Batman Will Fight Superman With a [SPOILER] in BATMAN V SUPERMAN

batman-will-take-down-superman-with-a-spoiler-in-batman-v-superman

Some new information has surfaced for Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and it involves how Batman will take Superman down in a fight. If you don't want to know how he does this, then I suggest you not read any further.

SPOILERS AHEAD:

The following information comes from Heroic Hollywood, and it all starts with something that we've seen Batman holding in the teaser trailer that was released for the movie. You can see an image of that above. It looks like he's holding some kind of rifle, but what apparently, it is really a kryptonite-laced spear! The site says:

"I won't say how he gets his hands on kryptonite or how he uses the weapon against Superman. Let's leave some stuff to the imagination."

This is a rumor until it's confirmed, but of course, Batman would use a kryptonite-laced spear! He'd be stupid not to against the Man of Steel. Below you'll find some fan art by Anas Riasat that shows Batman using some kryptonite-laced daggers while fighting Superman. Looks like Superman is getting his ass kicked!

It's going to be fun to see how the fight scenes between these two heroes turn out in Snyder's film.

New Trailer for VACATION - The Griswolds Embark on a New Adventure

new-tailer-for-vacation-the-griswolds-embark-on-a-new-adventure

Rusty Girswold is all grown up and hitting the road with his family on a trip to Wally World. He wants to follow in his father's footsteps and, for some reason, try to relive the wacky adventure that he embarked on when his dad Clark took him on a cross country trek to America’'s “favorite family fun park.”

This new trailer features some funny new footage, but it's tamer than the previously released red-band trailer. The sequel/reboot of the classic '80s comedy franchise was directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein.

The movie stars Ed Helms as Rusty; Christina Applegate as Rusty's wife; Chris Hemsworth in the role of Stone Crandall, Rusty’’s irritatingly successful brother-in-law; Charlie Day, who plays a river rafting guide; and Skyler Gisondo and Steele Stebbins, who play Rusty’’s sons, James and Kevin. And there's Chevy Chase and Beverly D’’Angelo who reprise their roles as Clark and Ellen Griswold.

The comedy will be released in theater on July 29th.

Exhilarating MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - ROGUE NATION Trailer and 6 Character Posters

We’ve got an awesome, fun new full trailer for Christopher McQuarrie’s Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation for you to check out, along with six character posters from the film. I’ve enjoyed all of the films that have been released for this franchise, and I think this next chapter looks like it’s going to be a very cool sequel. I just watched Mission: Impossible III again recently, and I forgot how freakin’ good it was. The first one in the series is still my favorite, though.

Here’s the synopsis for Rogue Nation:

With the IMF now disbanded and Ethan Hunt out in the cold, a new threat -- called the Syndicate -- soon emerges. The Syndicate is a network of highly skilled operatives who are dedicated to establishing a new world order via an escalating series of terrorist attacks. Faced with what may be the most impossible mission yet, Ethan gathers his team and joins forces with Ilsa Faust, a disavowed British agent who may or may not be a member of this deadly rogue nation.

The film stars Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Sean Harris, and Alec Baldwin, some of whom you’ll see in the character poster under the trailer.

This trailer will self-destruct ten second after you watch it. Paramount Pictures will release the Bad Robot produced film on July 31st.

Cartoon-Style Evolution of HARLEY QUINN by Jeff Victor

We've got another piece of "Evolution" art from Jeff Victor, and this one has got to be my favorite as it features the evolution of Harley Quinn. The character was introduced to the world in 1992 when she first appeared in Batman: The Animated series and became a fan favorite almost instantly. Audiences just seem to love her style, humor, and insanity. She's set to make her live action debut in David Ayer's Suicide Squad, and she'll probably be the best part of that film. If you want to buy a print of this, click here.

James Wan Officially Directing ROBOTECH

Yesterday we learned that James Wan will be directing Aquaman for Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment. That’s not the only movie he’s attached to direct, though! THR is reporting that Wan is also officially taking on the challenge of bringing Robotech to the big screen.

