Advancer Technologies has released a video and step-by-step instructions on how to make your own Wolverine claws that extend and retract when you flex! This is done with a technology they are developing called MyoWare. They call them "Bionic Claws" so they don't get sued, but that doesn't stop them from playing X-Men music during the video though! Here's the description that came along with the video:

Our tutorial will teach you to build bionic claws using our fourth-generation muscle sensor, the MyoWare. Simply flex your forearm muscle and *SNIKT*, a fraction of a second later the 4 inch claws extend out. Relax your forearm to retract the claws. We've even added a muscle-activated locking mechanism in case you want the claws to stay out without keeping your muscle flexed.

This MyoWare sensor could also be used to make prosthetic limbs more functional so that someone could merely flex their muscle to use an artificial limb to pick something up. The have a Kickstarter page for it here with more information. These Wolverine inspired claws are a great way for them to get the word out. Check out the video!

WARCRAFT Director Duncan Jones Talks Avengers Influence, Effects, and a Possible Sequel

There’s still so much we don’t know about Duncan JonesWarcraft, but from what I’ve see it looks like it’s going to be incredible. Video game based films don’t have the best track record, but Warcraft could very well be the movie to change all that. It might have the power to influence all of the other video game movies that will follow.

I think Warcraft will be the Iron Man of video game films. What I mean by that is that it will change the way video game movies are made, the same way that Iron Man changed the way comic book films were made.

In a recent interview with Wired, Jones opened up a little bit about the movie, the visual effects and more.

“Motion capture has become very specialized but also still just a tool of filmmaking. We tried to do a lot of large, in-camera sets so that we had an actual reality that the film was built on top of. Some of the time we had [actors doing motion capture] on location, some of the time we had them on set, sometimes there was green screen.”

The story that the movie tells will focus on the first time humans encounter the orcs, the look of which were influenced by the Hulk in Marvel’s Avengers films. When talking about the visual effects and supervisor Jeff White, who designed the orcs, Jones said,

“He absolutely nailed that character [Hulk], and orcs feel like they may have some of the same genetic background as the Hulk. When we found out that Jeff himself was actually an avid Warcraft player as well, it became clear how excited he was about playing in this universe, It was a match made in heaven.”

We got our first official look at the orcs recently, which you can check out here, and they look awesome. When a potential Warcraft sequel was brought up in the conversation, Jones said he’d like to develop an original project when he’s finished with Warcraft. Of course, he would eventually “love” to work on a sequel, “If I have the good fortune to work with the same group of people.”

So there’s always a chance he could direct the sequel if Legendary Pictures decides to move forward with one. This seems like the kind of epic film that could end up doing very well and turn into a lucrative franchise.

Fighting for The Alliance we have Dominic Cooper as King Llane Wrynn, Travis Fimmel as Anduin Lothar, Ben Foster as Medivh, Ben Schnetzer as Khadgar, and Ruth Negga as Lady Taria, and on the side of The Horde there is Clancy Brown as Blackhand, Toby Kebbel as Durotan, Robert Kazinsky as Ogrim, and Daniel Wu as Gul’Dan, and Paula Patton’s Garona caught in the middle.

Warcraft is set to be released in theaters on June 10th, 2016.

Here's a great animated short film called "Taking the Plunge" that follows a man who embarks on an underwater adventure after he accidentally loses his engagement ring when he's about to propose to his girlfriend on a boat dock.

When a young man's ideal marriage proposal is put in jeopardy he is forced to dive into unknown waters to salvage his plans...

After he dives in after it, an octopus comes along to help him find it. Unfortunately, the ring ended up near a terrifying shark, who isn't going to make things easy for them.

The short was directed by Thaddaeus Andreades, Marie Raoult, Nicholas Manfredi, and Elizabeth Ku-Herrero, and it's an all-around entertaining film that I think you'll all enjoy.

Some more new promo art has surfaced featuring Iron Man's new "Bleeding Edge Armor" from Captain America: Civil War. As you'll see in the art below, the superhero is striking an action pose. You can check out the previously released Iron Man armor art here and the Captain America art here.

There seems to be a lot of excitement about this suit of armor finally coming into play in the Marvel cinematic universe, and there should be! The suit is badass! I included a detailed description of the suit below the image. There's no official word on if the suit will include all of those capabilities in the movie, but hopefully it does. Thanks to Heroic Hollywood for the image!

