of Wonder Woman in the full movie, as I really enjoyed this take on her character I just hope her time in the movie is not completely wasted on some bland romance with a tool who doesn’t deserve her.

Quentin Tarantino’s THE HATEFUL EIGHT Release Date Set

quentin-tarantinos-the-hateful-eight-release-date-set

The Weinstein Company has announced that Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight will get a limited release on Christmas Day this year. It will then then get a wide release two weeks later on January 8th. As we've already heard, the movie will be released in 70mm. This will make the widest release in that format in over 20 years. The press release said,

“Beloved by filmmakers and cinephiles for its wide-scope and high-resolution image quality, 70mm stock captures nearly twice the landscape of the more common 35mm and digital styles. Because of its unique quality and its importance to the art of filmmaking, Quentin, TWC and a number of other major Hollywood directors and studios have negotiated deals with Kodak to continue production of 70mm and other film formats despite their higher costs and complexity of use.”

I don't recall ever watching a movie in 70mm, so it looks like this is going to be my first. That's exciting for me! We've already seen a teaser trailer and several photos from the film, which is currently in production. I've liked what I've seen and heard about the film, and I can't wait to see more.

The film stars Samuel L. Jackson as Major Marquis Warren, “The Bounty Hunter”; Kurt Russell as John Ruth, “The Hangman”; Jennifer Jason Leigh as Daisy Domergue, “The Prisoner”; Walton Goggins as Chris Mannix, “The Sheriff”; Demian Bichir as Bob, “The Mexican”; Tim Roth as Oswald Mobray, “The Little Man”; Michael Madsen as Joe Gage, “The Cow Puncher”; Bruce Dern as General Sandy Smithers, “The Confederate”; and Channing Tatum also stars in an unspecified role.  Here's the synopsis:

In THE HATEFUL EIGHT, set six or eight or twelve years after the Civil War, a stagecoach hurtles through the wintry Wyoming landscape. The passengers, bounty hunter John Ruth (Russell) and his fugitive Daisy Domergue (Leigh), race towards the town of Red Rock where Ruth, known in these parts as “The Hangman,” will bring Domergue to justice. Along the road, they encounter two strangers: Major Marquis Warren (Jackson), a black former union soldier turned infamous bounty hunter, and Chris Mannix (Goggins), a southern renegade who claims to be the town’s new Sheriff. Losing their lead on the blizzard, Ruth, Domergue, Warren and Mannix seek refuge at Minnie’s Haberdashery, a stagecoach stopover on a mountain pass. When they arrive at Minnie’s, they are greeted not by the proprietor but by four unfamiliar faces. Bob (Bichir), who’s taking care of Minnie’s while she’s visiting her mother, is holed up with Oswaldo Mobray (Roth), the hangman of Red Rock, cow-puncher Joe Gage (Madsen), and Confederate General Sanford Smithers (Dern). As the storm overtakes the mountainside stopover, our eight travelers come to learn they may not make it to Red Rock after all…

Disney Interactive has revealed that some of the characters from Star Wars Rebels will be joining Disney Infinity 3.0: Star Wars. They even released some images giving us our first at the characters — Kanan Jarrus, Ezra Bridger, Sabine Wren, and Zeb Orrelios.

Star Wars Rebels is part of the “Twilight of the Republic” play set which is an all-new, original chapter of the Star Wars Saga, set in the Episodes I-III timeline. There is also “Rise Against the Empire,” which is set in the timeline of the original trilogy. You can see several images from those play sets here. There's a third play set coming as well later this year, which is based on the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Disney Infinity 3.0: Star Wars comes to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Wii U, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 in the Fall. I'm going to be giving Disney and Lucasfilm a lot of my money when these play sets are released.

Teenage Geek Girl Attends Prom in ARROW Inspired Dress

Teenage geek girl Danielle Taylor didn't care for her high school's prom theme of "Candy Land" this year. So what did she do? She made up her own theme, and it's definitely more badass. She got creative and put together an Arrow inspired prom dress, which as you can see turned out perfectly cool. She ended up sharing these photos with Arrow star Stephen Amell, saying,

"Hey Stephen Amell! I wanted to share these pictures with you. I went to prom as The Green Arrow because my school's prom theme was awful, it was called Sweet Dreams (or Candy Land). So being the nerdy person I am, I designed my prom outfit after the Arrow, and said, "Prom, you have failed this high-school". (*EDIT, there seems to be many misunderstandings, I didn't actually make the dress, I just came up with the concept of what I wanted it to look like, and then proceeded to find what I needed to execute the vision I had for it, Thank you everyone so very much for all the wonderful and kind comments!!) That's me in the Green dress in the pictures, and then my friend Grace in the top middle, who encouraged me to dress like this (she's also a big fan of the show!), and my friend Ashlyn in the other pictures with me, as The Flash! I got a lot of stares at prom, and then the day after I heard people asking other people if they saw the girl with the hood, and then proceeding to ask who it was! Little did they know that it was me. So a hood really does hide your identity! lol!
Look forward to seeing you and everyone else at Dragon Con!

Of course, being the awesome guy that he is, Amell responded,

"You got a lot of stares because you both looked tremendous. Great dress. Super creative. xo"

As a father of three geeky girls of my own, I would totally support them if they ever decided to do something like this for prom one day.

Will Spider-Man Have Multiple Costumes in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR?

,CaptainThere have been a lot of rumors and speculation regarding what Tom Holland's Spider-Man suit will look like in Captain America: Civil War. Just yesterday a photo started making the rounds on the internet of a homemade-looking suit, but it looks like that turned out to be fake.

We now have some more rumored information regarding Spider-Man's costume in Captain America: Civil War. The news comes from Heroic Hollywood, whose sources tell them that there will be not just one but two new Spider-Man suits in the film.

The following information includes possible SPOILERS regarding the suits:

The report says that in the beginning of the film we will see the homemade version of the suit. that has been rumored. You can see a piece of awesome fan art to show you an artist's rendering of what that might look like here.

The second version of the suit will come into play near the end of the movie. It will be given to Peter Parker by Tony Stark. That's the suit that will feature the traditional blue and red color scheme.

It makes completely sense that Stark would be the one to give Spidey his first badass professional costume in the MCU. It's also not hard to believe that Spider-Man would have two suits in a movie. Iron Man has rocked multiple armors in a single film, and Captain America has rocked two different uniforms in a single film as well.

This also gives credence to the reports that Spider-Man will play a bigger role in Civil War than previously thought. So, Spider-Man will start off the film with his teenage homemade costume, and end with a new badass uniform created by Tony Stark. It's the suit that Stark gives him that he will wear in his solo film.

This is all just a rumor for now, but knowing where Heroic Hollywood gets their intel, there's definitely some truth to what they are reporting. What do you think about the latest Spider-Man rumor?

Captain America: Civil War picks up where “Avengers: Age of Ultron” left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

Captain America: Civil War opens up in theaters on May 6th, 2016, and Spider-Man solo movie comes out on July 28th, 2017.