Back in April, it was reported that he was in talks with Sony Pictures to take the project. In that initial report, we learned that the studio was willing to work around whatever projects he ended up attaching himself to, so that allowed him to do Aquaman as well. Now that the deal is closed, I couldn’t be more excited for this live-action version of the classic 1980s anime.

I freakin’ loved this animated series when I was growing up, and I trust that Wan will deliver a movie that other fans of the franchise will love. The movie has been in development for years, I guess it was just waiting for the right person for the job.

Robotech takes place at a time when Earth has developed giant robots from the technology on an alien spacecraft that crashed on a South Pacific island. Mankind is forced to use the technology to fend off an alien invasion, with the fate of the human race ending up in the hands of two young pilots.

The movie is being developed by producers Gianni Nunnari and Mark Canton from a script written by Michael Gordon. All three of them worked together on Zack Snyder's 300 films. Unfortunately they also worked on films such as The Spiderwick Chronicles, Fame, Immortals, From Dusk Till Dawn 3, G.I Joe: The Rise of Cobra, and lots of other mediocre-to-bad movies.

Regardless of what the producers have worked on before, hopefully Wan can pull this film together right and make sure the fans get what they want out of it. Wan has the talent to do it right if the producers let him do his thing.

Chris Pratt Cried After Learning GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2 Details

Yesterday we learned that writer and director James Gunn completed the first draft of his script for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy 2. When Chris Pratt learned what the story of the sequel entails, he got very emotional.

When the soundtrack for the upcoming film was brought up in an interview with Digital Spy, the actor talked about Gunn’s story ideas and admits that they caused tears to well. Here’s what he said:

"We've talked a little. I know some of the songs that are going to be on Awesome Mix Vol 2.  All I can tell you because - obviously, I'm not allowed to say anything, nor would I want to because it would be like telling a kid what's under the tree before Christmas morning; I would encourage people not to poke holes in the paper and peek, allow yourself the 'Christmas morning'.  What I will say is that [Gunn's] pitch and his ideas legitimately put tears in my eyes.  It is so good, it's so good.  I can not wait to get started on it and I can not wait for people to see what he's going to pull off with this second movie. It's so big and so good. From what I understand, Marvel [heard Gunn's pitch] and they said nothing. [It] was that perfect. There was no micromanaging of the idea. They just love it so much they didn't have any notes for it. It's going to be remarkable."

We’ve got a long way to go before we find out what exactly Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will be about, but I can’t wait to see where Gunn takes these characters next.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is set to open in theaters on May 5th, 2017.

Trailer for WB’s Animated Film BATMAN UNLIMITED: MONSTER MAYHEM

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has released the first trailer for their upcoming animated feature-length film Batman Unlimited: Monster Mayhem. It looks like a fun story, but I’m not a fan of the animation style. It looks like it done very, very cheaply. This is the worst animation I’ve seen from Warner Bros. Animation in a long time. They must have rushed this one out on a very small budget. Maybe the kids will enjoy it. Here’s the synopsis:

It's Halloween in Gotham. To celebrate, the city's spookiest villains (Scarecrow, Clayface, Solomon Grundy and Silver Banshee) have all joined forces and gone on a crime spree. Batman swings into action to stop them, joined by Green Arrow, Cyborg, Nightwing and Red Robin. But it seems that the fiends are working for the clown prince of crime himself: The Joker, who has a surprise of his own - A computer virus that makes all technology laugh and obey his every command! Can the heroes stop the virus before it turns all of Gotham into Jokertown? Will Batman find a way to beat the Joker now that his trusty gadgets and vehicles have succumbed to "DIGITAL LAUGHTER?"

The all-new original animated feature-length film will be released on Digital HD starting August 4th and on Blu-ray Combo Pack & DVD on August 18th, 2015.

The first two trailers for Everest have been released, and the movie tells the intense true-life story of a group of climbers who take on the challenge of reaching the summit of one of the highest mountains in the world. The trailers are heart-pounding, and while I was watching them I was feeling the anxiety.

Good hell, I don't have it in me to attempt anything like this! It looks like these guys went through such a terrifying experience, I wouldn't want to go through what they went through. It looks like a great movie though!