The following info comes from Iron Man Wiki:

This armor made Iron Man the most powerful hero in the world. It can go toe to toe with Thor and savagely beat an amped Red Hulk. Its power source has been described as a man made star. This entire armor is kept inside Tony's body until mentally commanded, at which point it manifests itself as the Iron Man Armor. The armor is made up of Nano-Machines that can now be commanded to turn into any type of structure upon Stark's skin. For example, the Nano-machines can turn into clothes, other armors, or even different beings completely, by having the Nano-machines change their properties into whatever Stark wants them to be. It can also dissociate to transform into the Iron Man armor whenever Stark wishes. The armor and Stark's own transhuman body are powered by the high-yield R.T. node mounted in his chest. The high output of the node has greatly augmented Stark's intelligence and provided him with superhuman-level multitasking and learning capabilities. The previous armor , Extremis armor , was enough to defeat The Sentry , who was at the time the most powerful superhero in the world, and the Bleeding Edge armor was much more powerful than the Extremis armor so that implies that Tony can easily defeat the sentry while in the Bleeding edge armor which makes him far more superior than any of his enemies. The known weaponry includes repulsors, uni-beam, pulse bolts, tasers, and an energy blade. Defenses include deflector shields. Other type of weapons and upgrades seems to be created by Stark's imagination, such as a boxing glove, large guns extending from his arms, or cannons.
The suit's repulsors, which are located around the knuckles, chest, back and legs of the armor, as well as in the traditional palms, now function also as cameras, or "eyeballs", which afford Stark a 360-degree panoramic view around himself.

AMC has released a promo video showcasing several of the shows that will be airing on the network in 2015. That includes our first look at some footage from The Walking Dead companion series Fear the Walking Dead. The characters that we get to see in the footage include Cliff Curtis as Sean, Kim Dickens as Madison, and Frank Dillane as her troubled son Nick, running like a bat out of hell.

Also, thanks to EW we have some photos from the set to share with you. Series creator Robert Kirkman explained,

"Fear the Walking Dead takes us back to the earlier, more dangerous, more terrifying days of The Walking Dead. A time when danger was lurking around every corner and the thing mostly likely to get you killed was your own ignorance of the rapidly changing world around you. The stakes are going to be higher and the ride more intense. We're going to show people all the insanity of civilization crumbling that Rick Grimes slept through. Buckle up."

The first season consists of six episodes, and it's set to air sometime this summer. A second season is expected to follow in 2016. It's too early to tell if this series is going to be as good as The Walking Dead, but hopefully it is.

5 Odd Times Geek Culture and Pro Wrestling Collided

$

There has always been a sturdy if not undeniable crossover between fans of all things geek and fans of pro wrestling. Wrestlers are now a staple among celebrity guests at comic cons, and stars like Hulk Hogan, Dwayne Johnson, and Dave Bautista have had exposure in geeky films throughout the years. Occasionally, non-wrestling celebrities will appear on wrestling programs to promote their brand, and over the years several geek icons have graced the squared circle. While some were very good (Mr. T), this list is comprised of some of the more hilarious ones and a couple missteps taken taken over the years.

Stephen Amell Calls Out StarDust

The most recent appearance on the list, and while not incredibly awkward, a huge misstep in the way of WWE promoting it. Arrow star Stephen Amell has been on a campaign for the past year for WWE to make him a guest host on Monday Night RAW. Fans have made signs, it's trended on Twitter many times, and it finally took Amell buying a ticket and sitting in the audience to get any sort of attention from the biggest brand in wrestling.

So as the video showed, Stardust (Kayfabe life and real life brother of WWE Legend GoldDust) is walking through the crowd and spots Amell out of the crowd. The two exchange and tease a further feud and the crowd goes...absolutely silent.

There's a couple reasons this could have happened. As you can see from the video, the Titantron is showing Stardust's entrance video, which means a majority of the crowd in attendance could not see Stardust was actually addressing Amell. This crowd also cannot hear the at home commentators, who honestly did a shitty job of making the event seem like anything whatsoever. On top of all that, RAW already had a celebrity guest host that night with the entire cast of Entourage, so the event was even further buried by what was a largely forgettable appearance by the Entourage crew...save a Johnny Drama crowd chant during a John Cena match.

Luckily the exchange was covered in the post show, and this will likely not be Amell's last appearance on Monday Night RAW.

Hugh Jackman Takes On "Magneto"

Let it be known right here and now that Hugh Jackman is one of the WWE's darlings when it comes to celebrity guests. He's had many appearances, all exponentially better than his most recent, which in all honesty was an embarrassment for both parties. WWE writing had run dry on ideas for one of their formerly big wrestlers Damien Sandow, so they did what they always do when faced with a challenge and created a stupid gimmick. Week after week the former "intellectual savior to us all" came out dressed in a costume claiming to be some historical/fictional/celebrity figure in some sort of comedy sketch and then got his ass kicked.

Was it alright for a comedic bit for kids? Totally, and for what it's worth, Sandow's career did have a bit of an uptick in a "stuntman" gimmick for WWE Superstar The Miz (Who was also in The Marine 3...forgot to mention him in the movie stars section.)

Here's another clip of Jackman in action a couple years earlier landing a punch on then villain Dolph Ziggler.

Robocop Teams Up With Sting In WCW

Sometimes wrestling can be stupid because it's wrestling, and other times wrestling can be stupid because it's stupid. WCW did many things right in it's run, but towards the end there was some really...reallly stupid things they did for money that not only pissed off fans, but ultimately killed the brand. Case in point: hero of WCW Sting tag teaming with Robocop to take on the 4 Horsemen. This event is a textbook example of the complicated world wrestling exists in.

So we all know Robocop is not real, and we all know that while the injuries and hits wrestlers take can be very real, the end result is scripted. However, even though we as fans know wrestling isn't an actual sport, the immersion of the show requires you to at least acknowledge that these are people grounded in reality participating in a sport. Having a movie character come in and tear the bars apart in a show that tries to maintain a sense of realism really destroys that illusion. Almost as much as having a living cursed doll call out one of your wrestlers...

David Arquette Becomes The WCW World Champion

Many credit the outright death of WCW to a geek celebrity appearance. Who can blame them when you make David Arquette your world champion? Yes, that David Arquette. 8 Legged Freaks, Scream, formerly married to Courtney Cox David Arquette. In a truly confusing move, a wrestling company decided to put their most prestigious title on a man who had a very basic knowledge of the world of wrestling...and couldn't wrestle.

It was the year 2000...you could've gone with Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, or literally anyone besides David Arquette. It's a move he himself would come to question down the road.

Pee Wee Herman On RAW

Perhaps the weirdest guest host to to be on RAW and possibly the best celebrity appearance they've had. Who can not like Pee Wee? I feel his appearance worked so well as his gimmick is essentially the same gimmick wrestlers live day in and day out. Behind closed doors and on rare public occasions he is Paul Reubens, but as soon as the cameras roll he is full on Pee Wee. Wrestlers live their gimmicks day in and day out with fans, so I feel the two had a great understanding of each other going in, and things went really well.

Rocksteady Studios seems to have outdone themselves with Batman: Arkham Knight. This easily looks like the best game in the Arkham franchise, which would make it the perfect conclusion to this trilogy of games.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment continues to show off the awesomeness of the game, and today we have 7 minutes of gameplay footage for you to watch. Here's a brief description of what you are about to see:

Supercut: Wild POV Shots From The MAD MAX Films

$

One of the things people are raving about the most in Mad Max: Fury Road is director George Miller's use of practical effects and locations. There is CG in the movie, yes — they didn't actually drive into a massive lightning-infused sandstorm — but a majority of the action was shot with real actors on real vehicles out in the desert (check out some behind-the-scenes footage here).

Miller has been doing this for years in his Mad Max movies, and now editor Rishi Kaneria (via Sploid) has cut together a supercut of all of the POV shots from the earlier films. If you've never seen the original movies, maybe this will be enough to convince you to go check them out. It also gives me the idea that maybe Quentin Tarantino borrowed his famous "trunk shot" from Miller, since you can see one or two of those kinds of shots on display here.

Crazy Red-Band Trailer For Stoner Spy Thriller AMERICAN ULTRA

Before Jesse Eisenberg hits the big screen as the next Lex Luthor, he's playing a stoner who discovers he's actually a secret agent. Here's the red-band trailer for American Ultra, directed by Nima Nourizadeh (Project X) and written by Chronicle writer Max Landis.

Eisenberg plays a stoner who is "activated" by Connie Britton's character, and before he can propose to his girlfriend (Kristen Stewart), the two have to go on the run from the government agency that's trying to silence them. It looks like a great small-scale thriller with the potential to be super funny, so we're hoping for good things from this one when it arrives on August 21st.