Inspired by the incredible events surrounding an attempt to reach the summit of the world’s highest mountain, EVEREST documents the awe-inspiring journey of two different expeditions challenged beyond their limits by one of the fiercest snowstorms ever encountered by mankind. Their mettle tested by the harshest elements found on the planet, the climbers will face nearly impossible obstacles as a lifelong obsession becomes a breathtaking struggle for survival.

The movie was directed by Baltasar Kormákur (2 Guns, Contraband), and it has an amazing cast that includes Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Robin Wright, Michael Kelly, Sam Worthington, Keira Knightley, Emily Watson, and Jake Gyllenhaal. The movie is set to be released on September 18th. Below you'll find the domestic and international trailers for the film.

First Trailer For MACBETH, Starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard

Since I wasn't forced to read it in high school, I've never made time to sit down and read Shakespeare's Macbeth, so I have absolutely no idea what's happening in this new trailer for the film adaptation. But director Justin Kurzel has put such an emphasis on creating striking, memorable images here that I feel like this might be a must-see film for me, just from a visual perspective alone.

Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard star, and just from seeing a few shots in this trailer, it looks like Kurzel is definitely the right person to finally bring Assassin's Creed to the big screen (a movie which will reunite him with his two lead actors). I'm interested in hearing what the Shakespeare buffs among you have to say about this trailer. Does this look like an interesting adaptation? Let us know below.

Macbeth hits UK theaters on October 2nd and will be released in the United States later this year.

Macbeth is the story of a fearless warrior and inspiring leader brought low by ambition and desire. A thrilling interpretation of the dramatic realities of the times and a reimagining of what wartime must have been like for one of Shakespeare’s most famous and compelling characters, a story of all-consuming passion and ambition set in war torn 11th Century Scotland.

Ron Perlman is Rallying Support For HELLBOY 3

Guillermo del Toro's Hellboy franchise is something that fans would love to see continue. We all want to see that long-awaited Hellboy 3 film get made, and now actor Ron Perlman is trying to rally the troops for support! The actor really wants to close out the trilogy that they started.

Del Toro has tried for years to get this movie off the ground, but he hasn't been able to find a studio willing to give him the budget he needs to make it. I'd like to think that this push from Perlman would get the studios hyped up to do the movie, but with the accountants running Hollywood these days, it might be hard.

Here's the tweet that started the movement:

Actor Doug Jones then threw in his support:

The last thing we heard about the film came from from Del Toro last year when he said:

"Well, you know, we don’t have that movie on the horizon. But the idea for it was to have Hellboy finally come to terms with the fact that his destiny, his inevitable destiny, is to become the beast of the Apocalypse, and having him and Liz face the sort of, that part of his nature, and he has to do it, in order to be able to ironically vanquish the foe that he has to face in the 3rd film. He has to become the beast of the Apocalypse to be able to defend humanity, but at the same time he becomes a much darker being. It's a very interesting ending to the series, but I don’t think it will happen."

He then explained why the movie might never happen:

"I think that the first movie made its budget back, and a little bit of profit, but then it was very very big on video and DVD. The story repeated itself with the second already, it made its money back at the box office, but a small margin of profit in the release of the theatrical print, but was very very big on DVD and video. Sadly now from a business point of view all the studios know is that you don't have that safety net of the DVD and video, so they view the project as dangerous….Creatively, I would love to make it. Creatively. But it is proven almost impossible to finance. Not from MY side, but from the studio side. If I was a multimillionaire, I would finance it myself, but I spend all my money on rubber monsters.

That doesn't spark a lot of confidence.

Disney Planning Live-Action Film Based on NIGHT ON BALD MOUNTAIN

disney-planning-live-action-film-based-on-night-on-bald-mountain

Disney is taking the coolest and darkest sequence from their 1940 animated classic Fantasia, “Night on Bald Mountain,” and adapting it into a live-action film.

The "Night on Bald Mountain" segment of the film revolved around a nightmarishly creepy dark winged and horned creature with yellow glowing eyes. The demon seems to rule the night over a town and raises spirits from the dead to enjoy a night of mayhem, dancing, haunting, and flying through the air. As the sun rises, the ghostly madness fades away.

This first time I saw this sequence I was overcome with fear and excitement. I had never seen anything like this before. I had never seen any kind of horror animation before, and when I was a kid it fascinated me. Of course the music played a big part in scaring the hell out of me. It was created by Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky, and arranged for the film by Leopold Stokowski.

Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless will write the script for the project, which is currently in early development at the studio. I hope they do a better job with this than what they did with Dracula Untold. There’s no information on what the story will entail, but you can see what’s inspiring it in the video I included below.

This could make for an epically awesome movie. Seeing those haunting visuals brought to life in a live action movie could look absolutely stunning. Hopefully they bring on a great director who has the talent to give us something amazing.

Sweded Shot-For-Shot Recreation of JURASSIC WORLD Trailer

I'm always impressed with the creative ways people come up with to "swede" trailers and movies. Those kids who created a shot-for-shot remake of Raiders of the Lost Ark were likely big inspirations for those who love doing this, and the team at Cinefix regularly produces their own recreations of popular movies and trailers. Their latest video takes aim at the trailer for Jurassic World, director Colin Trevorrow's upcoming sequel that takes us back to Isla Nublar for a new adventure featuring more dinosaur carnage. I especially love the appearance of Rex from Toy Story in this sweded trailer. Check it out below:

Marvel's Phase 2 of Netflix Could Include Punisher, Blade, Ghost Rider and More

$

Daredevil ended up being a huge hit for Marvel and Netflix, and fans are excitedly anticipating the future of their partnership and the shows they're developing for fans. Apparently the series did better than anyone at Marvel and Netflix expected. Right now AKA Jessica Jones is in production with Luke Cage and Iron Fist currently in development. This first phase of these Netflix series will lead to The Defenders, which is sure to be awesome.

Thanks to Heroic Hollywood we have some details on what Marvel is looking at doing for Phase II of their Netflix series plan. On top of the characters that make up The Defenders team, we will also see the addition of Elektra, which has been rumored lately. That's not the best news though, because according to the report, the studio is toying with the idea of bringing in characters like Punisher, Blade, and Ghost Rider. It would be amazing to see these characters come into this world! But there are risks to including them. The site explains:

Not only are they darker and more violent, but two of them require supernatural elements in order to tell their stories. The inclusion of these characters could send Netflix over to the goofy side, which is something they’re very afraid of Ghost Rider would also rely on CGI too much for the studio’s taste.
It would also be difficult to incorporate the stories of these characters smoothly. Blade and Punisher are perceived to be rather one-note to carry a series on their own. The heavy level of violence is also perceived to be a risk. They want a “hard PG-13,” instead of an R. And since none of the Defenders actively kill, throwing Punisher into the mix could be a challenge.

Marvel has to find a way to bring Punisher to life again. Yeah, he's a hard-R character, but that's why building a Netflix series around him is perfect. If done right it would be a huge hit with the fans just like Daredevil. I'm not sure what the big issue is, especially with how dark Daredevil was.

The report speculates that we'll likely see a cameo and backdoor pilot for some of these characters first. If those were to go over well with fans, it could lead to a full-on series for them.

On top of all that, the studio is working very hard on bringing in the film actors to make cameos in these series. We've already heard rumors of Doctor Strange appearing in Iron Fist, but the powers at be are trying to find a way to get Benedict Cumberbatch to appear in the Defenders series. It's not a done deal, but that's what they are pushing for.

That's not all though! The studio also hopes that they will be able to develop a movie or mini-series on Netflix that would feature characters like Hawkeye or Black Widow. A project like this could feature both TV and movie characters, and could serve as a bridge between the two Marvel worlds.

As for non-Netflix series there are other shows in early development for titles that include Cloak and Dagger, Ms. Marvel, and a Hulk prequel. Things are starting to get even more and more interesting on the Marvel TV front.

We'll keep you updated on additional info as it continues to roll in.

Michael Bay To Direct Sci-Fi Film TIME SALVAGER

$

Maybe this will provide a brief respite from the onslaught of Transformers movies that are inevitably coming our way.