Did You Know Darth Vader's Neck Was Broken in STAR WARS?

did-you-know-darth-vaders-neck-was-broken-in-star-wars

In all the times I've watched the original Star Wars trilogy, I have never ever noticed that Darth Vader's neck had been broken. This little detail was recently revealed to me by GT reader Connor Heggiewho sent us a video breaking down the details of Vader's broken neck. This is a point that no one has really talked about. I know it has never come up in any of the Star Wars discussions that I've had over the years, and I've never read about it anywhere before. It may not be a huge deal to some of you, but the fact that I didn't know this until now is kind of blowing my mind. Maybe some of you already were aware of this, and if that's the case, I applaud you for your hardcore Star Wars fandom.

As you can see in the image above, his neck vertebra have been replaced by what looks to be a metal spine. When did it happen, though? You can watch Connor talk about this overlooked Star Wars detail in the video below.

On a funny side-note, in Family Guy's Star Wars parody movie "It's a Trap," Luke Skywalker broke Darth Vader's neck while trying to remove his helmet.

PAN Director Joe Wright In Talks To Direct Anne Hathaway in THE LIFEBOAT

After Les Miserables, Anne Hathaway took some time off for a little while to get out of the public eye, but starring in Chris Nolan's Interstellar last year put her right back in the thick of things. She has the awful-looking The Intern coming up opposite Robert De Niro, but Colossal sounds like it could be brilliant (if it's able to win it's current legal battle), and the latest project she's attached to also sounds excellent. Deadline reports that Pan, Atonement, and Hanna director Joe Wright is in talks to direct Hathaway in The Lifeboat, which is based on Charlotte Rogan's book of the same name. Here's the synopsis:

Grace Winter, 22, is both a newlywed and a widow. She is also on trial for her life.

In the summer of 1914, the elegant ocean liner carrying Grace and her husband Henry across the Atlantic suffers a mysterious explosion. Setting aside his own safety, Henry secures Grace a place in a lifeboat, which the survivors quickly realize has exceeded capacity. For any to live, some must die.

As the castaways battle the elements and each other, Grace recollects the unorthodox way she and Henry met, and the new life of privilege she thought she'd found. Will she pay any price to keep it?

THE LIFEBOAT is a page-turning novel of hard choices and survival, narrated by a woman as unforgettable and complex as the events she describes.

Aside from the fact that they'll have to age the character up slightly, this sounds like a really solid concept to me. Cast Away writer William Broyles Jr. is writing the screenplay, and this could be a cool opportunity for Wright to tell a story on a smaller scale that still allows for some creative challenges during the production. I can already imagine him planning out where his trademarked long continuous shot is going to go. Hathaway sounds like a great fit as well, so I'm excited about this one. What do you think?

This is What GRAND THEFT AUTO V Would Look Like As An '80s TV Show

The 1980s-set Miami-inspired Grand Theft Auto: Vice City might still be my favorite game in the GTA saga, but Grand Theft Auto V is certainly the biggest and most cinematic thus far. But YouTuber Dolce has given the new game a makeover to imagine what the game might look like "if it came in a box of VHS tapes." The 4:3 formatting, visual filters, and awesome Drive-esque score by Lazerhawk all make the game seem like it's straight out of 1983, but this would have had to be a TV show with a mega-budget to pull of all of the explosions and car chases we see here.

M. Night Shyamalan Wants To Develop An UNBREAKABLE TV Series

m-night-shyamalan-wants-to-develop-an-unbreakable-tv-series

M. Night Shyamalan has been talking about doing an Unbreakable sequel for years. It's the one thing that I might actually be excited about seeing him make, but now he's looking at the possibility of developing it as a TV series instead.

The filmmaker currently has a suspense series on FOX called Wayward Pines, which is apparently doing really well. I don't think the show is really that good, and didn't make it past the pilot episode. While talking to IGN about the new series, Shyamalan was asked if he'd be open to bringing Unbreakable to the small screen, and this was his reply:

"As a way continue the story, yes. That would [interest me]. I really love where we are. Could you do a six-episode Unbreakable series on Netflix or HBO? Yeah! That's cool. I even had an idea of doing a story that goes in one form, and a second part that's in another form, and a third one's in a different form. You never do the same form. It would be like, movie, then, let's say, cable, to TV, whatever, and then a play; it goes straight online, and it finishes like that. It's in four different forms, and it never goes back to the old one. It could be kind of cool."

I think that's an interesting idea that could work really well. He went on to talk about how TV is changing the entertainment industry:

"I think it's interesting that content has changed. The form is now blurring, where we used to say it had to be two hours or episodic. Episodic meant that at each commercial break you had to do this or that. Those were the two forms, that's it. Now, that's already changed. The bizarreness of sequels in film is a little bit of what's going on with the power of TV. Once you've created a world and struggles and characters that we now connect with, again, that's where the story begins. So that's why sequels have become so powerful. In the old days, it just meant you were gouging them for more money. But it's almost like every movie now wants to live, and we want to stay with the characters we've come to love. Maybe it's where we are post-9/11 -- people have a lot of theories about this, by the way -- why it's harder to make original stuff. We're scared to invest in something new. That's why TV is exploding. But because of this interesting psychological need from the audience and the filmmaker, eight episodes of True Detective, like, that's enough for me. It satiated me. I wouldn't have wanted to see the film version of it, and to be honest I don't want to see five seasons of it. But I felt it. It's sticking to me."

I could see Unbreakable as a TV series, but I think I'd rather see a feature film sequel that featured Bruce Willis and maybe Samuel L. Jackson reprising their roles. I just don't see them making the leap to TV anytime soon. But who knows, maybe they would do it for Unbreakable

Patton Oswalt gave an amazing story pitch for Unbreakable 2 and 3 that perfectly wraps up the story. I think Shyamalan should use these ideas if he ever ends up continuing the story. You can watch him pitch those movie ideas here

Official Details on Andy Serkis' STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Character

Ever since Andy Serkis joined the cast of J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens, fans have been wondering if he'd appear as a normal-looking human character or if he'd be portraying a performance-capture character instead. Despite a couple of trailers and a slew of new information from the Vanity Fair interviews over the past few weeks, we still didn't know the answer. But that's all changed thanks to StarWars.com, which reveals that Serkis will be playing a performance-capture character named Supreme Leader Snoke. (He's the guy who delivered that dialogue in the first teaser trailer about the awakening of the dark side and the light.)

The image and new information is found in an interview with photographer Annie Leibovitz (who took the Vanity Fair photos, as well as the new image of Serkis above), but no further information is given, leaving us to speculate wildly about who Supreme Leader Snoke is, what exactly he's leading, and why. The whole piece is worth reading, but that's the only relevant new info that came from it, so feel free to take to the comments and let us know your thoughts. Is Snoke the Supreme Leader of the New Order, or something else? His voice certainly sounded sinister, and that title makes him seem like a villain to me.

If you were born after 1975, there's a good chance you've never had the opportunity to see Steven Spielberg's classic film Jaws on the big screen. That's about to change, since THR reports that the movie is going to be screened in theaters around the country by Fathom Events next month. On Sunday, June 21st, and Wednesday, June 24th at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. local time, the movie will play with an introduction by TCM's Ben Mankiewicz.

Jaws, of course, was the first blockbuster ever, predating Star Wars and kicking off a trend that has become Hollywood's bread and butter over the past few decades. For more information about the movie, I'd highly recommend Jamie Benning's filmumentary Inside Jaws, which you can watch below.

High Profile Directors Keep Passing on Channing Tatum's GAMBIT Movie

Channing Tatum is very excited to finally get his solo Gambit movie off the ground. He's almost ready to go. He has a script written by Josh Zetumer (Robocop remake), and producers Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg are on board with experience working on several of 20th Century Fox’s Marvel properties. All the movie needs now is a director.

Apparently Tatum has been going after some big names to take on the project, but they keep saying no him. According to Umberto Gonzales he has approached Bennett Miller, who directed Tatum in Foxcatcher, and Darren Aronofsky, who was once attached to direct The Wolverine. Then, according to the Meet the Movie Press podcast (via ScreenCrush), Gareth Evans, who directed The Raid films, and J.C. Chandor, who wrote and directed A Most Violent Year, have also been asked to direct the movie.

I'm interested in knowing why all of these directors have said no. Tatum seems like a bankable star, and Gambit is a popular X-Men character that fans have been waiting to see get his own movie. The only things I can think of is that either the script sucks, they just don't have the time to do it, or it's simply not a project that's right for them.

The fact that Tatum is going after such talented directors is a good sign though. It means he wants his Gambit film to be great. He's not going after mediocre directors who make mediocre films. So even if there are script issues, the actor is looking for someone who will be able to come in and make it better. With that being the case, I'm curious to see who he ends up landing to take on the project.

Fox is planning to release the movie in theaters in October of 2016, so if they are going to hit that date, they need to start shooting fairly soon. Who do you think would make a good director for Gambit?