TheWrap has learned that Michael Bay is attached to direct a film adaptation of Wesley Chu’s science fiction novel Time Salvager for Paramount, although there's no official timetable set for when filming would begin. Here's the official synopsis of the book from Amazon:

Convicted criminal James Griffin-Mars is no one's hero. In his time, Earth is a toxic, abandoned world and humans have fled into the outer solar system to survive, eking out a fragile, doomed existence among the other planets and their moons. Those responsible for delaying humanity's demise believe time travel holds the key, and they have identified James, troubled though he is, as one of a select and expendable few ideally suited for the most dangerous job in history.

James is a chronman, undertaking missions into Earth's past to recover resources and treasure without altering the timeline. The laws governing use of time travel are absolute; break any one of them and, one way or another, your life is over. Most chronmen never reach old age; the stress of each jump through time, compounded by the risk to themselves and to the future, means that many chronmen rapidly reach their breaking point, and James Griffin-Mars is nearing his.

On a final mission that is to secure his retirement, James meets Elise Kim, an intriguing scientist from a previous century, who is fated to die during the destruction of an oceanic rig. Against his training and his common sense, and in violation of the chronmen's highest law, James brings Elise back to the future with him, saving her life, but turning them both into fugitives. Remaining free means losing themselves in the wild and poisonous wastes of Earth, somehow finding allies, and perhaps discovering what hope may yet remain for humanity's home world.

Sounds like it has some hints of Looper in there, but with a love story angle that could easily be the film's emotional hook. Bay seems to have a thing for time travel right now, having recently produced Project Almanac. The director is currently working on a Benghazi film called 13 Hours, and he's rumored to be directing Transformers 5 as soon as that wraps up, so there's the possibility this will be his next project after that. Time Salvager (the book) hits shelves on July 7th.

'70s SUPER FRIENDS TV Intro Recreated With Live-Action Footage From SUPERMAN, BATMAN, and More

Here's a fun little recreation of the 1970s Super Friends animated TV show that uses live-action clips from Richard Donner's Superman: The Movie, the Adam West Batman TV series, the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman TV show, and the live-action Scooby Doo films. If Scooby Doo and his pals seem a little out of place, that's because those characters are used as replacements for Wendy, Marvin, and Wonder Dog, the audience surrogates of the original show whose creation was reportedly inspired by the Scooby gang. I love that Flash Gordon is used as Aquaman in this video - can you imagine how different James Wan's upcoming movie would be with Sam Jones as the lead instead of Jason Momoa?

Intense New Trailer For THE WALK Made My Palms Sweat

Robert Zemeckis' upcoming film The Walk looks freakin' amazing. This latest trailer for the film was so intense that while I watched it, my palms started sweating. I do have a fear of heights though, and there are a couple points in the film where I started to get that feeling of vertigo. Especially in that opening shot. Good grief, this movie is going to be extremely intense.

I'm a big fan of the films Zemeckis has made over the years, and it looks like he did an incredible job bringing this story to life. Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars as real-life daredevil Philippe Petit in the film, who in 1974 walked the void between the World Trade Center towers in New York City on a wire.

The movie also stars Ben Kingsley, Charlotte Le Bon, and James Badge Dale. Here's the synopsis:

Twelve people have walked on the moon, but only one man – Philippe Petit  – has ever, or will ever, walk in the immense void between the World Trade Center towers. Guided by his real-life mentor, Papa Rudy (Ben Kingsley), and aided by an unlikely band of international recruits, Petit and his gang overcome long odds, betrayals, dissension and countless close calls to conceive and execute their mad plan. Robert Zemeckis, the director of such marvels as Forrest Gump, Cast Away, Back to the Future, Polar Express and Flight, again uses cutting edge technology in the service of an emotional, character-driven story. With innovative photorealistic techniques and IMAX 3D wizardry, The Walk is true big-screen cinema, a chance for moviegoers to viscerally experience the feeling of reaching the clouds. The film, a PG-rated, all-audience entertainment for moviegoers 8 to 80, unlike anything audiences have seen before, is a love letter to Paris and New York City in the 1970s, but most of all, to the Towers of the World Trade Center.

The Walk will be released in theaters on October 2nd. Now hold on tight and watch the trailer.