Review: Cameron Crowe's ALOHA is a Frustrating Failure

Cameron Crowe, who hit it big with the one-two punch of Jerry Maguire and Almost Famous, has been relatively quiet over the past fifteen years, releasing only three features during that time: Vanilla Sky, Elizabethtown, and We Bought A ZooAloha is his first film in four years, though it's been in development for much longer than that (Ben Stiller and Reese Witherspoon were initially going to play the leads). So the movie has finally arrived, but is it any good? Sadly, the answer is no.

There are elements I enjoyed: the cast is excellent, the location is gorgeous, and you get the sense that this is a movie made for adults, which is increasingly rare in most mainstream films these days. But despite its positives, there was one glaring negative I couldn't get past: I just couldn't invest in the relationship between the main characters. I'll get to why I think that is in a minute, but first, a brief plot summary. Bradley Cooper plays a soldier-turned-contractor who works for a private tech company run by the unfortunately miscast Bill Murray. Cooper is sent to Hawaii to facilitate a blessing of a new land bridge so Murray's company can build launch stations there and put privatized satellites in orbit, but given Cooper's checkered past, Emma Stone — a young go-getter Air Force pilot — is tasked with babysitting him. Meanwhile, Cooper reunites with his old flame Rachel McAdams, who's now married with two kids, and we have the makings of a good old fashioned love triangle.

The film wants us to buy into a romance between Cooper and Stone, but their characters almost immediately start acting in a way that somehow seems unearned, as if the banter and flirtation comes totally out of nowhere. We see them meet in the opening minutes, and it's not long until they're clearly into each other, but it feels like there were entire scenes that were cut from that critical beginning stage of their relationship that would justify their behavior. I realize this is a weird complaint, but Aloha's oscillating tones don't do it any favors; its decision to not properly lay that groundwork compounds as the movie progresses, and because their interactions struck me as bizarre early on, I couldn't get on board with the love story as the film progressed. This could have been alleviated with just a few more lines of dialogue, but there was so much left unsaid (and not always in a good way).

In fact, I'd argue that this film is defined by what it doesn't say, to the point that it becomes a joke how John Krasinski's character, a strong silent soldier, only uses body language and facial expressions to communicate his ideas. (At first, I thought this was Krasinski's way of acting against type, but as soon as it's established that he mostly uses facial expressions to communicate, I remembered that's exactly what he did in his most recognizable role as Jim on The Office.) Aloha seems to go out of its way to avoid tropes that make it feel like a movie, eschewing exposition dumps for small pieces of information doled out in sensible conversations and featuring Crowe's naturalistic dialogue, which often sounds like real people might actually speak those words. (This has always been one of Crowe's main strengths as a filmmaker, going all the way back to his first screenplay, Fast Times at Ridgemont High.) The characters rarely talk in "movie-speak," and all of the relationships feel logical and real. It's a romantic film, so there's the occasional grand speech, but for the most part, the movie succeeds in avoiding cliches in the dialogue. So much of the story is told with furtive glances, darting eyes, and knowing looks, contributing to the feeling that you've been dropped into the middle of a story and are watching these people interact instead of watching actors act. The obvious exception is Danny McBride, whose character — nicknamed "Fingers" — is constantly and spastically flicking his fingers to the point of distraction.

There are a couple of moments that lend to deeper-than-surface-level readings (there's a line about being replaced by a comic book character of yourself that could be read as a statement about the movie industry today, and another piece of media commentary centering on the film's climax), but for the most part, this is a pretty straightforward story — albeit one told in a strangely roundabout way. If you can get past some of the weird tonal shifts and allow yourself to engage with the romance as it's presented, maybe you'll enjoy the movie more than I did. From my perspective, though, I just couldn't shake the feeling that Aloha feels incomplete, and as a result I found it to be a sort of baffling, jarring experience.

Marvel has released a new poster for Ant-Man, and in it we see him riding on the back of an ant while dodging a hail of gunfire. This is definitely a step up from the last poster that was released, and I'm sure we'll actually see a scene like this play out in the movie. I'm excited to see how this story unfolds and how it fits in with the rest of the MCU.

In Ant-Man, Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) approaches master thief Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) with a suit that grants him the ability to shrink in size but increases his strength! Scott must embrace his inner hero and put the suit to good use and save the world under Pym's leadership.

Ant-Man stars Paul RuddCorey Stoll, Evangeline Lilly, David Dastmalchian, Michael Pena, Bobby Cannavale, Abby Ryder Fortson, Judy Greer, Wood Harris, John Slattery, and Gregg Turkington. The film opens July 17, 2015. Check out the trailer below!
